"Wonderful getaway"
We loved it. Nice for a weekend getaway. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. We actually got a riverfront room, beautiful view. Perfect location!!! We parked when we checked in and walked EVERYwhere till we checked out! We will definitey return in the future!

Amazing Atrium, beautiful view from top floors, friendly and helpful service, good rooms. Design could use an overhaul, its a little dated but still attractive.

The hotel is big and is situated close to the downtown area. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities. Didn't really use any of their services and had minimal contact with their staff so overall, they seemed OK. "The Marriott in Knoxville, TN."
Had a wonderful stay. Didn't stay in the room much as there was much to see and do in close proximity of the hotel. The staff in the restaurant for breakfast and lunch was absolute perfection. Very attentive to a large party of 20 and they handled all of us with a smile and in a most efficient manner.

I HAD BOOKED A ROOM W/KING BED, BUT WHEN I ARRIVED, I WAS GIVEN A ROOM WITH TWO DOUBLE BEDS, THE ROOM WAS CHANGED, BUT I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS LUCKY THE HOTEL CHANGED IT FOR ME. I THOUGHT THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE HOTEL'S PROBLEM, NOT MINE.

"Showing its age ...."
and the staff is resting on what it used to be. Wireless access is very limited and requires one to accept charges each time a device is connected. At dial-up speeds there "high-speed" access is questionable.

This was an older hotel that is in need of some maintenance. While the room was clean and very nicely furnished, there were some problems. The water temperature control in the shower was loose, so the water kept getting hotter. After readjustment, it would creep around to the hottest setting again. Hotel is different looking from outside with concrete structure. However, lobby is expansive. Front desk is extremely courteous and bell hop helpful. Manager introduced himself and breakfast buffet was the best! Made to order omelet, belgian waffle, bacon, sausage was terrific. Stay on riverview side. A great place to stay. Convenient to UT and downtown. Good food at the in-house restaurant and nice atmosphere at the bar. The only suggestion I have is to request an outside room. The echo factor from the lobby/bar area is tremendous and it was difficult to sleep due to the noise. this is a very nice property to stay at. it is in a very conveinent location as it is close to downtown and the interstate,but still has a great deal of privacy due to its location.

Front desk staffers were great. Very friendly and helpful. Despite there being no King beds as reserved, still a comfortable room and the balcony was fantastic. Why don't all hotels have these? They should. Thought parking would be a problem, but never without a space in two days. I'll stay here again.

This was the first stop after my wedding on our way to the honeymoon... of course we chose a Marriott... it's the best! BUT... the staff was a little lacking. First of all, when I checked in, they swiped my CC for incidentals... but somehow it didn't get entered into the system. That night, I ordered room service and signed the bill. My new wife and […] I started to "consummate" our marriage, when the staff started banging on our door. I tried to ignore it the first two times, but I answered on the third. They explained there was a problem with the credit card. I asked if it could wait until morning, but it could not according to them. So I paid cash and was VERY irritated. The next morning, there was some confusion about the breakfast that was supposed to be part of the room deal I booked. One concierge said it was for one breakfast, and another said it was for two. I kept asking around until I found the one who said it was for two breakfasts, and she honored that. When I checked out, I tipped her because she seemed to be the only person on staff who knew the meaning of "customer service". Those two incidents aside, the room was great, the bed was soft and clean, and parking was free. I still recommend Marriott, just be sure your credit card is on file correctly, or else you get your door knocked down. :) Les mer

"Knoxville Marriott was great except...."
All was good although a/c didn't cool room according to thermostat setting left sleeping comfort to be desired other than that little glitch, hotel experience was great
"BRING BACK THE HIGH STANDARDS OF THE HYATT"
I'VE STAYED HERE SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST AND WILL TAKE THIS SUBSTANDARD VISIT AS A FLUKE. GET WITH THE MAINTENANCE CREW TO REPAIR LOCKS, TIGHTEN HINGES AND CHECK THE PLUMBING.
