Veldig bra hotell med servicen på topp. Super beliggenhet når man skal på konsert i NIA, 5 minutter til togstasjon og 5 minutter til NIA. Velger samme hotell ved neste besøk i Birmingham.

Kjempesentralt hotell, tok kun fem minutter å gå til rådhuset og hovedgata lå rett ved dette. Til tross for den sentrale beliggenheten var det rolig, og sengene var kjempegode. Frokosten var middels + og hotellbetjeningen var hyggelige og effektive. I sum meget fornøyd med oppholdet, og kommer gjerne tilbake hit!

Hotellet ligger ypperllig plassert i aksen mellom restaurantgaten og gågaten for shopping. Ti minutters gange fra togstasjonen. Anbefales

Hotellet ligger bra til ifht shoppingområdet. gangavstand til det meste. Vi hadde imidlertidig problemer med å få sove...Vi hadde rom ut mot hotellets bakgård og en nærliggende pub. Høy musikk holdt oss våkne til 02.00 første natten. Så ble vi vekket 06.00 av en lastebil som kom for å hente tomflasker fra hotellet. ømming av flasker pågikk en drøy halvtime. […] Det samme gjentok seg neste morgen....Vi ba om å få bytte rom, noe som ikke var noe problem. Fikk da rom ut mot trafikk, men doble vinduer stengte lyd (og luft..) ute. Sengene kunne med fordel hatt en overmadrass. Elles helt greit hotell, noe slitt. Les mer

It is with regret that I have to write my first ever review for a hotel. I never complain about anything but I feel the need to inform you about my stay at Copthorne Birmingham. The hotel is very old but in a fantastic area. I honestly don't mind the fact that it's old, all I need is a clean room. Unfortunately the room I was checked in to was far […] from clean. The bathroom was a disgrace - the shower looked grimey, the temperature control on the shower wouldn't work and to top it off when I turned on the tap in the sink the water was white in colour!!! I filled a glass to double check - still white and cloudy in colour. I ran the tap for several mins and it eventually cleared but I was affraid to use it. I went out for the evening and returned to "freshen up" in the hope that the water was still clear and I'd try it to brush my teeth - I was wrong! Another glass of white murky water came out. The receptionist had earlier offered to move my room but I had some events to attend and after all the fuss I chose to rest my head and just sleep where I was. I was frustrated and just had a poor feeling about the hotel after this. I emailed the hotel and they replied saying the water was fine and there was no problem. There was no attempt to offer any other guest service in exchange for, what was, a very poor experience. They didn't seem to believe me, or care very much. I travel alot and I have never experienced such a poor service. When a hotel can't get basic things correct it makes me worry about other aspects of care and hygiene. I need to point out again, I never complain about stuff. Just felt I needed to share this. Les mer

The room was clean and large, but had no comfortable furniture other than the bed and no proper lighting in the bathroom. There was a smoke detector hung over the bed, which flashed two red lights every 30 seconds or so, which was distracting when trying to sleep. The mattress itself had seen better days. Stayed as party of 10 couples for a 50th birthday. Bar area was good for meeting before and after our city centre shopping, drinking & eating etc. Room was dated 80's but roomy enough and main plus point is the location. Situated between canal side area and bullring shopping centre. We arrived by train and walk was only 10 mins max to hotel. I stayed at this hotel to visit the Xmas Fair, Location was very good (central) for fair and bullring shopping. The staff and service were also very good. It is a shame that the hotel needs a facelift as some areas were shabby. However overall I will definately stay at this hotel again.

Booked a club room, didnt get one even though complained twice! Hot water tap bathroom sink not working. Paper thin walls could hear everything in adjoining room. Not a 4 star hotel.

It felt like a longer than 7 minute walk from the station but we did have to fight through the crowds as the Christmas market was on in the surrounding streets. Once at the hotel it was cosy, warm and clean. The bed was comfortable and the room had an iron and ironing board as well as the usual hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities. A complimentary […] bottle of water was provided and a jar of delicious nuts! The breakfast was lovely although I thought the room was quite small to cater for the large number of people trying to get a table. That was the only little moan of the stay. Good quality hotel in central city location. Good for overnight,business or city break. Reasonably free of traffic noise for city location but no views from the room(at least our room)

Great location with excellent food and a welcoming staff.

Having stayed in the Copthorne in Newcastle and Gatwick I felt that I was on a safe bet. I was shocked with the room and poor facilities. It certainly didn't come anywhere near its sister hotels

We arrived at the hotel, and had booked a superior twin room with breakfast. On reaching our room we found it was a double room, the recepionist blamed the booking agent but gave us a twin bedded room, which did not appear to be a superior room. It did not have any air conditioning and an unstock fridge, we had to ask for milk and when I enquired about […] biscuits was told these are not provided, there was no iron or ironing bard and we had to look for towels. This was classed as a 4* hotel and I don't understand how it got this rating. On checking out we were hardly acknowledge by the receptionist and weren't asked if we had had a good night or enjoyed our stay. Les mer

This was an reasonable budget hotel - nothing special, but you cannot expect anything more at the reasonable price. The room was nice and spacious, with a big comfy bed and TV. The bathroom was big as well, though the shower failed to impress. There was a bar, and the hotel was conveniently located to New Street and train station. The staff was not […] very respectful on Sat night when one of my friends and fellow guest returned slightly inebriated. Les mer

stayed on a sat nite room very comfy and clean staff very helpfull in all areas would stop again

Top location in town, the rooms are a bit on the old side but clean and still ok. I booked 3 months ahead and had a good price friendly and helpful staff, the gym is modest. I would stay there again.

Hotel was clean and nicely done out, Unfortunately the Hotel seems to attract a lot of guys so therefore can be rather noisey especially during the night as our room was by the lift on the 4th floor so whenever the lift opened all you could here was drunk loud voices and terrible singing! It didn't help that at 4.30am the fire alarm went off so the […] whole Hotel had to be evacuated so therefore we were stood outside in the rain for over half an hour and when we were let back in there was no apology or explanation from the staff. To top off a bad night we had ordered our breakfast to be brought to our room between the times of 9.20-9.40 as they give you 20min slots so when the door went I answered it still half asleep after hardly any sleep and it was only when the Lady had gone did I look at the clock and to my disgust it was just after 8am! So of course I called the reception who spoke to the kitchen who said thay'd made a mistake but it was to late by then my Gf & I were awake and when we mentioned this when checking out the receptionist just took our key and walked away while I was talking with no apology or anything and I was being very polite indeed! So to sum it up the Hotel was lovely but unfortunately a few things including the staff let it down so I honestly don't know if I will be back in the future who know's..... Les mer

we recentley booked a night at the copthorne birmingham as we was having a night out,we found the room to be nice but very dated,and all that was in it to be dated,after our night out we was woken up to a very loud fire alarm in our room and had to evacuate at 4 am barely enough time to grab any clothes,most people still in sleep ware,towells etc we […] was out side for a hour in the rain not 1 member of staff came to see if we was allright or tell us what was going on,that i thought was poor service,in the morning at breakfast we was told a guest had been smoking in their room,no offer of appology, breakfast however is nice as much as you can eat buffet but make sure its in with your package or its expensive per person very nice weatherspoon next door though that do it for well good price would i recommend this hotel,yes its convenient for city centre but then so are all the others. Close to all central Birmingham attractions, with easy access to and from the motorway. Room was pretty much perfect , although a fridge would have been a nice 'extra' to have. I have just enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Copthorne and must admit the whole experience has been a pleasure. Very swift check in, all staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms nice size even for 2 people, bit dated but very comfortable and good facilities -even had a hair dryer! Used bath and shower both ok and clean white towels every day. Hotel had a […] small but adequate gym - open 24hrs and free.The location was good, close to train station and all town centre amenities, the Jazz bar located below the hotel was a bit noisy but once the window was closed you could not hear anything and being so close to Nandos was a bonus! Breakfast was fantastic - 5 star! even fresh salmon on the menu as well as the good old english breakfast, plenty of pastries and fresh fruit. Alreadly been online to look at my next booking as I will definetly be returning. Les mer

My daughter and i had a comfortable stay, at the hotel, just there for the one night, location is brilliant for brindley place, and symphony hall, and markets, and city centre, the rooms are very clean, quite dated, but that doesnt bother me cus a clean bed and clean bathroom is whats important. ,It is very good value for money. iv stayed in hotels […] in birmingham double the price which have been very nice, but id prefer that extra money in my pocket, so i will always stay at copthorn, for future overnight stays in birmingham. great value for money Les mer

We found the location brilliant and very central , However the bathroom in the hotel lacked a lot, it was old and felt a bit damp. The staff were lovely , Pity about the rooms and the bed was very uncomfortable. The service was great b. All in all had a great time , And for the price we paid it was`nt so bad.

Great hotel, lovely staff but very noisy - especially when people would return from night out (we were there Friday and Saturday) and very noisy in the mornings

The Copthorne Hotel is not worthy of it's four star status. Wall paper was falling off the wall in our room. There was an adjoining room attached to our twin room and the door between the rooms was unlocked which is extremely unsafe and not acceptable. We walked into this room whilst another hotel guest was in bed as there was no notice on the door […] etc. to say it led into another room, unacceptable. Both lifts were broken while we stayed there and we were on the fifth floor which meant we had to use the service elevator from the kitchen which was in complete disrepair and was filthy. The food was good, that is the hotels only redeeming feature. This hotel should be reviewed by the authorities and given its correct star status as opposed to continuing its false advertisement of four star quality. Les mer

This place is great. Very convenient location, great staff, clean, comfortable rooms of a good size and a tasty breakfast. For the price midweek too it can't be beaten. I will always choose this in future over any of the 'budget' chains (especially Travelodge, where I will never stay again).

fantastic service for my wife who uses a wheelchair. the only downfall was a vertical bar that was difficult for my wife to get up off the loo. otherwise it had excellent wheelchair freindly ramps etc.

Hotel is in a very good central location and the room was very spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Service was generally very good with small exception of bar staff who were pleasant but slow and seemed inexperienced/untrained. Very good breakfast also. The hotel stay itself was fine however the heating system has seen better days. It was like someone playing a drum in the room when the heating started back up in the morning. The room was comfortable however the mattress had a spring sticking through it. An easy choice for a stay - great price, included a great hot breakfast (we'd expected average continental, but you were spoiled for choice. The downstairs reception and lobby were much more modern and recently renovated than the slightly tired rooms and corridors (we were on the first floor), but beds comfy, clean and with lots of hot water. Chose this hotel for a night to watch a concert. The location is ideal, mid way between the shopping center and the NIA with plenty of dining options within a 10 minute walk. The rooms were clean and comfortable if a little dated, particuarly the bathroom. Our window faced the rear of the hotel looking over a pedestiran square and the exit to a shopping […] arcade which included a Wetherspoons pub. There was some noise at "chucking out" time which did disturb us but not enough to spoil our stay. If sleep is important a room at the front may be better for you. The bar staff were polite and helpful and we benifited from complimentary breakfast which was excellent. For the price we paid, this hotel was superb,and even for double that price it would have been fine. We stayed on New Years Eve and the location was excellent - really close to all the action and the fireworks at midnight. Considering the staff were working New Year, they were so friendly and polite that you didn't get the feeling they were begrudging […] having to work. Although the room was slightly dated the room was clean and the location of the hotel is excellent. Whilst I was there improvements were taking place, they did not cause me any inconvenience and it was nice to see that the hotel was being well maintained. I would have liked some biscuits with my tea though, and a shower cap!

Stayed at this hotel during a busy weekday in December as I was attending a Christmas Party and needed a crash pad for the evening. The location is the best thing about the hotel with Broad Street, Mailbox and German Market right on the doorstep. The hotel was as very good value for money. The rooms and corridors on the other hand are dated and shabby in some areas. This hotel is long due a refurb but my only question would be that if this was to happen, would the hotel still be great value? I doubt it. Pleasant reception staff, room ready on arrival. weather was very cold with lots of snow but room clean, warm and comfortable. Tea, coffee etc refilled daily.Walking distance to Bullring and mailbox shopping malls..German Christmas market right next to hotel handy for Christmas shopping.
