Enkelt og bra hotell i Europeisk stil (les: litt shabby), meget sentralt. Hyggelig betjening, rent og ikke spesielt lytt. Veldig bra valuta for pengene. Anbefales!

Hotellet ligger meget sentralt til med kort vei til det meste. Komfortabelt, rent og god service. Gratis vinsmaking og nakkemassasje ved siden av resepsjonen fra 17-18 (meget praktisk etter en hektisk dag med sightseeing og shopping). :-)

Et fint og rent hotell med hyggelige ansatte. Ingenting negativt å si om hotellet, men nabolaget har en del uteliggere i noen kvartaler ned mot sentrum. Opplevde derimot ikke noe ubehagelig. Det er også svært kort vei ned til sentrumsområdet og Market street, og taxi er veldig billig slik at man slipper å gå på kveldstid. Fint hotell i forhold til hvor billig det var!

"Kjempemye hotell for pengene"
King George hadde utmerket beliggenhet. Personalet var svært hyggelig, og vi hadde en kjempegod seng. Noe eldre standard, men til den prisen og med den beliggenheten, var det en ubetydelighet. I tillegg var det veldig lett å komme seg dit med BARTen. Anbefales på det sterkeste!

"King George Hotel San Francsico"
Et gammelt, slitt hotell med knøttsmå rom. Da vi hadde sjekket inn og endelig fått bært opp all bagasjen viste det seg at det allerede var noen i rommet vårt! Dermed tok det litt tid før vi fikk et nytt rom, mye fram og tilbake, personalet bestod av unge, litt uinteresserte menn. Rommene var så små at du knapt hadde plass til å gå rundt sengen, på […] badet var det bare plass til én person om gangen. Dørene til hotellrommene passet ikke i rammene sine, så både lys og lyd kom inn og ut gjennom dørsprekkene. Standarden på rommet var skuffende lav - spesielt med tanke på at dette var det dyreste hotellet på hele den 3-ukers lange USA-reisen vår! Hotellet ligger meget sentralt, like i nærheten av Union Square, Cabel Car, masse flotte butikker, gallerier og flere frokost restauranter rett uten for døren. Personellet er service innstilt og imøtekommende. Det eneste som kunne vært bedre var rommene, disse var veldig små ift europeisk standard. Men alltid rent, pent og ordentlig.

King George Hotell er et flott hotell med en fin beliggenhet. Rommene er fine, og rengjøringen blir gjort ordentlig. sengen var god å sove i, og dusjen var grei å bruke. Noe svak stråle. Det er et noe slitt hotell, men det er rent og pent. De ansatte på hotellet var meget service innstilte. De har 2 pc'er i lobbyen som er til gratis bruk. snedig når […] man skal finne frem i en stor by, samt at de har en engen persjon som står til disposisjon for turistene. Det var ikke resturang på hotellet, noe som var et minus. Men det er en hyggelig kafe rett ved siden av, der de har god frokost. Koslig og relitivt rimelig hotell i hjertet av San Francisco! Personale var veldig hyggelige, med en god serviceinnstilling. Hotellet serverer ikke frokost, men på samme kvartal finner du minst 3 diners, som serverer frokost! Mer sentralt kan man ikke få det, ett kvartal fra butikker som Urban Outfitters, forever 21, H&M, Macy's, Nordstrom og Westfield […] kjøpesenter. I dette kvartalet ligger også cabel cars, som tar deg til den norske sjømannskirken eller fisherman's wharf. Transport ellers er veldig lett tilgjengelig i dette området! Hotellet hadde grei enkel standard. Gode senger. Det som trakk opp var svært sentral plassering, downtown på Union Square. Kort vei til shopping,chinatown,off transport(Bart) Gode frokostkafeer rett utenfor døra.

Vi var en god uke på hotellet og hadde 2 rom. Veldig grei folk og hjelpsome det beste de kunne. Rommene greie nok, men veldig lytt både inne og ute sove med øreplugger kunne høre enklelte ganger hva som skjedde i "naborommet" og fra gangen. Det ligger veldig bra til,og hjelpsomme ansatte. Very close to Union Square, activities and shopping. Many restaurants nearby, from fast food to sit-down. While the rooms can be small, they're very comfortable, clean and well maintained for an older property. Parking rates are comparable to nearby hotels. Upper floors help with the city noise, but remember that it's right in the heart of Union Square so you have to accept the noise. Ask for a room away from the street. "Good hotel in good location."
We stopped at the King George for one night and it was absolutely fine. One of the cheaper hotels in this area, the staff were very helpful, there was free Internet and access to a printer, the room was nicely decorated and of a good size, and there is lots nearby. Would stay again.

This place has great SF character. The staff was amazing, the location is in the heart of shopping in Union Square. We had an easy walk down to Fisherman's Wharf and took a taxi back. Well worth it and I WILL stay there again.
It was as expected...older hotel, with small rooms, but clean enough for me to stay there again for the price...

very pleased with a night at the King George ... a short walk from Powell St Bart and a great location for a short stay in San Francisco. Rather than breakfast at Lori's Diner try the place over the road on the corner of the street for a change, either are good, but the latter was great.

"We Really Enjoyed The Hotel!!"
The hotel was very clean, our room looked freshly painted and well maintained. The room are smallish but we had no issue with that since we spent most of our time elsewhere.The staff was very accommodating, they brought a cot for our daughter to stay with us a night since she lives near by. Also provided us with a small refrigerator too. The location […] is good, near the BART, Union Square, bus stops, restaurants, China Town, need I say more? The price was very fair for SF I think. The only complaint? The toilet was very powerful so you had to be careful for splashing FRESH water. I forgot to tell the staff about hat one though. Les mer
"Location is great"
Although the room is small, this is a great location for a last min. get away and explore San Francisco. The location is close to Powell Bart rail system, Union square, and various Bus lines. I recommend this hotel for those who are planning a 2 day adventure in the city.

The hotel is very close to Union Square and the cable cars that run down Powell. I could even hear the cable car bells from my room from time to time. The staff was attentive and helpful. They were even kind when I stumbled down stairs and asked them to point me toward the nearest Starbucks. The room was small and not fancy - but it was comfortable […] and clean. I have stayed at the King George before so I am a repeat visitor. It is so convenient to Union Sqaure, the Bart, and everything I want to do in San Francisco. I had some challenges with my arriving flight and the concierge service made sure that my room would be ready for me when I finally arrived. The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. I hope […] to be staying here again soon as I think the value is exceptional for my budget. I like places with some character and this place fits that bill for me. "St Paticks Day"
I had two nights and three days for . Fair value for the room BUT the union at one of the neighboring hotels were on strike and were loud and I asked to be moved. The Hotel staff at King George Hotel accomodated quickly and I was moved to the opposite side of the hotel where it was nice and peaceful. "A bit shabby"
I would guess there are many tourists who would find this old building charming, but it mostly just reminds me of the old badly-maintained rotting building I lived in when I had an apartment in San Francisco. It's cleanliness objectively fits the star rating, but there's just something about it that makes it feel a little more shabby. The doors don't […] quite make a seal, you can hear just a bit too much of the neighbor's rumblings, and the bedding just isn't comfort-inspiring. The free wifi is usable for looking up addresses, but don't expect to get any work done (and definitely don't expect to make a skype call). The neighborhood is half Tenderloin, half Euro backpacker. (Though very convenient if, like me, you really like Thai food. It's abundant.) The shower puts out consistently hot water, which is lovely. The complimentary ring of soap is impossibly clever. But these are the highlights. If it's your first time to SF, stay somewhere nicer, so you don't get too bad of an idea about the place. Or, for the price, just stay at the hostel next door. You'll have a lot more fun and you won't have to suffer through Sir Churchill staring you down as you wait for the elevator. Les mer

Ett svar fra King George Hotel - Union SquarePeeling paint. Lights did not work. Room was dirty and full of odors. One small slow elevator accommodated a 9 story hotel. Parking was $33 per day. Hotel was dated and had not been refurbished in decades.

Having the floors refinished in your home is a daunting task, as you have to move out, even if it is in your city. We picked the King George because of the location, price and the history. It was built in 1914 and still retains the charm and grace, after all these years. The staff went over backwards to make are stay pleasant. If you are looking for […] somewhere that is in a safe and convenient location, this is the hotel for you. You are a few blocks from Union Square but also close the the theater district. The public bus system is excellent in San Francisco and on one of our forays to North Beach and back, the bus stopped 1 block from the hotel. "Good Location but very noisy"
we stayed here for 1 night. We booked this hotel as we wanted to be close to Union Square. The room was ok but we could barely sleep at night because the walls very VERY thin and we could clearly hear people in the adjacent rooms. It was quite noisy. The staff is not very friendly either. Overall disappointed with our stay.

Our room was small but clean. The pay movies offered were not available due to some undefined technical issue, so no late night entertainment. We ordered breakfast the following day in our room and it never arrived. When we inquired, we found out that they did not know which room had ordered the breakfast. The bed was comfortable, room was cozy but however, the heater is not functioning and no non-smoking room available as there was a convention on going during the week I was there. Walking distance to shopping areas at union sq and market st.

My only gripe about this place is that they advertise that the rooms have "candy jars", which sounds really fun and like an unique amenity. However, when we got to the room, there was just a jar full of mints. Perhaps that is nitpicky, but I don't really think of mints when I hear "candy jar".

This hotel is convenient to Union Square, very clean, nice staff and serviceable rooms with free Internet. But my room next to the elevator overlooking busy Mason street was extremely noisy and sleep was nearly impossible.
Kind of an old style hotel, located very close to most of the attractions in SF. Stayed there for 3 days. The rooms are clean and the hotel employees are very helpful. Has free WiFi.
