"an okay getaway"
I think people were curtious. They showed they were a pet friendly hotel. It was a nice experience.
We arrived around 10 and when we got to the room the card wouldn't work, but there was a TV on in that room. I went back down to the desk explaining to the front desk staff that the key not work, and I suspected there was already someone in there. She insisted that was not the case, did not call the room to check but instead gave me another set of keys […] to use. When we opened the door, there was somebody in the room assigned to us and we opened the door on them late at night. The situation was completely embarrassing and awkward. The front desk staff was not apologetic, continued to be rude and only after asking twice did she finally call up to the room to confirm that I was correct. We did get another room for the night, but this is a situation that I can only hope never happens again. There was no offer for compensation and no real apology. Given this experience, it will be very unlikely that I will ever book a room at a Comfort Inn again regardless of price. Les mer

A groupe of us came and stayed here for a ski trip to Okemo Mountain. The hotel was clean, easy to find, and close to many different options for restaurants. It was about 30 min from the mountain which was perfect. It was great to have a pool and hot tub for us to wind down in. The breakfast was good, and had more options than I expected. "Trolley Square Hotel in Rutland, Vt."
Enjoyed our overnight stay in this conviently located hotel. It's not the best, but far from the worst we have stayed in. Plus they have a nice pool. Would recommend this as an easy in/out place with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Terrific place to stay for when attending functions at the Rutland Fair Gorunds, which is right across the […] street. No having to worry about parking your car! Les mer

This hotel was very nice, only complain is that the pillows were very uncomfortable and small other than that good :)
"Comfortable Stay"
Very comfortable. Excellent water pressure, lots of options for the two hour continental breakfast. There is someone available 24/7, which was nice. TV with lots of stations. Will need some "upgrading" at some point, however you can't beat the price for the value of comfort and service.

Hotel is clean and easy to find and looked to be recently renovated. Rooms were OK, but nothing special, and appeared clean. Had modern flat screen TV. Breakfast was the typical "starch bar", about what I would expect from a free breakfast. Pool was on the cold side for me, but the hot tub was very nice after a hard days work outside. There is an active […] train rail located very close to the hotel, but the train must stop running at bedtime because I didn't hear it at night. The Comfort Inn Trolley Square is well maintained, clean, and comfortable for a brief stay. I've used this hotel many times to visit family and will return again in the future.

Those who had trouble finding this place didn't use a GPS, ours took us straight there. Yes, it's off the main drag quite a bit, but that really helps keep the noise down, and we had a window open all night. Of course, it was very hot in there, they really had the heat cranked up in the hallways, but an open window did help. The carpet was a bit 'wavy […] gravy' and it looked like the TV cable wall jack had a bit of strain on it, but everything worked. The bathroom has an odd configuration, but once you figure out how to get in and out, it's OK. The room was plenty big, and the bed was OK. The breakfast was the standard cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice and the obligatory waffle machine, but the lady helping in the breakfast room was very friendly, making sure that everyone had a chance to get what they wanted before she put everything away at the end of the appointed breakfast time. All in all, a good value, Rutland can be a very expensive area to stay, and this is an affordable option. Les mer

"Nice place with good rates"
The hotel is conveniently located although not right on the major route. Our room has nice mountain view. It offers free WiFi and breakfast from 6:30 - 9:30 AM which are added bonus.

The hotel's ventilation system was broken, but they did not tell me that when I checked in. My room was on the ground floor, with a window wide open (no screen) providing the only air. Additionally, the carpet was damp everywhere, there was mold on the ceiling, and it smelled mildewed. When I went back to the desk to ask for a room that had AC, I was […] told that the system was broken in the hotel. I complained that it wasn't safe to be in a ground floor room with the window wide open and was told, "You'll probably be okay." "Comfort Inn - Worth the stay"
Great location, friendly staff, good continental breakfast, overall very enjoyable stay! Would recommend for anyone staying in the Rutland area.

This was a poor experience. The clerks seemed bothered if you asked for help and one seemed more interested in a local hottie than the guests. The bed was uncomfortable with pillows that looked like they'd been take from a couch or loveseat. Fortunately, we only stayed one night!

I would like to let you know people that, this hotel is older than the Titanic. The AC on my room was bought by Abraham Linconln. Internet access sucks!!.. Weak signal and blinking network...I was planning to stay longer, but I checked out and move to Holliday Inn that have a strong and stable network. And is almost same price...

"Good Location, mattress needs replacing."
The location is convenient, the room was clean and spacious and the complimentary breakfast was above average. The mattress needed ro be replaced and the lobby computer failed and was not fixed or replaced while we were there.

Great place to stay! Exellent location for skiing at Pico or Killington resorts. Adequate continental breakfast for the day ahead with plenty of choice. Nice on site restaurant for evening meals with the option of C J s opposite the complex for 2$ happy hour 3 - 7 ideal after a hard day on the piste!! "What You See is What You Get"
This hotel had a great spirit and an idea to be "the friendliest hotel in VT" but it was the case about 10-15 years. The hotel needs a lot of upgrades such as replacing hallway carpet, replacing all hotel towels (White towels are about $2-3 at a local WalMart -I checked:), sauna should be fixed and re-opened -right now there is a lock on the door, also […] adding pay-per-view channels would be helpful too. Having said all that, there are positives: full breakfast bar where you can make your own waffles, Wi-Fi, jacuzzi, friendly personnel at front desk / breakfast bar and hotel's location - about 20 minute drive from skiing resort. So, if you are on a tight budget travel, I would recommend this hotel. Otherwise, I would seek an alternative. Les mer
"close to everything"
despite the small troubles this is a nice hotel to stay at. we could have done without the small tirade from the manager on duty,would have liked to have had our entire party together (4 rooms). We all agreed we would stay here again,for the price and the location it is worth the stay.The rooms were clean and comfortable.

This hotel was tucked away a bit, off the main roads so it was difficult to find, but it was nice. Very quiet in spite of the fact that the hotel was full. Had a hard time finding a parking space - probably because the hotel is next to a restaurant/bar and I came in late on Saturday, but again, it was quiet (no disruptions from the bar)
"Quiet, relaxing experience at the Comfort Inn"
My husband and I spent 1 night at this hotel, on our way home to Maine from Niagara Falls. It was a comfortable, quiet respite from our rather hectic vacation travels. The room was clean and uncrowded. The bed was large and comfortable with lots of pillows (a definite plus in my book, as hotel rooms never seem to have enough of them). Ample lighting […] in the bathroom. We had a nice partial view of the Green Mountains from our window, which we weren't necessarily expecting. Internet access was not only free, but required no special code or password to access. The free continental breakfast was standard, no better or worse than any others. The hotel was peaceful and quiet; we even left the window open (!) to let in some lovely fresh air. Since our stay was only for one night, I can't comment on the hotel's proximity to any attractions or activities, although it was a short distance (maybe a mile?) from downtown Rutland which is quiet and picturesque, but doesn't offer much in the way of entertainment on a Saturday night. There are, however, several decent restaurants there. All in all, we had a very nice, relaxing stay at the Comfort Inn in Rutland, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for that type of experience. Les mer

"Good Hotel Friendly Staff"
This hotel is in a very convenient location. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking can be tight if the hotel is full. Ask for one on the newly remodeled rooms. These room have a few amenities (refrigerator/microwave)that the other rooms don't and there is no extra charge! Free coffee and coffee maker in all the rooms too.

Room was very comfy, smaller room, but nice. We were at the Vt State Fair which was right across the street so it worked for us.

1. Beds were very hard. They need pillow top mattresses. Did not sleep well at all. 2. Tile in bathroom was loose and made a "thump" noise everytime you stepped on it. 3. Phone crackled when used (offered to send maintenance to fix it but we declined as we were only there until the next morning). 4.
