Hollywood Vermont/Sunset Travelodge - Los Angeles

Greit oppholdsted for videre transfeer. Ikke akkurat gangavstand til Hollywood, men mulig.Frokost er ikke akkurat "norsk" standard, men grei start på dagen. Vennlig betjening. Endel trafikk støy.

Midt i blinken! Var ikke ute etter noe luksus-hotell, men jeg bodde der med tre andre i tre netter før vi dro videre i ferien. Skulle være i LA i noen dager for å kikke oss rundt og se forskjellig (Venice, Universal Studios, Walk of Fame osv osv), og synes det fungerte utmerket. Må spesielt fremheve servicen og behjelpeligheten.

Bodde her i 2 netter, og hotellet har perfekt beliggenhet ifht mellom annet chinese theatre og walk of fame. Vi hadde også bil, og kjøreturen til Griffith observatorium var kort. En god del spisesteder og utesteder innenfor rekkevidde, men hotellets umiddelbare nærhet er rolig. Gratis parkering. Hotellets ansatte var svært imøtekommende - upåklagelig […] service. Rommene var reine og velholdte, det samme var bassengområdet. Vi kom for seint til frokosten begge dager, og i begge tilfeller holdt de åpent litt lenger slik vi skulle få spise. Sett i forhold til prisen for hotellrommene er dette definitivt value for money. Kan gi hotellet en varm anbefaling! Les mer

A fair place to sleep, helpfull staff. A bit thin walls. I will recommend this to others.

Dette hotellet har god beliggenhet, gode muligheter for parkering og frokost inkludert. Ikke verdens høyeste standard, men alt i alt mye for pengene!

Very pleased with the motel! Remember, everything must be taken into consideration, you don't check into a Four Seasons hotel, but a Travelodge. And I was really pleasantly surprised by the standard of the rooms. And the rooms was clean, and the TV had many channels even HBO, good size on the room. I […] have read many stupid complaints, that it was a bad thing that you could hear sirens, etc., but it is not the hotel's fault, and it is located in a block, with 5-6 hospitals, so a safer place do you have to look long for. Short distance to Metro, which takes you right to Universal Studios, and it is lokated right next to the Sunset Blvd, so it was pretty central, nothing to say on the bus offer, and the staff at the reception were helpful with information on buses, metro and shuttel service offerings! Et enkelt og greit motel/hotell som vi bodde på i 4 dager. Rommet er enkelt, men rent. Perfekt plassering i forhold til hollywood walk of fame og beverly hills. 10-15 minutter kjøretur. Vi hadde leiebil, noe som anbefales. Tror ikke kollektivtrafikken er mye å skryte av i LA. Anbefaler hotellet!

Utifra prisen på dette så er vi veldig fornøyd. Vi hadde leiebil slik at vi gikk ikke så mye, har man ikke det så er det kanskje litt usentralt, men siden Hollywood og for den saks skyld LA er så stort og med veldig dårlig kollektivtilbud, så anbefaler jeg å ha leiebil, og da er dette hotellet perfekt. 5 minutters kjøretur fra hollywood blw m kodak […] teather og walk of fame, ca 15 minutter å kjøre til universal studios, og 5-10 å kjøre til beverly hills, rodeo drive-området. Motellet er enkelt, men rent og pent, noe som var det viktigste for oss. Jeg følte og at vi var i et reygt omeråde. En enkel men grei frokost var inkludert og besto av ristet brød, syltetøy, juice, kaffe, frukt og et utvalg kaker/boller. Motellet har og et basseng og solstoler som man kan benytte seg av som var veldig orleit på varme dager vi ikke orket å kjøre bil. Les mer

Good location, just a few minute walk from a subway station. Safe neighbourhood. Free wireless internet in room. Free parking. Comfortable room.

Located directly across from two hospitals, the Travelodge is about one half a block from the Metro line, which makes getting there from the airport a breeze! Taking the Union Station Flyaway was $7 and the Metro was $1.50, so a very cost effective and safe way to get around. Although the hotel has a fairly dated appearance, the room was in good shape […] (recently updated) and the pool looked clean and inviting. If you venture up Vermont ave towards Griffith Park, the neighborhood becomes increasingly nice, including every type of food in inexpensive and more upscale settings! Also, the Los Feliz theater is in the same neighborhood, leading to Griffith Park and the Observatory. There's a public golf course at the park with it's own outdoor restaurant. All in all, turned out to be a great location for getting around LA and just hanging out. Les mer

The staff was polite and the room was, well..a room. There were so many sirens going off every night -- Does a police car or ambulance really have to sound off its sirens at 3AM, 4AM, 5AM? Who else could possibly on the road at that time?

Why would anybody give a smoking room to a family. It stunk.

I liked it. Went for the 40th Anniversary of The Rainbow. Wish I was a little closer to West Hollywood, but... The hotel was actually pretty nice. It's not the 4 Seasons, but room was clean, recently painted, nothing broken or anything like that. Bed was comfortable, clean sheets. Got some juice in the morning, but they close the little continental […] breakfast at 9:30am, so that sucks.. My girlfriend and I were sitting out on the tables after they closed enjoying coffee & the maid sprayed cleaner on the table right by us, and onto my girlfriend, so that enjoyment was short lived. She couldn't stand that we were there relaxing & obviously wanted to spray our table as well, so we left. That was annoying. Otherwise, pleasant stay & it's right across from the hospital. Not a bad spot... seemed better during the day, of course, but that's Hollywood!! Les mer

Not properly cleaned..

We stayed at Hollywood Vermont/Sunset Travelodge for 4 nights at the end of March 2012 (2 adults + 2 teen agers). The hotel was very decent, for this price range. The room was quiet, the breakfast surprisingly good (compare to other motels) and the location was very convenient to us (we had a car). All in all we had a good stay!

The hotel has a nice location. Close to Hollywood Blvd and with an easy access. Offers parking and has honest continental breakfast. However, the place is really noisy and sometimes you will weak up with the ambulances and helicopters arriving at the Children's hospital.

got a smoking room, smells of cig smoke. got my kid with me. no more rooms available. crap.

The hotel is right across the street from several hospitals, so you can imagine the siren noises at night. Also, the refrigerator had someone else's leftovers still inside! No big deal, right? I guess the thing that ultimately made me not want to return, though, was the fact that there […] were long black hairs on the shower wall and in the bathtub; my husband is bald and my hair is only about an inch long, so YUCK!!!!! There was three of us in a double bed room. There was not much space to move around. Really small!

Hotel was across the street from a hospital, so we listened to sirens all night. Housekeeping staff did not honor the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door and entered anyway and left the television on. Rooms had mold and electric sockets that were unsafe.

Got smoking room instead unsmoking. So called breakfast is a joke. Just some old muffins and bad coffey. Unfriendly service personnel. Neighborhood nood so good (noisy and strange people on the streets).

For a short stay, this hotel is in a great location. Walk to Metro, Hollywood Ave with no problem. LA has good mass transit and a visit to the city and beyond is possible with the LA transit system just 1/2 mile away. Easy to find and on a main drag in Hollywood. No-frills, basic, great price for the 4 of us for an overnight stay. Free breakfast was […] cereal and white bread, bananas & apple, coffee. Better than nothing IMHO. We stayed 3 night here to be near La, Hollywood and Beverly hills, it is well located and as always with a travel lodge it didn't disapoint. Not the best hotel but definatly good value for money and clean enough as wew didn't intend to spend much time in the room. it had 2 x 4'6 beds dressing table/ desk plug sockets where needed which is some thing […] some hotels lack for the ladies. bathroom clean as expected. Breakfast was Pastrys etc to be collected from reception, and there was a coffee machine in the rooms, although I always take a travel Kettel. we left to go to Sandiago and returned to this hotel for a further 3 nights before driving to vegas, then returned again 6 nights later for one night before our flight home. the room had free internet which did work very well, where as in Vegas they charge $15 dolas a day on top for it at most of the Hotels, so all in all good value, and would stay again. Me and my 3 sons stayed two nights. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom had paint and caulking to be redone... but the room was clean. I looked for bedbugs ...none found. We only got one channel for cable... but the wifi worked great. We had breakfast in the morning. I thought it would just be a muffin and juice... but they had two kinds of […] cereal, muffins, pastry, fruit, oatmeal, juice, milk and coffee. The staff were all very friendly. The parking was awful..it was angled /close together... not good for SUVs. One of the nights we came in at about midnight and I had to park out front at a meter until I figured out where the extra parking was. I felt okay enough to walk by myself.There are two hospitals accross the street. There are always people out and about..the busses still ran at that time.I didn't see anything that looked scary or illegal. It seemed like it would be noisy but we weren't bothered by it. The hotel was close enough to all the things we needed... for the price it was great. I would definately stay there again. Les mer

I was in town to meet with producers and this hotel is very conveniently located--close to the studios; attractions, etc; also the hotel staff is very accomodating and courteous; i had a pleasant stay and the price was right

Hotel is in excellent location, just a couple of minutes from subway station and on major bus routes; also near restaurants and shopping. Breakfast is more than adequate. Good bargain; plan to stay there again next trip to LA.

Very clean older rooms, comfortable bed, no bed bugs or roaches, excellent daily maid service. But no sound proofing, lots of shouting and coming and going on weekend nights (to 1:30 am), smokers on the balcony, sink drain occassionally gurgled loudly in the middle of the night.

conveniently located near the train station. complimentary breakfast and parking. rowdy neighbours who spoke loudly at night. But otherwise is ok.

This place was terrible. Terrible service, no parking, abd very loud. Not worth it.

Very near to metro station (Managable to hull your luggages from metro to hotel) clean hotel, friendly staff As compared to the hotels in this cost range, i would say its location is safe and convinent, although there are a few homelss people, but given in LA, it's nothing compare to other areas

I stayed there for 4 days and was very happy. The Location is perfect. The Walk of Fame and Hollywood Sign are just some min away. The service at the reception was perfect. When i'm going to LA again, i would definitely stay here!

Old motel style property that meets a "no frills" requirement. I stayed here twice in Jan/2012 and found the rooms clean and the beds surprisingly good. I know there have been issues with bed bigs but I experienced none of that. The property can be noisey as it is across the street from 2 hospitals so ambulances and helicopters can wake you at any hour--although […] this wasn't a constant issue. Parking is free but fills quickly in the on-site lot but there is an additional overflow lot I used that is next door---a good backup for customers. A mediocre continental breakfast is included but is limited to 2 cereals, low quality white and wheat bread, fruits, bagels, and coffee. Not great but it is free and will get you on your way in a pinch. We also had breakfast at "Fred 62" on Vermont which was very good. Les mer

If you don't mind scaled down accomodation, this is a really reasonably priced hotel nicely centrally located. There aren't any extras. Expect cereal and toast for breakfast (bare basics, but more than some hotes offer) and you do get free parking and wi fi. For its price, Travelodge wasn't too bad. But talking with my travel-mate, we would probably recommend some other hotel if they were paying along the same price. There is limited parking available, and the water wouldn't drain in our shower in the beginning. We weren't in for most of the day, so we didn't have the chance to really experience the customer […] service portion of the stay. Free, but slow, WiFi is available, and they serve breakfast (usually a couple fruits, some prepackaged pastries) starting at 6:30AM. Also note, like most of CA, they have a specific night window for after-hours, and aren't allowed to enter the office at all. Like the title, you basically get what you pay for. Les mer

We chose this hotel because of its convenient location to Hollywood and it offers free parking (rare for many hotels in L.A) . The hotel delivered. The room had a fridge, microwave, and an easy-to-use safe. The beds were comfortable. We did not use the outdoor pool because it is January. This is not the Ritz, but it was clean and adequate. Not the place […] to take a date, but rather a place to sleep. Plenty of restaurants just up the road on Vermont. We were worried about recent reports of bedbugs, but there were none in our room for sure. All in all, good value, nothing fancy, and no disappointments. Two star confirmed. Les mer

We were going to The Vista theatre for an event and this hotel is perfect. There are also lots of great places to eat in the surrounding areas, and lots of stores as well. We were provided with a coffee pt, microwave and refrigerator, we have stayed in 4star hotels that have not provided these. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room was very […] clean! Old school 2 floor motel that achieves the basics. Nothing extra, but it is a very good value if you want something close to Sunset and Hollywood Blvd's. Rooms had surprisingly good beds and four pillows per bed--nice if you like more than one pillow to moosh around when you sleep. A "continental" breakfast is available...two cereals, bananas, coffee, […] and store packaged rolls/muffins. Cheap white and wheat bread is available for toast. First trip to Los Angeles for my family and I. Location of hotel is close to Vermont Sunset Metro and bus-stop - travelling is convenient and easy to Hollywood Boulevard, North Hollywood, Century City, Union Station. Room is nice and comfortable. Very pleased with the complimentary breakfast. NIce and friendly staff. Would love to return again.

Initially I was a little worried about staying at a Travelodge but I'm glad we did. Every staff member I interacted with was very kind and helpful as well. The room was very clean. I never found a single hair anywhere in the room, and I looked because that is one thing that will completely gross me out. The overall location was good in terms of public […] transportation. After just one day of driving in L.A. I was thrilled that the subway station was a short walk away. The continental breakfast was terrible though and is my only complaint. It was plain instant oatmeal packs, underripe bananas, prepackaged cheese danish, and two types of cereal, and the usual tea, coffee, and juice. Overall, my daughter and I would definitely stay again. For the great rate we got the room at in that area, I can deal with the lousy breakfast they offered. Les mer

Good location, only 4 miles from Universal and that is what we needed. Room is clean and check in/out was easy. Con - Small rooms. Very small. Not a lot of room to move. Water was too hot and In had hard time in the shower.
