"Rolig, stille område."Anmeldt av en hotels.com-gjest den mai 7, 2012
Koselig hotell i rolige omgivelse. Nærhet til banen til sentrum. 15min. Reise med laus til sentrum av Dublin. Baren er også treffsted for lokalbefolkningen, hyggelig. Alt virker reint. Har rektorstolen. Svømmebassenget helt prima. Hotellet ligger i et industri område, greit å komme fra flyplassen med bil, ca 20 km.

"A 5 star Fawlty Towers experience"
Check in : 3.15 pm Enter room 386 - wet towel on bathroom floor which I moved into a corner and ignored . Only 1 wine cork sized bottle of shampoo and shower gel provided for 2 adults and 2 children . Nothing so far really bothered us much though . Went out for a few hours and returned to very strong damp smell from bathroom caused by the wet towel […] . Moved it outside door of room and informed receptionist as we headed down for dinner in the lord mayors lounge which was very enjoyable and tasted great . Returned to room 2 hours later to find towel still outside room . 9 pm bedtime for our 3 and 5 year olds . By 10.30 we were all asleep in the 2 tiny double beds which were only 4 foot wide . 4 foot 6 is a standard double but most hotels have Queen size 5 foot wide at least . At 11.45pm we were awoken by music blaring from the function room below us . A Neil Diamond impersonator was blasting out Sweet Caroline . I went out into the hallway to check if it was coming from an adjoining room but when I rang the concierge I was informed the noise was from the function room below but that he would ask for the base to be lowered . By 12.30 the DJ was pumping out 'Highway to Hell' and we were wondering if sleep would be seen again for the night . Our 3 year old was now dancing about the room to the music . It was finished by 1.30 but then a steady stream of merry guests were in fine form along the corridor outside our room . The following morning we went for a stroll in the beautiful St. Stephens green across from the hotel only to return to find our room key disabled at 11.30 ( check out is 12.00) So to check out . First I am told that I owe for 2 nights . I informed the receptionist that we only stayed for one night and that it was pre-paid . He then pressed a few buttons and said 'Oh that's right' I was not asked the customary ' was everything alright for you ? ' so as I was concluding paying for parking I volunteered the information that I felt that our roo Les mer

In a word...awesome!
"Almost Perfect!"
In a city generally known for poor service and faux hospitality, The Shelbourne is a shining ray of hope! The staff here are exceptional - polite, well informed, and delightful - and certainly worthy of their 5-star rating. The hotel itself is classically opulent - common areas are ornately furnished and the floral decorations are creative and magnificent. […] Rooms are meticulously appointed - the beds comfortable, the towels cushy and the toiletries lovely. A few little drawbacks though: The fitness area is modest and spread over three non-adjoining hotel rooms, making a workout a bit awkward. And, there is no outside area for smokers - consequently smokers cluster on the very tiny porch at the front door - (no rules here as to how close to an entrance one can smoke) - which makes entering and exiting the hotel quite annoying as most times of the day someone is present to exhale smoke in your face. Hopefully enough non-smokers will find this as bothersome as we did and eventually the hotel will designate a smoking area away from non-smokers. Apart from those two little pitfalls - everything else was first-rate! And by all means, treat yourself to the afternoon tea - elegant and worth every penny! Highly Recommended! Les mer
"Shelbourne - beautiful hotel with great servic"
The staff were wonderful. I was staying with my parents, and after talking to us once the reception staff remembered our names. They could not have been more helpful. The bedroom was extremely comfortable, with a beautiful marble bathroom. Some of the public rooms downstairs are decorated rather darkly for my taste, but that's a minor quibble! It […] is perfectly situated for walking round the sites of Dublin, and when I booked the rates were extremely reasonable for a hotel of this quality. This can't last, so go soon! I loved this hotel and will be going back. Les mer
We stayed at the Shelbourne to celebrate our wedding - and even though it was a small celebration (just me, my husband and my stepdaughter), we were treated like royalty. Upon hearing that we were celebrating our wedding, not only did the woman at the front desk upgrade us to a suite (which was gorgeous), but the staff brought us strawberries and chocolate, […] and offered a champagne toast with our dinner. I simply can't say enough good things about the quality of both the hotel and its employees. We also spent many an hour in the Horseshoe Bar, resting after a day of sightseeing. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My compliments to all the staff - I give the Shelbourne my highest recommendation. Les mer

"The Shelbourne - overpriced"
Great location - but hotel in no way lives up to its website (except in its prices - room service charges are unbelievable) which makes it appear far more grand than it really is. Lounge area is tired. Bar nice but constantly packed. Entrance foyer is small. Check-in is dark and miserable. Room had no view, uncomfortable lumpy beds..in no way a luxury […] hotel. Staff are vacant and unattentive. If you want somewhere where you can fall out onto the main attractions and are willing to pay their prices then ok - but there must be better hotels for the price. "Shelbourne Hotel Dublin"
We made the most of the hotel location; central and walking distance from Trinity College where we were celebrating a graduation; a short walk to our restaurant and nearby a good hostelry to end the evening.
"shelbourne hotel - right on st stephens green"
this hotel has been refurbished in the last few years and is a beautiful landmark building in dublin - the interiors of all the public areas are stunning and very comfortable. we had got a special offer so whilst our room was very nice we were at the back of the hotel loking out into another building so no view of st stephens green sadly. the breakfast […] was very tasty and plentiful. "A little overpriced, but worth it for a short stay"
Our room was a bit small, but had everything we needed. It was a queen room. Location was good, staff very good with customer service. Hotel did seem a bit snooty, and would not recommend for a longer stay, mainly due to price. I was a little disappointed with our view (a brick wall) at first, but when I asked to move, they said they were full. Then […] I realized we would really not be in the room during the day, so it wasn't a big deal. Just hoping for the price, we might get a nice view of St. Stevens Green. Overall, after visitng several B&B, (which are not cheap either, by the way) this was a nice welcome, to sleep in a comfortable bed. Les mer
"authentic and elegant"
We were pleased from the moment we arrived til the moment we left. Our room was given to us @ 9am by a warm and friendly receptionist (despite the 2pm official check-in time.) Hotel was perfectly located, old and authentic but not tired in any way. The service was top flight everywhere, the room was elegant and tasteful. Breakfast was superb. We were […] wondering about on the mezzanine to try to find the room where the constitution was signed when a charming and polite hotel worker asked if he could be of any assistance. He proceeded to escort us to the correct room and then gave us an historical overview. Fabulous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a distinctive, authentic, completely pleasant experience. Les mer
"Great deal!"
We got a great deal on The Shelbourne Hotel. I'm originally from dublin but don't live there anymore so if was definitely a treat to stay there after growing up being familiar with the hotel and it's surroundings. I would recommend this hotel for it's style and comfort, great bars, tea room and food and only a few minutes walk from Grafton street!
"Grand Old Hotel"
I was surprised at the roominess of the room I stayed in and also another room another family member stayed in. I had a standard 2 bed room, but it was lovely and the bathroom was very spacious. Overall stay at hotel was excellent. I would say that unless you want to experience a true Irish Breakfast, including mushrooms, steamed tomatoes and thick […] porridge, I skip the expensive hotel breakfast and find a local place. Also, the early bird meals at restruants start at 5pm and run through 7pm. These are very good values. Les mer
"Flawless Luxury"
The Shelbourne has a great location, wonderful rooms, and fantastic service. A terrific place to stay in Dublin.
"Ein tolles Hotel mit Stil und Geschichte"
Drei Nächte Aufenthalt, in denen eigentlich alles stimmte.
