"Amer. Best Value Inn- Reading PA"
I have never stayed in a filthier Hotel. There was dirt in the hallways. There was urine on the toilet. One towel was obviously dirty. There were no washcloths. The bathtub was disgusting and peeling off. The toilet itself was an industrial type that you would see in a public restroom. Our reservation was incorrect (not the fault of Hotels.com but of […] the personnel not knowing how to correctly access it). If it would't have been for the fact that we had an engagement to attend in Reading, we would have cancelled the reservation. Be warned. Les mer
"Overall good but not for Asthmatics"
The overall hotel stay was good. The only problems were (1) the toilet leaked in room 116 and immediately absorbs into the floor tiles. (2) the hallway has a musty, molding smell and needs to be treated and aired out. We had to quickly enter our room or exit the building to escape the smell in the hallway. Because of the air quality in the hallway it […] was difficult to breathe. The overall stay was nice. The rooms are large, the staff was extremely helpful, the hotel is close to downtown Reading and local shops. I would recommend this hotel after the mugginess in the hallway was treated. Les mer
"Dont Stay Here"
I have been going to this hotel for at least 15 yrs, its changed hands many times. This year however will be my last time. The room was disguisting and smelled, the front desk people were rude and the pool looked like it hadnt been cleaned in a week.

The worst hotel I've ever stayed at. * Airconditioner not running well on 100 degree day * Mini fridge was broken * Bathtub was filthy and unsuable -- handtowel on tub was actually gray! * No washcloths provided * Broken door in hallway *Lighting in room was poor I won't be staying again .

-Convenient location to Mid-Atlantic Air Museum, several 24/7 diners within a 10 minute drive for reasonable priced meals -poor wifi access in rooms -security doors open at all-hours (not very secure) -one staff was very knowledgeable of local restaurants
"Filthiest Hotel"
This place was by far the filthiest hotel i ever stayed in. We checked for bed bugs,there was no ne. However the mold in bathroom,filth of carpet,windows was by far disgusting. I will never use your service again.
"this hotel is close to the Soverign Center"
this is the reason we chose this hotel...I chose it over other in the area because it was priced higher so I figured it would be nicer...its an old motel..and I understand there is upkeep...but the towels that were supplied looked like my scrub rags...very dingey..like they needed to be bleached...we were only staying one night...and I just overlooked […] that...I would not recommend this hotel for the Reading area... "could not be worse"
There were two women at the check -in desk, one of them had no interest in us, she actually was annoyed and said "I don't have time for this sh.." right in front of us; the other one was new and not sure what she was doing. Nobody told us that there is a night club there, my vehicle was damaged, somebody severely scratched my vehicle, bent the license […] plate, and the glass on my wind shield is cracked. Les mer
"Enjoyed"
I really enjoyed myself i went to the convention of Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed my stay the staff is very friendly i enjoyed the bar they have the best wings money can buy, not to far from the Sovereign Center i took the Bierber Bus there except on Sundays there are closed, you get a cab... I really had a wonderful time, what I didn't like they didn't […] have complimentry breakfast, so maybe they will upgrade one day, but it was good Les mer
"would stay agin"
This turned out to be a much better stay than we had last year in July.The room was clean, including the bathroom.Beds were very comfortable and air conditioning worked well.We were booked for 3 nights but needed to stay an extra night which did not cause any problems,we did not have to change rooms.I spoke directly to the new manager about my stay […] last year and she was very concerned and helpful with this stay.I'm so hlad things went well because we travel to Pa.several times a year and this hotel is so close to everything I would hate to have to stay somewhere else. The hotel was clean and had a good restaurant attached to the premises although they weren't open for breakfast. The hotel was located well for our needs.

Very fun place with a great bartender named Nikki. About the only place open past 9 pm in the area. A definite reason to stay at this hotel

"NEEDS IMPROVEMENT"
THE HOTEL IS IN A CONVENANT LOCATION, AND THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY, BUT THEY NEED A NEW MAINTENANCE STAFF, THE BATHTUB FULLS WITH WATER WHEN YOU ARE TAKING A SHOWER AND TAKES 5MIN. TO DRAIN, THERE WERE LAMPS WITH BURNED OUT LIGHT BULBS, ROOMS NEED TO BE UPDATED. AND THEY NEED SECURITY TO KEEP THE NOISE DOWN LATE AT NIGHT SO PEOPLE CAN SLEEP.

The bathroom was very nasty looking but it was clean. The repairs that had been made in the past were not good quality and the tub looked stained and dirty but it wasn't. On Friday night, the music from the bar was so loud I could hear it in my room which wasn't pleasant. The phone in the room didn't work and some of the lights in the room didn't work. My husband and I stayed 2 Nights at The Americas Best Value Inn hotel. it was alright i mean it got the job job we slept really good bed was amazing! but we couldnt shower because the shower head was really gross. the location of the hotel was perfect. close to everything u want! this is a good place to stay!
"Horrid"
From the cigarrete smell in the room to the cat smells in the hallway and the mildew stains on the bathtub which was painted over; it was not worth the money the hotel charged. It was more like a $39 a night no-tell motel. Niether ice machine worked and the supposedly locking door to the rear of the hotel let anyone through at any time of the night. […] Spend a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else. I would have if they hadn't been all booked up for WWII weekend so far in advance. Les mer
"Dirty, Loud, and Unsafe"
I thought something was off when I was told to park in a "secure" parking area and asked to give details about my car "in case something happened." Then, when the "secure" parking area consisted of an orange traffic cone and a chain, I started to worry. When the parking attendant went missing and I had to park in the parking lot of the bar next door […] I had pretty much given up on the condition of the hotel. The room was filthy, there was a hole in the wall, the tub was full of soap scum and there was no security in the building resluting in a 2am shouting match in the hallway between a bunch of drunk guys. Please don't stay here. There are other hotels in this price range in the area. Save yourself the trouble and book there. Les mer
"Horrible"
This was by far the worst hotel experience I have had. The room was filthy and looked as if it hadn't been cleaned-vacuumed, dusted in quite some time. The bathroom was the worst. The shower had mold and dirt in it and there was profanity written on the mirror. After using the shower- the disgusting message appeared- again indicating that the mirror […] also had not been cleaned. There was noise outside-reminiscent of a college block party until 3am. When we attempted to call the front desk we discovered the phones did not work. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. When I inquired about the noise at the front desk I was told "sometimes its like that." Had I known this ahead of time I would have never booked this location and I surely will not return. Les mer
