"Nice place to stay for traveling in the area"
Anmeldt av en hotels.com-gjest den jan 29, 2013I stayed here with a friend for four nights when we traveled in Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania, before we went to New York. We had a two bedroom suite on the first floor with two bathrooms, kitchenette and a living area. The space was fantastic. But the first night we had a suite on first floor. That suite was really worn down with holes in the carpet, hanging cabinet doors, nasty smell, dark and absolutely not nice. We thought it must have been a mix up with the reviews for this hotel, because it was absolutely not what we expected after reading a lot of reviews. Next day we asked for another room and like we moved to a suite on the third floor. That suite was great and looked almost new compared to the first one. Breakfast was nice, some hot dishes every morning, parking space was OK. Hotel is close to a few restaurants (walking distance to some of them). 10 minutes drive to Cherry Hill Mall and lot of restaurants in that area. We did not use the pool area or the Social Evening Reception. The hotel is OK, but nothing more. Ask for a room in the third floor. Probably not used as much as the rooms on the first floors. Will probably stay here if visiting this area again.

"Location, location, location"

We arrived by car, and it was a bit disappointing that the parking facility across the street charged at each passing and/or each day, but luckily the location of the hotel made the car unnecessary for the stay. The elevator had manual doors on the first floor, but worked smoothly. Considering how central the place was the rates were good, but they obviously don't leave much for maintenance. The building and the rooms were clearly well-worn, but cleanliness was satisfactory. After the first night, we had a huge leak in the ceiling (it literally, in the literal sense, poured) but a guy from maintenance sorted it out. Not a pleasant experience in the first place, but after all they took care of it. Liked the city as well, and we would most likely stay here again, were we to return.

In addition to the hotel being unclean and loud, the staff was horrible. As part of our reservation, we were to receive a free breakfast. The hotel ran out of bacon. "Not bad for the money"

My family really loved the hotel. We meet longtime friends that we haven't seen in 16 years and loved the pool and spa and the surrounding area. Philly within 20 miles. The room was wonderful. The cookies so good. My only small issue was there weren't any clean towells in the pool are. We and another family called while at the pool within an hour of […] each other and no one ever came to collect dirty towells or bring new ones. My family shared one towel for the five of us. When the room was booked we were told by rep hoyt, that we have will have a complementary roll away bed (there was 6 of us) and that breakfast would also be complementary. This was never so. The manager on duty said it was imposibble to provide the extra bed/;reakfast. We were totally disappointed with the booking. They were extremely nice to us. We had a car accident and were actually booked in Center City. Hotels.com changed the reservation for us with no hassle. It was an long day and we were starving. This hotel was pretty nice for the money. Big room with separate bedroom/living room but the rooms looked like they could use some updating. "Un-Happy New Year 2013!! :-("
Booking through Hotels.com was a very smooth transaction. For the same exact room and amenities they actually were cheaper than booking through the hotel directly. Thanks Hotel.com. ...but that's where the happiness ended. Our stay at DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Philadelphia West, to bring in the New Year 2013, was an absolute NIGHTMARE! Upon arrival […] our keys didn't work to get into our room. An engineer was going to come up and repair the lock while we waited but we eventually convinced them to give us another room. Next our heater in the new room didn't work so the "engineer" came to reverse the electrical wiring. We didn't find out until we awakened the next morning FREEZING that our heater still didn't work. I went down to the Business Center that same morning to send money via WU to a friend and the internet didn't work. After about 45 minutes of waiting while they troubleshooted the staff concluded that they would have to wait until AT&T arrived...which meant More Waiting!! I then fixed the problem by advising a staff member to unplug then re-plug the power cord and other cords from the modem then hit the reset button. Last but not least, when my family and I awoke the next morning there was NO WATER available - well through to the time that we left!!!! We had paid in full and in advance to stay here and all we got out of this stay was a change in scenery. And for our "two night" nightmare, the Manager offered no refund, but a "one night" stay in the future :-( Les merVirkelige gjesteanmeldelser

"Spacious rooms but could use some minor maintenanc"
The hotel lobby was decorated for the holidays and looked beautiful! The staff were awesome! Always asked if we needed anything, were very pleasant and seemed very happy to be there. The room was ok. Some things were not nice as i expected. the sink was clean but has seen better day, the water pressure in the shower was non-exsistant, the drapes in […] the living room looked like they have never been cleaned and the beds were to bouncy. I share a bed with my 4 year old and could feel here turn while asleep. I loved that there is a separate living area and we werent crammed in a room with just 2 beds. "Weekend Getaway"
The hotel was very nice. The suites were kept in excellent condition. I did have problems sleeping due to 2 wedding/receptions going on. I went to the vending at 1:30am and the reception was still going on. I was just amazed by the noise, but its a wedding so I tried to be understanding. Stayed here before-room was much cleaner. Had trouble with the TV in the bedroom. Had to call maintenance to turn on the shower. Was very nice, came back later & fixed it. Room needs a little updating. Dust on the ceiling from the fan-bathroom could have been cleaner initially, however, was cleaned thoroughly throughout our 3 day stay. "We enjoyed our stay."
Went to this hotel for a trade show. Got there in the midst of upcoming SUPERSTORM. Our accomodations were very good, we enjoyed the hot tub and had an excellent breakfast (although not included) in the morning. Unfortunately the trade show did not work our either for us or the hotel. "They had power!!!"

"Plenty of room to stretch out"
The hotel hosted several weddings during my Saturday-Sunday stay. The hotel has an atrium and my room was facing the atrium and across from a room where dishes were stored. It did get quite noisy at time if I was sitting in the front portion of the room. The bedroom was very quiet. I did not make a request for towels or sheet changes, but I thought […] that the staff would replenish the coffee and cups during our stay. "Great hotel. Close to lots of amenities!"

The only thing is the noise from the atrium lounge. It is a good thing that I have a hearing loss. With the devices on, I can hear the noise through the closed window. Without them on, it is peaceful. Other than that, the hotel was wonderful. A big difference from another hotel elsewhere that was terrible for the asking rate.
