Vi var 2 venninner som bodde på Ibis Holloway i 3 netter. Vi valgte hotellet fordi det var billig og det nærmeste hotellet til 02 Academy hvor vi skulle på konsert. Vi hadde ingen store forhåpninger til standarden på hotellet, men ble positivt overrasket. Store og åpne rom, god seng(vi hadde dobbelseng), stort bad og rengjøringen var bra. Hotellet er vel nesten et "motell", da alle rom har egen dør ut parkeringsplassen, men dette var bare positivt. Resepsjonen var veldig pen, og resepsjonistene var hyggelige og hjelpsomme. Maten kan jeg ikke kommentere, da vi ikke hadde inkludert frokost de dagene vi var der, men menyen viste at det var et godt utvalg 24 timer i døgnet. Sentralt beliggende, med gåavstand til New Street Station, Bullring Shopping centre, Broad Street og det meste Birmingham har å by på. Anbefales for alle som trenger et sentralt hotell i Birmingham!

"Copthorne Hotel - top choice for central BHam"
This place is great. Very convenient location, great staff, clean, comfortable rooms of a good size and a tasty breakfast. For the price midweek too it can't be beaten. I will always choose this in future over any of the 'budget' chains (especially Travelodge, where I will never stay again).

fantastic service for my wife who uses a wheelchair. the only downfall was a vertical bar that was difficult for my wife to get up off the loo. otherwise it had excellent wheelchair freindly ramps etc.

Hotel is in a very good central location and the room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. The hotel stay itself was fine however the heating system has seen better days. It was like someone playing a drum in the room when the heating started back up in the morning. The room was comfortable however the mattress had a spring sticking through it. An easy choice for a stay - great price, included a great hot breakfast (we'd expected average continental, but you were spoiled for choice. The downstairs reception and lobby were much more modern and recently renovated than the slightly tired rooms and corridors (we were on the first floor), but beds comfy, clean and with lots of hot water. "Copthorne Hotel Birmingham, excellent value."
Chose this hotel for a night to watch a concert. The location is ideal, mid way between the shopping center and the NIA with plenty of dining options within a 10 minute walk. The rooms were clean and comfortable if a little dated, particuarly the bathroom. Our window faced the rear of the hotel looking over a pedestiran square and the exit to a shopping […] arcade which included a Wetherspoons pub. There was some noise at "chucking out" time which did disturb us but not enough to spoil our stay. If sleep is important a room at the front may be better for you. The bar staff were polite and helpful and we benifited from complimentary breakfast which was excellent. Overall this was a very good choice of hotel for our purpose at an excellent price especially with the complimentary breakfast. Les mer
"No complaints at all, a great stay"
For the price we paid, this hotel was superb,and even for double that price it would have been fine. We stayed on New Years Eve and the location was excellent - really close to all the action and the fireworks at midnight. Considering the staff were working New Year, they were so friendly and polite that you didn't get the feeling they were begrudging […] having to work. Although the room was slightly dated the room was clean and the location of the hotel is excellent. Whilst I was there improvements were taking place, they did not cause me any inconvenience and it was nice to see that the hotel was being well maintained. I would have liked some biscuits with my tea though, and a shower cap!

The location is the best thing about the hotel with Broad Street, Mailbox and German Market right on the doorstep. The hotel was as very good value for money. The rooms and corridors on the other hand are dated and shabby in some areas. This hotel is long due a refurb but my only question would be that if this was to happen, would the hotel still be great value? I doubt it. Pleasant reception staff, room ready on arrival. weather was very cold with lots of snow but room clean, warm and comfortable. Tea, coffee etc refilled daily.Walking distance to Bullring and mailbox shopping malls..German Christmas market right next to hotel handy for Christmas shopping. Booked the Copthgorne at Birmingham to attend a Christmas event at another location. THe hotel is ideally placed and I walked from Birmingham New Street Station (5 minutes). The hotel is in a good location close to all the major attractions and the main entertainment areas. I booked a double room and found the room to be of a very good size and very clean and inviting. I did not book breakfast. I have stayed at a number of hotels in Birmingham and for the last 3 years i have booked into the Copthorne to attend events and will continue to do so as long as the prices remain competetive. clean hotel, needs a refubishment, its a bit worn out inside and its noisy in the rear rooms due to a bar behind the hotel playing music until 1am, food was good for breakfast. great central location.

The Copthorne Hotel is well maintained with friendly staff, good service, clean spacious rooms and a very good breakfast. Very close to Broad Street, NIA, Town Hall and New Street Station. There is plenty of car parking close to hotel if car park is full.

"Staff are great"
The best feature of the hotel is the warn welcome and the excellent service you get from the staff - reception, bar and restaurant. The decor needs to be modernised. The TV system is almost non existent with poor reception that affect BBC1, 2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 which were not working. The picuture quality when you can get these channels is poor. Situated in the heart of the city centre the hotel made our stay very enjoyable. The facilities are excellent and all staff most helpfull. I have stayed at the Copthorne on a number of occasions and would recommend the hotel. On future visits to Birmingham I will always enquire as to the availability of the Copthorne. Excellent value for money.

Having stayed at this hotel on and off for nearly decided to book for the rest of my business stays in Birmingham. The decor is tired, cleanliness is good but what makes it worthwhile is the accommodating and friendliness of the staff.

I stayed here Dec '09 and had a very pleasant experience. The winter festival of Birmingham practically surrounds the hotel. Food, drinks, fun within walking distance. Highly recommend during this time of year. I stayed here again July '10 and had a completely different experience. Summer months in Birmingham are quite bleak. The central area of the […] city lacks quality restaurants and is overrun with vagrants and beggars . I will most likely pass on this hotel any time I am in Birmingham from Jan-Oct. Check-in was great. Staff really friendly and helpful, no problems at all. Rooms are very dated, particularly the bathrooms, need a complete refurb, Although very clean, they looked about 20 yrs old, so much so that the bath had those hairline cracks in it from being used for years! For a city centre hotel at 4* you expect so much more. The restaurant, […] based on a singapore-style, was always dead, which is unsurprising given that such a theme is very bizarre in a 4* hotel - came in from town via that way and the staff almost dragged me to the tables to eat! The disappointment in their faces when we walked past was almost heartbreaking! Acceptable standard, but certainly not stylish and very 80s in decor.... Les mer

This hotel is in a good locatation but right from setting eyes on it it looked tired and in need of a refurb, even from the outside. When inside the general area is acceptable but could be better. The rooms are very tired and our lamp was broken and the general lighting was very poor. Impossible to put your make up on ladies. The bed was very uncomfortable […] with that "roll together" effect you have to fight all night. The desk area etc was very poor and looked like something right out of the 70's. Even though this hotel was cheap I would not reccomend it. I cannot see how it is 4 star. I wish I had gone for a nicer 3 star. Les mer

Room was lovely, although very hot. Windows did open to let a breeze in, but it was very noisy...Not the hotels fault though! Hotel lovely and clean, service very good, and location was ideal for the shops, resturants and pubs.

"Risigt hotell, fantastiskt läge"
Hotellet som sådant är inte mycket att skriva hem om. Har säkert varit fint en gång, men nu riktigt nedgånget. Bleknade heltäckningsmattor i rummet, trasiga gardiner, kallvattenkran som tjöt, dusch som knappt fungerade, dåligt med eluttag på rummet (inget i närheten av skrivbordet t ex...). Skulle, trots detta, kunna tänka mig att bo här igen, av ett […] enda skäl. Läget! Bara å gå ut genom dörren så har man shopping direkt till vänster, och stora restaurang/pub-gatan till höger.
