Costa Mesa/Newport Beach Hacienda Travelodge - Costa Mesa

The room was smelley, like and old smoking room. The TV was an old style from the 70s could hardley see the picture. The Hotel was a tired and run down place in need of a make over.

Room Windows near the front of hotel should be replaced with newer dual payne to reduce noise from freeway/Blv.

Very nice and clean rooms. Breakfast wasn't the best, just toast, honey buns, and coffee really but can't expect a huge breakfast for the price. Newport was a quiet, pretty town. The hotel location was convenient coming off the highway but coming from the pier was odd. Overall a good hotel for the price.

Room was comfortable--had good amenties, but wished for an iron. A/C unit woke us in the night, but repairman couldn't fix problem--noise inside A/C unit would come on so loud that it drown out the TV and then go off, then on again, etc. Didn't use pool, but jacuzzi was rather yellow--how often cleaned? Continental breakfast is good; location is near […] beach, shopping, trestaurants, other sites. Pillows are very flat, so order extra. We still will return, as handy for our needs. Not so far Away to the grandios Newport beach

Carpet was filthy. Literally had to keep my shoes on always. Very thin walls. You can hear the water running and flushing from above.

I had a very pleasant stay for 3 nights! The room was cleaned, trash removed and fresh towels replaced each day. The room was equipped with a refrigerator and microwave oven. There was cable t.v. and a large flat screen t.v. -- but, the quality of the channel signals was pretty bad. I had no noise issues with fellow guests -- and there were some recently […] graduated high school students directly next door evidently touring through southern California. There was a small laundry room, swimming pool and hot tub -- all in working order! There was also a basic breakfast served each day and a computer with internet access in the lobby/office for guests. I found the staff to be very friendly and they gave me directions for driving to L.A., Burbank, Hollywood and even Las Vegas, NV! The rooms that face the freeways are said to be noisy -- but, my room faced north and south -- not east and west. For the price -- the room was great and really easy access to surrounding stores and restaurants. Les mer

I grew up vacationing in the area, so knew how fantasically central this hotel was to everything. You are literally 15 minutes from Newport Beach, Balboa Island, Huntington Beach and all the shopping you can imagine. Pros: clean helpful staff nice sized room pool hot tub free wireless free breakfast includes fruits (not just junk food) comfortable bed-mattress, small dining table, and large work desk microwave and nice sized fridge (if you don’t want to eat out all the time). The location is absolutely great. Within walking distance, there are cool stores, restaurants, bars, and so on. It also is only 3 miles to Newport Beach. The room is literally not bad at all for the price I paid. However, it can be a little noisy at any time of the day. I got a room downstairs and could hear the footsteps of people upstairs in the middle […] of the night. In the morning, when the housekeeping begins, you hear all kind of noise and voices. If I have another opportunity to go to Costa Mesa, I would stay there again - just because of the convenient location. Les mer

It was close to new port pier so we were very happy. Surroundings were great - restaurants, downtown NP down the street. Carpet smelled nice but upon stepping on it barefoot... my feet felt sticky............ omgsh i dont want to think about it, i just put my slippers on. Pillows were lumpy and phone wires were sticking out of the wall near the floor. […] Glad my daughter is grown. It could have been better but then again it could've been a lot worse. very convenient location in the Newport Beach area. Great customer service by desk personnel. Room was very clean and pleasant. Upgraded without even asking. I will definately stay at this Motel when I return to Newport, Costa Mesa area

Nicest Travel Lodge I have ever stayed at. Bed was really comfortable, pool was great, like the marble counters and refrigerator. Overall, was well worth the money.

Pros: 1. Good location 2. Free parking 3. Free breakfast - fruit, toast, juice boxes, coffee, bear claws, donuts (nothing fancy) 4. Cheap price, but you kinda get what you pay for 5. King bed with couch and flat screen tv Cons: 1. Carpet in room looked dirty 2. Leaky faucet in bathtub 3. No hair conditioner or body lotion

While the room was clean, we started to see small ants the second day. When I told the front desk, they told us there was not much they could do about it. We left a note for the maid for an extra towel, I ended up going to the front desk to get one. The maid never left coffee or tea, we always had to go get it. good enough for the price, stay away from the smoking rooms if you don't smoke they are toxic, but lesson learned, decent parking,location, close to everything, breakfast is sparse but at least they had coffee, theres alot of good breakfast places close by.

This is the third year we stayed at the Hacienda Travel Lodge in Costa Mesa for our annual participation at the Huntington Beach Marathon. It is a basic older property, well maintained and generally clean. The carpets could use some deep cleaning. The mattresses are firm and comfortable. The staff is attentive and helpful. The hotel and staff were friendly and the hotel was in an excellent location if one has a car. The room was clean, quiet and spacious. The only thing I was a bit unhappy with was the plastic mattress coverings on the bed which made noise everytime anyone moved. The breakfast was adequate and kept us from being hungry. In comparison to what you would get in the city I am from there were alot more amenities, they give you a cup full of chocolates, continental breakfast , HBO. coffee maker and blow dryer etc. but here is my experience. When I arrived, I moved all of my things into the room. I notified the front desk that the internet was notworking The clerk came out, […] blamed my computer, in her attempts to fix the internet she made the phone to the desk inoperable. She then told me that she would give me another room. I waited until after midnight, leaving me to walk back to the office to find out that she left off her shift leaving me in the room without this key to my working room. The New desk clerk informed me "oh yeah she told me all about it " then callously threw me a key. I was tired and did not want to repack and unpack . I was absolutely dismayed. Before the girl left she burbled something about a discount, so when I mentioned it she attempted to recant the offer, then the boss came out and said in a very disgusting tone "just give him ten bucks". Anyway I did end up having to move most of my things into a room with a less desirable location as I needed my internet phone to call Family members. As I was going through this drama I overheard a lady complaining about the jaccuzzi being cold ( later I turned it on for an hour and came to find it cold as well. I can see how they got their two star reputation. as I sat at the desk in the room I felt the irritation of bugs biting at my feet and ankles. There was plastic on the mattresses, but I still think there was a bug problem. The second rooms internet worked, I personally, will never stay in that place again. Les mer

Hotel was super clean--tub/shower just sparkled! Bathroom small, but separate sink, mirrored area outside of bathroom very convenient--wall safe behind clothes bar handy. Large desk and table and chairs convenient. Microwave and small refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer nice amenties. No iron, however, so bring your own, if needed. Bed was firm but […] comfortable. However, pillows very flat and only three for king sized bed, so ask for more at lobby desk or bring extra pillows. The location is very close to shopping areas on Newport Blvd. south or on 19th St. and 17th St. nearby. Cinemas and many restaurants close by. Area is very safe. It met our needs (visit to family in area) but still a few miles from beach and PCH or Newport Bch./ Balboa piers but location convenient to get to those tourist attractions. Lots of parking available, but front rooms face access road and busy Newport Freeway (55), so no parking space available in front of those rooms--must pull luggage, etc. through lobby, but extended roof covers walkway, so convenient and dry, as we had rain for three days. Extended roof over pull-up area in front of lobby/office makes for covered parking for parking spaces opposite it--again helpful when raining. There is only one ice-maker in a room beyond the pool area, so it is some distance from the front rooms and lobby. It would be helpful to have more than one for all the rooms they have. Noticed washers and dryers available in ice-maker room. The Continental breakfast good--choice of oatmeal packs or Danish, plus fresh fruit and juice, besides the coffee and tea provided. Newspapers available for lobby use. The rooms are spacious and decorated in cheerful typical Travelodge decor. No complaints about room or cleanliness. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. For the price, this hotel is a good buy, as this Costa Mesa/Newport area is very pricey. We will definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. The hotel is ok. The quality is about the same as a motel 6. I would give it a 1.5 on the star scale. The hot water is intermittent, so part of your shower is cold. There is no wow factor. So if your looking for low price and ok quality, then this is your place. I will personally never stay at this place again.

Nothing special here. Just a place to rest your head and get some sleep. Not easy to access on one way street. Especially in rush hour traffic. TV's were frustrating since channels were not all programmed in you had to rotate through a lot of empty channels to land one that worked. Or had to read chart and punch in each channel number. Don't know why […] I got suite with full kitchen but no pots, pans, plates, etc. so kitchen was kinda useless. Pretty well kept up for older building. Nice front desk staff. Les mer

gross. It's near Newport Dunes, which is where I needed to be in the morning, so for the price it was acceptable for the few hours I was there. I would not recommended staying longer than absolutely necessary. The room was stinky and had no appeal.

First off it is a little further from the beach, 5-10 min depending on traffic. The room was clean and spacious for 2 people. The hot tub and the pool were clean. the AC was a little too good. No wifi is kind of a draw back, but they do give you an ethernet cord. The area is nice, lots of places you can walk to and eat or shop or buy groceries. For the price it was perfect! Very comfortable and only a couple miles from Newport Pier. My niece took a surfing lesson which will be a lifelong memory for all of us. Parking near the beach was no problem as we got there super early in the morning. expect to search for spots and bring lots of quarters for meter parking anytime after 9 am.

the stay was great, rooms ok, had u dated tv"s wall mount thin screen, had some cakes in the morning in front, small love seat in rooms, the only neg. thing I can think of parking a little tight, bottom line thum up a great place to stay, location is next to shopping, nice down town type area a walk away, small drive to beach,

The hotel staff was really helpful and quite nice. We had some neighbors that were very loud and came in at 2:30 am slamming doors, talking very loud and jumping in the swimming pool. Woke us up and kept us up for a while. The TV remote didn't work very well and there were ants in the restroom. Other than that it was great!!

This hotel is good only to sleep in while you are on tne road. It's very close to Newport beach, has cofe and snack in the morning to get you going, but you don't want to be there during a day, Just spend a night there and keeep going!

This isn't the newest nor the most hig ended hotel around or even in the area. But for that price this was a perfect match to our needs, close enough to the beach, shopping, movies just around the corner etc. Pool and jacuzzi in decent shape, rooms clean and big but not new. Only minus was that they only had LAN not Wifi. But let's face it only tech […] geeks like myself would have an issue with not being able to connect two PC's to the internet. Les mer

The room was big and clean. Good working AC and clean well stocked bathroom. Good price...now for the bad stuff. The bed was horribly uncomfortable and the pillows were pitiful! It was so noisy one night I couldn't sleep. My neighbors were having a huge fight and slamming doors and no security ever came by. Also, the cable gets about 4 channels and […] thats it. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was great it was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a Very large flat screen TV microwave fridge and coffee maker in the room. The staff even adjusted the temperature of the Jacuzzi for us to make us more comfortable. Over all I really enjoyed my stay and the staff went out of there way […] to make my vacation enjoyable.
