Hvorfor bo trangt i B.ham når du kan få suite til sammenprisen i Coventry. I alle fall når målet for reisen Crufts på NEC. 10 min med toget fra Coventry! Flott hotell, supre rom og god service.

"Clean-friendly staff-quiet- but ..."
stayed here twice within a few weeks of each other, and the 2 problems applies to both stays, only 2 problems, the bed was really uncomfortable, could feel the springs an also sags in middle from being used frequent and never turned more than likely. The room was small but very nice-however we did sleep with the window open though it was december and very cold outside as the room was so hot! The only real complaint we had was that the girl serving in the bar was downright rude when we tried to get a drink after being out. We booked a double room, when we arrived it was a 3/4 bed not a double, this was not made clear when booking. The bed was against the wall preventing us from sleeping and meaning it was uncomfortable for me and my partner was disturbed when i got out of the bed. The room was very warm during the night. Breakfast was included, however the food was […] cold. Although it was clear that there were 2 people staying in the room, the hotel provided only 1 towel, 1 tea cup, 1 glass, 1 biscuit, 1 of each type of drink, and only 1 pillow each. The staff were not very helpful when trying to sort the 1 towel issue. Kept awake by other guests and slamming of doors in the early hours of the morning. We had a 2 night package which included breakfast on both mornings and 1 evening meal,The staff were friendly and helpful and the food very good. Our room was one on the inner circle so was small but sufficient for our needs and was both clean and comfortable. the room was very warm due to boxed in hot pipes running along the floor. I know this hotel as I am originally from this area. So location was not a surprise. However the condition of the hotel is not 4 Star at best it is an average 3 star. Carpets and rooms all need repairing and the condition of the rails is extremely poor. Parking is charged at a reasonable rate. "Pleasantly surprised"
We arrived not expecting to much for the location and price of the hotel but it was a real shock to see the size and quality of the room. Check was a doddle as we had pre paid via hotels.com and we were in our room within 3 mins of arriving. Up on the 6th floor and so was quiet. The room was very spacious and comfortable with all you would need for […] a relaxing stay. It is close to the city centre as well as being close to surrounding quieter areas. "Functional and clean"
I was pleased with my stay at the strathallan. The rooms were clean and the staff very friendly and efficient. It was good value and included an evening meal. I would recommend it as it's easy to get to and clean and comfortable.

Well located in the smart Edgbaston part of Birmingham. It's a 20min walk from the cricket ground or centre and within an easy stagger of several good curry houses. Helpful and friendly staff and the room was smart and comfortable. Only downside was my view as it looked in to the centre of the hotel so I was looking at a triangle of grubby grey stone […] walls. I stayed at the hotel on a saturday night. I thought it was in a very good location just a couple of minutes drive from broad street so not noisy at all.The hotel staff were friendly and the room was clean..Well worth paying it a visit.!!!
"Nice enough"
The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the city centre but well connected by buses as well. It is in good condition and the room was fine. An alarm was ringing constantly during the first night. We were told it was new and could not be turned off. It eventually went off at around 11.30. The room was very warm so we had to have the […] window open which made the alarm very annoying. The second night was punctuated by some people who returned to their room late and talked loudly with their window open until 6.00 am. The noise and heat of the room were both disappointing. Reception staff were polite but not friendly. Dining room staff, on the other hand, were very nice and helpful. We ate in the hotel one night and it was not bad and good value. Stayed here for a wedding weekend so there were a few of us... to start off when you are greeted at reception by someone with scuffed up clothes and and cigarette burn holes in the trousers..not a good start.. Our room was a bigger executive and still hot..the normal rooms were extremely hot..and keeping the window is not an option as the noise from […] the road will keep you awake all night... at least they do bring you fans when asked for.. Location is ok..takes about 20mts to walk to the centre The bar is good but even though they said it would be open late and there were about 15 of us..they didn't serve us even though the lady was there at the bar..she probably needed to go home early... "Adequate"
We only stayed one night and it was perfectly adequate for what we needed. The biggest complaint would be how terribly hot the entire hotel was. We opened our window but everyone else did as well and it got very noisy at night. But the reception was helpful, called us cabs, etc.

A good quality stay keeping in mind it is a 3* hotel. You might want to ask for a room that has a view; I had one on the inner 'circle' of the hotel, and thus viewed right into the air conditioning system. Furthermore, you will want to order your own taxis. The company the hotel used sent a car without a meter... but a taxi to Birmingham New Street […] station should cost around £7.50. Heads up! "Nice hotel - close to Birmingham City Centre"
We stayed two nights B&B and had dinner on our second night. Nice hotel - not that attractive from the outside but lovely inside. The room was small but comfortable, clean and well furnished. Breakfast was good and the 3 course set menu for dinner was excellent. Complimentary local newspapers , Irish Times and Financial Times were available. We left […] our car in the secure on site car park and walked into Birmingham Town centre - a good 30 minute walk on the flat, but there is a bus stop right outside the hotel with buses running every 8 minutes. This hotel is excellent. The staff were friendly and the room was great everything you need for a short stay. The hotel is a great safe location with the bus stop right outsidethe door and various restuaranats close by, i would stay again and recommend to others!!

The Menzies Strathallan is well located a short taxi ride from Birmingham centre, but has easy access to restaurants close by. The rooms are ' compact ' but practical for a business stay and the food in the hotel is of a good standard. The staff generally were good although some of the font desk staff appear to have lost their sense of humour and knowledge […] of how guests expect to be treated, At check out the lady was less than happy to say the least Overall I would stay again if it was for a single night. The inside rooms were very warm (even with the window open ans minus 6c outside) staff were functional. Consider a little bit over priced when breakfast & parking added to bill. There are many alternatives in the area that are worth trying

My night stay at the Menzies was great, the room was clean, warm and had tea/coffee making facilities, a flat screen wall mounted TV which was perfectly situated on the wall if you were lying on the bed but also movable so you could be at the desk, for example and have good views. The bathroom was stocked with luxury toilitries and towels were fluffy, […] the power shower was delightful. The only let down was the view out of the iwndow - there wasnt one and noise as there was a wedding in the hotel and very noisy guests walking past several times in the early hours who also shouted between their windows. All in all it was a great stay and I will definitly stay again when I visit my family. Les mer
