Herodion Athens - Aten

Veldig kort vei til Metro (500m) som går til flyplassen. Rent fint rom men noe støy fra veien. Super takterasse men utsikt til Akropolis som er noen hundre meter unna og to stk oppvarmet jacuzzi. Gangavstand til Plaka-området der det er fint å gå ut å spise. Kan anbefales.

Herodion er et meget komfortabelt hotell, med utrolig utsikt mot Akropolis fra takterrassen. Beliggenheten er også flott, sentralt uten trafikkstøy. I tillegg er servicen meget bra, og frokosten av høy standard.

Flott hotell med takterrasse der det var solsenger, jacuzzi, steamdusj og vanlig dusj. Så rett opp på Akropolis. 10 min gange til inngangen til Akropolis, og 5 min til Plaka. Nærme Akropolis stasjon(Metro). Hyggelig og behjelpelig personale. Grei størrelse på rommet, fint rom og bad(med badekar). Rent. God frokost. Veldig fornøyd.

Vi ble utrolig fornøyd med hvor bra det var på Herodion. Vi trodde ikke det var så høy standard, men dette var kjempe bra. Rommene var så deilige, ortopediske senger, aircondition, utsikten formidabel. Vi kunne nærmest "ta" på Akropolis. Perfekt beliggenhet,- anbefales på det sterkeste.

Herodian er praktisk talt nabo til Acropolis. 3 min. gange til en av Aten's største turistattraksjoner - uten at du merker turiststrømmen mens du er på hotellet. Det er også gangavstand til bydelen Plaka, med mange fine spisesteder og butikker. Hotellet har en flott takterrasse, og utsikten herfra mot et opplyst Acropolis på kveldstid må oppleves. Rommene […] er moderne, har deilige senger, AC, og ellers alt du forventer deg å finne på et over middels hotell i Hellas. Prøv også restauranten på takterrassen til Royal Olympic Hotel. Hotellet ligger 5 min. gange fra Herodion, og har en av områdets flotteste restauranter og coctailbar under åpen himmel. Utsikten til Acropolis, Zeus katerdralen med mer er rett og slett utrolig. It is situated in a safe area and close to all the things worth seeing with a beautiful view . The hotel standard is not a fully 4 star, but closer to 3. The staff aren't the most smiling ones. Recommended.

The Herodion Hotel was a pretty great hotel in an amazing location. The service was great and the people were very friendly. And it really is just steps away from the Parthenon and conveniently located near the tram to take you to the beach. The view on the roof top of the Parthenon is also amazing and great for relaxing with a drink. My only complaint […] is that you have to pay to have the jets run on the hot tub. I believe it was 5 euro for every 15 minutes and it just became annoying to put a time limit on that kind of relaxation. Otherwise, it was a really great trip and I 100% recommend the Herodion to anyone. Les mer

Very good and clean hotel, excellent location, good breakfast very friendly and helpful staff. From negative side is lack of coffee maker in the room or even in the lobby, another inconvenience you have to pay and renew internet connection for every 24 h. 4 star hotel should afford this few thing at this days coffee maker and free internet are attributes […] of less star hotels. Hotel was great. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is close to everything, all the important land marks. My only wish is that it was closer to the Plaka area, but it was still only 10-15 minute walk. I do not recommend the day tour of the three islands that is offered. Nice roof top deck with a great view. Many restaurants just a block a way. Metro is just 2 blocks away. Clean, modern rooms and a very helpful staff.

We arrived in early April, we were told they had plenty of rooms available. The hotel was very close to the Parthenon, the checking was friendly, however as soon as we got up to our floor smelled a bit unfresh. The room was very small, no closet space, and smelled like stagnant water. The mattresses and pillows were hard and uncomfortable. We only spend […] the time there we absolutely needed to. We had booked a room at a nearby hotel which stated that the room would have an Acropolis view. It did but only if you stood on the small balcony and turned completely left. When looking out the sliding door! you looked directly into an ugly building. So we moved to the Herodion the next day and stayed in a room that stated Acropolis view and it did! […] The room itself wasn't quite as nice as our first hotel, but the view was what it claimed to be. In addition, it had a rooftop deck for sunning with magnificent views and an outside hot tub area, which we didn't use as I believe there was a small fee. The room was very nicely kept, clean and attractive, but nothing special, then again the rate was quite reasonable. You can walk everywhere from this hotel and I would highly recommend it. Les mer

This was one of the best locations in town, nice clean Hotel, very friendly staff, and tasty breakfast. Pay a little extra for a room with a view. Will recommend this hotel to all friends and colleagues traveling to Athens.

The hotel is clean and modern. Very comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and bountiful. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is glorious...moments from the Parthenon/Acropolis... And right next to the Acropolis museum-- which is a fabulous building..Find the chocolate/ baklava shop around the corner on the way to the metro...delicious! […] The hotel did a lovely job transporting us from the airport-- would highly recommend spending the money for that convenience. We had an outside room overlooking the street. Would have hated the interior rooms!. Everything comfortable and lovely breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Have to pay for internet access. Great location near sights, restaurants and metro. Wonderful rooftop terrace view (especially at night) of Acropolis and Museum. Definitely recommended!

Very nice hotel! Beautiful lobby and entrance. Great price! Rooms and shower were clean. Rooms were small but fine. The hotel does charge 5 euros for Internet which I thought should be included. The staff were very nice but it would have been nice if they offered to help with my bags when they saw I was struggling with them up the stairs. We did have a small problem with the room type but that was fixed for us on the 2nd day. The bed was comfortable and room big enough to walk around comfortably.The staff was nice and polite, we ate breakfast every morning and the staff was always helpful, The hotel is close to the Metro stop (Acropolis) and nearly on top of the new Acropolis Museum, […] The access to the pedestrian walkways around the areas was very quick and easy. Location of the hotel and the view is great. Closeness to public transport and main attraction sites is the strongest point. Also the staff is kind and helpful. The only problem is the wireless internet connection that is pushing the nerves.

This hotel is located in a perfect location if you are visiting Athens for a few days. My wife and I travelled with my 3 year old boy for a 4 day trip to Athens after Christmas in December. We were very fortunate with the weather considering it was end of December. The hotel has a great front desk staff and are very helpful in providing all the details […] on where to go and what to do in Athens. They also gave us info on local events for kids. The rooms were kept clean and well serviced. The hotel's location is right next to the Acropolis with a 5 min walk to the main entrance. All other major areas such as Plaka (good for restaurantes) are within walking distance to the hotel. This came in real handy since we were travelling with a 3 year old. The restaurant at the hotel was also very good. Usually we don't prefer to eat at the hotel's restaurant. However, the restaurant in the lobby served really good food and was well priced. The price for our booking included breakfast which was very well organized and had a lot of choice of fruit, pastries, toast, juices, etc. For our stay we emailed the hotel ahead of time to request a triple room facing the acropolis and they did honour our request. We stayed in room 321. Overall, a great hotel, with great service, and great location. I would definitely give this hotel 4 stars. Les mer

Excellent stay at the Herodian. The hotel is located within walking distance of all the ancient ruins, The Acropolis, Mars Hill, etc. Outside our baloney was the Parthenon...beautiful sight, especially at night. The hotel staff were extremely helpful. Clean, spacious, quiet room. Very enjoyable stay. Would highly recommend!

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the Acropolis within 10 minutes, the Plaka Bazaar also within 10 minutes walk, and many restaurants. Just 3 minutes to the New Acropolis Museum and Jewellery Museum as well (in opposite directions). Very friendly and easy going staff that were pleasant and helpful.

Great position in centre of historic Plaka district. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and couldn't do enough to help and advise. The conservatory dining room was lovely. The only disappointment was the bedroom which in my case was a superior Akropolis view room, but which was a bit 'tired looking' and could do with modernising. I transferred here after several days at the Hilton while switching from work to leisure, and though the Hilton room was larger and fancier, Herodion was absolutely lovely and couldn't have had a better location. I also really liked the staff and the breakfast. There were no non-smoking rooms available. The hot tub was cold and would only be turned on for 15 minutes and only for a small charge. The room with a view was really a room with a view of a school fence. The room was quite small. Overall the convenience of staying this close to the Acropolis was outweighed by the disappointment of this over priced […] hotel. Les mer

i did a lot of research on this and other properties. I think in Greece you need to be staying in a 4 or 5 star hotel, because a 5 star hotel in Europe isn't the equivalent of a 5 star hotel in the USA. The hotel was very comfortable, staff very knowledgable and very friendly and the food/breakfast was fine. I have no issues over the hotel whatsoever […] as it certainly did the job, but there was no wow factor or anything that was spectacular (the view of the Acropolis on the roof was the only thing close but the deck itself was just a deck and nothing more than that). So don't expect anything outstanding and spectacular and you will have a very plesant stay indeed because there was nothing to dislike about the place. For someone that just wants a comfortable nights sleep as we don't spend more time in a hotel than we need to, then it was perfect. Les mer

We stayed at the Herodian for 6 nights when participating in the Athens marathon. The staff were incredibly helpful for our whole stay even starting breakfast just after 5am to accommodate our early start on marathon day. Very clean throughout. A really comfortable stay.

The location was very close to the Acropolis and museums, which was the primary benefit. The hotel itself was adequate. The negative was that the hotel staff were unfriendly and not helpful - very grumpy men.

It was great hotel, with a great and reasonably priced restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and there to help with bags and anything you needed. Clean rooms, great service will not go wrong with this one. Would like to go back just to stay in the hotel....
