Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa - Lake Buena Vista

Our bags were brought to our room only after we requested they be sent up. Our lagoon view was blocked by a tree. The concierge had all sorts of trouble booking our dinner at Disney. Then when we arrived at the restaurant, they didn't have our reservation. No one would help us get to the self-parking lot. Had to walk.

Great hotel. Just an average room for the price, but top shelf in every other aspect. Pool construction noisy -- check before you go!

This hotel property is beautiful and well maintained. There is quite a bit of construction currently underway which can be a bit distracting when at the pool but it didn't spoil our stay. The location is great. The staff is abundant and available to address your needs. We had been at the Magic Kingdom on the Sunday before President's Day and the crowds […] were obnoxious. I am not sure how anyone could enjoy Disney World with the overcrowding we experienced. When we arrived back at the Grand Floridian, the staff asked how our day was and when we shared that it was less than optimal, they were awesome. One random note is that the staff in the main floor dining room that serve breakfast could use a makeover in their "costumes." They look very dumpy and the clothing is not very flattering. Good hotel overall. What I especially enjoyed was that it was a really nice hotel, but you were not afraid to take your young children to the restaurant, as I may be at a traditional higher end hotel. We were upgraded to a spectacular suite, which made our stay memorable and an outstanding experience. I DO NOT Waste my time writing reviews, but after my "experience" last week I had to and only hope someone from Disney reads and reacts to this. I splurged and spent the extra money on the Grand Floridian because I've always hoped I could stay there...This time I did and was just NOT Happy. Main pool was closed, Spa Closed, Bus Stop closed and relocated […] for 2 days, It's also a contruction site because they're building villas there. Signs all say refurbished for future use...What about this time for me? My MAIN issue was the lack of cleaning and "Customer follow thru" they had. The phone in the room did not work for 2 days (had to call for reservations and the valet from my cell) and then the bathroom. I spoke with the front desk about the phone and the Sprinker Head in the bathroom on our 3rd night of a 7 night stay. The Sprinkler head was disgusting and covered in mold (I have the pictures to prove it) I was told housekeeping would take care of it immediatly...Guess that means on our immediate departure. I would have kept complaining but got the flu and was sick on my last 2 days. For the xxx Thousands it costs to stay in a resort like this I was just let down I guess.. Les mer

Greeted right away in Disney style. Check in with Penny was a dream. She went out of her way to find us a room that was satifactory in location. The room was beautiful. Getting to the monorail was easy. We would recommend it to anyone.

Common areas and grounds are beautiful. Best part of hotel is transportation to Magic Kingdom: monorail to Magic Kingdom and boat home and that's what you are paying for. The rooms are nice but of course not what you imagine for the $. This was our second stay at this hotel and our 7th trip to WDW. We stayed in a ground floor room with a view of the castle. At first we were disappointed with the view of the castle from the ground floor and then properly realized that the hotel was not very high anyway. First time there, not what we expected but still wonderful. The Christmas decor was gorgeous. Disney service was great. I'd go back.

Room was clean, location and monorail access very convenient. A little pricey, but an experience worth the cost. Magical Express was the way to go...just check the bags and see them in your room. Very courteous hotel staff and they keep all the facilities clean in spite of the large number of clientele. Only slight knock is the restaurants are just ok.

Stay at the Grand Floridian anytime we go to Disney World. Beautifully maintained; friendly staff members. Right on Monorail which made travel to the theme parks easy. This trip was at Christmas and the hotel was absolutely gorgeous. Large number of non-guests stopped at the hotel just to see the decorations.

The Grand Floridian is a fabulous hotel. Aside from the beautiful architecture, it is the most convenient hotel to the Magic Kingdom. The staff are very friendly, but I would say this is likely the case for all the Disney hotels....that's just the Disney way.

Disney knows Customer Service. Every staff (cast) member goes out of their way to meet any need you may have. For us that included the bell hop who brought our bags calling the restaurants to help us get a reservation for dinner. My one warning would be to make dining reservations ahead of time.

Rooms and food are average, but the location and service is great. Pool was wonderful for young kids.

The hotel was all we could ask for and we thourghly enjoyed our stay, wishing we had planned a longer one. The food, service, staff and the room, etc were wonderful. Would absolutely recommend it to everyone.

Wonderful place for couples with no children. VERY quiet room, relaxing deck to come home to after a busy day. Loved the view of the lake and the convenience of the monorail and boats! VERY fun!

What disappointed me was for the price we spent in this hotel their was not enough room in the hotel restaurants. We always had to wait for a table at least 30 mins or more for breakfast. And forget dinner, because we were only able to make reservations for Saturday at 5:15. Who eats dinner at 5:15! We tried to make reservations elsewhere for Sunday […] and also had trouble getting in at a normal dinner hour. Had to eat real early or real late:( The excuse given was that they have hotel guests and non hotel guests eating here so it's busy and full. I would recommend they give priority to hotel guests! Terrible. Extremely far from front of hotel to room. Very small old room. poor lightning. Very expensive. Never again will we stay at a Disney hotel!

I expected much better quality and service for the money charged and spent at this "upscale hotel." We had minor issues that were readily and easily corrected. However we requested a King bed when we booked this trip. We were put in a room with an adjoining room. After two days of our stay a family with three yound children were put in the adjoining […] room next to my wife and I. They screamed and yelled for over an hour with the TV blasting. It took three calls to the front desk to get any quiet. The baby then woke up at 3 AM and screamed for an hour waking us up. We were at the front desk at 6:30 AM and asked for a new room. We were accomadated but not before another 2 hours of screaming coming from the room next door. Management did not understand that we believe disney should go above and beyond in one of their most expensive hotels and see that an older couple with no children is in one adjoining room and not place a family with young children next door in the adjoining room. LOVED IT!!! Best Disney hotel. From the wallpaper to the bedding to marble floors, you can find mickey everywhere. Great character meals in the hotel too. Being on the monorail is a huge advantage with small children. pool was nice and it is being expanded to have a kids play area.

4th trip to Disney, 3rd time to the Grand Floridian. Perfect place to stay in Disney. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. Monorail on the second level or boat dock to Magic Kingdom. The restaurants are better than just good, Grand Floridian Cafe a good choice. Pool is amazing. A bit pricey but I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Disneyworld.

The hotel is very beautiful on the exterior. The rooms are small and the bathroom (for a standard room) is very small but clean. The 2 restaurants we dined at (Narcoosie's and Citrico) were excellent. The food was fresh and inventive and the wine list was extensive and had some great vintage wines. It was my second very good experience at Grand Floridian. My first was five years ago and hope to come back.

Inconveniences: 1) Once magical express bus drops you off at the hotel, transportation off property, except monorail/buses into some of the parks, is on you. No additional vans to/from the airport. A cab ride can cost $75 o/w! 2) Business center leaves much to be desired. Isn't opened 24/7. 3) A late check out request has to be approved by housekeeping! 4) […] Empty refrigerators in the rooms, not even complementary bottles of water. 5) Reservations to restaurants are difficult to come by. Only Gasparilla's is opened round the clock. The atmosphere like McDonald's w/arcade games. Outrageous prices too! For luxury hotels...the Plaza in NYC or Villa D'Este on Lake Como. This doesn't come close. 6) If Idea to stay here for magic hours at parks, monorail schedule doesn't coincide/closes earlier. Again, no other courtesy transportation to get back. 7) Front desk telephone number is not available to the public. You go through a central Disney call center. They won't give you the front desk number for you to ask specific questions or to leave to family members back home for emergency situations. Annoying to jump through hoops before getting info you need. 8) Guests aren't catered to. Hotel not able to have a rental car waiting for you. You have to go get it and bring it back yourself. You have to schedule with the rental company to come and pick you up to go get the car/drop you off when you turn it in. Alamo only 2 miles away! Les mer

Beautiful grand hotel. The property is breathtaking and the service is one of the best I have experienced. There are a couple of excellent restaurants and a cafeteria open 24 hrs. It has monorail and boat service to Disney and Epcot. It is a great place for a family vacation in Orlando.
