"Sentralt i forhold il det meste"Anmeldt av en hotels.com-gjest den mai 7, 2012
Meget bra hotell, lett å komme rundt i byen
"Super beliggenhet nær Union Square og Chinatown"Anmeldt av en hotels.com-gjest den apr 29, 2012
Enkelt og bra hotell i Europeisk stil (les: litt shabby), meget sentralt. Hyggelig betjening, rent og ikke spesielt lytt. Veldig bra valuta for pengene. Anbefales!
"Great Value for Money"
I was very happy with this hotel. Pretty cheap (for San Francisco), rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff is very friendly. The district around can be a bit scary at night but it does not seem to be dangerous so I still do recommend this hotel. Maybe families with kids or girls/ladies traveling on their own only would prefer another area. The […] breakfast is very light but in front of the hotel you can find many very decent places to get a nice breakfast (Tony's Mega breakfast is at $5.99 for scrambled eggs + 2 slices of bacon + fruits + bread, this item was the most expensive on the menu). "Not bad"
As I confirmed my reservation rather late, most less expensive hotels in SF were already booked. This was among the not many remaining options. It is south of Market on 7th, walk to Market for 3 blocks or so and you get a lot of transportation. Walking distance to Union Square. Parking available free of charge, that is a big plus.
"Good location"
The location's good, convenient to take public transportation to all the attractions, and shopping center nearby. But the downtown neighborhood kind of dirty and smell bad, however, just for a small area.
"Knights Inn San Francisco"
Just recently stayed at this hotel. Its located on 7th Street which is very close to Market Street (The main shopping area) and i would recommend going elsewhere. The room was clean, but very noisy the walls are thin and the ambient noise is very loud. I believe there are better located hotels mainly the Holiday Inn (search downtown). At night homeless […] people would constantly ask you for money just walking a couple of blocks. I would recommend you look for something near pier 39 or the parks located near the science museum. "Knights Inn"
First it took almost one hour to check in, then the room had an foul odor, but even with all that the room was clean and very comfortable.
"Where do I start?"
My wife and I needed a place in the city due to our daughters surgery at Kaiser Hospital on Geary. This place was the only spot in the city with a vacancy in our price range. What can I say? We had spent 2 nights in the Cardio-Vascular ICU waiting room sleeping on chairs, a 3rd night in the 'reg' ICU room, thankfully on a couch. We were ready for a […] shower and bed. This place should be condemned. It is a real dump. My wife tells me we have stayed at worse places, but I'm still trying to remember when/where that is.... We drove in to the main parking and the hotel looked quaint enough....but then our room was across the street at the 'downtown' portion of the hotel. It was as if we'd been dropped into one of those labyrinths you see mice scrambling thru to get to our room. I was praying there wouldn't be a fire, because we'd never get out. The cable TV didn't work. The room was BADLY in need of updating and some serious deep cleaning. The mattress was wrapped in plastic, I suppose to ward off bedbugs: which we diligently searched for, thankfully, none were present. The bathroom light did not work. The shower was grimy and gross! The shower door would not open from the inside, fortunately, I discovered this first and could warn my wife not to panic! The room had no ventilation with the windows open and the a/c was noisy and ineffective because the nasty 70's era curtains covered the unit. I finally was able to prop the gargantuan phone book in such a way as to allow some air flow (and you thought you'd never use a phone book again!) All in all: we were desperate for a shower and bed, mostly the shower. THE KAISER WAITING ROOMS WERE MORE COMFORTABLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Les mer
"As Cheap As It Gets"
I was looking for a cheap hotel to stay at for only one night but it wasn't cheap enough for what we received. This place makes Motel 6 look like the Hilton. There is one guy working the whole hotel and, even though he was somewhat pleasant, he was clueless as to the facilities and how to accommodate the cliental. They offer the absolute bare minimum […] of toiletries & other normal hotel items, luckily for us we always bring all our own stuff. This place really needs new owners. I would highly recommend finding a different cheap hotel, unless they offer you a special rate of $10 a night because that is the max of what it is worth. Les mer
"Not a great place"
They say a lite breakfast is included and by that they mean a danish from the 99 cents store and a rotten coffee and orange juice that tastes water. Second day we stayed there they didn't even have the danish so it was just coffee and their so called orange juice. The area is pretty scary with lots of homeless and druggies. Not a good place to stay […] if you're with family. Les mer
"THE HOTEL KNIGHTS INN IN SF"
GREAT LOCATION! CLEAN ROOMS! RIGHT PRICE FOR THE HOTEL!
"The hotel Knights Inn in San Francisco"
Very nice location, walking distance to union square. Attendants were very nice, and the area was quiet. The only thing that bothered me was the bedspread and curtains looked a bit unclean and the blanket was very flimsy, thankfully I had a spare blanket in my car. Overall it was a nice place to stay.

"Knights Inn, San Francisco"
Close enough to transportation and food shops to make it convenient as a place to stay. Quiet during the night with a few clubs nearby if you wanted entertainment or dancing. I was happily surprised about the area in this downtown location.
no doubt the location is good, only a few blocks to get to the Market street and City hall. It's old furnished and the room is small but clean and comfort. Need to improve quality of breakfast
It is a cheap hotel and you get what you paid for

"knights inn - san francisco"
if you can afford a different place then book it. this motel has idiots running the front desk. the place needs a major renovation. the stairs are unsafe. elevator feels unsafe. the neighborhood is not a place you want to walk around at night. will never stay there again.
"Terrible"
This Hotel is nasty!!!! My girlfriend and I walked in and walked right out. We checked out immediately! We had to go thru decontamination procedures after going into that nasty room.
"Good for what it is"
The Knights Inn was very convenient-close to Rte 80 and right in downtown San Francisco. For me the price was right also considering that it was Memorial Day weekend and I had reserved my room only the night before. The room was no frills - which is to be expected for a budget hotel, but clean and comfortable enough. If one is looking to save money, […] be in a central location to most of San Francisco's sights and just needs a place to lay one's head down-this hotel should be ok for you. Les mer
"Rude, inconsiderate, and unsanitary"
I felt like I was treated like a farm animal. When I arrived at the hotel, I patiently waited to check in as 6 angry French travelers argued with the front desk attendant. Having worked at two hotels myself I felt bad for him and informed him that I had prepaid but had made arrangements with my parents to fill out third party papers to cover the incidental […] hold since I was low on money at the moment. He informed that this was not adequate and I still needed visual proof from my father to get into my room. This lasted three hours before finally getting resolved. I am disgusted that there was even the possibility I would have to worry about being stranded on the street for a night, but the manager wouldn't even try to be cooperative. To top it off, I never received any form of soap or shampoo, even after asking the front desk politely. This establishment should be condemned and demolished. Iv never had such a lousy experience. "Knights Inn"
The pictures are much nicer than the real thing! The bathroom was clean and fully functional and the room was to be expected of a one star hotel. The hallway to the room smelled and the flooring in the hall felt like it was going to give way. The neighborhood was a bit scary. Overall, as expected for a one star hotel, but the pictures make it look MUCH […] nicer than it actually is. I will not be staying here again. Les mer
"noisy wood floors"
If you want to have good night sleep', this is not a place to stay, specially if you are at the second building across the street. if you sneeze they hear you next door, any body walking upstairs , it is like banging in yr brain. addidionally very rude manager.
"Knight's Inn Hotel"
Hotel was located in a very shady part of the city. The elevator wasn't working and there are four floors to the hotel so you had to take the stairs to get to your room with all of your bags. The stairs you had to carry your bags up were kind of falling apart. To top it all off my room wasn't ready on time either.
"Nothing special"
For a cheap hotel it was about what I expected. Biggest complaint is that the floor was majorly slanted so my feet where higher than my head! I really don't sleep well like this so needless to say I would avoid this place if only for this reason.
"Good location"
Hotel manager made us and other wait until 3pm sharp before checking us into our hotel rooms. Besides that, this hotel is nicely location and close to Union Central however the surrounding area is less desirable due to poverty, homelessness, mental health issues of the neighboring people. If you are okay with that, this hotel provides a cheap alternative […] and is easy access to walking to AT & T Park, downtown, etc. Cleaning staff were excellent. Les mer

"Knights Inn - Downtown"
The room walls are very thin... you can hear everything...(people talking outside)etc. Also, I woke up and my throat was itchy... thinking the place may have mold?
"Knights Inn- Neither great, nor horrible."
This hotel was alright, I was neither displeased nor highly satisfied, it was good for the price. Do not try to 411 or google this hotel after you have booked it, we couldn't find it anywhere when we were searching for the address to get back. It is a bit of a walk from fisherman's wharf, but has a pretty nice central location if you are in town to […] sight-see and want to get a feel for everywhere. Castro street was a way's walk, as was mission district, but it was nice because it all looped back to the hotel. I would stay here again if visiting San Francicso. Les mer
"If you must"
The price was great, free parking is the best feature of this hotel. Convenient to the Moscone Center for the convention I was attending. Other than that, I had to open and close the gate upon entry every time I used my car. Would've been fine except that the gate wasn't in the best condition and I had to fight it to set it straight every time. The […] light in the bathroom was broken, when I made the manager aware he promised to fix it the next day but never came back. The light that WAS working was on a timer which we were not aware of and neither was the staff. When I first asked why the light went out she said there was no one available to fix it so she asked if could I move a lamp from the other room into the bathroom. I told her that I wouldn't do that so she came to my room looking for a breaker. The other manager came up in his jammies to tell us that it was on a timer which we couldn't see because the timer light was off and the other light was broken. The maid forgot to restock toilet paper so I had to go ask for it. The bathroom door handle fell off into my hands several times, slipped back on easily but was a nuisance. Bathroom door did not shut correctly and would open on it's own once in a while. No remote for the TV. Shower would leak if you didn't take the time to go back and REALLY tighten them properly. Bathroom had a window which a neighbor could peep through. We had to prop a pillow up to block it. The deli up the street rocked, that was the best part of our stay. I would stay again if I travel alone (not the best place for a lady) because of the convenience to the convention center, the price and free parking but I will DEFINITELY look for other options even if it means paying a little more. room requires deposit at check in. even though no notice of deposit was ever given.deposit was lost by manager. so would not be given back at check out. bathroom had been cleaned with straight bleach causing it to be difficult to breath in the room if the door was left open. room had no towls, soap, toilet paper, or anything else that would normally […] be replaced. heater was off in winter and took several hours to heat up. i have never stayed anywhere this bad or delt with managers less helpfull Les mer

This hotel would be sufficient for a one night stay. Not sure I would stay here on a longer visit. Very convenient location except the room conditions should have been better kept.

"DON'T STAY HERE"
Our room location was described as across the street behind the locked gates. Once we entered the building the entire floor permeated the smell of an ancient fish market. This smell was so bad that it gagged us to walk through and even was enough to run from. Our bedding was spotted, burn marks on the tv stand, hair and earring backing on bathroom floor. […] Our view was of another room and chicken screen. We asked for another room immediately but were told they were booked and then asked by the morning crew why we didn't just change rooms. Les mer
"Awful Place"
The hotel did not have a room in the main building, so I was in an annex across the street. Everything in that building was old and not cared for. The room was very out-dated, small and not very clean. No shampoo provided and the towels were ancient and scratchy. This was a low-priced option and it appealed to me because of it's price and location, […] but this place was still over-priced for what I got. Les mer

"bad service but handy if you have a car"
the hotel room was small and fine, without being particularly amazing. free wireless was good. the reception staff are extremely slow and incompetent, so expect to wait for a while if there is any kind of queue. but for something cheap in central san fran, it's fine and i'd stay there if i couldn't find anything cheaper
"Never Again"
Run for somewhere else I'd never stay here again....
"Knights Inn, San Francisco - small"
The room was EXTREMELY small. We wondered even how they fit two beds into it. And the lay-out made no sense...the TV was pointed AWAY from beds, and when we turned the furniture around so that it faced us, you could not fit through the space to get to the restroom or sink. However, if you are a bunch of college-kids (as we are) and are looking for […] a CHEAP place to stay, this is the place to go. Not much room, but definitely a place where you're not stressed about breaking things or leaving stains! Les mer

"Not bad!"
The room was and bathroom were very clean. The beds were very comfortable and clean. For being in a front room of the hotel the street noise was not even noticeable.
"Not Inn (Knights Inn SF)"
The parking was a great deal as it is free if it is available. We paid way too much as the prices were jacked up with the events in town and the bedding and towels were pretty getto. There were a few great restaurants on Folsom around the corner, just don't walk toward Market and it as really sketchy and dangerous. It was a place to sleep if nothing […] else is available. Les mer

"So Pleasantly Surprised"
I chose this hotel after researching other reasonably priced hotels in the area. The reviews for those hotels scared me, to be quite honest. I finally came across The Knights Inn and it looked much less scary! We were very pleased! This was our first vacation without our almost-two-year old son and we definitely wanted a comfy place to sleep-in. This […] room was great--it was very comfy, homey, and clean. The bed was super comfortable and we slept very well! We were lucky enough to be checked into a handicap accessible room so our bathroom (I'm assuming) was extra large. But, I would guess that all of the bathrooms are just as pleasant. The breakfast was definitely full of rules and limits, but it was an included breakfast, so what else can you ask for? Parking was free which was a huge plus and there were plenty of spots even when we pulled in a little later in the evening. We would definitely recommend this hotel to those looking for a decent hotel on a budget! Les mer
"Knights Inn Downtown - close to SOMA nightlife"
My modest needs and low expectations were met. I was able to safely park my car, stow my gear, shower and sleep. The location is convenient to both daytime points of interest and my favorite night-time haunts. On arrival I learned that they required my credit card, despite paying in advance through this site. They place a 7 day, $125 hold against damages […] that I may cause; don't know if this is unusual but I found it a bit disconcerting. Hope I do not have to dispute this in the future. My room was in a building across the street from the hotel proper, would have meant a dash across the street if I'd risen early enough for the "complementary continental breakfast." (SOMA Cafe around the corner provided a very nice brunch.) On arrival at my floor, I was greeted by the pleasant sound of what might be a fountain; but was in fact the ice machine, that produced no ice and was running water continuously into the floor drain. The room was tiny, as expected, carpet and furnishings were worn but serviceable. The wall switch by the door had to be left on so that the clock-radio provided would work. Few channels on an old style TV, and my laptop could not detect their WiFi. There was an iron and ironing board, though I wondered how one would find the space to set it up. No matter, ironing my clothes is about the last thing I'd care to spend time doing in San Francisco. A bath mat and two towels in the bath room, annoying to not have a wash cloth or hand towel. Plumbing and fixtures were OK, A/C unit seemed OK, but it was not needed as windows in both the bed and bath rooms provided nice cross-ventilation. Again, this location met both my modest needs and low expectations. Hard pressed to name anything I could call a pleasant surprise, but also nothing that made me regret choosing based on low cost. "Hotel close to drunks, made us feel unsafe"
Hotel is close to Chinatown, little italy, you can walk it if you like to walk, if not take a trolley or bus, there are many ways to get around in San Francisco a beautiful Island, so much history, beautiful weather, nice and cool, you can keep warm if you walk, or wear a sweater, gives you an excuse to buy a sweater, very relaxing, must go.

If you care about sanitary conditions, do NOT stay here. Its cheap yes, but dang I felt like I was staying in some crusty, musty and filthy hostel. Cable was like 8 channels.
