We hade wonderful service. loved the breakfast, nice dinner room, if would have booked room through hotel would have had discounts, but was worth it. pool perfect, and hot tub, loved the room. staff great, would stay again.

It was so nice to have a bedroom that could be totally separated from the living area by closing the door. Having two TVs was a big plus since there were 4 in our party. We liked having a sink in the bedroom. The breakfast was very good. I recommend this hotel.

We've chosen to take our little family trip here to Abilene each year for the last 4 years mainly due to this hotel. With it's suite set-up, great happy hour and lobby games, all-inclusive breakfast, and of course the indoor pool, we spend most of our time right there in the hotel. We were welcomed at check in with a smile and very caring attitude. We made one phone call to the front desk and again we were helped with that car- ing attitude. The double suite was exactly what we needed and we would not hesitate staying there again when we travel to Abilene. The hotel was nice. There were lots of people at the hotel on this particular weekend. The hot tub was not hot, but other than that, everything else was nice.

"Beautiful Spanish Inspired Hotel"
Appreciated the decor of this hotel. Rooms are around a central courtyard that looks like a Spanish square. This would be a great location for a wedding or other event.
This place is very nice. Across the street from the mall and 1 block from an Outback. Excellent room, king suite. Comp breakfast is outstanding ... cooks available to cook your eggs any way you want them.

"MGM Abiline"
This stay was a bad experience for us. When had a special need for a Handicap shower. They put us in a room for that purpose. The room was clean, beds comfortable, etc. But the shower was not safe. We let it run for about 5 to 10 min to stabilize the temperature before my wife got in. After another 5 min or so it immediately changed to Scalding HOT! […] which resulted in a scald on my wife's upper thigh. The management after trying to fix it gave us another room, interrupted dinner trying to do their reports etc. Other than offering an apology they did not do anything else to compensate for the injury! .. Just "sorry about that" and good night .... I would not ever return to this hotel with this sort of management and defective plumbing in place. It was was nice considering it's age, and overpriced considering the condition of the building as a whole. Needs updated, paint, etc. Overall it was clean, and we like the size of the rooms. "Love this hotel!"
For the price this hotel has it all. Full hot breakfast, free happy hour and the room was a real suite, meaning that the parents room was actually separated with a door from where the kids sleep. The room had glass french style doors with curtains of course and 2 flat screen TV's. One in the kids section or living area and the other in the master bedroom. […] The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, pool and fooseball. The fitness room has state of the art equipment. I wish we had stayed longer just to use all of it! The hotel also has its own restaurant and lounge. It was very impressive and the decor is impressive. The huge foyer and atrium are fabulous. Plus, it is right next to the mall and other great shopping! Les mer
"MCM Elegante in Abilene, Texas"
We have stayed several times and it is the only place we stay when in town. The suites are a nice size and having a suite gives you a separate place to watch TV, drink coffee or visit with friends. We enjoy having a living room area especially on an extended stay. The breakfast are great here and are so much more than the traditional "continental" […] breakfast that most hotels do now. The breakfast which is included has almost anything you can think of for breakfast and the staff is great. We recently stayed with our three grandchildren and they loved it as there was table tennis, shuffle board, pool and a game room. The indoor pool is great as it allows swimming year round and the heated spa is wonderful for the adults. We found this hotel to be a great value . Les mer
"Why a smoking room?"
I registered for a non-smoking room and when we arrived at ~9 PM all they had were smoking rooms available. I don't know if this was a problem with hotels.com or the Elegante but after calling ~four other hotels it was clear that a smokey, smelly, nauseating room was better than no room at all. The following day a non-smoking room was available and […] they were very accommodating to get us in another room. The hotel is an old Embassy Suites and they still try to hold on to the quality and service but as the years go I see it slipping. Again, the day time crew was great, the breakfast was as good as usual but we certainly struggled the first night with our kids and being tired, etc... we were not excited about the stench in the room. "Moving toward cheap"
The price hasn't gone down, but the quality has. The breakfast was mediocre at best and served on plastic plates. The breakfast glasses are plastic throw away as well and are no bigger than a bathroom cup to rinse your mouth. The room was still fine and clean. The beds are comfortable. Don't expect the quality you used to receive at this hotel.

The Hotel has frayed carpet, poor lighting. Can't beat the cooked to order complimentary breakfast, however.

"Excellent place to stay."
It is very like a nice Embassy Suite, which I understand it once was but like other MCM hotels I've stayed in, had even better mattresses, pillows, sheets, pillow cases and towels. Will certainly stay there again when I go to Abilene. I'd say it deserves at least a 4* rating or more

My father and I had been traveling through the us for over a month. This hotel was our last stop before heading back to Tyler, Texas. The added details of beverages, made to order breakfast, a call from the desk to make sure our accommodations were to our expectations all made this stay memorable. "Great guest service, but need improvement"
Our suite was a great size for a 5 day, 4 night stay with a 2 year old. The living area and bathroom were a little smaller that I had anticipated, but it was still a good size. The room was a little worn, and not perfectly clean. A blanket and sheet had a hole in it, and there were black marks on the white pillows. The throw pillows were worn out. The […] bathroom looked like housekeeping had missed a few spots. I know some of that stuff seems trivial, but for the price I paid, I expected more. The pool was great! It was warm, a good size. The workout room was small, but had nice equipment and clean. The breakfast was very good. It had a nice selection and my daughter loved it. It is located right across from the mall and is very close to many restaurants and shops. Overall, we had a good experience, and would probably stay there again. Les mer

It exceeded our expectations. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good. The only negative and a minor one at that, was the room temperature. It could have been a little cooler

Hotel is beautiful -- restaurant is excellent. Only thing not great was the air conditioning control didn't really seem to control our air -- We set it on 60 degrees and it was still too warm in the room.

This hotel is not the newest hotel in town, but it is the best! Great lobby, amazing breakfast (on the house!), rooms that are suite inspired with bars and flat screen tvs, indoor pool, lots of parking, near the mall, competitive rates....I could go on. We will never stay anywhere else!

"Good value"
Party of three, plenty of room. Great breakfast included. Only negatives - noisy neighbors and refrigerator did not work.
"Nice Hotel"
The Elegante has been one of the better hotels in Abilene for quite some time. That is still the case. With the full breakfast and cocktail hour the Elegante still offers some things that the newer hotels do not. However, the Elegante is starting to show it's age a little bit. Overall, there are no complaints though.

Room was very comfortable and roomy--great bed with lots of pillows. Cocktail hour was enjoyable by the fountain. Cooked to order breakfast was fantastic!! All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. We will stay here again when in the area.

Rooms are spacious and clean, two TVs, beautiful atrium area. Only complaint was, our room was across from the vending and ice machines and you could hear them throughout the room which was a bit disappointing given the grade of this hotel. Outside that it's a nice place.

We had my daughters 13th b-day party here. The staff was great and went way above and beyond to make the party a huge success. Everyone was so helpful and courteous...I'd have to give them two thumbs WAY UP!! Thanks, again!

Overall it was a nice hotel although not what I expected for the money. There where family reunions there and a lot of kids were running around.
