Hotellet ligger bra til ifht shoppingområdet. gangavstand til det meste. Vi hadde imidlertidig problemer med å få sove...Vi hadde rom ut mot hotellets bakgård og en nærliggende pub. Høy musikk holdt oss våkne til 02.00 første natten. Så ble vi vekket 06.00 av en lastebil som kom for å hente tomflasker fra hotellet. ømming av flasker pågikk en drøy halvtime. Det samme gjentok seg neste morgen....Vi ba om å få bytte rom, noe som ikke var noe problem. Fikk da rom ut mot trafikk, men doble vinduer stengte lyd (og luft..) ute. Sengene kunne med fordel hatt en overmadrass. Elles helt greit hotell, noe slitt.

Having stayed at this hotel on and off for nearly decided to book for the rest of my business stays in Birmingham. The decor is tired, cleanliness is good but what makes it worthwhile is the accommodating and friendliness of the staff.

I stayed here Dec '09 and had a very pleasant experience. The winter festival of Birmingham practically surrounds the hotel. Food, drinks, fun within walking distance. Highly recommend during this time of year. I stayed here again July '10 and had a completely different experience. Summer months in Birmingham are quite bleak. The central area of the city lacks quality restaurants and is overrun with vagrants and beggars . I will most likely pass on this hotel any time I am in Birmingham from Jan-Oct. Note: Parking is not free, Internet is not free but I was able to grab wireless from an unsecured network in the area. Good room service food.

Perfect location right in the centre of Brum, Broad Street, New Street, Bull Ring on doorstep. Highly recommended

Check-in was great. Staff really friendly and helpful, no problems at all. Rooms are very dated, particularly the bathrooms, need a complete refurb, Although very clean, they looked about 20 yrs old, so much so that the bath had those hairline cracks in it from being used for years! For a city centre hotel at 4* you expect so much more. The restaurant, based on a singapore-style, was always dead, which is unsurprising given that such a theme is very bizarre in a 4* hotel - came in from town via that way and the staff almost dragged me to the tables to eat! The disappointment in their faces when we walked past was almost heartbreaking! Acceptable standard, but certainly not stylish and very 80s in decor....

Excellent hotel for traveling on a business. Great location within Birmingham ciy centre. Would recommend to friends and colleagues.

This hotel is in a good locatation but right from setting eyes on it it looked tired and in need of a refurb, even from the outside. When inside the general area is acceptable but could be better. The rooms are very tired and our lamp was broken and the general lighting was very poor. Impossible to put your make up on ladies. The bed was very uncomfortable with that "roll together" effect you have to fight all night. The desk area etc was very poor and looked like something right out of the 70's. Even though this hotel was cheap I would not reccomend it. I cannot see how it is 4 star. I wish I had gone for a nicer 3 star.

Good hotel, great location, friendly staff and a jazz club next door so what more could you ask for...

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff - friendly courteous and helpful - only downside the hotel probably doesnt meet usual 4 star standards, if this upgrade happens it will be excellent

EXCELLENT hotel!!! Staff extremely friendly/courteous/helpful. GREAT location in city centre. A must place to stay when you visit Birmingham. Will stay there again!!!

Room was lovely, although very hot. Windows did open to let a breeze in, but it was very noisy...Not the hotels fault though! Hotel lovely and clean, service very good, and location was ideal for the shops, resturants and pubs.

The Copthorne is ideally located in Birmingham centre and is within walking distance of the Bull ring, ICC, NIA and Brindley Place. The service at reception was excellent and the drinks at the bar reasonably priced. The rooms were ok, though need updating, comfortable enough for the price though.

An excellent hotel and ideally located. Great location if you thinking of going to the NIA or shopping. Very impressed

My main priority was to have a quiet room , the first was by the lift and the second by a disco which continued till 3 in the morning , in the morning when i asked reception again whether they believed that to be a quiet room they said no i should have had another further down the corridor .and they promised that was what i would have next time , but there will be no next time . For a 4* hotel , it was shabby and smelt of fried food ....horrid .

Rooms spacious and clean with a great view over Birmingham. Hotal reception staff very unfriendly and quite rude at times. Parking costs ten pounds a night which we weren't informed of and when we left the hotel we had to wait 35 minutes for a porter to unlock the car park so we could get out. Won't be visiting again.

I love this hotel. Especially for England. It was lovely, spacious and clean.

Easy to get to by car and very convenient to walk to all areas of the City center. Comfortable for a weekend getaway. Did not eat there, but Breakfast area is very uninterestingly decorated.

The requested wake up call and newspaper were forgotten. This was important as it was a business trip and I needed to be on time. The shower did not work properly and the towels were hidden in the wardrobe. The promosed breakfast voucher of £8.50 changed to £10.00 overnight. On checking out the receptionist was abrupt and kept me waiting whilst she shuffled papers on the desk.

Comfortable hotel in Central Birmingham and easy to get to by road and rail. Good for the Rep, Symphony Hall, and Art Gallery. Clean rooms of average size. Breakfast a bit expensive.

My son and I stay for the weekend at Copthorne to attend a concert at te Symphony Hall. The location is perfect, only a short walk to the Hall. The condition of the hotel is fantastic, room is cosy as my 10 year old said. He likes it so much he wants to come back again just to stay in the hotel!!!

Several colleagues and I booked this hotel because we had a corporate ball at the ICC and this hotel is a couple of minutes walk. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable and bar prices were reasonable. The only snag was the limited carparking spaces available for hotel guests. There is a another carpark in the hotel grounds although it is expensive and awkward as the tarrif changes at 6pm and you have to renew your ticket. Having said this the hotel staff tried their very best to ensure we could park in the hotel spaces.

The hotel couldn't have been in a better place for us. It was ideally situated for the Birmingham Tattoo Show and close enough to the town centre for a drink afterwards and within walking distance. Th bed in the hotel was uncomfortable but otherwise ok. The decoration was nothing to write home about. When we arrived we were told there may not be any room on the hotels' car park and that we may have to put it on the multi-storey close to the hotel, luckily we were able to park on the hotel car park.

First room we were allocated had been used by a smoker, telephoned reception and duty manager appeared within 5 minutes and changed our room. Excellent repairation. People who smoke in bedrooms should be banned from staying at hotel in future, especially as it is illegal now!

Excellent location for shops, restaurants and bars in the city centre. Pleasant stay with very good service. Hotel looks slightly tired inside but clean and had everything we needed. Good value

The decor was a little bit dated but the room was clean, service good and the food was good quality. Reasonably priced for a central Birmingham hotel as well.

When we arrived at the hotel, they gave us a free room upgrade as they were not very busy. It was a nice thing to offer. The room was clean, large with all amenities. The computer in the lobby was for a fee which I don't mind, but for some reason, I was unable to send emails. Other than that, the location was great, the service was exceptional and it was a great hotel.

The location of the Copthorne Hotel Birmingham was perfect for our stay. We found the staff to be extremely pleasant, helpful and friendly; the hotel was well maintained, spacious, clean and tidy, and provided us with everything we required. We had a great stay and will endeavour to return to the same hotel next time we visit Birmingham, we would recommend this to anyone.

Hotel location was ideal, did not need taxi anywhere. Slightly disapointed in parking...and also ther was only 1 robe and slippers in our double room!!

The room was quite nice and spacious. However, it was extremely stuffy. We could not open the window due to the proximity to the dual carriageway, which was really noisy (and kept us awake at night). The bed was really uncomfortable and sagged in the middle, so in all in all hardly slept a wink!

I stayed in the Copthorne for 2 nights. The rooms are comfortable, though nothing special. The location is great, staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel just feels like it needs a makeover. I would reccomend the hotel , and stay there again myself, as it's a good hotel for the money.

I used to stay here regularly 3 years or so ago and it was A1. Returned recently and generally it is still excellent but the room I was in was maybe a little tired, but was a good stay with efficient staff and no problems. The handy on site car parking was very useful, but not always available so arrive early in case it gets full.

The hotel is in a superb location but the room was really dated and had a damp / musky smell. The whole hotel really needs to be re-furbished as it looks very tired.

Spacious and well equipped rooms by London standards. Situated right in the heart of the cultural center of rehabbed Birmingham. Good staff, lots of comfort. Breakfast a bit of a rip-off but that's the only shortcoming.

The hotel is perfectly situated for the theatres/concert halls of central Birmingham as well as the nightlife and shopping. It is easy to access with its own parking and the hotel was clean and comfortable with extremely helpful staff on reception. We booked just a day and a half before our stay and were very pleased with the standard of the hotel and the value for money it represented. We will definitely use the Copthorne again.

Booked online at a reasonable discount, room was good size, if a little "tired". Bathroom tiled area around bath/shower needed to be cleaner. As we were staying just 1 night, it was more than adequate for our needs. One comment tho' is that bar drinks are VERY expensive ! ( or are we out of touch?) Very central to our second city's centre, which is well worth a visit!! I would say that over all the hotel is an excellent 3 star, rather than 4 star as rated elsewhere.

Well done, but car park should be more spaces, for over height car, remove the over head sigh in the car park.

upon arrival from the concierge service with parking assistance we appreciated the care and attention shown to us, we were only styaing one noght but from front desk, bar staff to concierge everyone was extremely helpful and friendly, coupled with the fantastic rate for a city centre hotel, we will most definately be booking again.

I took my girlfriend to this hotel for a night so we could spend our aniversary in the centre of birmingham, near the shops and restaurants. When we arrived we were supprised at the parking they offered. The reception & conceirge was fantastic, they where very helpful and provided a quick service. The room was really comfortable, and the heating was effective. The bathroom is ok, but nothing special, you get a basic shower/bath, but plenty of mirrors!!! Location was however excellent, the link bridge and top door great for walking into town, turn right and your on broad street, ideal for the ICC & sypthony hall, turn left and go through the mini mall there and your at the town hall and the heart of birmingham great for shopping!!!

ok location from the train station, some signs to the hotel. Internet never worked in my room, but quite enough. Dated interior.
