Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - Beach Resort and Casino - Palm Beach

Hotellet har sikkert vært fint en gang i tiden, men nå ser det slitent / shabby ut og det hjelper ikke å rusle rundt med en malerkost og flikke litt her og der. Da vi for 4 år siden tilbrakte 14 dager på hotellet var forfallet igang, vi ble da fortalt at en total renovering av hotellet var planlagt og var så smått satt igang. Både rom og korridorer […] har heldekkende tepper (de samme som for 4 år siden) og en kan jo tenke seg hvordan de ser ut på et "beach hotel" med sand og vann. Lukten av mugg er fremtedene i enkelt områder, vannlekasjer er det også. under noen regnbyger rant vannet ned veggen i korridoren, en del av frokostsalen ble avstengt pga lekkasje og vannet flommet inn over gulvet i lobbybaren. Håndklær og sengetøy som ble skiftet regelmessig var ok, men badet derimot så derimot ikke særlig delikat ut, med skitne fuger mellom flisene og hybelkaniner i krokene. Frokosten som er veldig amerikansk er ok, men støynivået i frokostsalen er forferdelig, en støy som gjør at en ikke blir sittende å kose seg med frokosten. Støyen rundt "poolbaren" og fra en næliggende bar/restaurant er til tider voldsom, der de konkurerer om å spille den høyest heavy metal og tecno musikk . Hver kveld var det også show og karaoke ved bassenget, alt med maximun lyd. Det var mao ikke et stille / rolig sted på hotellet før etter kl.23:00. Tilgang til internett -- kun i et eget rom ved resepsjonen, der det var satt opp 4 antikke PC'r. På spørsmål om trådløs tilgang, fikk vi til svar at det var mulig enkelte steder i hotellet, men de kunne ikke si hvor, men vi kunne kjøpe et WIFI-card i hotellets drug store til USD 30 for en uke. Vel - i drug storen hadde de ikke WIFI-card og etter 10 dager med daglige spørsmål om kortet ga vi opp. Utsjekk fra hotellet gikk fort og greit - turen til flyplsassen likeså. Neste gang vi tar turen til Aruba, bor vi på Amsterdam Manor, flott og koselig hotell på Eagle Beach. Les mer

My husband & I stayed here 16 years ago so we decided to stay here again thinking they must have done some renovations within the last few years, to our suprise nothing done to the interior of the hotel. Who would have ever thought with all tbe new buildings & construction in the area along with their high tourism rate they wouldn't update. Customer […] service suked, check in took well over an hour, their check in system is very antiquated. I mean really in this day & age what hotel takes that long to check someone in. Beds are at least 16 years old, lobby furniture the same, hallway dingy. The only plus to the hotel is their location. Les mer

The hotel is located at the end of the strip. Decent location, nice beach; wasn't crowed and an older more mature crowd. Typical Holiday Inn, very consistent and the service was okay. I'd stay again, I just wish the rooms were little more updated and that their were more options for room service. The rooms need to be updated and the room service menu […] options were lagging. If you want something to drink you have to use a vending machine; two options. In order to charge things to room- you have to have a "charge card", which they apply to your bill; just don't see the sense in it. Overall, the service and rooms just seemed outdated. Les mer

My husband & I stayed here for our honeymoon. We were disappointed when we checked into our room, as the "oceanfront superior view" room we had reserved turned out to have a lovely view of the parking lot and septic system. After going to the front desk to point out our lack of view we paid for, we were told that if "you stand at the far edge of the […] balcony and turn, you can see the ocean". We asked to change rooms, even offering to pay more for the view we booked. The front desk merely moved us to the same room, but in the other tower with a view of the roof over the lobby and the courtyard -- still no ocean. Les mer

This hotel is in a great location close to shopping and restaurants. It is right on the beach and has a nice pool. It is an old, tired hotel. It is clean for the most part, but just needs a good remodel!

We were very pleased with the hotel. Several reviews we read before booking the room stated very long check in times, ours took maybe 15 minutes. The room had a very comfortable king bed, flat screen tv and newly remodeled bathroom. Even being in the back of the building we still had a view of the ocean and a nice view of the city. Plenty of beach chairs […] and huts but be sure to reserve them the afternoon before. We will definately go back to the Holiday Inn. Les mer

aruba is expensive, holiday inn is somewhat affordable, but no room service, a clueless and slow front desk. Its nice for families and all the little kids make the place fun. great location next to beach and mall. Lacks the wow factor of the nearby hotels but those places cost more.

It was a great vacation spot with a very fine beach and swimming pools and walking distance to movie theaters, shopping and fine restaurants. The price was right. They just need more staff to deal with so many visitors and the rooms need to be refurbished. The pool bar and restaurant needs a new menu! A very good value for the price, especially considering the location. For breakfast, we thought the Hyatt about 100 yards away had a much more attractive setting for only a few $$ more than the Holiday Inn.

I stayed with my family for 4 days recently and we had a great time. The restaurants in the hotel are fine and affortable and the personnel is helpful. The location of the hotel is excellent.

Long lines for check-in. Battery operated, sensored AC turned off at night. Could have better beds. Best thing about hotel is location. Needs updating. Some staff could be friendlier!

I would put this hotel in as a 2 star as the rooms are clean, but they are very old and in need of repair. I was very dissapointed with facility. The building we were in was far from the mail building and noisy, looked like a regular hotel, no Island or tropical decor. Nice enough for a 2 star, not 3. In addition, the food was over priced at the hotel. […] Very reasonalble in the surrounding area. We will not trust Hotels.com's start rating again or have confidence that a reservation confirmation number. As in our case, no reservation had been made. We had to show proof of confirmation and wait at least and hour before we were given a room. This place had to be at least 20 years old and even though renovated, it still should not show as 3 star. the hotel was nice. room clean. the location was convenient to shopping and dining. the only thing was that the employees were not too friendly. maybe because they do some all inclusive, the bartenders seemed to have an attitude.

I liked it! it was fun and excited to be there after so many years when I used to go with my parents and sister, in other words when I was a girl. The hotel was superb, the stores, the pools next to the beach, the breakfast in the mornings, the attention. One thing that I didn't like much was the last building where we stayed, besides being deteriorated […] especially in the balcony, it was too far away. I think we deserved better... Just got back from 1 week at the Sunspree. My two kids; 3 and 7 loved the pool and quick beach access. We did the all inclusive option and found enough variety in the food so that we were all happy. My top two complaints about this hotel are that the hot tubs are not hot at all; same temp as the pool and Wifi is not free in your rooms and difficult […] to access for free in the lobby. Aside from this and for the price and location it is a great value. Staff are not overly friendly but they don't make a lot of tips I doubt bc of the all inclusive option.. We didn't sweat it. We spent 6 nights at the Holiday Inn in Aruba. We were very satisfied with the location, service, and cleanliness of the rooms. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful, and both check-in and check-out were speedy.

The hotel was old and not that clean...will not stay there again.

The hotel was sad and tired. The beds were clean and comfortable but the bathroom was not so nice. After half a night with the A/C on I had severe respiratory problems which lasted throughout the trip. The rest of my vacation was affected by this. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel was Ok. The selection at the restaurants was not very large and we were glad we did not purchase the all inclusive. Work needed done on the interior and exterior of the hotel. It was a little run down. Breakfast at Coral's was mediocore and actually upset my stomach. I will be staying at a different hotel my next stay in Aruba.

The hotel was close to everything.Dining, shopping, gambling , the beach and nightlife. There is a lot of smoking everywhere but the beach is beautiful, the pool is nice, the balconies were lovely. The customer service is the worst thing about the hotel. The front desk was rude when we called to request some one come check our room safe. Our room safe […] did not work it took 2 hours and 4 maintenance men to change the door then add batteries to the new door. I chose this hotel because it was a family oriented hotel but, in fact it wasn't. If you don't pay for an all inclusive package you have to pay for any of the hotel amenities. There were no shows, you must wake up literally with the sun to obtain a hut with lounge chairs, & you must move your lounge chairs yourself. There were no teen clubs or activities […] for my 16 yr old son. Overall I just wasn't happy with my choice of hotel. The hotel truly needs a facelift. Les mer

The area is nice but the hotel definitely doesn't reflect the "One Happy Island" spirit of Aruba. Staff are not helpful. Room was fine. Rooms were clean and hotel was nice enough. An occasional smile or "how can I help you" from the staff would make this a much much nicer place to stay.

Have stayed at the Holiday Inn previously and it has not changed. It is still in need of updates and service is poor. Rooms are outdated and need repair. Would not recommend to anyone and will not stay there again.

Overall - The Holiday Inn does provide some value for your money, but do not expect to be overwhelm with the decor of the hotel. If you are a looking decor than maybe the Occidental or the Westin will be your better option. Unfortuantely, during my stay in Aruba (Tomas) tropical was off the coast, so it made the 1st two days of my trip not as adventrist, […] but the Hotel did have some activities that were non-water related for the kids, karaoke, Bingo, etc. on certain nights. The all inclusive package is worth the money if you are going to eat twice a day at the hotel and maybe step out for lunch as you do a little sight seeing. The Igauan Catina is a okay restaurant, but not something i would recommend unless you do not want to drive into downtown. Moka's (coffee shop) is a nice quaint spot for a morning cup of joe with a little kick it (tequila) at a reasonable price. The bar tenders are pretty friendly, but I do recomend being served at the Igauan Bar as this is where the party is hapening, also not to mention the grill makes pretty decent food. Tours- I was only able to to do the ATV tour and for anyone who has any adventurist spirit in them, this is the one for you. You get a little history mixed in with feeling apart of the culture when riding through streets of Aruba. I wanted to do Scuba, but as I mention Tomas put a damper on my plans. There is also a party bus option that I recommend to anyone who wants to get a little flavor of the islands. The people that work at the hotel are very kind. They help you in any way they can. They even gave me a hug the last day. Can't wait to go back to them in april next year!

My check in time was over 45 minutes and there were only 4 people in front of me. When I finally got to be checked in the lady acted as if she was doing me a favor by checking me in. They advertised internet in the rooms but there is none and you have to buy a wireless card from Aruba Setar to get internet and they don't even sell the cards at the desk. […] You go to a store located in the shops under the hotel to get the wireless card. The rooms are very dated. At least the one I got, old TV with no remote control. I complained and at 1.00 am they actually had to change my TV to one that they had a remote. The safe in my room could not open and when I asked for it to be fixed, the front desk insisted that I was not following the instructions, eventually maintainence came out and the safe lock was borken. I was given a food voucher after complaining about all my troubles the first day and when I tried to use it for room service I was told I can't but when up checking out the manager informed me that I could have. When I tried to check out I was told I had to return my hotel charge card. Walked all the way back to my room to get it, when I returned someone else checked me out and never asked for the card. When I enquired I was told I did not need it. The hotel is just not customer forcused. It's the oldest amogest all the new hotels in the high rise hotel district, you really get a sense of 1960 old in the hotel. "I WILL NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN AND AS LONG AS I LIVE WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NEVER STAY THERE" Finally if you want your room cleaned every day there is a room charge for cleaning, beat that. On WIFI in rooms,Air Conditioning is noise and don't work properly, Taxis prices make no sense

The building of Holidays Inn we stayed is in bad shape, in particular bathrooms. Spotted mirrors and old, damaged bathtub. Also, most outrageous thing is thast in order to get the umbrella you have to wake up in 6:30 AM and rush to the line to wait until "bosses" open their "shop" at 7:30 AM to grant you umbrella. If you came at 7AM forget about umbrella […] and go cry about it. You won't be able to stay on the beach that day. Ruined family vacation. Les mer

After a long flight it took 3 hours standing in line to check in. It is the worst I have ever seen with a hotel. People were starting to fight in line, litterally ready to punch because of irritation with the staff. Dangerous situation with angry "vacationers"

The hotel was fairly easy to get to. Once you there your greated by the bellhops at the door. Fortunately there was only about 2 couples ahead of us. But, right adjacent the front desk is a small bar where you can get a refreshing drink while you wait which was not all that long. Once my wife and I finally got up to our room we checked out the room […] which was clean and had a great view from the balcony. We were a bit hungry so we decided to check out the restaurants along the strip. There was a great selection of restaurants to choose from. Before I forget to mention for the coffee drinkers there is a Dunkin Donuts about 1 block to the right of the hotel. The restaurants we ate at were: Salt & Pepper Great food (a little note about the place.. if you bring in a salt & pepper shaker not taken from the hotels or other restaurants you get a free glass of wine). Tony Roma's, across from the hotel all I am going to say is disappointing. The Buccaneer, find this restaurant is was great take my word for it it (It is down the block from the Wendy's and the Quicky Likey Laundromat. Back to the points of the hotel. Beautiful beach (remember if you want a cabana reserve one), many water sports and excursions (Look for Jeff at the concierge desk or the kiosk next to the casino) He was the best. The hotel has three restaurants (2 need reservations the last one is open) They were all really good. As if you probably know the island is a moderately priced but can get pricey. This hotel offers great price for what you get which allows you to enjoy the activities available. I highly recommend this hotel it was clean, comfortable, centrally located and reasonably priced. Just one last thing enjoy your stay and don't forget to have a Balashi. Les mer

you can walk to everything shops,restaurants etc...large beach area ,a lot of water sports,and a very lively atmosphere,something always going on! WI-FI service hard to get ,would be better off going to internet cafe ascross the street

located on a great beach and near everything, nightly entertainment on the beach was great fun, you can walk everywhere or take the bus downtown..

The HI provides a good room on the beach for much less than most of the Aruba high-rise hotels.

Booked a Premier Ocean Front all inclusive non smoking room,got 2nd floor smoking room that reeked of smoke.No other ocean front rooms available that were non smoking king rooms during our entire stay.Clothes that weren't worn smelled of smoke when we got home.Would not spend the extra money for ocean front next time if not able to accomodate.If not […] for the location probably wouldn't stay there again. Shower had very little warm not hot water.Requested King non smoking room got king smoking room that stunk,even clean clothes in suite case smelled when we got home.Was told by front desk that no other premium ocean front non smoking rooms available only double beds and nothing would be open for our entire stay.Not acceptable.

Because I didn't pay much to begin with for this hotel room I was not expecting anything grand. When we first arrived the hotel room was filthy, as it probably had not been cleaned from the guests before us. We were put in the furthest tower away from the actual main entrance to the hotel, which I am assuming is their low-moderate price accommodation. […] The staff was very polite and accommodating anything we asked, so even though the hotel room itself was rather disgusting the stay itself was okay. I will say the beach is fantastic. I would return just to sip pina coladas on the beach because they make them very well here. Les mer

The room looked worn out and was in need of repairs. The door to the balcony had its handle broken and could not be locked. The air conditioning was not functioning but the fan was high all night and could not be stopped (The room I moved to the next day had the AC unit leaking water which caused the people in the room the floor below to have to change […] room). When requesting a room change, the hotel manager insisted that another room would not be available until 4 pm (in mid-September, the low season). He also insisted that he not be interrupted when he laid out the rules of the hotel. There was only one person manning the check in/out counter at most hours, for a hotel with 3 towers of 600 rooms. While I waited in a long line, hotel clerks would come in and out of the back office behind the counter, but never help out. They never made eye contacts with the guests waiting in line, and pretended that the line did not exist. Les mer

Check-In is one of slowest I have ever experienced at any Holiday Inn. I spend at least 50 mins upon arrival and then another 40 to check out where I simply turned my key in... the lines weren't long, just the counter workers were slow. Great Beach, the surrounding area is safe and you can walk or take the public bus anywere downtown for $4.00 usd […] round trip. Make sure to ask driver for round trip ticket. We did not do the all inclusive. The near-by restuarants were a little expensive, but downtown you can find some local joints off the main road and they are good priced and well protioned meals. We felt so safe in Aruba, almost like we had never left the US. Les mer

Você estará perto de tudo e em frente a uma bela praia de onde você pode sair direto para piscina do hotel. Atendimento atencioso mesmo sendo um grande hotel. O custo benefício é bom considerando a região e preços locais.

Hotel excelente, super bem localizado, esta ao lado de 2 malls, tem tudo bem perto do hotel. Quanto as acomodações muito bom também, único problema foi o carpete no quarto, para quem tem problemas com isso, o restante recomendo. Ficaria no hotel em outra oportunidade com certeza.
