Dette hotellet overrasket oss, da vi skulle være der for noen netter. Det var rent, i et anstendig område, vi trodde at det skulle bråke fra veien, men hørte ingen ting på rommet, eneste var AC, men det får man ikke gjort noe med. De hadde kjøleskap og micro på rommet noe som gjorde det enkelt å lage mat om man hadde lyst på noe annet enn vanlig mat en dag. Det var kort vei til et kjøpesenter som var rett over veien. Det var kort vei til en outlet og det var i nærheten av mat som man kunne spise. Ellers så var det rent og servicen var god. Frokosten var som man forventer i USA, søt og noe "normalt". Har ikke noe å si på dette hotellet, parkeringen var også skygget fra annen trafikk slik at vi følte ikke noe ubehag ved å sette fra oss bilen.

The room was big. Had a lounge-area. The room was clean. Breakfast was coffee, juice and muffins. Not what europeans would call a continental breakfast. 15 min drive to downtown Portland. Nice place to stay on a tight budget.

Beautiful hotel. Great location. Amenities were great. Exercise room left a little to be desired and the room was pretty small. Otherwise great place. Good for a business trip but the room I was in would be tough for a couple.

The reason we decided to stay at the Heathman was due to its stellar reviews. We were pleased to discover that the hotel and its staff exceeded our already high expectations. It was a pleasure staying there, and we look forward to doing so again in the very near future.

"Gem in Portland"
The hotel is a gem...located in a very accessible area, sourounded by shops, malls and variety of restaurants and venues. The only negative is that we were only there for one night...we wish we had more time to stay longer. Great hotel.

Very nice hotel in a good, safe location. Nice restaurants within walking distance. Small, compact room but nicely decorated to give the illusion of being larger. Only complaint would be the rooms are not sound proof, we heard toilets flushing and doors opening all night long. Also, there was a strange sound possibly coming from the pipes? It sounded […] like a bull horn of a cruise ship? Overall, we had a good experience. Les mer

It's run like a fine European hotel right in Downtown Portland. I just love it in every way. The restaurant is wonderful and room service is the restaurant menu. It's just perfect.

Our stay was great.Only one problem:our room was supposed to be ready @3:00.it was not ready until 4:30.We had to hang in the lobby 1 1/2 hrs.We were comped with a drink while we waited for our room.We had dinner reservations there @ 5:00,then a show @6:30,not leaving us much time to shower and dress.

My husband and I went here for our 5 year anniversary. The service was exceptional, the room was very clean and comfortable. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. I would definitely return to this hotel again and recommend that anyone looking for a hotel in downtown portland, this is the place to stay!

Small but fully appointed rooms with major attention to detail. French press coffee, and a temperapedic mattress that was heavenly. Only suggestion for improvement would be providing king size pillows on the king size bed.

The Heathman Hotel is a well appointed but somewhat cramped hotel in a prime location in downtown Portland, Oregon. I liked everything about the hotel, except the size of the room, which was too small for the queen size bed and reading chair. Perhaps, for the single traveler, a double bed would have provided just as much sleeping comfort without the […] feeling that one had to dodge furniture just to move around in the room. The bathroom is what you might call a water closet. There isn't much that can be done to enlarge this small space and the Heathman uses mirrors and lighting effectively to create the illusion of space--but watch your elbows and toes. Les mer

Love this hotel. However,we will probably not stay again ,due to the claustrophobically small bathrooms and the room was so hot and stuffy(even in the winter). The restaurant and bar are very good,though. The hotel itself has a very nice ambiance. its just not a very good value with regard to the small stuffy bedrooms.

Nice hotel, good service. Bar closes early and bathrooms are REALLY small. Beds are super comfy and the location is good for shopping and getting around to all Portlandia has to offer.

The Heathman....wonderful service, intimate, a total pleasure. Every detail thought of, even coffee/tea presentation in the room with blue Fiesta wear and tiny silver spoons. Terrific food in Library, always pleasant to sit downstairs, eat a lovely dinner, glass of local wine after a long flight in. thank you! Cannot wait to come back.

The Heathman is a great place to stay as it is in heart of downtown Portland. There is excellent access to the trolley, light rail, and the bus. It is also easy to walk almost anywhere you want to go. Since it is an older hotel the rooms are smaller but they are wonderful and very comfortable beds. "Heathman Hotel - comvenient, clean and comfortable"
We stayed there for the weekend to explore downtown Portland. This hotel is right near great a restaurant (South Park Wine Bar!) and near free public transportation to another fabulous restaurant (Andina). We spent the day shopping for holiday gifts at pop-up stores and the Saturday market. Although they are also nearby, we never entered a chain store […] the entire weekend! You may be lucky enough to meet Conley, the concierge/front desk person (lobby employees serve both roles) who is enthusiastic and knowledgable about the area. Our room and bathroom were on the small side, but we were just there to sleep, so who cares. It was impeccably clean with the best bed ever! Free WiFi throughout the hotel and a great breakfast at their restaurant. No complaints about any aspect of this hotel. We will return! Les mer
"One night at the Heathman"
The Heathman is pricey. The queen deluxe room was well-appointed but quite small. The bathroom was claustrophobic. The normal sized bathtub took up 50% of the square footage. I would have been uncomfortable if I'd spent more than one night there.

"Portland Heathman -- what's not to like?"
My wife and I were more than happy on all counts with our stay at the Heathman. It's within walking distance of practically everything in downtown Portland (OR) as well, so the location couldn't be more perfect. For my wife in particular, the Heathman has that "something extra" that sets it apart from other Portland hotels.

I loved this hotel! The doormen treat you like royalty. The reception staff (especially Mike and Dante) were some of the friendliest, most helpful people you could ever imagine - they even went out of their way to find some fun nightlife spots for me. Portland is a fun, ecclectic city and my stay was made 100 times more fun by their graciousness and […] efficiency. That being said, I debated on whether or not to put this next section in my review and finally decided to do so, only b/c I sincerely believe it would help the restaurant in the long run. I ordered room service one night - a meal consisting of a crab cake appetizer and scallop dish. While the bread and cheese was delicious, the crab cake tasted absolutely nothing like crab, not even a remote hint of a piece of crab. It seemed like all filler or an entirely different dish, altogether. The taste wasn't even one of seafood. Upon notifying Service, I was informed that the kitchen had recently changed their recipe. I wasn't charged for the dish. Well, after biting into the scallop (yes, the dish was 1 scallop for about $4.25), there was a strong odor & taste of ammonia, a glaring indication that it was spoiled. I again notified service, but told the rep not to worry about taking it off the bill. The stay was excellent, I just suggest that the restaurant taste the food b4 sendinging it out. Les mer

I stayed in this hotel almost 5 times, 3 to 5 nights per time. I also stayed at The Nines, Marriot, Phoneix and Home stead in Oregan and I can say I love this hotel the most, u feel like home as staff treating you very friendly but professional. Owned by a British company, the Heathman is everything I expected & even more. The door personnel memorize your name; the desk people welcome you back; the elevator is efficient. Highlights of the hotel include: wonderful works by famous artists found throughout the hotel; a library by signed works of famous writers of our time; and a splendid restaurant. No. I was on a business trip and want to bring my wife to experience the Spa and comforts of their rooms, some may think are small, but that's the way I like it! Charming! I loved my stay! The concierges gave great advice on things to do, how to get there, and were helpful with alternatives when Plan A fell through. The Library is a cool story. Loved the restaurant. The salads—apple & pear, beet & blue cheese. Huckleberry smoked ribs, pork belly and peach, pumpkin tarte and the tomato soup with petite grilled cheese. […] I wanted to try more, but I had to leave for home. Cacao is tucked into a corner next to the entrance. It's a gem. Shots of hot chocolates with selections from a variety of chocolatiers. Ask for the ones by local shops. The hotel is around the corner from a weekday Farmer's Market (though now closed for the season) and the Portland Art Museum. It's an easy walk to the Pearl District or the River and up to the Saturday Market. I took a bike tour with Pedals and walked to the shop. Easily accessible by the MAX from the airport. And, the street car to reach NorthWest Portland. Can you tell I loved my stay? Les mer

"Heathman- elegant, refined, superb"
I can't say enough about this hotel. Feels more like home in an odd way, except better living than with which I was raised. You will not be disappointed in any facet. I have stayed at the Nines and Hotel Fifty, both nearby and both excellent, but the Heathman had a comfortable sophistication without being stuffy.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Heathman. From check-in to check-out we had no complaints at all. The staff is there to serve their guests and do all they can to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. We will definetly be back and will recommend the hotel to all our friends and family.

Superb service, excellent and reasonably priced food. Dinner in the fireplace room is very relaxing. Library on mezzanine a nice touch. Perfect location to walk to many Portland attractions. Definitely would stay again. Beds are excellent. Room just a touch small but very well fitted.
