Room amenities were not available or functional - no coffee pot and non functional hair dryer . In neither case, substitute equipment was not available.

"Hawthorn suites Dayton"
I would recommend if just staying a night or two however, does need some updating and more parking. TV is outdated. Breakfast was good. I feel that because the room was booked through Hotels.com that the best is not always given.
Very nice hotel especially for what we paid for it. The only downfall was the beds were not very comfortable but it was very roomy and had everything we needed for a family trip.

"Don't stay on the bottom floor!!!"
I will not stay here again because of the noice between rooms and the terrible beds. Pros: -Nice room -full kitchen -NIce living area - Good internet - 24 hour vending area with an big variety of items - Close to the mall and lots of eating areas. Easy on and off the major interstates. - Very Nice staff Cons: - ON the bottom floor you hear everything […] above you, The toilet from upstairs is louder than your own. I do not believe the people upstairs were excessively loud, it was just the rooms - The beds are so bad. My back has not hurt in over a year but these matresses are so broken down. I even changed room with minimal improvement. When talking to other guests they all said the same thing. Even with all the things going for it, the fact that both rooms we were in had such terrible beds made it very hard for us. While the hotel is starting to show signs of wear and tear, the price is reasonable and is close to everything.

This is a clean, good value, hotel with a nice breakfast. Our room was near the road but not noisey. The fitness room has 2 treadmills (one did not work) and a bike. The room size is generous and the staff was very friendly.

Steps up to second level were worn down. Interior looked worn out. Chips in drywall etc. This hotel needs some remodeling.
Great place for quite cheap! The best continental breakfast I have ever had here. Fast wi-fi. Kind receptionists. All around a great stay!

I asked to be moved from a building in the back of the property to a room closer to the front and the staff did it with no problem. "Great Price Great room"
We were very pleased with this hotel Front Desk Staff was always helpful. Ammenities were great. Full kitchen was a BONUS! Free hot breakfast was nice. Unfortunately the WiFi was out for our entire 3 day stay which was upsetting but nothing the hotel could do about a blown router over a weekend. Other than that- excellent!

The room was very clean. That is something that I always look for. I enjoyed the free breakfast buffet. I will definitely stay there again.

There was no heat in room. When we complained we were told there was not any other room to offer. We were offered a duraflame log to burn in fire place, and they could not offer us a discount on room as we had booked thru Hotels.com. We did not want a discount we wanted heat. We told them we would not pay for a room that did not have heat and would […] be checking out and disputing the bill. They finally moved us to a larger room, that did have heat. Got in my room and the tv cable didnt work. They were fixing the lock on the door. The bed had spots on it couldnt tell what they were. I was in a none smoking room , i could smell tobacco smoke in the room. Asked for another room. 2nd room har to find but we found it, no cable but door lock was working. Went to sleep but couldnt sleep to much traffic […] noise from nearby highway. You could also hear people walking across the ceiling from the room upstairs most of the night. The rooms need a complete overhaul, the living room furniture has stains and the white chair was brown, the bed linens were dirty and the bathroom tubs I wouldn't step foot in Ever. Just terrible and totally disgusting, period.

We stayed one night at this hotel. It met our needs -- a pillow to lay our heads on and a shower! It was actually a little better than that.....the kids slept on a pull-out sofa. The staff was friendly but the check-in process was slow. They were able to move us froma second floor room to a first floor (sleeping kids to be carried in!). "A nice place to stay"
I've stayed here twice when back in Dayton visiting family. It is a nice retreat at the end of the day. Taylor was extremely helpful before and during the check-in process. Only challenge was getting the room cleaned. We seemed to be there when the housekeeping staff was completing their normal rounds but they did not check back throughout the day after […] we had left to clean the room. When I finally called on the third day to ask for the room to be cleaned, I was told they had many checkouts due to it being New Years Day and they would get the room cleaned when they could. It wasn't until later that evening that the room finally was serviced. Otherwise, yes the rooms are dated but they are fully functional. I recommend this to other family members in from out of town. The Hotel room was clean and bed was comfortable. old wood furniture scarred needs renovation of desk and tables. Nice kitchen set up asked for handicap assessible room only 1 suite left at back of hotel light was out so very dark no handicapped parking provided near suite or office. closet door off track fixed next day. good selection for breafast […] but was up stairs without elevator for handicapped. other down side water drained out too slowly and room very drafty cold air out of vents even when heat was turned up Les mer

"Plenty of room but needs a thorough cleaning."
Conditions were terrible. Furniture, bedding, towels, and walls had stains, dirt, food, and dust over all surfaces. Very disgusting conditions. Will not be staying here again. Also had problem with room charge being made to my credit card after pre-booking with hotels.com. Charge was corrected but had to spend extra time to straighten out.

The staff was friendly and the hotel was clean and neat. I would recommend it to anyone just stopping in for the night who's on a tight budget. For anyone hoping to settle in longer or to sit in the lap of luxury, not so much. There are signs that this property has been around a while, judging by the 28" old TV with limited channels, a tear in our sofa, […] flaking paint on the exterior wall, etc.We could hear creaking every time the person above us walked around (late at night, early in am).
