Hotel Diva tries to come across as a "sexy hotel", right down to the condom in my safe and the note "safe sex" :) Still, its just another hotel, but a good one. The location, a few hundred meters from Union Square, the price, good and clean in addition to free Internet are all things makes this a good alternative for travelers. Christine at the front desk was great! She remembered us each day when we came down. The hotel was fun and well maintained. It is an old building with a modern update. TV reception was really bad. That was our only complaint.

Loved the Diva. Stayed for three nights. The decor is really fun, especially the sexy window shades. The rates were a bargain for central SF location. A tiny gym and little tucked in lounges were great to use. Bed and linens all clean and new feeling and very comfy. Rooms are small but we were not in SF to stay in our room. Steps from union square and public transportation to everything. Staff was helpful and courteous. Great little hotel in the heart of the city. Loved it!

I stayed at Hotel Diva (1 block from Union Square) for 7 days with my wife and 2 adult sons using 2 rooms. Both rooms were quiet and comfortable. Very convenient to have refrigerators. Used complimentary in-room coffeemaker rather than the Starbucks next to the hotel lobby. All calls to front desk and housekeeping were handled quickly and effectively. […] I had a car rental for all days and used the hotel parking valet service. The cost is high but not when compared to other alternatives nearby. It usually took less than 30 minutes to have the car brought to the front of the hotel. Les mer

Fabulous location! Within walking distance to major shopping attractions, restaurants and Chinatown. I came down with a cold during the last few days of our stay. It was great to be able to walk just a block or 2 to Walgreens for cold relief medicine and a couple of oranges. Easy jaunt to any method of transportation (bus, trolley, cable car). Panhandlers […] are numerous in the Union Square area in general, but we were never flocked right outside of the hotel entrance. Hotel Diva staff were helpful and courteous. Our room was clean, contemporary and spacious. We shared a room featuring a Murphy bed. My friend took the queen bed which she said was just the right amount of comfortable. I was concerned that the Murphy bed would be like sleeping on a board, but it was comfortable for the 6 days I slept on it. We slept in late every morning and weren't bothered by the music from the Starbucks located off the lobby. Light sleepers wishing to sleep in may want to stay someplace else, use white noise or earplugs. Having the convenience of easily accessible hot tea and a soy latte while we got ready in the morning was worth the minor AM noise factor. We were delighted with our stay at the Hotel Diva, would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others. Les mer

I spent a lot of time researching hotels in SF so we could have a nice stay and hotel diva was easy and convenient. We were hoping for a king bed when we booked the king/queen option but only got the queen. It was a bit small since we usually sleep in a California king at home but it was comfortable. The room was tight but decorated nicely. It was close […] to union square which is what we were looking for. Overall it was a good experience and I would stay again. Les mer

Great location right on union square. 40$ for parking but very convenient because we drove right up to the door. They told us it would take 30 min in am so we planned to have breakfast at Starbucks. The front desk woman brought us the keys and we were able to sit and finish eating. Union square is crawling with homeless people and it does not feel safe […] so I would not stay there with children. My husband and I were only there for one night so it was fine. Room was small but clean and adequate. Really good shower pressure and comfortable bed. No fridge in the room. Les mer

not a bad place, very noisy if you have a front room. Ask for one at the back!

I live in the bay area, but stay in the city from time to time. This is not the first time I've stayed at the Hotel Diva and it never disappoints! This time I was there to celebrate my birthday and after mentioning it in passing the hotel provided a complimentary (amazing) bottle of champagne! Thank you Hotel Diva for making me feel so special!

Nice hotel in a great part of town. Big bathroom, small sink for shaving. No high def channels on a flat screen TV is a pet peeve of mine, including no ESPN which is totally weird.

The room was clean and nice but very small. I would stay there again but never with kids the room was way too small.

The Hotel Diva is an interesting place to stay. Great location near Union Square. Some might find the street people a bit much, but that did not interfere with our love of this historic part of San Francisco. It is great to across the street from theatre. The staff and service are excellent. The rooms are comfortable but a bit strangely appointed. […] We had a queen suite which was a nice size that had a separate bedroom. The suite area had a Murphy bed, lamps and a small dinette table with four chairs and that was it! No couch or easy chair in which to sit. Strange. The exercise room was excellent for a hotel. Weight machines, lots of dumbbells, and 3 cardio machines. Our only real complaint was that there are only 2 chairs on which to sit in the very small lobby. We would stay there again. Les mer

Hotel was clean, front desk staff were friendly & helpful. Room was basic, with free wifi and basic amenities. Location was a few blocks away from Unions square, with restaurants and shopping nearby.

Nothing spectacular about this hotel. Clean room but very basic. The cable TV was pretty bad. Lines on the screen?!?!? That very 80's. No excuse for poor television in the 21st century. Not in any hurry to go back.

Place was cool and funky. Room was quite small for what I paid, but service, location and comfort was all excellent.

The room was small but cozy. The bed was very comfortable. Great location just a few blocks away from the cable cars and Union Square Park. A lot of street noise at night being right across the street from a theater but that doesn't bother me like it may bother some people. Free Wi-Fi was a plus! My wife really enjoyed the Starbucks right downstairs […] connected to the lobby. Overall enjoyed our stay at The Diva and would stay there again. Les mer

Hotel was well placed with comfortable bed and modern room. If you are worried about noise ask for a room at the back as the room that we were in was on the main road so was a little noisy at night when the evening shows were on. Would have been nice to have tea making facilities included.

Good basic hotel. Good value for money. No restaurant no free wifi but nice staff good gym good coffee and heated pool

The hotel itself was not bad, though the windows opened completely and had no screens and the rooms were very small, it could have been a pleasant stay, as the weather was perfect. The hotels staff left a lot to be desired and made the entire stay horrible. Very rude and pretentious individuals. They didn't even acknowledge my or any other guests presence […] that I observed. Spend $25.00 more per night and stay at the Sir Frances Drake. Les mer

Room was clean and comfortable. Small but neat and compact. Overall feel was good and wireless worked perfectly. Front desk super helpful as was doorman in securing cab. Would stay again. Only drawback was "designed" blinds. However there was a light blocking blind on top of the designed blind so all worked out. Overall, very positive experience.
