Hotellet er helt greit, men litt langt unna sentrum. Man må kjøre bil eller ta en buss som kun går noen dager i uka for å komme ned til sentrum. Ligger rett ved motorveien uten at det var noe forstyrrende. Bassenget var deilig å ha, og det er jucuzzi der. Rommet var helt greit, et helt vanlig rom med kaffetrakter og micro.

"Close to all events that we had to go to."
Everything was great except the entrance off of Madonna--it is too steep and ends right in the middle of people trying to sign and to get out. I am amazed that more accidents didn't happen, especially when driving stick shift cars

"Not worth it"
the bed was uncomfortable. It looked dirty. i didnt even want to step on the floor. I even wipped my dog's feet before letting her on the bed. (even though i feel the sheets were dirty anyway.
"A Little Run-down"
For the most part, this hotel offers friendly service, and is very conveniently located. I just have a couple gripes. First, the room we stayed in was somehow connected to the plumbing in the rest of the buidling because my shower's water temperature kept randomly changing to super hot or ice cold for a few seconds while I was showering. Second, the […] bed was comfy, but the pillows were super lumpy, finally, the condition of the room is just a little old and run-down. Our toilet had a chip in the porcelain that looked like a yellow stain. If you don't mind a few little inconvenieces like this, then the room is good for the price you pay. I was in town for the SLO Half-Marathon, so we were in walking distance of the Madonna Inn finish line, and very close to the freeway. Les mer

Room #122 must have had the carpets cleaned prior to us checking in. We did notice the front window was wide open when we entered & thought that was unusual since it was raining and cold outside, Shut the window and didn't realize the floors were wet until that evening when we got ready for bed. "Convenient location but needs some improvement"
We stopped off in San Luis Obispo as a halfway point between San Diego and San Francisco. The location of this hotel was convenient and check-in was easy. However, upon arriving to our room, we opened the door to find a musty smell in the room. Beds were somewhat comfortable; however, there were lipstick stains on one of the pillows, suggesting that […] the linens were not cleaned properly, if at all. In the end, the price was reasonable and the location was convenient. I would recommend this room if you were just passing through the city for a night, but would entertain other options if you were to stay in San Luis Obispo for a longer stay. Les mer

We really enjoyed the cleanliness of the room, and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We felt very comfortable, and had a great night's sleep. The hot tub was wonderful. We will definately stay there again.

"Needs work - badly"
It's a shame this hotel is so poor because it's in a good neighborhood & close to good shopping & restaurants. But the hotel really needs work. Our room was clean but had mold & rust in the bathroom. The toilet seat was loose & one of the lights was burned out. The refrigerator worked fine but had a loud, annoying ticking sound. We called the front […] desk & they said nothing could be done about it because the maintenance man was off on Saturday. Really? Wouldn't that be the busiest day of the week for them? The carpet was stained badly & the ironing board cover was really stained & had a big hole in it. And the bath tub wouldn't hold water. I won't stay here again & recommend to anyone staying in the area to pay a little for a better room Les mer

"Hotel in SLO Calif"
It was ok, quite, clean and was able to bring our service dog with us, however, the room was in serious need of painting! the bathroom walls and ceiling was pealing and had rust around the window sill. Otherwise, for the price, it was a good deal.

We stayed at the Vagabond hotel for a visit to SLO. The quality of the hotel was very nice for the price we paid. I was very happy with the front office staff, as they were kind and helpful. We needed to bring our pet which is the reason we chose this hotel. The outside area was extremely clean!! There are also a lot of restaurants within walking distance […] as well as a small mall and a Starbucks across the street. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in SLO. Very disappointed in our room. The hotel was very rundown outside and inside. The continental breakfast was almost non existent. They didn't have a morning paper as advertised, said they only got them on Mon-Thurs. We stayed two nights and after they made up our room, they forgot to replace coffee and bathroom tolietries. Stayed 1 night. Hotel is older. Room needed to be aired out and even after that has a musty odor that remained. Maintenance is at a minimum. Short walk to resturants. Wouldn't stay there any longer if I had a choice of other available hotels in area for the time booked.

LOOK AROUND THERE ARE BETTER PLACES ROOM DIDNT FEEL CLEAN. LIGHT BULBS OUT, HAIR DRYER PLUG NOT WORKING, SHAMPOO BUT NO CONDITIONER. FIRST ROOM SMELLED SO BAD WE MOVED TO ANOTHER ROOM, SHOULD HAVE MOVED TO ANOTHER HOTEL BUT IT WAS LATE AND WE WERE TIRED.
This was a one night stay in San Luis Obispo to visit my Grandson on my way to Santa Rosa. Location was perfect for dinner at the Madonna Inn and the Swap Meet on Sunday morning before continuing my Road Trip. Accomodations at the Vagabond were great.

The hotel.com said they had hot continintal breakfast and they did not. Our heater did not work but they brought in a space heater. The front desk person was very helpful and nice which helped lot
"Hotel nice/ manager horrible"
I have been looking for a home in this area. I was also on a work related trip! For the price the rooms were nice. The lady on days was really good too. BUT THE MANAGER WAS AWFUL! I realize that not all countries treat women the same, but this is San Luis Obispo! I expect when I call to the front desk and tell them that there is one dog in the room […] on my R side that has been barking for three hours and two on my L side , SOMETHING should be done. When after 30 more minutes they were STILL BARKING. , calling their room isn't enough. He said the next morning that he couldn't leave the front desk. I doubt he had a line at 2 am to check in! I also expected an apology NOT a RUDE PERSON TELLING ME THAT THEY ALLOW DOGS so tough stay elsewhere!! DON'T WORRY I WILL. I HAVE TOLD THE TRAVELING NURSE SERVICE I WORK FOR TO TAKE THIS HOTEL OFF THE LIST!! This wasn't my first problem either. I had stayed three different times due to the location for several days each time. The first time the shower wouldnt drain Snd the same RUDE MAN said toning could be done until monday( it was Friday!!!!!) HE HAD PLENTY OF ROOMS OPEN THEN AND OW I KNOW WHY!! I asked to be moved and he said " our maids are gone for the day" well the tub is full so you shouldn't rent the room until its fixed anyway!! BUT I FOUND A BETTER DEAL! For 1/2 the price, you can stay at San Luis Inn and Suites! Not 5 star, but clean, and THE KINDEST LADY FROM THE SAME COUNTRY THE AWFUL MAN IMMIGRATED FROM SO YOU KNOW IT'S JUST HIM!! This hotel is older and in need of some repair and upgrades, but the room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was good. Right across the street from a shopping center and next door to an IHOP. My family and I were only there overnight, so it was ok. I probably will not stay there again.

Great location next to the Madonna Inn, across the street from Madonna Plaza with a mall, grocery store. close to freeway. had microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and blowdryer. liked that the hotel was butt up against the mountain that we could see from bathroom window. downside was that room was pretty cold with older single paned window and heater […] was above our heads which meant that to stay warm, the heater had to be on and it was pretty noisy. couldn't believe how thin and skimpy the blankets were. had to sleep with coat over me to keep warm. also shower drain was clogged. price was good for what we got. next time would have asked for more blankets, but it was late at night when we went to sleep. may consider returning. for price i could bring a portable heater and more blankets. person at counter was pleasant Les mer

"Worse Hotel Ever"
This was a dirty, stinky, bug infested hotel. The bedding was also nasty. The toilet didn't work properly.

The continental breakfast was about as skimpy as it gets. The muffins had to have been left over from the previous weekend, no toaster. Why even put anything out, if that's the best you can do. Denny's next door, maybe that's why they don't care. That being said the room was clean and in above average condition.

Traveling up the coast from SD to SF area, this was the perfect, reasonably-priced and comfy place to stay with my 9 year old daughter.
"HORRIBLE STAY"
STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. I only got about 20 minutes sleep. It has the WORST beds EVER!!!! If the floors weren't so gross I would have put the sheet down and slept on the floor as I'm sure it would have been better than the bed. The Lobby stunk like ARMPIT and CURRY!!!!! Major problem with parking. The parking lot is jammed with cars and one has to climb a hill to find parking in the upper lot since the lower lot is next to a 24 hour Denny's where people often take the inn's parking spaces. The breakfast consists of small muffins, stale coffee, and there is absolutely no room to sit down since the breakfast room is […] right in the lobby. Like right next to the check in desk in an area about 7 feet by 6 feet. The clerks are not exactly cheerful either. "Excellent quality for the price you pay for"
I used this hotel more than once. Reasonable priced comparing to other hotels of the same level in the same areas. Rooms are clean and good maintained. Breaksfast is very simple but adequate.
