"Green Swimming Pool Water"
I was dismayed at the condition and maintenance of the hotel. The pool had green water.

Same as the last time I stayed here, the room was very clean and comfortable. Could use an in room coffee maker and refrigerator, but otherwise, it was great. Not much around close, but there is a 24 hour restaurant in front and other restaurants a short drive away.

Close to Kino Stadium, we chose this for the discounted price, but not as nice as the other Red Roof on Ina Road, where I'll stay from now on.

"Industrial Area Tucson"
Room was very comfortable and clean. Would have liked to have a coffee maker and refrigerator, but the price was right. Friendly desk agent and he allowed me to check in early without hassle. 24 hour Denny's restaurant in front with 10% discount for staying at hotel.
"Close to Tuscon area caves"
The room was clean and the staff pleasant; The restaurant on site was good. The only thing was that, for the price several motels will have a microwave/refrigerator. This however, does not detract from the room.
"For stays on the south side of Tucson"
If all that you need is a bed for the night, then this motel will be convenient for stays where you want to be on the south side of town. Can't say that there are nice restaraunts in the area. You will have to do some hunting. The lighting in the room is very dim, a casualty of the use of all compact fluorescent bulbs in all the fixtures.
"Near Freeway but Quiet"
Very convenient location near entrance to I-10. My room was in the back by the pool and was surprisingly quiet. Attached restaurant not my kind of food but handy to have on site. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The room was fairly clean and in decent shape. The shower water pressure was good, the water was hot, and the bed was acceptable. For someone on a tight budget,this hotel is worth the money. The only issue that I really had was that the ironing board was one of the small portable types, and I had to get the board and iron from the front desk as there […] are none in the rooms, which is definately not a deal breaker. "Always a reflection of the management"
This place is my favorite budget stay in Tucson. Always a great rate and the rooms have always, always been in fine condition. Old? Yes. Dated? A little. Sheets white and crisp? Yes. Restroom clean? Yes. Ice machine work? Yes. Clean? Yes. Would I let my grandmother stay there? Yes. The staff rocks. Management must be awesome.

Take trips to Tucson every 2 to 3 months to go to VA Hosp. By far the best all around that we have stayed in and convient to where we were going. Will stay here on our return trips.

Room was great, newly renovated, clean and comfortable, only problem I had was maintaining the temp in the room, a/c kept turning off, only stayed 1 night so didnt have it worked on.....

The hotel is too close to the train tracks as you can hear them all night. There was also someone with a lod radio and fighting outside the door. The hotel people were nice.

They made me feel unconfortable they tried to make me move rooms without giving me an explaination. I would never stay here again. I felt harrassed and i have stayed at the hotel in the past and never felt that way before.
My stay was good. I just wish they would put more towels in the room when you have more than one person checking into the hotel. The bed was not comfortable. Needs new matress. Overall good location.
"Noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in!"
The only good thing about this hotel is it is close off the interstate and has easy access; but the walls are paper-thin; we could hear NORMAL CONVERSATION in the adjoining room, not to mention the freeway noise & train horns blaring as they come into the Tucson rail yards... spent one night, would not stay again.

The front desk staff person was friendly and competent, and our room was well-appointed and clean. The bed was comfortable, and the location was quite convenient. Their pet policy was particularly agreeable. It was a great stay on a long road trip, and I highly recommend this motel.

The room was ok as far as the bed and the shower, which was excellent, lots of hot water. But the door latch, opened weird, and it did not inspire a lot of comfort and confidence. We had only one outlet in the room, besides the one by the sink, and only half of it worked and the one that did work, plugs were very lose in it. We stayed 5 nights and were […] only in the room at night, so it was ok, but it was frustrating in today's world to not even be able to charge 2 cell phones at the same time. The door latched was broken and the only way to open the door was to pull up on it rather than the normal push down. We had to have the front office girl show us how, so obviously they knew it was broken. As stated, it did not instill the greatest level of comfort, but it turned out to be ok. Les mer

"RR Inn btw airport and UMN"
Pros: cheap, convenient, free internet, clean, simple and neat Cons: can be noisy (my room faced the freeway), no free breakfast (but at least attached to Denny's) Other: my room lacked a table/desk while other rooms had tables. Overall, decent and affordable.
If you are looking for no frills chep this is a good fit. No extras....not even a blow dryer. But it was clean and cheap. Also very good access to freeway.
"nightmare at red roof inn"
Upon arrival & checking in at 5:00pm, we were given our room keys, got to the room, room was dirty, had not been cleaned yet!! Finally after getting into the room, the remote did not work, we were told none of the remotes worked in the entire hotel...asked for an extra pillow was told the hotel was booked up for the night (however the room next to ours […] and several along the side we were on was empty!!!) Went to get ice, ice machine was not working...Went to check out the pool, it was dirty had "things" floating in it...Next morning, did laundry, which washer & dryer located in the outside hallway by the ice machine and vending machines, the washer did not wring out the water in the clothes, had to wring out the clothes by hand and put into dryer, went to check out the pool in the daylight, it was filthy!!! Never again!!! If hotels.com had not already taken out the money I would have located another hotel! Les mer

It was a place to sleep and shower. My non-smoking room, smelled like smoke. Furniture (chair and table) were stained, it's an older hotel and I understand that. I would not stay there again.

"Red Roof Inn Tucson South-next door to Expo Center"
There were some major maintenance problems during our stay. TV was out for several hours, and Hot Water was out for the last 2 days of our stay. That said, the Inn HAD been struck by lightening a couple days earlier, the Inn got people on the problems ASAP, and they gave us a generous discount for our inconvenience. The Inn is not near much of anything […] except the Expo Center, which was our destination in Tucson, and it is close to the airport. It IS close to the freeway, though, so getting places and back is pretty easy. Tucson is spread all over the place geographically, so no matter where you stay you can't be close to everything. There are good roads, and GPS can get you anywhere, so it isn't a major problem. Les mer
"Sleepable"
I needed a room for the night before seeing the Ex and this was close enough to the airport for a late flight with a good cost. The room was clean, but not luxurious. The bathroom was clean and maintained. Everything worked, the water was clean and the air conditioner worked, though they had turned it off before I arrived. I checked in late, slept and […] left the next morning with a 10% discount from the attached Denny's. Most of the crowd there did the same and many of them woke up early before I did. If you need a place to shower and sleep for the night at a low cost, this is your place. If you are looking for a vacation, look somewhere else. Les mer
"close to a personally attended event"
Just needed a convenient place to clean up, change clothes and sleep. Place has changed slightly since my last stay 10 years ago, but I had a small refrigerator for food and drink back then.

it was in an area that was little seedy, and the hotel had nothing as far as ref, microwave or coffee.
ALL THE DOOR LOCKS WERE TERRIBLE TO OPEN EVERYONE WAS HAVING A PROBLEM, STANDING OUT IN THE SUN (109) DEGREES, TRYING TO OPEN THE DOORS. IT WOULD TAKE ABOUT 5 TIMES BEFORE WE COULD GET IT TO OPEN. THIER LOCKS HAVE A GLICH IN THEM. OTHER WISE WAS A GOOD STAY.

"Not bad"
For the price we paid it wasn't bad at all. Even though it was right off the I-10 you couldn't hear any traffic etc. Rooms were clean and the bed was alright "not hard as a rock" overall I would stay there again if needed.
"Still a good place to stay"
Last year I stayed here one night, this time I booked two. The staff is still very pleasant and accomodating, it's close to the airport, and easy to find. You can walk to the Brooklyn Beer and Burger, an equally friendly establishment. I look forward to a return trip here.
I was a little disappointed, the shower shown was not the shower in the room. No hand held shower head. The list indicated all rooms had a hair dryer, but there was no dryer. There was no ashtray in the smoking room and no do not disturb sign. But the room was clean
"For hard mattress lovers!"
We stayed at Red Roof Inn Tucson South May 5-7, 2011, which overall was fine except for the king sized bed in our room which was as hard as rocks. I know some people love a rock hard mattress & if you do this motel is especially for you! The shower was great, wonderful spray, lots of hot water. TV channels are minimal - great if you love Fox, not if […] you love MSNBC. A/c blasts the bed, you can't point it away from you, which made it very uncomfortable all night. I don't like cold air blasting me all night. I'm sure some people wouldn't mind at all. It's a great location if you have friends in the south part of Tucson. No free breakfast here, a Denny's is attached. Staff very friendly & helpful. Les mer

"Lipstick on a Pig!"
Couldn't get into the room. The door would unlock, but door wouldn't open. We figured out to lift up on handle and "put your shoulder into the door" and it would force the latch. Latch did not fully dis-engage. There was new carpet and new furniture, but it was covering old structure that hasn't been maintained. The AC rattled and knocked all night. […] It changed sounds too, so one couldn't get used to it making sleep difficult. TV channels did not match the "line up". No coffee maker in rooms. Have to walk half a block to office to get a cup of coffee. Les mer

Exactly what a Red Roof Inn should be. Great price. Average condition. Staff is awesome and caring. About my 5th or 6th stay and will return.
