"Room availability/location of room"
I was somewhat disappointed upon our arrival. We had reserved a king bed but when we arrived we were told it was not available. Our room was located at the back of the hotel where the swimming pool was located. The sign at the pool said that the pool hours were until 9:00pm but it was not observed. The hotel was close by Galveston and very budget friendly. Breakfast was a good spread. Rooms were old and felt a little dirty. Sheets had a few stains on them.
"Nice hotel"
We were given a room next to the storage room and the ice machine and soda machine. I was initially concerned that we would have a noisy nice, but it was extremely quiet. My parents were next to the pool (that was closed) and it was noisier for them. All around a nice little place to stay. It was a great value for the money.

ECONIOMICAL place to stay before cruising on yor ship. Places to eat close by and a reasonable cont-type breakfast. Not a five star Motel!! Would stay again.
Very pleased with our stay at this Hotel. It was a repeat visit. We had Dr's appointments and testing scheuled early morning. Most convenient location to or Dr's office and medical facility. We will definitely use again if needed. Very nice , well pleased will every aspect of our stay.

Visited 3-23-2012 through 3-25-2012. I have stayed at La Quinta's across the country and was very pleased with my time there. This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I took a weekend trip with my daughters to the coast with the plan to shop and visit Galveston beach during the day and let them swim in the pool at the hotel in the evening. […] I was very disappointed upon my arrival because the pool was out of order. It had green smelly dirty water in it. So the picture I saw on the internet was very deceiving. Also, the bathroom sink was clogged and just before we left the toilet would not flush. Les mer
"La Quinta Texas City good for the money"
Upon arrival check in was quick and easy. Staff nice and helpful. Room was clean enough and cool enough. Lots of great seafood places within blocks. Only about 20 minutes to Galveston. Pet friendly. The breakfast area is too small and offers very few choices. For some reason we were locked out of the room on day 2. "terrrible customer service"
We were not able to check in to our rooms until 7pm. Front desk clerk was friendly but unable to be of much assistance due to general managers policies. Many other customers were also complaining about room issue. Once we checked in the room was clean and comfortable, but greatly overshadowed by terrible customer service.

Our hotel was exactly halfway to Kemah and halfway to Galveston which is what we wanted. We had a resturant in the parking lot which was great. We will be staying at this hotel again this summer!

Other than the hotel booking us for our 2 nights separately, the hotel was great. The beds were new and comfortable. The room was very clean and has all the amenities you need. I would definitely stay here again due to how close it is to Galveston. Very surprised on how nice it was. Definate do again

The room water was always cold and room was not clean the first day and went they came to clean the next is was wrest then the first day, tv leap going an and out......but on the other side it was and a good loctan....

The only downside to our stay was that were close to the highway and could hear alot of the 18 wheelers and loud cars going by. Everything else was excellent.

"Sorry for the inconvenience pool not working" this was a first signed foretelling what came later. Don't know why the experiences changes when you change from La Quinta to another one, its supposed to be same or close Breakfast was barely waffles, the mix came late, NO fruit or yogurt, except for a couple of rotten apples. They didn't make one bed […] arguing hotel policy does not let them manipulate any bed if there is a single guest item on them, which I kind of understood but they did not provide any explanations of the spiderwebs hanging on the ceiling just above my head. Customer service was excellent. Very nice and helpful people. The room was not exactly clean and the shwer drain was terrible. It is close to freeway and numerous restaurants. All and all, a pretty good place.

"Good room for the money."
My wife and I stayed here the night before our cruise out of Galveston. The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel staff was friendly. I could have parked my car at La Quinta while on the cruise, but the cab fare back and forth was more than the cost to park near the terminal.
"Some problems with wi-fi, but very nice room"
The wi-fi didn't work one night, but we didn't do much troubleshooting so the issue might have been a simple one. The breakfast is pretty plain. The room was very nice and comfortable.

"Good for the Price"
I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The only problem was I wanted a roll-away bed and they did not have one available. There were no sights to see in the surrounding area. It was close to a grocery store and several other fast food chains. It is a short drive to Galveston Island.

This hotel is not very well kept up. Peeling paint and loose caulk. The room smelled of smoke at first but it went away or we got used to it. Not enough towels in the room.

"Convient location, good rates, well maintained"
We were pleased with the hotel, the location was near enough to Galveston for quick access and not far from the Kemah Boardwalk which was great fun. We had reserved a lower level room because our son is in a wheelchair but the clerk told us that reserving through a site other then the hotel directly meant taking what ever was available. At my insistance […] he got on his computer and got us a lower level room. Overall a great stay. Will stay there next time. Les mer
"Don't call the frount dest for help!!!"
One of the beds in the two rooms that we booked telted with the head of the bed down 3o% our member inthe group had a medical problem and could not sleep in that bed. The frount desk said they would send the maintainace man to ajust the bed. No one after calling over two days stay with four diffrent desk staff never took care of our problem. Thats four […] diffrent people let this slip through there hands. Nor did they call to say anyting about why they could'nt hadle there problem Terrrrrbull!!!! Les mer

"L Q in Texas city...Great place to stay!!"
We ended up here by accident. We traveled with our Austrailan Shepherd dogs this year on our month long vacation. This day we had planned to camp, but thing went wrong, and it was almost dark. We tried 3 other motels, and a cabin resort before this hotel said "YES" your dogs are no problem. The people were soooo very nice, and the place was very, very […] clean and well kept. The breakfast each morning was wonderful!!! And it was 1/2 the price of the same room in Galveston, and only about 12 minutes away. We will stay there again if we get to that area from CA. Les mer

"Hotel in Clute near Surfside Beach"
Hotel was nice, good price and in a good strategic location just 8min from beach with markets around corner. Matt the manager was great, great attitude and very helpful at checkin and was the one who worked the most in front office. Need more tables in breakfast lounge it was a bussy weekend. Others who work there seem just like they are there just […] for a paycheck and not for the client. Need more happy faces and better attitude towards customer service. We were able to check in a little earlier so that helped for our group of 4 families. We are planning to return again with a group and hope to see Matt again. He's the reason we will go back there. "Did not like my stay here"
You have to walk outside to get to your room. No elevator service. The outside walkway leading to the room was very unclean; no one has bothered to pressure clean the walkway, thus you have to walk through a lot of lint, outside debris, bird poop. My 9 y/o was very eager to go swimming in the pool, but the pool ended up being a soup of dead and live […] bugs, outside debris at the top and bottom of pool. Did I mention the odor was bad. I almost regurgitated. My child ended up running away , instead of jumping into the pool. The only clean place was the front desk area. The breakfast was continental ; not bad, at least the front desk area where the breakfast is served was clean. Will not stay here again. Les mer
The room was very clean despite the reviews I read previously. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. The breakfest was very good, waffles, toast, muffins and various types of yogart were available. Had orange juice and milk. Check out was very quick and easy. Did not utilize their pool so do not know its condition! Price was excellent and we will stay […] there again! Les mer

Location of hotel is the problem--to far off the highway--After dark you're un-aware of location and/or area.
The manager and desk staff were nice and helpful. Only problem we had was with the room's exit door. It was not working well and locked us in our room. They responded quickly, with getting the door open but the repairs were only fair. In order to get the door to lock after the repair, you had to slam the door.
