"Best in Delaware"
I travel often for business and I was completely impressed by the staff and accommodations at the Hilton Christiana. Executive level was well kept and quiet, with a cozy lounge, and provided Wall Street Journal per my preference. I had a late flight and did not arrive at the hotel until late in the evening, 10:50pm, and hadn't eaten lunch or dinner […] yet that day. When the front desk found out I hadn't yet had eaten they requested a server to come right to the front desk to take my order while they checked me into my room, not only this, but they then prepared me a special vegan meal to fit my dietary restrictions while I freshened up in my room. This was the best experience I have had at any Delaware hotel. Les mer
I can't express how warm friendly and accomodating this hotel and the staff were to us! My husband (then fiance) and I decided to sneak away to get married before our big day in June and we found this hotel that graviously provided a space for us and our officiant, provided us witnesses, treated us to dinner in their great restaurant and had a bottle […] of champagne waiting for us in our rm with a personal note congratulating us! This is our anniversary hotel forever.. the staff scrambled and put all this in motion with little to no notice and we will be forever grateful! Thanks to the team that worked on 12/23!! "Hidden charges"
The room was nice and clean. I was glad to see they had smoking rooms available. Lots of places to eat in the sorrounding area. What I did'nt like was the additional charges on by back statement. The hotel charges 50.00 to cover essentials. Anything broken or stolen a charge is applied. The 50.00 is refunded when the room is inspected and all is well. "HILTON"
For being a Hilton I thought at least there would be a hot tub inside or outside that could be used...NOT... Most hotels have a swimmimg pool indoors @ i knew this one was outside but thought at the very least the hot tub would work.....Not to impressed!

"Hilton Christana - good experience"
The Hilton Christiana is a very nice hotel. We stayed there while visiting our child at UDel, and while it isn't as close to the campus as some of the other hotels, it was a pleasant place to stay and we would choose it again.
"hilton christiana - comfort and location"
my arrival and check in were easy and swift - parking was a bit tight due to the nearby businesses liking the 5pm bar deals...but thats the draw of a good sports bar! the barman and wait staff were knowledgable and swift as well. room was comfortable and the bed was excellent - it helps that the sheets were superior. only one thing marred the stay...coffee […] maker was no where near and electric outlet, and when i searched for the nearest behind the furniture, i discovered some missed trash (drink can and papers) and no outlet - just an open hole. that could happen anywhere, but you don't expect it at a hilton. This was a mid range hotel just off the interstate. It is pretty and clean. I was happy with my stay and if I needed to stay in the area again, would stay there.
"A Bad Experience"
When we checked in around midnight on a Wednesday with our dog, (after a long day of traveling) we paid an additional fee and were told that there were "special rooms" for guests with pets. We accepted this change and went to our room only to find that it was inferior to the room we had selected from hotels.com. The room had (2) full size beds rather […] than a King. We are both tall people, so I called the front desk to request a King or even Queen sized bed and was told that there were no "pet rooms" available with that specification. We stayed put since it was so late, only to find that the toilet ran all night and the A/C unit clunked. I certainly would not have expected this type of accommodation from a Hilton. We should have saved some money and stayed at a budget hotel. Les mer

great place, very clean rooms. Great Bar and restaurant. will stay again if ever in the area. good price.
"Review"
This "4.5 Star" hotel does not live up to this rating. 2 big issues: The 2 trash cans in the room were very small with narrow openings, and I had to call twice to get my room serviced on the second day. (to get the cans emptied and replenish the toilet paper (WE RAN OUT!). I had to call again the third day when the room had not been serviced by 7:00 […] pm and the young lady who finally serviced the room spoke NO ENGLISH! I could not communicate with her to request additional toilet paper or to leave extra trash bags. My basic spanish speaking skills were insufficient. The $15 a plate breakfast buffet was poor. ALL THE FOOD WAS COLD! Not even slightly warm. Not the best way to start your day. However, the orange juice was very good. I will not return to this hotel, even though I often visit to see family and friends. Les mer
"Hiton Chistiana"
Terrible experience. Put in a smoking room even though requested a non-smoking. When asked about it, the hotel staff continued to insist it was only used as a smoking room in the past. I'm all for putting a nice spin on it, but a room with 4 ash trays is a smoking room. A wake up call was requested but never received. In order to make up for it, I was […] given a $25 gift card to a local resturant for the day I was checking out (and leaving town). Rather than give me comp the room, I'm given a certificate I can't use. Room service was terrible. They brought the incorrect meal at first, then questioned my order when they brought the wrong meal the second time. Terrible service all around Les mer
"Wonderful hotel experience!"
My husband and I stay here at least once a year for a mini-getaway. The hotel, staff, restaurant, bar, grounds and surrounding area are wonderful. It is a beautiful hotel with a romantic country feel. We highly recommend it.

"not quite worth the money"
For the money I spent the room was "just ok". I found a dirty sock and papers stuck in one corner of the room. That gave me the creeps.
"Needs Improvement"
This "estate" (ha!) is a fine Hilton hotel, with comfortable bed, big flatscreen tv, and nice bathroom. However, for the ratings I saw and the way it has been portrayed on their site, as well as the price of the hotel, I was very disappointed. The service was not great, and I had several issues when I arrived at my room, including two non-working phones. […] When conveying this to the front desk, they were rude to me, which didn't start the night off on a good note. Also, the location isn't great, especially if you want to be close to the University of Delaware, as there's a confusing mess of highways to take to get back to the main street of Newark. "Not what I requested"
I was very, very disappointed when I checked into my hotel room. I specifically requested a king bed. When I went to the front desk to speak to the Front Desk Manager, I was told that they were sold out and that the information they received made no reference to the type of room I requested.
