Stay near before a major event at the N.E.C, the hotel was very busy and a bit noisy but we did get a good night sleep. As this is an airport hotel you can here the planes in the distance. breakfast was included in are stay which was very good. all in all a good stay

What a great hotel; break up your travel plans and relax at a Holiday Inn - Very spacious reception/bar; Very comfortable rooms; Great leisure facilities-not amazing but enough for a workout/swim and to top it all off start your day with a fantastic choice for breakfast. The hotel that hits the spot !!!

Having been forced by bad weather to book a overnight hotel before my flight I choose the holiday inn for its convenient location. Upon arrival the car park was pretty busy and the heavy snow meant others must have had the same decision as me. The reception staff were very courteous and friendly and check in was nice and prompt, I enquries about room […] service and was told it was 24 hours but nothing more. My room was very nice, with a sumptuously soft bed and all very clean and tidy. I ordered room service which was prompt but was disappointed with the cheese and pickle sandwich and a small handful at £9.99 oh and the sneaky £3 tray charge! Asked for an early morning wake up call which did come through, so checked out at 5am but dispite this time staff were still nice and friendly but it did annoy me that there was an £8.50 car parking charge for the night! Overall for what I needed it was great mainly because of its location, however I felt that they were more interested in making money at every opportunity! Les mer

good location, onsite parking and rooms. great buffet breakfast. Some issue with background noise from extract fan from room above through the night in another room which family stayed at, however ours was peacefull.

We had a one night stay here when seeing X Factor Live at the LG Arena. Perfect location and they offer a 24 hour shuttle bus to and from the Arena and if not available they would have paid for a cab for us. They charge for parking - which is annoying. Free Wi-Fi in bar lounge. Excellent internet on LAN connection in room. Good bar - but expensive. Not too far from some cracking restaurants. My bedroom window insulation was shot - so loads of road noise / cold air coming in - was moved and upgraded.

Reasonable size bedrooms. Excellent bathrooms. Nice bar - but slightly expensive food and Room Service. Fantastic leisure facilities. Very good value breakfast buffet. Some of the foreign staff are difficult to communicate with - leading to a reduction in service. Expensive internet but very fast in your room. There is complementary Wi-Fi in the bar […] lounge. I always find paying for car parking in a hotel very annoying - but seems to be the modern trend. The hotel is near to the original terminal and control tower and an eyesore of various cargo facilities. The new ATC looks pretty impressive. Had tickets for a concert at the NEC. This was a low cost option to stay overnight and with the shuttle bus that takes you to the NEC it is perfect.

The only good thing that I can say about this hotel is the complimentary shuttle to and from the airport and its drivers. They were very helpful and very accomodating. The front desk staff were horrible. When we checked in, I was asked if I wanted to leave a credit card for the mini-bar so I said, sure, why not. Got to the room, there was a fridge BUT […] NO MINI-BAR. So, what's the point asking for my credit card then? Room was very very cold and they had this tiny heater to heat up the room. We asked for an extra blanket, and they gave us a throw as an extra blanket. Our luggage was lost so I was very worried about it so I called the front desk at around 0930 in the morning the next day. It took me three times calling when somebody finally picked up and she was so rude that I felt like I was inconveniencing her for calling the front desk. If it wasn't for the pleasant drivers and the wait staff in the bar when we had dinner there, I would give this hotel a very poor rating. Les mer

I am normally not one to complain or write reviews, but this experience was very disappointing for a couple key reasons. 1) There was a loud party in the hotel that night. The bass was shaking some of the items on my wall. That and the music kept me up. I called reception and they said it would end at 12am. It did not end until 1am. I to wake up for […] my flight at 6 am 2) I mentioned this issue to the reception in the morning and they said a manager would contact me. They never did. 3) I found it very hard to find the hotel shuttle. You have to take a tram to the nearby train station, but even then there is no sign (or at least I could not find one) as to where to get the shuttle. Les mer

When i arrived at 1800 on saturday there was a very long q at check in but the q soon went down . My room was on a lower floor and looked very nice , but on a closer look i found human hair on top of the bed checked under the covers and looked fine. Staying at this hotel was the worst hotel experience I have had. A 20 minute wait in the queue at reception while 1 girl dealt with other guests checking in and another staff member also stood there not assisting, I was told that they could not fulfil my request for a twin room. I was not offered any alternative and my brother now had to sleep on the […] floor. I expressed my disappointment that the hotel did not contact me in advance to tell me this. I was allocated a room down a stairs from the reception. As I was descending into this dungeon like area (very old building) I was smacked in the face by a smell of sewerage and dampness. Hall & room freezing, decor dated, plug-in heater in room with 1 of its 3 wheels missing, large stain on chair in front of desk and chair and carpet felt damp. The smell of dampness etc was overwhelming. I went back to reception to complain. The receptionist did not respond verbally to my complaint, she looked at me, started tapping on her computer, and offered me another room, no apology - 2nd floor, slightly warmer, not as smelly, decor dated, very small. I requested extra bedding for my brother for the floor, this was provided. (Although I checked online & there were plenty of rooms in the hotel available to book, it was now around 9:30pm & I thought the least the hotel could have done was offered an additional room since they could not provide what I had requested when I booked.) Pool etc is great and what to expect from a 4* hotel. Shame the room wasn't 4*! Bed was small - I'm 5ft 7in and my feet dangled off the double bed! It was also notably an old old bed due to how bouncy it was. Room was freezing and were provided with a small portable radiator. TV has all of 7 channels and is an old style TV. We stayed here for buisness as we were exhibiting at the NEC. The hotel is loveley could do with wifi in the rooms but it is avaialble in the lobby. Staff were friendly but some times there didnt seem to be enough especially in the restaurant on an evenin.Overall good and we will be staying again.

Phones in the room didn't work. Internet didn't reliably work. Room was clean/nice but hallways looked and smelled awful. I won't return to this hotel.

This hotel is about the same level of quality that you would expect from a roadside, highway hotel with. The noise level was unbelievable. I woke up every other hour, as the doors were not at all soundproof. There were holes and cracks all over my room. The front desk staff who checked us in was very unfriendly and unhelpful. We were first put in the lower ground floor, mushroom rooms, I call them that as they were a place you'd only grow mushrooms & not want to sleep, dark, very damp and foisty. We arranged a move (I reckon they were expecting a complaint). Next we were on floor 1. This was still in the old block and although did not smell, or have damp creeping in our […] lungs, we soon found that it was very warm and the windows did not open. In fact, there was evidence of an old doorway that had been sealed up by way of a uPVC solid door shape. (may have been a fire escape or balcony at one point). We did put the air-con on but it just re-circulated the warmish air, with a loud noise. At this time of night we couldn't be bothered to move rooms again so just pretended we were stopping in a cheap apartment in Greece to get some of the holiday vibe. We we're stopping as part of a working trip, so work the next day was a drag! On a positive, the breakfast was great, and the new block, which we passed through, did seem very nice. Almost forgot; car parking is extra but we weren't informed at booking, so turned up, parked and we're told another £££ for parking. If we had known in advance we could have looked elsewhere with parking included. Summary; Check what rooms you are in when booking, don't accept lower ground floor or rooms with no opening windows. I was surprised to find this hotel in such a great state of repair. The room was modernised, with flat TV, neutral decor and all new bathroom. It was spotless and comfy. The added bonus is a swimming pool. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. A very enjoyable stay.

The double bed was too small for a normal sized couple and the mattress was too soft. The CRT television was faulty and did not even have Freeview channels. Parking was an unexpected extra at £7.50 per day.

This is a genrally good quality Holiday Inn portraying the expected brand features. The stay was let down by some poor attention to detail which could be addressed by the management team - in particular (a) only just after the pool and gym opened fr the day both of the shower body/hair wash bottles were empty, and (b) breakfast restaurant service was […] somewhat slow in anticipating customer needs/making good friendly eye contact, and most of the items on the buffet were at best luke warm This would not completely put me off wanting to stay again - but is something which could be readily addressed Les mer

Even though we had booked a double we had expected there to be a settee for a child to sleep. As they knew a child of 4 was in the Party. So I slept on the floor. The Pool was fabulous I have to say Grandaughter spent a good hour in there and tried the zacuzzi for the first time. Evening meal dissapointing again sadly Gammon overcooked no veg with Sausages […] and only 4 Nuggets for the childs meal. Bar drinks very very expensive & dont ask about the Mini Bar in Room £2.95 fo 50cl water the same for 33cl 7up Pepsi Orange Juice £6.95 for 5cl Whiskey/Cognac/Gin/Vodka/Rum have heard of making a profit but not that much. No ATM. Breakfast was about the only thing that was good about the place with plenty of Choice and a very attentive waitress who was the first person who actually paid us any attention . Even talking to the Granddaughter Cheff even offered seconds if wanted. Twice we asked for a toothbrush as we forgot Granddaughters never arrived. The inside of the Hotel was ok but outside very dated and dirty the grounds where unkept. Had to go to Travel Lodge to use ATM so had a better view of outside. Would recommend Hotel but not evening meal or Bars. Air con not up to much swealtered all night. Even though it was on full. Les mer

I needed a convenient place to stay near to my relatives and this hotel was perfect in location and I would also use it for an airport stay if I needed one as well as they have a shuttle and it is only 5 minutes away. I have stayed here twice and would definately stay again. I would not consider it to be a luxury hotel but it covered everything I needed. […] Room was very clean and serviced well daily.Bed was really comfortable. Basic TV(not flat screen) but that didnt bother me. Kettle, tea coffee and mini bar. Plus inroom dining as needed. I got a great rate with a nice breakfast buffet included. There is a comfortable bar area and large TV to watch so plenty of options. Also decent gymn/pool and hottub.I must say it does have the feel of a luxury hotel and I thought a bargain:) Les mer
