Cambridge svarte til forventningene. Jeg var spent på avstander til bl.a. Operahuset, men det tok ikke mer en ca 30 min i rolig gange. Hotellet var rent og pent med god service i resepsjonen. minuset i forhold til Norge er at her må du betale for internett.

Vi var sent ute med å bestille hotellet. Så det ble ganske dyrt i forhold til standarden vi hadde på hotellet tre uker tidligere. Rommene bar preg av å ha vært brukt i mange år uten særlig vedlikehold. Det var kjøleskap og vannkoker på rommet. Kjøleskapet var tomt. Ganske stort rom. Dårlig lydisolert, men lite bråk på hotellet, så det gjorde ikke noe. […] Hotellet lå i et strøk med en del billige spisesteder og hyggelige restauranter. Det var ikke det fineste strøket i byen, men vi følte ingen ubehag når vi gikk ute om kvelden. Hotellet anbefalte en god restaurant noen kvartaler unna. Hotellets restaurant var stengt pga påsken. 50 dollar med taxi til flyplassen fra sentrum. Les mer

As a family of four we had booked the 2 separate room 'suite', but that was not well suited: too cramped and access to bathroom through bedroom. Service was good and everything working, so no surprises. But restaurant & 'bar area' is dull/charmless-so get out in the surrounding area! Fancy hotell med bar og restaurant. Veldig hyggelig personell. Hotellet ligger nær Oxford street. Litt tvilsomt område i enden av Oxford, men gangavstand til en del ting som handlegater og jernbanestasjonen og kort vei til buss og taxi. Kaffimaskin, tv med noen kanaler, trådløst Internett (gebyr) og safe på rommet. Veldig grei roomservice med god mat. […] Daglige tilbud i restuaranten på ukedagene. Litt støy kan forekomme pga. litt dårlig isolasjon og støy kan høres særlig i helgene fra nattklubbene i Oxford street pga. tynne vinduer. Rimelig hotell, som funker bra. Location is in a very lively area of Sydney, loads of restaurants and shops nearby, but further away from the harbour than we had anticipated, i.e. a good 40-minute walk to Circular Quay. There are bus stops nearby, but we got to know the area a lot more by walking. A little disappointed with the room - hanging space was totally inadequate; the fridge, […] ironing board, safe, kettle and cups were all crammed into the one small cupboard where we were also expected to hang our clothes. We had to take most of it out before we could do that. Breakfast was basic and expensive. We found plenty of places nearby that served a far better meal. Staff were helpful and friendly and had lots of useful information about the city. Les mer

I stayed for 3 nights and I really enjoyed myself. The pool was lovely. I would have liked a picture on the wall in my room to make it feel a bit luxurious. The Staff were great and very helpful. It is a great location being so close to Oxford Street and a short walk to the city.

Room service seemed non-existent. Returned to room at 3:30pm and found room had not been maintained, rang reception and was told the manager would contact us. Phone call back from reception later saying manager said rooms are made-up between 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Having just returned to room after a wet day out in Sydney didn't feel like leaving again […] while they cleaned the room. Les mer

We were surprised at how clean and modern the rooms were. The bathroom was spacious and the room lacked nothing. Our room was next to the lift but there was no noise during the night. Above all the location is fantastic. A quick walk to Central Station and an even briefer walk to Oxford Street. Plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants right at the doorstep. […] We will stay again next time we are in Sydney Les mer

Small rooms with very little room to put clothes away or set anything down. We ended up using the ironing board as a small table just to have a place to set they keys, wallets, etc. Staff was cordial but not friendly.

Hotel was ok not fantastic. Location was quite good with some nice bars and places to eat nearby. Easy to catch bus to Bondi

the room looks worse than the photos posted on internet. Facilities are old and there are no slippers which is unbelievable.

Great location close to bars and restaurants. The room (605) was OK, tidy but the decor is a bit tired. Staff are very helpful and friendly.

The only problem I found with this hotel was the room service very unorganised both times stayed something has been left off the order this stay they brought half then toolkit away and brought it back again and the food was cold could do with a bit of a revamp but quiet comfortable and good location for the price will stay again

The hotel amenities were great. I love it, Good qualiity! The room is daily cleaned. Hotel staff are very friendly. Good hotel location (oxford street), close to the city, few minutes walk to train station (museum train station), close to bars, pubs, and cafes.

Hotel itself was mostly fine. Our room was right next to the elevator - it seems like most of the rooms are just organised this way except one or two. So - it was a bit noisy with people coming in and out, and we stayed over the weekend before New Year's Eve so it was probably worse than normal. A lot of street noise and one night some of the guests […] came back to continue their partying in the room. The next night one of the apartments across from our room (different building) were partying until 3.30am. We decided to leave a day earlier. While the location was good - close to lots of good restaurants, it wasn't worth the sleepless nights. Well priced and rooms were ok but we wouldn't stay here again (or near the area). Les mer

The room was small with a little window with a view to the next building. It had been equipped with two beds but without a table and only with one chair. And in the small wall cabinet was a little fridge, for this reason we had no space for our clothes also. But the hotel itself was at least centrally located.

We were extremely satisfied with our stay. The location was excellent - walking distance to all the tourist attractions in Sydney. The public transport system was very efficient in the central business district. The hotel was clean, newly renovated and well maintained. The customer service from the front desk staff was very good.Daily newspapers were […] available for free. There was a large range of restaurants in the area as well as a well stocked supermarket across the street. Our only frustration was that we had to pay a lot to use the Internet, if we wanted to. This was available for a free half hour at Hungry Jacks around the corner, which worked okay for us. Les mer

The room was neat and clean. The beds were comfortable and all linen clean and in good condition. It could do with a bigger fridge and one where the freezer was not iced over. Being on the 4th floor the windows were frosted over so no view. Pool was smaller than expected. Staff were friendly. Good location to Oxford st and restaurants, and an easy walk […] to Hyde park and the city. Please note taxi to airport is approx $35 and not the $20 the front desk suggested! Our room was on the 12th floor, we had city views. The room was very clean & comfortable. It was within walking distance to the CBD, plenty of eating places close by. One thing we think they should incorporate the parking into the room price. On the internet they did not mention they had breakfast available or could be included. but on the whole we […] would go back, & defiantly recommend this Hotel. Les mer

The staff are very professional and helpful. I arrived a couple of hours early and my room was ready. My room was felt in need of a little maintenance though. The light over the bed didnt work, not all the TV channels worked, the plug in the bathroom was broken and there was a very long cobweb from the ceiling over the desk to the light over the bed. […] The room itself however was neat and tidy. Were the toilet was situated would be difficult for a tall man to sit comfortably without hitting his knees. No real complaints. Would recommend. Les mer

Last minute urgent booking so had no idea what it would be like. Excellent value and perfect location. Had a bath. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. A real gem of a find. Food good value too.

Our stay at Cambridge Hotel was unfortunately a disappointing one. We were only there for a short time (2 nights) however on both mornings we were woken at 6am by construction workers drilling into the outside wall of the building. There was also zero communication in advance regarding this construction. On the first occurrence, I opened our window […] to see what was going on and the workers were literally hovering above our room. They were so close in proximity that we could hear their entire conversation when they were not drilling! After the first morning, I complained to reception and the management kindly upgraded our room. We were assured this would not happen again as constructions were due to finish that day. However despite the upgrade and reassurance, the construction works continued and could still be heard very clearly from our new room and we were woken very early once again. Admittedly, the staff dealt with our complaints as well as they could, so they can be commended for that much. Although I cannot help but feel that we wasted our money on a hotel that is supposed to be 4 star, and yet we certainly did not experience a 4 star stay! Les mer

The room was quite comfortable and big and well maintained. The service was excellent and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was just off of Oxford a main route to much of Sydney's sites and I love to walk and it was easy to get places. There are many good restaurants nearby and two supermarkets. It is just 4 blocks to Hyde Park […] a wonderful park and not far from the Museum of Australia, NSW art Museum and the Domain. If I'm lucky enough to go back to Sydney I'd stay here again. Les mer

We couldnt understand how this hotel could be rated a 4 star until we realised we had stayed in the Abey hotel which has the same entrance, reception, staff etc as the Cambridge but is classified as a different hotel with a lower rating.Basically the Abey is the 3 floors at the back of the hotel accessed by a separate lift. We were not made aware of […] this when checking in. Having looked on Expedia when we came back we see that the Cambridge and Abey hotels are now shown separately. They are still basically the same hotel. The hotel was adequate for a short stay but can be very noisy at night due to its proximity to the bars and clubs in the area. We had to move rooms on one occasion as the noise next door was so bad. The reception staff were very helpful in arranging another room on a different floor. The restaurant is being refurbished and the builders started work at 7.30 am even on a Saturday, this was annoying if you were on the lower floors. We were visiting family in Surrey Hills so this hotel was in an ideal position for us and also it is within walking distance of the city. We used this hotel as a base and for this it is ok but you wouldnt want to spend too much time here. Perhaps when the restaurant and cafe is completed it will be much better. Les mer

I or my family have stayed at the Cambridge on numerous occasions, often for long periods, stays have been associated with medical treatment at nearby Saint Vincents hospital. The staff are wonderful, they are helpful and considerate and sympathetic to family needs and pressures. Facilities and services are excellent. Parking can be challenge.

The cleanliness of the hotel was the only good thing, but clean does not equal quality. My fiance and I stayed at Cambridge the last night we were in Sydney. We had 4 suitcases and 2 dufflebags; I'd been in Sydney for 12 weeks for educational reasons before our personal travels. The hotel staff offered no assistance with our bags, and the elevators […] were definitely not made for luggage. Even after pushing the button to hold the doors, which were only big enough for one person to enter at a time, the doors still shut on me, leaving a mark on my arm and shoulder. Trying to maneuver our luggage through the hallways was dreadful. The place is like a maze with tiny hallways. Two people could not walk side by side in the hallways. The room we stayed in was not at all what was depicted on their website. The entry way had a large cupboard, making it a disaster with all of our luggage. We couldn't even connect to their internet in our room. The breakfast buffet that we paid $14/person was horrible. Putting dishes on separate tables does not qualify a meal to be considered a buffet; we would have been better off going somewhere else and getting more and better quality of food instead of wasting our money there. Did I mention the construction work? Luckily for us, we had planned an early start to our day, but while we were there, the construction was so loud, we couldn't hear each other even when we shouted. I'm beyond disappointed. This was the worst experience I've had with a hotel. Les mer
