"Not as nice as previous Carlson properties"
It was adequate. The rates are reasonable. They provide "pet friendly" rooms, but hotels.com website did not mention there is an additional $30 fee to bring in a pet. I would not have brought my dog along had I known about this fee.

"Maple Grove"
Very nice rooms, well decorated. Clean. Only surprise was the handicap accessable shower, no tub. Great breakfast.

This was a nice clean and quiet place to stay and there is also good customer service. My husband and I went here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I booked the room with a fireplace, at least according to the website that I booked it on. When we arrived and went to our room of course there was not any fireplace and the clerk on duty was very […] nice and understanding and we were able to book a room with a jacuzzi. "Good location, clean and quiet"
The hotel is not a flashy hotel but the accommodations were great. We had a microwave and fridge which was great. The bed was so comfortable, if you like a softer bed. The linens appeared and felt clean. Will definitely go there again when in the area.

I make it a habit to stay at this hotel while on business trips. The room, breakfast and pool/hot tub are great. The room rate is very reasonable for the services you get.

"Ok. Hotel, basic amenities and dated.."
Hotel is ok, overall would stay again especially since all the rooms are smoke free, apparently a novelty in the Brainerd area. The hotel's decor is very dated, the bathroom's did not have appropriate ventilation fans and tubs were slippery. The breakfast staff was excellent and the overall food quality was good. Didn't make use of the pool or what […] not so I can't comment on them. The double beds were awful and was sore for several days afterwards. I am not expecting tempurpedic or sleep number beds, but ouch! The rooms were dated but clean, the a/c system is outdated as it was either on (COLD) or off, which made the room hot. Should update to include thermostat controlled a/c / heat. Refrig in the room was a good plus and the TV was new and HD. Queen beds would be better and replacing the conference style chairs with a recliner or updated chairs would have improved the comfort. Les mer

We had a very nice stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice. If we go to Minnesota again, we would definately stay there.

I have stayed at a number of country Inns and thought I knew what to expect. I was very disappointed by this one in Baxter, MN. It was clean but the decor was outdated and worn. Also it seemed to be understaffed . As no one was taking care of the breakfast area, I was there with an hour left to serve and everything needed to be replenished. Also the […] garbage containers were all overflowing. The hot tub was not working properly and the door to their maintenance room was open & unattended & the pump was loud & distracting. Hotel staff was the nicest staff I have come across in years! Asked for more pillows and got them right away. WAY TO SOFT! Bring my own next time. Pool was very nice and clean, adult time meant adult time, NICE! Hotel room needed some deep cleaning. I did not sit on the chairs. Carpet needed cleaning and there was hair on the bathroom floor and the […] tub did not drain very well, again needed some deep cleaning. We were on the bottom floor and the room above us had a child in it so at 6:30 am I was awake from the child running from one end to the other. Not the hotels fault at all. "Baxter Stay"
The hotel was nice and the staff was very nice as well. The room was clean, one issue I has the toilet keept running and the staff did come to fix it, and then it would start up again after one use. The A/C unit had some of ots own issues, It would work for a some time and then stop. The hotel is OK but needs some maintanence !!!
"Needs Updating"
This hotel needs updating soon. We had requested a non smoking room and got a room that smelled like smoke our entire stay. Tried to get switched to another room, but the only open rooms were smoking!!!

The room was very clean however it is in need of updated carpet furniture and Tv. All looked to be from an era of 20 years ago.

I would try a different hotel before staying here again.

This hotel was clean and neat, but is in need of updating. Carpets shows stains and wear. Eating area is small if hotel is full.
