"Heilt supert hotell!"Anmeldt av Anne av "London" den feb 11, 2012
Viss du vil relativt billig (billig nok for et studentpar), bu med høg standard,og tre minutters gåavstand fra alle shoppingmuligheter og buss-undergroundstasjon, så vil eg absolutt anbefale å bu på K-West. Meg og min sambuar budde på executive rom i 2. etg med vinduer ut mot eit lite grøntområde og rekkehus. Rommet levde absolutt opp til (om ikkje over) forventningane! Reint fint rom, og flott bad med badekar. God plass i skap/hyller og en nyttig liten safe plassert i skapet og der er kjøleskap. Rommet har air condition som du stiller varmt/kaldt sjølv. Det einaste negative eg vil seie er at vi hadde litt problem med å få det kaldt på rommet (i februar) og vi har en mistanke om at kopper/glass og t-skjeier bare blir skylt for så å bli plassert på hylla igjen, altså at dei ikkje bytter ut med reine glass når dei rydda rommet. I resepsjonen er dei imøtekommande og hjelpsomme. Dei hjelper til med å booke billetter for deg, uansett om det er til taxi, guidet busstur eller museum som f-eks Madame Tussaud. Hotellet ligg like ved europas største sentrumsshoppingsenter Westfield. Her har du alle butikkane du treng. Eine delen av senteret heiter: "The Village" og inneheld alt du ikkje har råd til: Gucci, Prada, Versace, Miu Miu, Chanel and the list goes on. Men det er gøy å kikke likevel. Planlegger du å shoppe her bør du gå til concierge-disken og vise nøkkelkortet ditt fra hotellet; da får du et VIP-pass og ei liste over butikker (og merker) kor du får opptil 15/20 % rabatt, dette viser du i kassa når du handler. (Hugs også å få tax free kvittering på alt du handler sånn at du får igjen masse penger på flyplassen når du reiser heim). Skal du ut å ete er ikkje området akkurat rundt hotellet å foretrekke og der er ikkje mange kafear eller restaurantar heller. Restaurantane og kafeane på "the balcony" på Westfield er derimot kjempegode. Shepherds Bush heiter buss- tube stasjonen rett ved Westfield, altså max 4 min gåavstand fra hotellet, med forbindelser til heile byen.

Super comfort og veldig trivelig. 3 min til tuben, stasjon London Bridge, puber og restauranter. Likevel ikke midt i smørøyet med tanke på shopping og severdigheter, men tuben redder det. God frokost, veldig ivrig personale. Litt lite folk i bar og restaurant på kveldstid men da går du kanskje til puben?

Dette hotellet, The Waldorf Hilton, er forretningsvennlig og ligger i hjertet av London, med gåavstand til London Transport Museum, Royal Courts of Justice - Law Courts og Covent Garden. Ikke langt unna finner du også Leicester Square og Trafalgar Square.

Homage Grand Salon Restaurant - Located in the original 1908 Grill Room, its Grade II listed features are characteristic of the Louis XVI style. The restaurant has 95 seats with a feature bar and walk-in wine cabinet. The new design blends the existing fabric with contemporary elements. The restaurant serves classical dishes as well as some more contemporary favourites, a grill selection and daily regional European specials. The wine list is European.
Homage Patisserie - Serves morning coffee and afternoon tea. The entrance to the patisserie is from the hotel lobby and has a unique, pressed metal finish. Inside the room features the original restored Waring and Gillow panelling. Amongst the rich fabrics and period furniture the focal point is a 'jewel box' counter, displaying fine pastries by day and serving champagne cocktails by night. The patisserie features single estate teas, viennoiseries, fine coffee and freshly squeezed juices, a selection of afternoon tea pastries and a champagne list including the Pommery Collection.
Homage Cocktail Bar - Originally the Hansom Cab and Grill, the Opera Bar and the Gaslight Bar. Wall coverings feature contemporary fabrics, and detailed metal panels provide a contrasting backdrop to period pieces set alongside the B&B Italia Vol-au-Vent chair and a rich, smoked oak timber floor. University of London og British Museum gir Bloomsbury et akademisk preg. I Charlotte Street er det mange gode restauranter, mens Tottenham Court Road har elektronikkbutikker for alle budsjetter og gir kontakt med de 300 butikkene på travle Oxford Street. "Waldorf Hilton - midt i sentrum"
Veldig bra beliggenhet, god frokost og stille rom. Rommene utmerker seg imidlertid ikke på noen måte. Dårlig vanntrykk og slitent utstyr,

Gangavstand fra Covent Garden, praktisk hvis man kommer fra Heathrow. Rommene daterte, fellesområder erverdige. God frokost.

"Perfekt beliggenhet for våre behov"
Hotellet gjorde jobben, men holder ikke 5-stjerners standard. Trekker ned for slitt interiør og betaling for trådløst internett. Frokosten var enkel, men god.

Hotellet har sentral beliggenhet nær sjarmerende Covent garden, The Strand og Waterloo Bridge med gåavstand også til Soho og handlegatene rundt Oxford Street. Selv om det ikke er frokost inkludert i prisen, er det lett å finne seg gode og rimelige spisested i nærheten.
"Nær Coventgarden"
Hotellet er ok, men ikke noe 5 stjerners. Heisen er ny, ellers trenger gangene en kraftig oppgradering. Teppet var ikke pent, slitt. Rommet var ok, stor og med alt man trenger. Frokosten derimot var dårlig, måtte være tidlig ute, og de var meget trege med fylle på, eller ikke i det hele tatt. Alt i alt et ok hotel, fikk oppholdet til en meget bra pris, […] hadde jeg betalt full pris hadde jeg følt meg lurt. Bor der neste gang jeg skal til London, hvis jeg får samme tilbud. Les mer
"Store forskjeller på rommene."
Var på årlig tur med masse venner, hadde booket 4 rom på Waldorf. 3 av rommene var ok størrelse på. Det jeg endte opp på var en skandale, rommet hadde en sålkallt åpen badeløsning. Rommet var så lite at man kunne vaske hendene sine mens man satt i sengen. Det eneste som skilte toalettet fra resten av rommet var en matt glassvegg, dermed var det ikke […] mye privatliv å få. Det var veldig kostabert i forhold til hva man får, jeg vil nok aldri bo der igjen. PS: Hold dere unna rom 128 Les mer

Hotellet er nok ikke helt på 5 * standart, frokost ok men heller ikke topp! Greie rom men ikke noe spesiellt som sagt 4* her. Renhold på badet var dårlig. Det finns mange bedre alternativer i London dersom man ønsker å bo på 5 stjerne.....

Veldig fornøyd med hotellet, fine rom, fantastisk god frukost. God beliggenhet. og god service.

Med stor forventning annkom vi hotellet, og de fleste ting sto i stil med den. Rommet var romslig, rent og med stor god seng. Hadde oppgradert til de-lux rom. Det eneste som manglet var nok stoler. Med ett dobbeltrom på 35kvm forventet vi at det minst burde være en godstol til hver, ikke at en må sitte på/ligge i sengen. Service og frokost var av ypperste […] kvalitet. Anbefales! Les mer

Lovely stay at the Waldorf. Staff all very freindly and helpful. Not happy about excessive service charge on drinks but then thats the West End. Breakfast room beautiful surroundings but ice cold so hard to enjoy the generous breakfast

"Superb, faultless 5* stay"
Gift to mother in law - Fantastic experience started with a superb room upgrade. Stayed here & went to the theatre to see War Horse (also excellent). We were also fortunate to buy a Groupon voucher to dine in the restaurant at reduced rate and included champagne. Faultless 10 out of 10.

"10 years and it's still not right"
I have stayed at this hotel many times under many different marquees / brands. I don't think I have ever stayed there without construction or some other type of disruption going on. 10 years running! The best thing about it is the gym in the lower ground level. And the location is very good - close to covent garden tube and almost equidistant from Holburn. […] Food is also quite mediocre. If you have another option, use it unless you are so committed to a good gym workout that you are willing to put up with other problems that distract from a good stay. Les mer
"Bad service"
When checking in, the receptionist was quite rude. when I walked in to the room and opened the curtain, I found a wall inches from the window. When I called the front desk to ask if there were any other rooms available, I was told someone would call me back. I waited over 10 minutes with no response so I went up to the front and upon hearing my name, […] the lady knew right away that I was waiting for someone to call me, yet there she was chatting with a co-worker. Also, I didn't need my room cleaned so I called housekeeping to please just refresh the towels, no one came. I waited until morning and had to make another request. I do expect superior service when staying at a hotel that charges what the Waldorf does, but I was very disappointed to have gotten such poor service. I did get another room with a much better view, but since it was low season with not many rooms occupied, I don't understand why they would give me what seemed like the worst room in the hotel. "Staying with history"
When i chose to stay at Waldorf Hilton, it was with an awareness of the history associated with the hotel bordering on 'reverence' that i decided to opt for it. To stay at The Waldorf was indeed being with history. The building, the facade....reminds one of the histrocity of the hotel. "This hotel did not live up to expectations"
London is not far from home however when we come to see a show we like to enjoy good hotel rooms. We only stayed one night here, the room was disappointing. On being welcomed at the restaurant for breakfast we were then ignored. While collecting our buffet breakfast we returned to our table to find the long awaited for drinks and our cutlery being […] cleared away They did apologise but breakfast was cooled by the time the new cutlery arrived and we aquired someone else's cleared teapot as well as ours. When you think of the Waldorf you think of old world charm and sofistication. When you walk in the front door everything gives this impression. Afternoon tea and dinner in the restaurant were a pleasure. The breakfast room was beautful. We were however very disappointed with our room and this was after paying for an upgrade on arrival. Here the charm […] stops, the room was very modern with orange paint and silver grey drapes and was not a place in which I would choose to relax. A tangle of wires with small lights made up the light fixture over the bed. The bed however was very comfortable but I was happy we were there for only one night. I would visit the hotel again but only for dinner and afternoon tea. Waldorf you are worth so much more but are so in danger of losing your identity! Les mer

The hotel is in a great location. I walked to all the sights I wanted to see! The hotel itself was nice -- rooms aren't really big, but what you would expect in a big city and they make good use of the space. However, the service and staff attitudes were incredibly varied. Restaurant hostess was snobby and rude on a ocuple of occasions. One waitress […] was great while another waiter was impossible to get to come back. Housekeeping was inconsistent. However, all of the concierge staff was helpful and efficient. Overall a good place to stay but wasn't quite 5 star experience. Les mer

Had high hope for this 5 Star Hotel & was a treat for a Friend. Unfortunately it is not to 5 Star standards, so was a big disappointment. Bathroom needed updating, products & refreshments where sparse especially as it was a twin room, not enough for 2 for even one night! Beds where rickety. Pool area needs some urgent attention the lack of repairs & […] decor made you wonder how clean the area was. TV reception was awful. The only good points where location & the staff which you couldn't fault. would not go back which is a great shame as such a well known hotel, i feel they are riding on there name massively. Les mer

The hotel staff were excellcent everything you would want for that special weekend away. we have a fanastic time with easy walking distance(if you like walking) of most things. Would recommend anybody to do the 'The Waldorf' its an experience not to be missed.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Waldorf Hilton. The staff were very helpful and the complimentary bottle of wine made a great start too! The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and we made a point of sitting and enjoying the wonderful surroundings in which it was served. The location was perfect for us as we had tickets […] to the Royal Opera House, literally 5 minutes walk, if you walk slowly! Great restaurants around there too. I would definitely recommend it to others and hope we're lucky enough to go again ourselves one day. Les mer

This hotel is in an amazing location and you receive impeccable service. However for a five star hotel I didn't expect to find a torn bed covering which then makes you doubt the cleanliness etc of the room! I would definitely stay there again as it was minutes away from all the best theatres.

Nice location, the staff were friendly and efficient, the overall condition of the hotel was good, A bit of a queue checking in, room a little small, on the second day breakfast was burnt certainly not worth £22.00 each.

Disspapointed for a 5* stoppped in a twin delux room on the 8th floor dingy outlook back of the the building. Only one 3 pin plug in the whole of the room diffucult with 2 women in it !! This hotel is in a good location close to Covent Garden and Theatres. We had a deluxe twin room which was spacious, clean and well presented. The check in was easy and we were able to leave our luggage with the concierge to be brought to our room when the room was ready.The down sides where faulty air conditioning and the shower flooded into the room. […] We reported these faults at reception and they just said they would report it to housekeeping. We checked out later that day and housekeeping had still not arrived. Overall we enjoyed our stay but I have stayed in better quality cheaper hotels in London. Les mer
"Waldorf Hilton - Excellent renovation and convient"
We stayed here one night to go to the Theatre. The Rennovations are excellent - except the windows rattled as a storm blew threw the night.There is no insulation brushes on the new windows! The swish design of the bathroom means no proper space for your wash gear! Breakfast was fantastic in the Palm Court and all round it was a value for money stay […] in the heart of theatreland! "Great Staff and Great Location"
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the staff was very welcoming and helpful. Although we arrived very early, they were able to give us a room right away. Once we set out from the hotel, arrmed with maps and information supplied with by the staff, we discovered the hotel was in a great location. The London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Picadilly Circus […] and many other sights were within walking distance Also close by were all forms of public transportation. The rooms was very clean and I felt large for European hotels. Amenities were wonderful as was the breakfast provided at the hotel. Not to mention the hotel is right in the heart of the theatre district of Londaon. Would definitly stay here anytime I am in London. Les mer
"Great location for west end"
Ideal location for theatres we went to the Novello which was next door . Stayed in deluxe room the room was on first floor, we had no view a giant air conditioning unit was outside the window, no road noise which was good, bed was very comfy but bathroom very dated, light bulbs blown and tv did not work, they said there was a problem with tv reception […] there but we were not offered any money back. Breakfast ok but had as good in 4 / 3 star hotels. Staff friendly but slow on check in, a few people grumbling in the que. Les mer

This hotel was a good choice for us. Location was perfect.We could walk to many of the tourist attractions or use the Bus Tours, or go to a show. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Our only complaint was Internet acess, especially wireless was problematic. If you wanted wireless, you could pay for it 17 pounds for 24 hours, but you had to go […] to the lobby to use it, not available in your room. Otherwise enjoyed our 3 day stay and would go back again. Les mer

"great location combined with good service"
This hotel is located in the heart of London and offers great service. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I can think of only one thing to improve: the heating facilities could use some renovation. Other than that I was more than pleased with my stay there.
"The Waldorf Hotel, London - poor value for money"
The Waldorf Hotel in London was a great disappointment. Despite paying full rate and stressing that it was a special occasion for us (my 60th birthday), we were first given a 'dungeon' on the second floor with limited space, no bath and the wash basin in the room itself. Upon complaint, a better room was miraculously found on the 8th floor but this […] could only be described as mediocre in terms of its facilities, with limited space and small windows. The fact that we had changed rooms seemed to flumox the concierge service and it took 3 phone calls and over an hour before our bags reached our new room. Generally, the hotel seemed drab and tired and in need of refurbishment. If ever there was a hotel living on its reputation, it is the Waldorf. In terms of value for money, it is one of the worst that we have ever stayed at. Les mer
