DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Tucson Airport - Tucson

Changed a three-night to only one, and only one because it was the middle of the night on arrival. They didn't give me the room pre-paid through Hotels.com, instead having to sleep in one of two twins. Hotel severely outdated and many aspects in miserable condition. Will never re-book or recommend!

Another wonderful stay! We stay at this hotel at least four times every summer and are always pleased with the rooms,staff and breakfast.

Stay was great, breakfast was great...but the only thing I didn't like was that I could find the check in desk because the lobby is under construction and it was moved to one of the room hard to locate room...and when I ask someone that worked there they looked at me like if I was dumb for asking where the office was ...other then that great stay

I arrived in the evening and discovered that the hotel was under renovation and locating the check-in desk was a bit of a journey, following the little arrow signage to the temporary reception desk in Room 175. Was concerned that this might indicate poor service because of the remodel. Also, the name of the hotel changed to Doubletree, which was unknown […] to me when I booked the room the night before. So I wasn't sure I was in checking-in to the same hotel I booked. Not to worry, the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. I had a courtyard room on the ground floor which was nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. The hotel bar & restaurant, Finnegan's was OK. Good food but not big on ambiance. The complimentary breakfast was in a nicer area next to the bar/restaurant and featured a buffet style with several chefs standing behind the buffet counter, preparing your ham & eggs, etc. to order. The food was good and the staff very pleasant. The free shuttle service to the airport was excellent, with one-on-one service to your gate. My driver met me in the reception room and I had him get my luggage from my room which was a luxury I am not used to in non-luxury hotels. All and all, a very good experience that I would recommend to anyone who prefers to stay near the airport and wants a pleasant evening before a morning flight. Les mer

It is very good value for the amount we paid. Decent one bedroom suite with BF included near the Tucson airport. Hard to beat!

Place is great. Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. Service however, is very sub-par. Still, I do recommend staying here.

Loved the fact that the bedroom was separate from the living room. When the kids went to bed hubby and I stayed up and watched TV. We requested a roll away bed, crib, microwave, and refrigerator through hotels.com and it was in our room. Gate access was close. We could see our car from the balcony. Easy to get our luggage to and from the car. Continental […] breakfast was awesome! Hot and yummy. Had cereal and fruit for the kids. We showed up at 0840 and there was still lots of food left! The hotel has an excellent staff and the suites are very comfortable. One complaint is that upon booking there is a preference request area for a smoking or non smoking room. I requested a smoking room and upon arrival was told there were none left. The truth is there are no smoking rooms at all at the entire hotel. They do, however, have areas outside […] where smoking is allowed. There is also no way to control the temperature of the room when it is cold at this time of year. A portable heater has to be requested. This is not posted any where in the room. I had to inquire as to how to turn the heat up in the room before I was informed of this. Les mer

The hotel is in a good locaton, near the airport and shuttles and easy to find. The rooms are older, but clean and comfortable, except the bathroom was really little, but adequate. The rooms were very nice. All rooms were suites. The beds were very comfortable and the overall cleanliness of the hotel was good. The hotel is literally right next to the airport, but the noise from the airport was not a problem. I only noticed the planes during the day light hours. The warm breakfast that came with the reservation was of good quality […] and most of the staff were very friendly and courteous. I would stay at this hotel again. Les mer

We have stayed at this hotel several times, but this time it was a bit weird. I walked past a room two days in a row that had an extremely odd odor eminating from it. I think the guests checked out the morning of the third day and when I walked by after breakfast, there were painters in the room and the odor had dissipated. The hotel was ok, a little old and needs some updating though. The room was nice, clean and had plenty of room. The TV was old and the cable rceptionwas terrible, fuzzy. The biggest issue I had wit the room was the shower. I'm all for conserving water but the shower head they had in there was the weakest I have ever seen. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please do not stay here. The hotel smelled bad... So bad it almost made me sick. The good thing is, we just stayed for one night. My daughters went swimming and the pool was so disgusting. You coulding even see under water. Please do not stay at this hotel!!!

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME STAYING IN THIS HOTEL AND I LOVE IT. BEING A MOTHER OF A SMALL CHILD IS GREAT, HOWEVER IT IS SOMETIMES DIFFICULT TO FIND A ROOM THAT MEETS ALL OF YOUR NEEDS AS A MOTHER. THE BATHROOM WAS CLEAN ENOUGH FOR HER TO BATH, I LOVE THE FACT THAT THE ROOM HAS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR HER TO RUN AROUND IN AND I LOVED HAVING A FRIDGE AND MICROWAVE […] TO REFRIDGERATE MY BABY'S FOOD AND HEAT UP HER BOTTLES. Always stay here when I come to Tucson: great service and atmosphere/ Had a surprise this time - first experience with a sleep-number bed in a hotel!

Most everything was great. A few minor problems occurred, but was taken care of resonably. I think the rates should be a little cheaper as I have stayed in several hotels around the area and they run a little less. Overall it was a pretty good hotel.

The breakfast buffet was my only complaint, the food was not not too tasty and was bla also the same menu everyday we were there.

Don't bother letting the front desk know if you have any type of issue, it won't be taken care of.

I've stayed at this hotel a couple of times and I will stay again. The only draw back with this stay was they gave me a room with a sleep number bed and I didn't know how to adjust the settings. Man it was like sleeping on a wood board. But that is more user error than hotel.

Overall the hotel is a decent hotel and for the price it was well worth the stay. However... here are my complaints and that they could have been easily avoided is a bit irritating. (1) The TV in the main room did not work. The picture was fuzzy on most channels. (2) We ordered room service, overpriced french toast and: - had to call back and wait a […] while for the syrup they forgot. (then they brought us enough to put syrup on 2 slices of two different orders) - gave up on calling back about the butter they forgot - Called about the coffee in the orange carafe. We did not order decaf and they insisted orange indicates caffeinated. Perhaps in their world it does however given the caffeine headache I got that morning I would dispute it... Other than that the hotel was very clean and the main staff were very helpful and friendly. Les mer

Can't get much closer to the airport than this; its practically right next door. Overall, the room is quite comfortable with a separate living room, complete with fridge and microwave. The bathroom is a tight squeeze and the TV's are older. Enjoyed the free hot breakfast. I would stay here again.

A very pleasant surprise. Room was a 1 bedroom suite with refrigerator and microwave. Very clean and well maintained. Free wireless internet. Bathroom was large with seperate sink area and seperate shower and tub. Pool, hot tub and free gym. The free breakfast buffet is the best we have had at any hotel. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausage and pancakes. Cooked […] to order omlets were available for $2.99. Will definetly stay here again. Les mer

We were mislead and thought we were going to get the Sleep Number mattress. Instead we got a mattress that was as hard as a rock. We did not sleep well at all!! Apparently the Sleep number beds are in the King Bedrooms only... Also, the heater does not work if the outside temp is not below 50 degrees. It was like 53 degrees and my wife was cold in the […] room and there was nothing to do but be cold... We thought the "Radisson" would be a nice place, we were wrong. There is no nearby resturants either, it is in a very industrial unfriendly area to boot!! Les mer

It was a great experience for us all. The only inconvenience was that my husband landed at 10am and the hotel shuttle was nowhere in site. That was the only downfall..other than that it was a very nice stay. Will do it again.

We enjoyed our stay ove Easter weekend the only thing I could say that would have been nicer would have been if the breakfast was served a little later into the day as we were on vacation and did not want to get up and ready so early. This is an older hotel situated right next to the Airport. It is clean, the pool area is beautiful, and the two room suites are very spacious. Microwave, sink, refrigerator, cabinets, dining table chairs, sofa Bed, two televisions, free buffett breakfast. The price is the same as regular hotels that do not provide any of that so how can anyone complain? […] The manager was constantlly out at the pool area making sure we had everything we needed. The only complaint we had is the bed. If you like the sleep number bed than this hotel is for you. The on-site restuarant was very nice and accommodating us with our two year old.

We have stayed here for the past 3 years & have noticed that it is not being maintained properly. They usually have fresh fruit available in the lobby, but not this year. This stay, the maid did not clean our room one of the 3 days we were there. When I called the front desk about it, she said I must have had the do not disturb sign on. Really? The […] last time we stayed there, the tub & kitchen sink were clogged. They have a free hot breakfast which is usually good for being "free" but the offer omelettes (but you have to pay $3 for them). So not really free, although the regular scrambled eggs are? The elevator is old & slow and has not been fixed since we were there the first time. Why did we stay there again? We like the king size sleep number bed & having a good mattress is our top priority. We also like having a small bar sink & refrigerator & microwave in our room. Les mer

This is a very nice hotel. I had two issues. One was the water. The clerk actually told me not to drink it. One day it had a horrible sulfur or rotten egg smell. This is city water and probably not the hotels problem. The food was mediocre at best at the only restaurant. The guacamole was almost pureed and too whipped. Stayed in a suite which was OK. The bathroom sink was in a corner of the smallish bedroom. The sink area was not partitioned from the bed area.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, breakfast buffet was good not great. The bed was a comfortable sleep number bed however, we need not have a remote.

Hotel was quite beautiful. If you stay though, I would ask for a room on the left side of the hotel, there are a lot of early a.m. flights out of that airport, but no real noise other then the a.m. Room was nice, BUT they do need to replace those fridges ... they are not in very good working order. I had a child with me and it took all day to get it […] cold enough for his milk, and really I was not totally sure about it. I also agree with other posts as the TV channels, well, they sucked. If you have things to do though that would not be a problem. The pool on the other hand NEEDS cleaning, it seems as if the filter does not work. They could also use some fresh sofas in the rooms. This was our first stay. The lady at the counter can loosen up a little. Nice area. The male employees seemed friendlier, also in the dining area.

for the most part, we were pleased with our decision to stay at this hotel. the front desk employees were friendly and helpful. the room was nice, the bed was very comfortable! the pillows had probably seen their day and had lost their support. they weren't terrible though. the pool needed to be cleaned. it was a little cool that day so i wasn't bothered […] with that, but the next day, it still hadn't been cleaned. i thought that was a little strange, and the fact that the pool was mostly shaded gave me a negative feeling. the hot tub on the other hand was wonderful! i'd forgotten all about the pool once i found the hot tub! :) now for the breakfast. i think this hotel would get better reviews if they would give their customers a free breakfast. my husband, not knowing about having to pay for breakfast, had gone down to eat while i was still getting ready in the room. his experience: he goes down for breakfast, finds a soda machine (he drinks soda for breakfast) when an employee tells him that she can get his soda with his breakfast. he thinks, oh it must come with it. so he follows her. later after his runny scrambled eggs and burnt bacon, she comes to him with a slip of paper to sign. turns out they charged him (won't let me give specific rate here) probably double what we would have been charged at a restaurant. he was not happy. he came to the room to growl to me about it. later, we were downstairs preparing to leave to start our day, another customer was "being chased down" by an employee. she wanted him to sign the slip so he would also be charged. he said, forget it. i had oatmeal and coffee and i didn't even get a refill because you were too busy talking to your friend over there. he was not a happy camper either. my opinion: if you're going to charge for breakfast, at least have a separate room, like a dining room, instead of right across from the lobby. this hotel should rethink this practice. leaves a bad taste. otherwise the hotel was (for the most part) ni Les mer
