"DoubleTree - perfect stay!"
I needed to stay for business for the week and I could not have selected a more perfect place. Very professional and fast check-in. They even put me on the first floor since I had so many bags to lug (computers, clothes, shoes, etc). I didn't even have to ask. Food from Trader Dukes (hotel restaurant) was very good. Woman who took my room service order […] had a fantastic personality. When I did not order a drink she added a water with lemon just in case. Good sized portions and delivery to my room was 10 minutes (I kid you not). I ordered Chinese takeout one night from a local place and they did not give me utensils. Trader Dukes restaurant in the hotel had no problem giving me a full set of silverware wrapped in a linen napkin. I felt very safe. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in the Burlington area. Although it is on "the strip" on Rte 2, it was very quiet in my room and 2 seconds from I89. Les mer

My boyfriend and I stayed here with our small dog in early January, between stays at two other hotels (the Hilltop Inn near Montpelier - a disaster - and the Inn at Essex, which was nice but not as nice as expected). We didn't expect much from the Double Tree - just a clean room at a decent price - but they surprised us again and again with their customer […] service. First, the free cookies. I know it's a corporate gimmick, but those cookies are delicious. Then, they gave us free breakfast just for letting them know where we were (in the hotel) when the dog was in the room alone, with a sweet hand-written thank you note. Maybe they come up with a reason to "thank" everyone, but either way, it was a really nice thing to find tucked under our door. The food at Duke's was better than it needed to be (we ate there twice), if not spectacular (normal hotel fare). Breakfast was so good - fresh fruit, lots of extra teas, etc. The hot tub was very hot, but we like it that way - and they have a nice size, clean pool which a small family seemed to be enjoying. Overall, amid disappointing experiences at other hotels on this trip, the Double Tree really impressed us. We'd go back in a heartbeat. Les mer
We loved the fact that our dog could stay with us. We were in town to visit our son who could not come home for Christmas. How great it was to have us all together including our pet! We were able to leave the dog in the room while we ate together at the attached restaurant, and when we used the pool. Just be prepared that the rooms are less spacious […] than newer hotels. Les mer

Nice comfortable and (borderline) luxury hotel for a descent price, right in the suburb of Burlington next to the 89 which is ideal for travel. They accept dogs, which was great for us, as long as you never leave them alone in your room (they probably bark and neighbours will complain no doubt). Room as good, beds comfortable and TV is HD. Pool was […] nice enough, snacks and drinks from the machines were surprisingly comfortable, room service a little steep but ok. All in all, a nice play to stay! Les mer

Our stay was good in general ,with nice staff. We asked for an additional bed, They answered our request, we asked for Microwave They answered our demand, there was a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, but there was still some issues , there was a smell in the bathroom, even though it was clean, the water of Jacuzzi wasn't clean, and when we asked for an extra […] bed we got it with dirty sheets, I hoped if they have free breakfast. "Double Tree in Burlington Vt."
The hotel was ideally located for shopping and a minute away from the highway. Warm cookies were a welcome treat when we checked in. The beds were very comfortable, the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a little small but all in all a clean welcoming environment. A very pleasant stay.

"Great Hotel"
We stayed on Christmas Eve and were treated like the only people in the hotel. It was very clean, a beautiful room and I would like to add, there were very nice pillows! There were 4 pillows per bed. (we had a room with 2 beds) I recommend this hotel with no reservations.

I was very happy with the whole kit-n-caboodle! My husband and I met up there for Christmas shopping and time together. It was all very convenient and comfortable.

There were pros & cons about the hotel. The location was good, the staff was friendly, but when we discussed a problem with how unhappy we were about the room and things, they were not receptive to us. We had to call them to clean the room, it was after 1 p.m. They did come right away to clean it. The next day the toilet had a problem, and the lever […] on the shower head came off. The man did come right away to fix it. There were little things that were annoying. I expected more from a Hilton Hotel. Les mer

Overwhelming smell of smoking. Calls itself a non smoking hotel

"Great Stay"

"Loved the Hotel and Staff but the bed not so much"
Beds were way way too soft for me and my family. We had two double beds and they were both very soft and this made for an uncomfortable nights sleep especially for the two of us who shared one of the beds. Staff, food and cleanliness were excellant - peopld couldn't have been nicer or more helpful

Requested non smoking and this was not honored.. The odor was terrible and because the reservation was through hotels they did not change the room

"Stayed for a week it was great."
Adjacent to the Interstate and very close to UofVermont. Eastern Mountain Sports is walking distance around the corner (as is Barnes and Noble and a host of other shops) and Moe's Burritos, Starbucks, and a pizza place is across the street. My wife and infant son joined my for half the week and they had a crib in the room for me straightaway. Very convenient […] all around. Les mer

Very Musty carpet. Place needs new carpet.. very musty in hallway. Smell of Chlorine while you excerize could kill you. Tread mills needs replacing!

My stay at the Hilton was nice. I do have to say that my need for coffee first thing in the am.. was difficult with my coffee maker in my room not working. So I thought I would just go to the lobby to get a cup.. and nope.. you have to go in the restaurant or across the street and purchase your own. ugh! So the room was pricey and you dont really get […] anything included. Nice room but the price was higher than other hotels ive stayed in. I would stay again if I dont find one with a better value first. The pool was nice and the hot tub.. so thats a plus! Les mer
"Clean and comfortable, though overpriced"
Not downtown, so you'll need to drive to do anything. There is plenty of parking in Burlington, so this wasn't a problem, but if you are planning on setting out on foot, this isn't the place for you. It was pleasant and clean, with a nice pool and fitness area - though overpriced for what is essentially a 4 star motel.

We loved our room but were surprised by the low ceilings and cigarette smoke smell on the first floor as we walked to the restaurant. We were so happy that our room was on the second floor!

Very friendly and helpful staff; nice, attractive hotel with decent dining. Room was very nice, clean, etc., just a bit small with 2 dbl beds, a bit cramped even just for 2 people. Would not work for more than 2. Great for a single traveller, perhaps. But overall very nice hotel stay.
"small room, need new mattresses"
We stayed in a double-double room with our children for three nights. There was very little room with all the furniture. The bedding was comfortable but the mattress itself had an impression in the middle and caused us to roll to the center. The hotel is having some new carpet placed in the hall. The carpet in the room had a couple of sticky spots on […] it - yuck! The window opens a little which was nice since it was hard to get the temp right in the room. The pool and hot tub where okay - pretty dated. The breakfast buffet in the restaurant on Sunday was great. Overall, I think the pictures and descriptions paint a nicer picture than the place really is. There are probably other options nearby. Les mer

Excelllent place to stay and great value- staff is wonderful and restaurant Trader Duke is good too. Only complaint is that AC is loud and we couldn't open window- but we didn't ask for assitance either. We'd definitely stay there again.

burlington hotels must be in demand if this property sells for its price. wow. very pricey college town. good luck finding something better that's affordable. basically, over the top pricey. that's not to say it's not a comfortable, clean place. it most definitely is. but for a basic motel-hotel kind of experience without a lot of frills, PRICEY.

"Outdated and not euipped for more than one person"
I have stayed in Doubletree Hotels in a handful of states and unfortunately I have to say that the one in Burlington, VT is not a place I can recommend. We had one room with 2 double beds, which were fine, however the room was so small that there wasn't one place to set down and open a suitcase---except for on top of a bed. It was myself, a spouse […] and a 6yr old child and this room was flat out crowded. Also, the only countertop was part of a split bathroom. So when it was time for adults to brush their teeth, etc. they could not go into the "bathroom" instead the counter, sink and very bright lights were in the room. The bathroom part that had a door only had a toilet and a bath/shower. For a large person your knees might have touched the door it was so cramped. Also, when we entered the room it was 77 degrees and although we set the thermostat to 70 it didn't really make a difference. It was very warm and stuffy and anytime I looked the thermostat still said 77---even after hours of being on. When we woke up in the morning it had finally dropped to a whopping 76 degrees. I do realize for some that 76 is a tolerable temp. We are from WI though and are used to it being 68-72 at night. The staff were very friendly, but also couldn't really do anything about our issues. We couldn't even move furniture around to make a suitcase fit opened---believe me, we would have! The cookies were great too, but honestly I'd rather have suitcase space and a working A/C over fresh baked cookies. Also, we spent 7 days in both Montreal and Quebec City...and even though hotels there advertised some that their rooms might be smaller---like European hotels, but I can say not one other place we stayed was as cramped/small as the Doubletree in Vermont! I hope they can update the really old A/C units and stop remodeling and condensing space so that there's more quantity than quality being offered. Thank you... Les mer

This hotel was excellent. Our room was very well appointed, hotel staff were friendly and the service was good. Breakfast each morning was good.
