1.) Card key did not work in back door making long walk around necessary. Customers were leaving door propped open, a security risk 2.) Screen in room 131 was ripped and there was no lock on the window, another security risk 3.) New computer system is NFG 4.) I was happy with cooperation on late checkout

The basics in room and hotel experience, scuffed up appearance. Very convenient for UoDelaware sporting events.

I highly recommend this hotel. Great for the price, clean, comfortable. A little noisy when neighbors use their water (showers, flushing the toilet).

I stayed for just one night, which was fine. If it were a longer trip, I would not stay here.
The beds were very uncomfortable. The room was either too hot or too cold. Couldn't get a good temp. The bathroom was small and only had a shower which was not in the best shape. The breakfast was just okay. I've had much better in other hotels.

Cheap and directly across from the school and sports fields. Not the newest hotel, but it was clean and you can't beat the location if you are going to the University of Delaware for an event.

I selected this hotel because it is close to the University of Delaware. I was visiting for parents weekend. I had reserved a non-smoking room, but was told at check in the only rooms left were smoking rooms. Other than that, check-in went smoothly. The room had a very distinct smell of cigarette smoke in it. This forced me to leave the window open […] for the next 30 hours in the hopes of minimizing the smell. The room was small. The bathroom sink is not in the bathroom and is blocked by the bathroom door if that door is open. It is a shower stall and not a full sized tub. The bathroom was clean. The shower faucet was different (one knob to turn on and a smaller, attached knob to adjust temp), but was easy to figure out. Water pressure was decent. There is only one chair in the room and it is the desk chair. There is little space to move the chair else where, so you watch TV either really close to the set or by sitting on the bed. The hotel has free WI-FI, a very pleasant surprise. There were standard sized pillows on the queen bed, leaving an odd visual, but both the bed and the pillows were comfortable. The hotel offers a standard free breakfast (cereal, muffins, waffles, coffee and juice). The coffee was ok and on the second morning there was no OJ available at 830. Overall, it was a reasonable place for a short stay. Les mer

"Good price, but declining property"
I've stayed here a number of times over the past few years, and it appears the property is declining. The cleanliness of the room was OK, but the common areas are getting run down and not as clean as they used to be. I probably won't be staying here in the future.
I would recommend this hotel if they were going to Uof D (as am I.), however rooms were kind of dingy with outdated furnitire etc.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Since I was attending a Udel football game the location was perfect, directly across the street from the stadium. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. My only disappointment was that there was a stale odor in my room. Also, there were loud, drunk college students in the room above me. I didn't mind until […] they left their room and were outside my room, then I asked them to leave and they did. I guess because this is an inexpensive hotel, it attracts students who want a hotel room to party in at night. Les mer
"Great Place!"
Very clean. No bed bugs!!! Comfortable bed and pillows. No problems with the bathroom. Nice A/C unit. Can open windows as well. Great price for what you get. Friendly people. Could use more lighting and sound proof walls. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff was courteous and helpful, room looked cleaned (few stains on carpet); nothing glamerous but good for a few nights stay; good value for price; surprisingly quiet, given there was a college football game right across the street.

I've stayed at many Sleep Inns, and this one is as good as the rest.. You always know what to expect. The rooms are well organized and clean, the staff is friendly and the breakfast offered is always good. This place was a great stop for the night on our trip south. TGI Fridays is next door, and the roads are easy.

This is my third year moving my daughter into UD from Long Island and I needed a place to stay overnight. All the hotels I had previously stayed at were booked. Found this and the price was right. The hotel was clean, friendly, no frills, and across from the UD stadium. Not glamorous by any means but, was perfect for one night if you're just too tired […] to make the round trip. I would stay there again but skip the continental bfast and go into town for a real meal. Les mer

This is by far the dirtiest hotel room I have stayed in. Mold (i have pictures) in the AC unit. Dirty blankets and sheets. Lipstick and stains all over them. good thing we did bring extra sheet for just this kinda of thing.

"Sleep Inn, Newark, Delaware. I'd stay there again"
We enjoyed our stay here. It was conveniently located and a good value for the price. The staff was professional and very courteous and the room was clean although it would't have passed military inspection as the corners of the room were not thoroughly vacuumed. Except for that, everything else was very clean and fresh. We would stay there again.

I guess this is what you get from a 2 star hotel. Noise from the surrounding rooms and the knowledge that people are using their bathroom every once in a while.
"Clean but a weathered"
If felt the rooms were clean but the condition of the room, in particular the shower was not good. I switched rooms (which I never do) because the first was so bad. The second wasn't a huge improvement.

Would recommend this inn for short economical stays. Certainly not first class, but ok for a night or two if passing through. Room was small and very average in terms of cleanliness. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and courteous!

We stayed at this property so my daughter could tour the University of Deleware Campus. It was located right across the street from the school. The homewood suites and the embassy suites which were located next door were double the price. They obviously are more upscale properties but for half the price it was well worth staying there. "Ok for a budget one night stay"
The staff was friendly, room was clean and the room served it's purpose of a bed to sleep in for the night. The room itself was pretty small, sink right next to the bed, toilet and shower in a closet size area with a door (shower only, no tub). For the price, the room worked well for what we needed but I would not want to start there multiple nights […] in a row. There is a TGIFridays next door which was nice for a quick dinner. Les mer
