"nice but pricey hotel in a great location."
I recently stayed at the Mills House for 2 nights for work. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and responsive, the rooms and common areas were clean and the location in the historic city were hard to beat. However, I was a little disappointed with the size and furnishings of my room, which certainly didn't meet my expectations given the rate. Also […] while I was appreciative of the free wireless internet, it was unreliable and slow and I would have preferred to pay for a more consistent connection. Also, while the hotel pool area is beautiful, the best I can say for the exercise room was that I had it all to myself. The equipment consists of a single nautilus type weight machine, an elliptical, 1 recumbent and 1 upright bike and a single treadmill which stops abruptly based upon a wall timer. Still, the location and staff were more than enough to compensate for the few shortcomings and I had an enjoyable stay. Les mer

Our room had a very oisy AC drone that drove my wife crazy in.the middle of the night. The hotel graciously gave us a partial refund.

"Mills House Hotel in Charleston - disappointing"
Location in historic Charleston is wonderful, but room and service were disappointing. Room was crowded with too much furniture and not of high quality. There was no "do not disturb" sign and, as a result, I was awakened early on a Sunday morning. Upon arrival, I had to prompt the bellman to help me with bags. It took a long time to retrieve car from […] valet. Biggest problem was when I relied on printed material in room to time a room service delivery. "A wonderful Christmas"
My husband and I took my mother to Charleston for three days over Christmas. Mills House was beautifully decorated, perfectly located and staffed by the most helpful people! We were able to walk everywhere and were just across Queen from several fine restaurants. We will be back
"Only one issue - worn out mattress"
The mattress in my room, 311, needs to be replaced. And, the bathroom is small. Otherwise, a great place to stay! Great location and the parking garage us directly behind the hotel. Same tacky bed and canopy treatments.

The hotel was beautiful and a great location. However, there were so many private events going on at the Hotel that many of the areas (bars, lobby, restuarants) were closed or overcrowded. Over all it was a very pleasant experience. The only thing that could be improved is not having cleaning carts blocking the halls in the morning. More coffee creamer would also be nice.

We checked our car at the front of the Hotel through the Valet Service. Checked in our room and it was so pretty and had a wonderful view of the Patio and pool area. There is a Parking deck behind the Inn if you had rather use that. They had a lovely gift shop and restaurant that you could sit in or out that was lovely. Rob in Hotel Services was the […] best as well as all the staff and when you rang for Valet your car, it was out front in a snap! There are historic Churches down the street. A lovely antique store out front, Poogan's Porch Restaurant beside the Hotel and many streets to walk and see so many historic sites that you don't even need your car...Just a great stay and I am sure they had something to do with the fab weather also...I would stay again anytime.. Location is fabulous for seeing the historic area. You can walk almost everywhere. we had a great corner room on the sixth floor with a view of both the water and Meeting Street. We had a glitch with reservations -- the hotel initially had the wrong category of room but they made up for it by giving us an adjoining living room to make a suite. I think more than 1000 words would be needed to fully understand the great time we had on this trip. Everything was outstanding the room the staff and the entire city of Charleston, what an experience. We will be back!

Just blocks from City Market and the Battery, this hotel is in a great location. It also has a wonderful courtyard with a fountain where you can have a meal or a drink. From the dinner meal on their most pleasant terrace to breakfast in Barbados breakfast room, the hospitality at the Mills House can not be beat! I have used this venue as my Charleston home-away-from-home for over 30 years, through sunshine and hurricanes, and have never been disappointed!

Great location, within walking distance of shopping and attractions. Hotel was beautiful and charming. Staff was nice, friendly and helpful. Got the room with the breakfast plan which worked out well for us and with large portions we only ate breakfast and dinner. Would definately recommend to others.
Very nice hotel,historic,also. Rates were fair for Charleston. Would return, but would also like to try some other historic hotels. Parking is problem,as it is in all cities were I've been. A beautiful city!!

Had a great stay at the Mills Hotel. The location is by far the best asset of the hotel. However, the hotel staff was extremely friendly and the service was very good. The room was very acceptable for the stay. Had a great time in Charleston and would stay at the Mills House again.

Our hotel room was very comfortably decorated and cozy, with everything we needed. The views were great and the bathroom well appointed. The hotel bar was very classically decorated and comfortable. W thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Would have been nice if they offered coffee in the am. patio area was lovely, spent most ot our time there when in the hotel. service was great. people checking in at desk were very helpful. was our third time at hotel and it was everything we expected.

Mills House service is excellent! Situated right in the middle of historic Charleston. A good walk to all the top tourist attractions, city market, Hymans Seafood, historic home tours, city park etc... A great place to stay if you want to be in the middle of it all in Charleston.
we were in room 622 and it was a very noisy room . You heard equipment close to room running all night long. And the bed was extremely firm. But the hotel was beautiful and great location.
