The hotel was convienently located right off the highwayand in a nice neigborhood. However, it was fairly old and in need of renovations. I have stayed at lots of La Quinta Inns but this was the the worst one. The room was fairly clean but the bathroom was very run down and had mold in crevices of the walls.
"Best roadside hotel EVER"
This is, by far, the best roadside hotel I have ever experienced! The pros are its convenient location next to the freeway; immaculate, squeaky clean, and very spacious rooms; crisp clean sheets; helpful front desk; and free continental breakfast which includes Texas-shaped waffles. The cons are the slightly higher price and residual freeway noise. […] Our room faced the freeway, but rumor has it the back rooms are quiet. The noise was never an issue, though, because everything else was so over-the-top wonderful. If I ever drive across Texas again, I would stay here in a heartbeat. Les mer
"Smell of Room"
While our stay was a good one, the only complaint I have would be the smell of smoke as we walked into the room.....room was a "non-smoking" room. Not sure if the smell comes from someone actually smoking in or near the room, chemicals that are used to clean the room or detergents used to wash the bedding and towels; but, the room had a smoking smell […] to it. Overall we had an enjoyable stay. We requested an extra pillow two nights in a row and never received one. Other than that it was a nice stay.

I was expecting to see a small refrigerator, a microwave, and a coffee pot in the room. There was a single serve coffee pot with one packet of coffee, I was given more when I asked, but I had to ask. The room was clean and comfortable, but lacked any amenities that I was expecting.

First room assigned was not cleaned prior, second room was okay. Very old/dated and rundown.

The room had a bad odor when we arrived. It was neat, clean. Was disappointed in this hotel, thought it was a bit high priced for what you got. We paid the same price in El Paso for a much nicer hotel the next day. Breakfast was okay. Location was great as it was right off the highway. "A Good place to stay"
I was quite sore from the road and didn't avail myself of many services here. The breakfast was fine and the bed felt good. I rested much of the time I was here. When I asked the workers any questions, they helped. I liked the surrounding businesses, The city was interesting when I ventured out. It was a pleasant stay.
"Overall okay for a quick stay"
I stayed in a room with 2 double beds. Liked that there were plenty of pillows and clean sheets. Nice closet with doors to put clothes away and out of sight. A little bit of an odor for a "smokeless" room.

This was our last night out after traveling 5000 miles and eight states. We wanted a comfortable room and It was. The beds were great and the pillow good. The breakfast in the morning was decent. Would stay here again!

When I took a shower the water did not drain down and called several time to front desk to have someone fix the problem, but it was never fixed...Then the light over the sink would turn on and off by it self..Would not stay there again.

We wanted a smoke free room and it was very obvious that our room was not smoke free. We did call and let the front desk know, but there were no other rooms available. Also shower was hard to turn open and it felt like you were getting sand plasted. Very powerful water pressure.

This hotel is clean and quiet. However, the carpet in the room is well worn and torn in places. I would definitely stay there again when I'm in Abilene, TX.

"nice hotel, good location, good effort"
I was first booked into a room that had obviously been smoked in. Seems someone who booked a non-smoking room did not have the courtesy to keep from lighting up. I mentioned to the desk and they easily booked me into another room - good to go. I could tell that the desk did not know, and was frustrated with the last traveler... Water problems caused […] the water to be out for a short period, but the hotel was very up front about it when we checked in. We had water in about 15 minutes. HOWEVER the plumber made all kinds of goof ups and we had no hot water in the morning. I watched as the unsuspecting hotel was faced with an insurmountable and unexpected problem. They pleasantly refunded everyone's room with absolutely no hesitation whatsoever. It was the only thing they could do at this point and definitely the right thing to do. In today's unethical business climate, this was so amazingly refreshing to experience. Kudos to handling a difficult situation perfectly, and certainly head and shoulders above the my expectations of any competitor - in my experience. The room was very very clean. Even though the hotel was a tiny little bit dated, the overall condition, upkeep, cleanliness, and awesome service was impressive and well worth it. I would most definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place. It's so easy to be a-1 when everything goes just right, but how do you do when a little snag occurs? That's where we all want to be taken care of. These folks do the right thing, and that speaks volumes on what is obviously goes on behind the scenes. This is where I will stay in Abilene and would look first for my family and my business! Hats off to you! Thank you so much! Les mer
I stayed at this hotel for 1 night with my dog. Everything about the hotel met my expectations, except for all of the dog feces in the grassy areas. The hotel should really consider investing in some doggy poo stations that provide guests with pets a small baggy and a convenient trashcan so they can clean up after their pets.

"showing its age..."
For the money, this was the most disappointing stay I've ever had at a La Quinta -- apparently showing its age, this location still had a scorched, inoperable iron in the room and no hot water for early morning shower... room was clean and bed comfortable...

I was a little disappointed in the size of the room. It was clean, the furniture and sheets were in great shape. The sink was slow to drain, as was the shower. Over all the room was comfortable and clean.

"Tired travelers"
The room I reserved was not available. We were tired and got two doubles. Both mattresses sunk down, back acked in the morning. Room not clean. Stunk.

We really liked this place! It looks like an average motel from the outside, but the rooms are very nice inside - spacious, light, and very clean. Our room faced the pool, rather than the street or parking lot. The rates at this hotel are a real bargain, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the room was quiet. No fridge or microwave, though. The […] hotel is pet-friendly, and another plus is that it charges no extra fee for your pet. It was very easy from the ground floor to get my dog in and out, and down the side street for a walk. The next morning we realized several dogs were there overnight but we didn't hear any noise. "Excellent for driving stop"
This is an older hotel, not as nice as the newer hotels nearby. But the room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfy. It wouldn't be my choice for a romantic weekend but as a stopover while driving down the Interstate it was perfect.

This is a very clean hotel. The only problem I encountered was that I asked for a non-smoking room and my room had a Smokey odor and when I was showering the water went from warm to cold off and on thru out my shower.

"not what i thought"
i was disapointed that i only received a room that had been smoked in especially since i booked no smoking. my son has asthma and we were there for his U.S.A. track meet as well as there was no business center. i also didnt like that at checkin that the attendant at check in stated that even though i booked it that way that it is not guaranteed. that […] it is just advertised that way. "don't expect alot"
the motel had everything you expect from a decent motel, just not much more than minimum quality. adequate for an overnight stay. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We got there late But the front desk lady was very nice. The pool looked nice and I could see that everybody was having a great time. Breakfast was pretty good when they was running low they filled it back up.
