The Kensington Close Hotel & Health Spa - London 51.4997, -0.1928

Har vært i London mange ganger, men aldri bodd i området dette hotellet ligger. Kommer helt sikkert til å bo her flere ganger. Kjempesentralt hotell, få minutters gange fra undergrunnen. Like ved hotellet ligger det også en handlegate og en park det er verdt å ta turen til. Personalet på hotellet var høflige og hjelpsomme. Det stod hele tiden flere ansatte i døren, som hilste når vi kom og gikk. Da vi kom, ble vi oppgradert, fra standard dobbeltrom til Executive Rooms. Rommet var rent og pent. Badet bar noe preg av at det begynner å bli gammelt, men det var stort og fint. Pluss for at det var en stor safe på rommet, vi hadde med pc og lignende, kjekt å få låst den inn. Resepsjonen var til tider veldig folksom, da det til tider kom fulle busser med turister. Da vi skulle reise hjem, var personalet hjelpsomme med både å finne taxi og å bære kofferten vår. Det eneste negative vi opplevde, var at de ikke tok telefonen når vi ringte room service for å bestille middag. Det gjorde at vi måtte ut av hotellet for å finne middag.

Fint hotel like ved Kensington High Street. Service kvaliteten var bra med hyggelig personale. Likte baren og restaurangen også. Jeg er 1,90 høy så senga var litt i korteste laget, men ellers veldig fornøyd og tar gjerne en tur hitt en annen gang.

Worst bed I have slept in for the last 20 years. Even worse than the spare bed at charter hotels in Spain. Best features of hotel: * They label your luggage they keep after checking out of the hotel, but before leaving. * The swimwear dryer at the wardrobe. * Nice Location Worst features: * Terrible beds. The beds consist of matrasses put on top of solid wooden base, equivalent to putting matrasses directly on the floor. * Sigarette smoke pulled into the bedroom by air condition (we woke up by intense sigarette smell, 0615 a sunday morning). * Staff polite, but does not take complaints seriously. * Staff on duty does not have authority to make decissions. * Staff does register complaints, but does not bring the messages on to personell in charge. * Terrible matresses were reported in the reception at apporx 1100, the problem was not solved when we arrived at the hotel in the evening at 2000, but a manager called us after we had gone to bed at approx 2300. * Bath room was not cleaned properly - yellow stains under the toilet when we checked in. In addition there was blood in the toilette. * We woke up by noises from the street outside the reception. A bus was parked outside the hotel, but kept hte engine running. Annoiying even on the third floor. * No clear signs (directions) for the pool. * Extra charge for using the pool, but no information about the extra carge. * Misinformation from the receptionist about opening hours of the pool.

Hotellet er stort, men enkeltrommene er knøttsmå og ikke billige. Beliggenheten er god, men unngå dette hotellet hvis du reiser alene.

De kunne godt gjort noe med frokostsalen sin. Du lukter av stekt mat når du har spist frokost, og må skifte før du går ut......

nice hotel, good value for the money. room was quite small but adequate. close to public transportation. quiet location.

As an ex-resident of Kensington I knew the Kensington Close and selected it intentionally as was most convenient for my trip to London. Everything about the hotel was as I remembered it, except that now they have divided the original rooms into two. Although comfortable, the size is not recommended to claustrophobics (which I am not). If you are looking for a decent place at a decent price in a prime location, then by all means put up with the size of the tiny room and the dingy baathroom.

Had to ask to be moved from a smelly room (had been painted and fumes were still very strong). Next room had a door between my room and the next rooms toilet which meant I heard things I didn't want to hear.

This hotel definitely need a refurbish. Door lock is broken and does not close unless you really push it hard. Don't presume it is safe here. I heard another hotel guest complaining at the reception about her jacket was stolen from her room..............

very disappointed with standard of our room as the review said it was 4 star but i have stayed in better travelodges. This trip was atreat for my fathers 70th birthday and it was ruined as we planned to use health spa and was told have to pay extra £8 each! Terrible experience.

the hotel location is excellent near a lot of shops and coffee places and with reasonable prices. it is also quite and near the high Kensington tube station. I had an enjoyabl e stay.

fairly good hotel, though a bit pricy for what you get. Hotels.com got me the room half price. which is about what i'd wanna pay. the rooms are a bit small but clean and there is nothing at all wrong with them. I will be staying there again due to it's location.

The Kensington Close Hotel and Staff are friendly and nothing can beat the hotel's location. However, the charge for the internet in the rooms when most hotels in London offer the internet for free. Their solution, four pay by the minute computers in the lobby, is embarrassing. The quality and size of the rooms is poor, even my London standards. This hotel might rate three stars. Nothing more.

Stayed here for one night. Chose this hotel because it's close to the high st and lots of restaurant choice. The room was nicely furnished but very small for a double. There was no room to walk round the bed and the door to the bathroom was a sliding door due to lack of space. It was however very quiet and clean. Overall pretty good for the price in central London and completely ok for a short stay.

My husband and I selected The Kensington Close for a short weekend getaway to London. The hotel definately met our expectations. The location is exceptional - very near the High Street Kensington Tube station. There are great restaurants nearby, as well as a Whole Foods market. As is typical in London, the room & bathroom were small, but very clean. The beds were comfortable. We would stay there again.

This hotel is an incredible location to Notting Hill and Mayfair locations. If you want to sight see with incredible ease, this is your hotel. However, please be advised that you may not be that impressed with the cleanliness of the room and especially the bathroom. My bathroom was incredibly small for a major city and the fixtures were antiquated and that is not in a quaint way! The bathroom door did not work and there was mold. If you are not bothered by bathroom convenience, than I would recommned this hotel for location, price and very friendly staff. Fantastic shopping and restaurants right outside your dooor!

Stayed in a single room. Small but comfortable and very clean. Staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. Handy for the tube. Far better alternative than other budget chains in London.

Big hotel with pool. Convenient location

My son and I were in London for a holiday and had six very pleasant days and nights at the KCH. Our room was well suited to our needs, with plenty of space for gear, and comfortable beds. The bathroom was kept spotless, shiny and well stocked. The location is most convenient, with a variety of shops and restaurants and excellent Tube service. Everyone we met at the KCH was pleasant, informed, and helpful. A real pleasure. We were booked through a US agency, knew nothing beyond their recommendation, and found KCH to be a very satifactory accomodation.

The hotel is very conveniently located just around the corner from Kensington High Street Tube station, and not bad value for money. However, I thought the room was 'jaded' and the service for a snack meal in the evening at their Lion Sports Bar left a lot to be desired.

nice hotel in a great location. really close to the underground and shops on high st kensington. room rate was great for the area. pool was a bit disappointing and drinks in the hotel bar were very expensive- £13 for two drinks including a £1.50 service chven though we got the drinks at the bar.

I hated this hotel. I booked it for my boyfriends birthday as we were going to the Albert Hall that night. The standard double room was so small. The bed was pushed up against the window, and you could only get in from one side. I could hear everything the person next door was up to, including their shower at half 6 in the morning ( i thought it was my boyfriend, and had to check he was still there), then them being sick an hour later. Check out is at 11am, but we were woken up at 8.45 by the house keeper letting herself in to clean the room. The room had a marked mirror and a dirty desk. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Horrible stay. Wish I hadn;t bothered.

Great location, great price. Extremely small room, but typical for London. Clean and convenient. Had to pay extra for WiFi.

Hotel room was OK, small and dated, but fairly clean and location superb. There was however a lot of disturbance in the evening and early night. Seems to be a popular Hotel for young people going out in London. Overall: acceptable for the price you pay.

It was good for the price room was pretty small room and staff was nice there was a fire alarm false at 3am so we lost sleep not very efficent evacuation

My wife and I have used this hotel over many years for short business and leisure visits. It's location is ideal for Kensington High St., tube station and all the SW attractions. ALbert Hall and Hyde Park are an easy walking distance. OK the standard rooms are a bit small but fine for a short stay. Breakfast is OK, and there are many restuarants nearby for dinner. There is a superb pool with steam room and saunas at £5 a time.

This hotel is located close to High Street Kensington tube and certainly within walking distance. It is wise to book breakfast at the same time as the room as the rates appear significantly cheaper and well worth while. Excellent b'fast variety.

We got up graded to an executive suite, well I would hate to see what a normal room looks like if ours was a executive. It was very very basic, there was nothing extra to make it better. You have to pay to use to the pool which should be made clear when booking a room! So when asking if it has pool facilities they should say no!

Not a bad hotel for the money. It was clean and tidy, although the rooms were a little on the small size. Certainly more than adequate for a week-end break. The hotel was in a good location and was only a 2 mintue walk from the tube station. I would certainly chose this hotel again. The only criticism I would make about the hotel was the price of the drinks. £5 for a shot of Brandy, is a typical price you will have to pay.

This was a fantastic hotel and I couldn't fault it. The staff were friendly, it was immaculate and very clean. A lovely hotel and will definitely be returning.

Having read reports about the rooms being small and unclean, I wasn't sure I booked the right hotel. However, for the price I paid the room was more than adequate and the hotel had a good bar area too. I would use this hotel again for short visits.

The hotel was great. Room (twin) was larger than I'd expected. The location was the best part - it's only a short walk, equivalent to about 2 blocks, to Kensington High Street (tons of shopping & restaurants) and the tube station. Hotel Concierge was helpful in getting to tour bus station & with flat-rate taxi to Heathrow. Neighbourhood really safe.

I picked this hotel because of location in heart of Kensington and what appeared to be a great pool/spa. The price seemed reasonable for central London. It more than met my expectations. Room was fairly basic but very clean. Pool was excellent but an extra 5 pounds/day to use. EXCELLENT concierge seamlessly arranged theatre tickets, transportation. Great location just around corner from Kensington-High Street tube stop, very friendly and efficient staff, great pool, I'd short list it for my next London stop.

I attended a Conference in the Kensington Town Hall. The Hotel was so closed to the venue. It was also accessible to the Underground. The Staff were friendly. I will certainly stay in this Hotel again.

Spa and Hotel very good, staff very friendly. Brilliant shopping and very close to parks. Would definatly stay at the Hotel again.

We were impressed with the hotel facilities and location but very disapointed with the room. It was very small with no heating on the coldest night of the year! We were given extra blankets but still freezing and after complaining again we got a portable heater. I did not like the look of the dirty showerhead so had to have a bath. We thought £2 for a bag of crisps was a bit steep but the bar and breakfast was good.

This hotel is two minutes from the tube and Kensington high street, plenty of shops and places to eat, Tesco and Mc Donalds at top of street, hotel staff were great ,room was small but clean and modern, will be going back next trip to London.

Just watch when you book a room that you dont end up in a small room like me. You could not get to the other side of the bed and window around the end of the bed. I needed to clamber over the end of one bed to get to the other side of the room.

Very good value, simple, pleasant design, very clean, quiet and very convenient. Would stay again. Beds, sheets and pillows could be softer, but they're fine. Slept like a baby!

This is a very shabby place at the moment but I think a refurb is underway. Disappointed that the SPA wasn't included in the price quoted. Didn't have breakfast much cheaper to go a local cafe. Had to change rooms as the first one allocated stank of cigarette smoke despite being non-smoking.

nice staff, not too far from the tube but a little pricing for an average hotel room. everything was clean but a little stirile from the smell of cleaning products. bed was a little cold after window had been left open. nice food in the bar pool and sauna were nice
