Nice location for the convention but not much else. The charge for wifi is a bit much. Most places have free now.

The hotel was across the street from the Anatole which is where the convention I was attending was held. My room was very comfortable and had nice amenities like a mini refrigerator and iron and ironing board. The rooftop pool and gym was great and open late so I could do my workout even though I got to the hotel after dinnertime. The breakfast buffet […] on Friday was okay - the fresh fruit was the best part and had a large variety of delicious in season fruits! I found out from other convention attendees that had rooms at the Anatole that that hotel stripped the rooms of all the amenties - even the coffee makers were taken out and they paid MORE for their rooms than I did and I got ALL the nice things a 5 star hotel gives you! I will re-book at this hotel for A-KON 2014 - the service was great and the room worth the money I paid!! Les mer

Upon arrival at the hotel, we learned that it was valet parking only - with a $22 per day fee. I was unhappy about this, as had not expected this additional fee. At the end of our stay, I got my folio of charges to review. To my surprise, the hotel had automatically reduced my expected overnight fee by $30/night which completely offset the parking fees. […] This attention to detail, along with the friendly and helpful demeanor of all staff, made for a truly great experience. Overall, the hotel was amazing! The rooms were immaculate and very spacious. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The restaurant exceeded expectations! I certainly have no complaints about this hotel. Everything was super clean, service was speedy, and staff members were very friendly. Location is fantastic and close to the heart of Dallas. Fitness center on the 30th floor was nice. Rooftop pool and hot tub were nice, although somewhat anti-climactic... I suppose I was expecting a dramatic poolside […] view of the Dallas skyline, and was disappointed that the tall cement wall surrounding the rooftop amenities completely obstructed what could have been an astounding, memorable view (Although I realize safety here is a concern, it doesn't seem that it would be too difficult or cost prohibitive to add windows or a viewing area so that guests can take advantage of the cool views). Our deluxe room was high end and modern with a stunning view of downtown, but somewhat devoid of the character we were expecting from a hotel of this price point. Worth mentioning is Asado, the lobby bar and restaurant, which serves up gourmet 'farm-to-fire' fare and spectacular cocktails at reasonable prices. My expectations were met in every aspect at this hotel, though they were not *exceeded* as I had secretly hoped they would be going in. Everything is perfect except I found some hair on the pillow which means the cleaning staffs did not do their jobs very well.

timelyough I wasn'tmade aware of the hotel becoming valet only, it was convenient. I was in town for wedding and was running a bit behind. Little things like that are always helpful to know, however I love this hotel....It was my first leisure stay. The staff is always awesome... The hotel restaurant is great for folks that want to eat light and healthy […] or southern comfort (easy on the salt). I would pick The Renaissance over any other hotel near by. I love it! Les mer

This hotel is in a great location close to all the uptown Dallas attractions. It's easy to find and get to. The room was very large and spacious, as was the bathroom. The two sinks was a plus also. We had a great view of the city and even though the hotel is on i35, we couldn't hear any noise. I'd definitely stay again. One drawback was the expensive […] valet parking. Les mer

Me and my wife truly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The staff was completely non pretensious... Breakfast was amazing!!! My only gripe would be the fee for internet use. .. really? In todays day and age there should be no fee for internet at the hotel.

The reason we returned to this hotel is because we had a great experience in the past. But our last stay wasn't so great. When we entered our room, we were overwhelmed by the smell of mildew. I don't know if they had just cleaned the carpets, but the smell was horrible. We asked for another room, and the management quickly obliged. However, the second […] room wasn't much better. It was also surprising that wi-fi was not complimentary. The hotel charges $12.95 for 24 hours. So just be prepared to add that expense to the room total if you are planning on using the internet. The staff and management are great, however. We were allowed an early check-in, and they did allow us to switch rooms. But next time we will be looking for another hotel instead. Les mer

I have been a repeat guest at this hotel and this has to be the worst stay! The walls are soo thin and when you have noisy neighbors and lots of people in the hotel it makes for a long, noisy night! Our room was not restocked with fresh towels and it could have used a good dusting. The bath tub drain in our room was backed up and I was just so done […] with this that I just let it drain slowly...for the money you pay for this hotel, you would think the rooms would be better updated(no rusty doors or creaking beds and bigger bathrooms!). I have stayed at this hotel due to being in close proximity of where I need to be, but I think I will have to go elsewhere next time. The front desk staff, some of the restaurant and valet staff are nice. Janis was awesome to put us away from the elevator as I requested...with previous stays we were always next to the elevator. They need to step it up big time!!!!!! Les mer

Just got back from a stay here for the Cowboy/Eagle game 12/2/12. I was a bit disappointed with this hotel, as I checked many reviews of hotels in Dallas and went with the lesser evil on this one. The rooms are in need of renovation. There was rust on a bathroom ceiling hatch and the celing in the main room was lumpy and looked like it may have had […] some water damage. The TV and cable service were fine and the bed was fine besides one dirty pillow case on one of the beds.Food way over priced in dining room. Les mer

Stayed here for two days for my daughters birthday and to go to the Cowboy's game. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommadating. Would stay again without hesitation.

12-yr-old's birthday party w 6 girls. Requested adjoining rooms or at minimum on same floor. Hotel in person at 3:00pm to check in. Rooms on separate floors. After 20 mins, worked out with mgr that rooms were on same floor across from each other. 2nd room wasn't ready yet...but was blocked so that nobody could rent...Returned 7:30pm. "Blocked" room […] rented. Explained situation to exact same front desk attendant and mgr again. Both DENIED EVER SEEING US OR DEALING WITH THIS SITUATION. Ended up on different floor...handicap access floor. Rooms were adjoining but none of us needed hand-held shower nozzle or shower access seat. Shower curtain was not waterproof and water all over the floor. Ordered rooms with bkfst included. Attendant at the hostess station stated to check with the other and walked away. I finally got the attention of the second attendant who had been on the phone, and she seemed surprised that I was asking for a table. Granted, the restaurant was 3/4 full, so under most circumstances I would cut a restaurant some slack. HOWEVER, I literally waited 22 minutes just to get our drink order taken, and 30 minutes to get a cup of coffee at a BUFFET. I had to flag down the hostess to even find our waiter. Waiter never removed ANY used plates. He set the check down and walked off. Well, the check needed to be charged to the rooms. I again had to flag down the hostess to resolve the problem...and I really wanted a second cup of coffee that was never even offered... Les mer
