Enkelt og bra hotell i Europeisk stil (les: litt shabby), meget sentralt. Hyggelig betjening, rent og ikke spesielt lytt. Veldig bra valuta for pengene. Anbefales!

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt til med kort vei til det meste. Komfortabelt, rent og god service. Gratis vinsmaking og nakkemassasje ved siden av resepsjonen fra 17-18 (meget praktisk etter en hektisk dag med sightseeing og shopping). :-)

Et fint og rent hotell med hyggelige ansatte. Ingenting negativt å si om hotellet, men nabolaget har en del uteliggere i noen kvartaler ned mot sentrum. Opplevde derimot ikke noe ubehagelig. Det er også svært kort vei ned til sentrumsområdet og Market street, og taxi er veldig billig slik at man slipper å gå på kveldstid. Fint hotell i forhold til hvor billig det var!

Hotellet ligger svært sentralt både for shopping og opplevelser i San Francisco. Vi trivdes svært godt der, og vil sannsynligvis vurdere hotellet neste gang vi skal til San Francisco. Hotellet er litt slitt, men rent og hyggelig. Personellet er ikke overhjelpsomme, men tar man kontakt og spør om hjelp så hjelper de deg!

"Convenient location without the SF price tag"
The room was clean and comfortable, staff was friendly, and the location is just a couple of miles away from the Bay Bridge and access to San Francisco tourist sites. You won't find the most modern amenities, and the fixtures do show the property's age. The neighborhood surrounding it is also less than pristine but we felt comfortable walking a couple […] of blocks around it at night with our pooch. Considering that the price was significantly lower than the South San Francisco and downtown areas, the value for the money was great. Definitely recommended. Les mer

"Unpleasant Odors"
Staff were really friendly. However, our room had an awfull stench of urine mixed with other oders that was very unpleasant. I would not stay here ever again!

Older building. Not enough electrical outlets. Only one chair by desk. No other chairs. On the plus side, no parking charge or extra charge for wifi.

The wi-fi would not work in the room, the carpet was stained and dirty, the air conditioner blew smelly dust into the room, the TV had few stations, bad reception, two light bulbs were burned out or lamp not working, no mini bar or fridge as in ads. HBO folder but no HBO. Confirmed reservation with number but hotel clerk (who was very nice) could not […] find our reservation -- took an extra half hour at the end of a long day to get into our room. Les mer

Hotel was clean. Good breakfast. Could not use the Business center computer because someone stole the cables from the printer. Management was supposed to replace cables but never did while I was there. Did not like the fact that no one was at the front desk when ever I came back to the hotel at night. At arrival the room looked nice and was clean. Very comfortable until you try to sleep. The ceiling is very thin and you can hear every movement from the room above you. At 1:00 am or so all the furniture and walls begin vibrating. Im not sure what this was, my guess is a freight train (train tracks very close) but they are aware of this because the […] furniture sits away from walls, including the toilet was pretty far from wall. Probably to keep furniture from making too much noise.They don't bother mentioning this to you at check in (of course!). The following day there was no hot water.Apparentley the hot water heater went out. Every time we called down to desk they would say about an hour. Hot water didn't come on till 9:00 pm that night. We have a two year old which being in the city and touching everything, hot water is important for washing hands not to mention who pays $$$ for a room with no hot water? Their motto is "if your not 100% satisfied, the night is free" HA! With all of this they offered us 10% discount on ONE night and I have yet to see this. They also charged me for a night there on a credit card he ran, then told me he couldn't use because it is pre-paid, but charged it anyway. So long story short, got charged 3 nights for two horrible nights of sleep and no showers. DONT stay here...believe it or not the super 8 and the quality inn in Berkeley, CA MUCH BETTER HOTELS!!!! I have stayed at this hotel before. It has a wonderful full complimentary breakfast & for the price, is the reason I booked again. They are very friendly, have free wifi and are convenient to walk to restaurants. Would use again.

Place was right off Hwy 80, easy on/off, was clean, in a quiet neighborhood, parking was adequate, only complaint was they ended the continental breakfast too early at 0930 on New Years Day, I was out quite late that night!

Stayed in mid Sept 2011. Breakfast pretty good. Room didn't have do not disturb sign, called to have room NOT serviced (staying for 6 days) they serviced it anyway. . . :( Once I got a sign, they stayed out, but slipped the "couldn't service the room...." blurb under the door EVERY DAY....don't they check the reservations to see what's up?) Ice machine […] on 2nd floor out of order for all but last day of my stay. Elevator didn't work from Sun- Tues of my stay. Front desk pleasant, but not attentive- alerted them to a planter watering overflow near the breakfast room on polished tile floor - very slippery/ very hazardous- no wet floor signs, puddle hidden by reflection. Clerk thanked me for notifying, then proceeded to ignore the notice (10 min later, puddle still there- notified her again, not sure of disposition as I was leaving). Neighborhood okay, wouldn't walk there too late too often. Close by (within 20-30 blocks) many Cafes, Foster's Freeze (yes they still exist!!!) not far up street toward UC Berkeley. Trader Joes near that, Grocery Outlet 3 blocks toward F'way Bed comfortable but TV channels not as indicated in blurb on table in room. bathtub clean but non-slip bathmat not. Fridge not turned on when arrived, but worked well for stay once staff turned it on (switch not where I could do it). One lamp in room didn't work. everything else was satisfactory -- no "black feet" after barefoot trips across the carpet as in reviews of other locations; sink in bathroom had reversed handles for H & C water but I've seen this in so many hotels, I can't call it a fail. I'd stay there again, but I think I'd be a little more strict on the things not quite up to par. I'd give it 2 and a half stars. Maybe 3. . . . Les mer

The location is good. Staff were friendly. The mattresses were not orthopedic and hard. But they were clean. The breakfast was great.

Stayed in 3 places while traveling. This was least expensive and best. Particularly liked the desk in the room and the extra electrical strip. Free breakfast was nice also. Only thing missing was hot tub.

"Only picked it for the location"
We were visiting family nearby so picked this hotel. Nothing special, certainly expensive for the neighborhood. Our stay was fine, but would try a different place next time.
"Fit the bill"
We were in Berkeley for one night to meet up with family for a wedding. La Quinta was just fine. We got a good price and the breakfast was more than adequate. The hot items were especially appreciated. Safe walking around the area in daylight with a companion.

the doors don't always close/lock when you leave the room. Double check when you leave. When I went to plug my lap top in, every electrical outlet was dislodged from the wall.

My son and I were greeted warmly by the reservation/front staff and made to feel instantly comfortable. My family and I have stayed at this Inn before and the service is excellent. Thank you!
overall it's a descent hotel for the price you pay, the room was clean and bed was comfortable. the breakfast close at 9.30 so make sure you get up on time. The gym had some broken equipment, but nothing major. I would stay with La Quinta inn again.

Great hotel at a great price. The location is near UC Berkeley, right off the freeway. Our dog was with us and they were great! No problem at all!
Clean, close to our party, and nice to have breakfast in the morning. Nice price.

Stayed there 3 days. Friendly and helpful staff willing to take time to give directions and recommendations. Close to I-580. Near some quaint and interesting shops and good restaurant. Room was clean. Bed had good mattress. Great free breakfast. Parking lote fenced and gated with plenty parking.

If you dont mind the odor of "skunk" that you smell on the 1st floor...and enjoy a great breakfast that includes a waffle bar...fruit, yogurt and many other treats...you will love this place...we always request a top floor room!

Hotel's right off the freeway. Can't miss it. Looks like it was recently remodeled, all paint and decor are new. Rooms are about average size for this kind of hotel. Eggs, bacon, hash, hardboiled eggs, dif types of bread, make-your-own waffles with all the fixins and bunch of other stuff. I was full and i can eat!
