Veldig hyggelig betjening.

"Hotell i New Orleans"Anmeldt av Else F av "OSLO" den jan 15, 2012
Hyggelig i hotell rett ved Jackson Square i NOLA. Flere bygninger rundt en "court-yard" med svømmebasseng og grønne trær. Mulighet for frokost ute.

"Perfect for a romantic getaway"
I loved the staff, the hotel, and my room. The staff helped me to surprise my husband with an anniversary getaway. They hid the chocolate covered strawberries made sure my room was perfect. They even dealt with me calling a thousand times with class and grace. I would like to thank them for helping make my stay an awesome experience.
"Walking distance from Amtrak station"
Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was great and the TV came in well. The hotel was located within walking distance from the Amtrak station and the River Walk Marketplace. There was a noisy A/C pipe in the corner behind the TV, but it did not keep us awake. Sorry our train left too early to enjoy the continental breakfa […] st. Les mer
Over priced for room quality (Jazz Festival rates) but the location was perfect!
"Smoke filled room"
The hotel was nice, and in a good part of town. The service was fine. Unfortunately, the "smoke-free" hotel has a bar that is always filled with smoke, and at night it would come through the vents. I woke up with a sore throat and my room smelled like stale smoke. It was disgusting. I would not stay here again.

"Liked the rustic elements."
Huge room, small bathroom. Furniture needed some upgrades. Comfortable bed. Construction was going on in the street the first night and it was impossible to sleep. We wouldn't stay there again. The rustic brick, beems, and floor were the highlights.
"For budget minded travellers"
This hotel is close to almost everything that travellers look for. I stayed there for two nights and was satisfied for the stay compared to the cost of nearby hotels. Just be aware that they are going to charge you $ 9.95/day for internet use etc. But you get free unlimited calls to allover USA. The rooms have their own appeal (large rooms, squaeky […] wooden floors, bare brick walls). But if you expect a Hilton or Mariott experience you will be disaapointed. Les mer

"close to everything"
I enjoyed the Hotel's charm. It was very close to everything I wanted to see and do. I was working at the convention center and that was only a four block walk.

Hotel was a little beat up. They seemed to be in the midst of renovations. The front desk staff had little or no personality and seemed confused both times I checked in whether they had my reservation. The rooms were clean again just a little beaten up. Needed a little more maintenance. The mandatory fee for the "facilities" was a complete joke. I was […] at the hotel to sleep not to use some sort of rec room (which I couldn't find if i tried). Book this hotel if you are ok with a little bit beat up hotel with character and a great location to the French Quarter. Les mer
It was a charming idea with the exposed walls of the old warehouse but the general quality was very mediocre. There was a $10 required extra charge for wi-fi that I could not get a good connection to at night but was functioning in the morning. It was cooler in the hallways than in our room and the ceiling fan was noisy. When I called for assistance […] with the AC I was told no maintenance personel were on duty. The shower pressure was minimal. Worst of all there was noise all night from large metal plates covering holes in the street. Les mer

"Two stays at the Ammbassador/ New Orleans"
We had occassion to stay at the Ambassador New Orleans twice in a very short period of time. The first stay, we were on the third floor at the back of the hotel. There were wooden floors in the room, and although they looked great and suited the time period of the hotel, you could hear the people above and on either side when they were walking in their […] rooms. The second time we were on the front of the building on the 4th floor. There was carpet in this room and it was excellent. Although the Ambassador is outside the French Quarter, it is certainly within walking distance of everything. All thing considered we enjoyed our stay. Les mer
"watch the hidden costs"
The Ambassador is fine...comfortable room (although you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the adjoining rooms and in the hall. The location is perfect. My problem is that when you arrive they spring a "mandatory package charge" of $10 on you for use of room safe, wi-fi internet, etc. even if you don't intend to use them. Sorry, but I've got to call […] them out on this. Les mer
"Ambassador stay"
My room was on the first floor facing the hotel entrance which was very noisy. Also, a lot of maintenance happening which was also very loud at about 8:30am (e.g. very loud banging). The curtains did not completely cover the window, so light shined in making it hard to sleep. Bed was very hard. The exposed brick walls were beautiful, but room was very […] outdated and the bathroom was very lackluster. Desk was not at all ergonomic which made working uncomfortable. Just put in an adjustable office chair and that would probably solve that. Please stop using styrofoam and plastic everything!!!! Switch to Chinette at the very least and compost all food and paper items. Large selection for continental breakfast and fresh-squeezed OJ was nice. Switch to glasses in the rooms instead of wrapped plastic cups. Bellman was exceptionally nice and helpful. Hotel desk staff were satisfactory. Les mer
"Great for a quick trip to NOLA"
This was a great place to stay. It was a nice place hard wood floors and all... For the price your couldn't find better for the night we stayed. If you were staying a week maybe find some where else. But a hotel for under 100 is hard to find in NOLA especially one this nice. Just hate they had to add an extra $10 for the phone, workout room, etc... […] That was unexpected I even brought my on phone.... Les mer

"Hotel in new Orleans"
The Ambassador was a nice hotel, however our room was noisy. Every time a toilet was flushed not just in our room the pipes made this horrible noise. The window in the room was very small and in the corner. When you looked out all you could see was bricks 6 inches away. Needless to say it was very dark. There was no information in the room about the […] hotel and anything around it, not even a phone book. We had to pay a $9.95 amenities fee per night on top of the room fee and parking even though we didn't even use anything. Other than that it was very nice. Les mer

"Outstanding hotel"
This was an outstanding hotel. The rooms were very clean. I particularly loved the old hard wood floors. The room were small but that was not a problem. I would recommend this hotel.
There is a Mandatory Amenity Package charge of $9.95 for using phone calls and internet access. I don't expect to pay, b/c i don't use them. If it is a mandatory, they should add it the room rate. And there is a plastic sheet I sleep on. Plastic sheet is air proof, it made me sweat on my back. i couldn't sleep at all. Bad Hotel!
"Location/Price=good, Rooms/Hotel=Not so much"
We stayed here for a couple of days after staying in a more upmarket hotel the previous few days. The locale is great and easy to get to the Quarter, CBD, etc. Price was also very reasonable. You do however, get what you pay for. Rooms a bit subpar, beds very old and should be replaced, bathrooms have ceiling office tiles. Not the place to be if you […] want to hang out in your room but if you are out and about all the time and just want a place to sleep at a reasonable price, it serves the purpose. There is a mandatory $10/day fee for services you may or may not use, wifi, etc. They won't waive it, that was unexpected. Les mer
"Ambassador"
Very late check in of 4pm. Very squeaky wooden floors
"The Ambassador Hoel in New Orleans"
This hotel is not great. The hallways smelled like mold. There were wodd floors int he rooms os you could hear and walking that was happneing above you. The staff was nice though.
The staff was very nice and helpful ...I would stay here again.
"close to all tourist sites"
highly recomended for tourist
"Ambassador Hotel New Orleans"
We enjoyed our stay very much. The room was so charming and extremely comfortable. We were a little irritated at times with the front desk employees. Not all, but some were extremely slow with service and short with answers to questions. I felt like I was bothering them. Again, this was only one or two. The rest of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. […] I just hope others don't have to deal with those few bad employees because the overall experience was wonderful. Les mer
"Good Hotel Bad Staff"
The staff didn't seem to want to help us. At 5:00 the still didn't have a room ready and we were there at noon. We requested additional pillows and towels and never got them. The room was nice and comfortable and the decode was cool. What wasn't cool was they charged an automatic $9.95 charge for internet and long distance.
"Ambassador hotel - definitely not recommended"
I just returned from the Ambassador Hotel New Orleans and would not recommend it at all. To begin with on our arrival the greeting was not satisfactory or welcoming. The woman did not welcome us or even say hello. She did not explain the facilities of the hotel such as the breakfast that was included or the pool hours, or the concierge, this information […] was not found in the information folder in the room either. Being the first time in New Orleans this was disappointing. There was no other contact with any other hotel staff during our 4 day stay until check out. Being an old building the walls were extremely thin and we heard every movement in the surrounding rooms and the room above. We were woken up by the alarm of our neighbour at 5am. You can hear every footstep of the neighbours on the hardwood floor. The floor is polished and shiny, you cannot wear socks on that floor without slipping. One of the worst thing was a ridiculous fee of $9.95 per day which a sign at reception (not a person) told us was for internet use, fitness room, business facility, unlimited local phone calls. We used the internet only, which is not worth $9.95 per day. We used no other facilities (as explained above we weren't told about anyway) so I thought the fee was ridiculous and unnecessary. That should be included in the price you are quoted rather than find out from a sign that we are obliged to pay it whether we use it or not. There were definitely better hotels in New Orleans than this one for the price we paid. Please don't waste your money or time on this hotel. Les mer
Ideal location for convention center! Great location for resterant hopping by foot very safe area for walking to French quarter. Very large rooms. Real n.o warehouse feel. Bathrooms slightly dated but clean.
"Shabby Genteel, and Possibly Haunted"
All the pluses and minuses of the previous reviews had prepared us for some of the Ambassador's eccentricities-- floors so slippery that walking in socks was like ice skating, a room that was spacious but less than pristine, and a mandatory amenities surcharge of $10 a night for services we never used-- though even with that factored in, the room was […] a bargain, simply due to its location and the size of the room. We found the hotel to be charming, and the staff pleasant-- though only David was truly memorable (warm smile, genuine concern)-- but our biggest problem was GHOSTS. Don't laugh. The week was plagued by thunderstorms, yes. The grand old wooden floors from the hotel's days as a roastery groaned on occasion, true. But there was simply no way to account for the scuttling we heard inches from our nightstand, nor the very light but definite footsteps at the foot of our bed. We are not timid souls (we willingly tromped the city's graveyards sans tour in the dead of night) and so we rationalized, and calmed ourselves, and made peace with the possibility that we were not alone. But after three nights, there were at least two more souls who could not rest-- us! Les mer
"old and dirty"
front desk woman was very rude, i asked what the $9.95 extra daily charge was for, and was told sir, every one has to pay that. i said thats fine I just wanted to know what it covered. I travel for work all the time and am aware of resort fees and other add on costs, i just want to know what i am paying for. beds were hard and old, sagging in the middle, […] sheets were changed every 3 days, they had holes in them bring your earplugs you will hear every other guest close to you as there is no carpeting to buffer sound. "not what i expected"
We thought we were getting an amazing deal on a king suite,it showed pictures of a king size bed and tastefully decorated room. Turned out to be a double bed, very uncomfortable, view of a brick wall, cracks between the floorboards, exposed pipes and the ceiling fan didn't even work! Im not sure if this was false advertising on the websites behalf or the […] hotel but either way we are very unsatisfied and disappointed!! Les mer
"Crazy Noisey Stay"
The morning after our first night I went to get breakfast at 6:50 and although the doors were open, I was told I had to come back at 7:30 because they "weren't open yet." I returned at 7:20, only to find the place mobbed with the tour of elders who were getting their breakfasts, obviously all there well ahead of the 7:30 opening, and there was no place […] for my daughter and me to sit. Our third night, it was impossible to sleep with young people out in the hallway hootin' and hollerin' all night long. Even the desk clerk acknowledged the noise problem as I checked out at 6 a.m. the following morning. Really? People are allowed to act this way at the expense of other guests? It's very unlikely I will return. Les mer
"AMBASSADOR HOTEL - NEW ORLEANS"
POSSIBLY THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED AT! HAD THREE NIGHT RES AND LEFT AFTER FIRST NIGHT. CEILING TILES IN BATHROOM FELL FROM CEILING! MOLD EVIDENT THROUGHOUT THE BATHROOM.... SIMPLY PUT: A DUMP!
The location was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, which would have been nice. The furnishings were nice. We would return to to this hotel.
"Cute, quirky, great location, iffy service"
Interesting re-use of an old coffee factory -- attractive, rustic details, largish rooms. A few oddities -- windows do not open to the outside (is that even up to code?), rooms had glass panel doors opening to the hallway (with blinds to cover the glass but not sure how private and secure that is), bathroom fixtures/lighting could use an upgrade. The […] refinished old wood floors were beautiful but REALLY slippery, even in bare feet. The location is wonderful. Each time we needed service (not enough towels, for example) it took multiple calls and as much as two hours (it's a small place). Be aware they do charge additional required fees to cover the internet, biz ctr and fitness equip even if you don't use them, but the wi-fi service was good and fast. Breakfast has limited hours but was fresh (just basics - coffee, juice, pastries, fruit). The "restaurant" is actually a bar and eventhough it's supposed to be a non-smoking facility, the bar REEKED of smoke. Les mer

"Not what I expected and paid for"
I booked the Ambassador Hotel because the reviews were decent and the location was close to the French Quarter and Harrah's. The location turned out to be the only positive feature about this hotel. First, I booked a smoking room and even called to confirm that we had a smoking room. A lady at the front desk said they allowed smoking. When we arrived […] at the hotel, signs were everywhere stating they were a non-smoking hotel! I also thought I booked a king size bed, but arrived to find a full/queen bed that was detached from the headboard and on wheels - it slid every time you got on the bed. I asked to change to a king size but they were booked. They also only gave us two pillows for two people. When I called the front desk to request more they rudely said they had to check if they had some and then told me I had to come pick them up at the front desk. Not the worst thing in the world, but unusual in a hotel - usually they bring them to your room. I love staying in older hotels and this one looked cool with original hardwood floors and exposed brick; however, it was not well maintained. The floor was coming up in several areas in our room and nails were sticking up that made it easy to stub your toe on the way to the bathroom. The windows were very dirty and shower head in the bathroom was horrible. The water pressure and temperature were great, but the shower head indiscriminately sprayed water everywhere. Also, I expected to pay an additional daily fee for internet and the breakfast buffet, but the internet did not even work for one day and the buffet was very sparse (toast and two varieties of muffin; not even a bagel!). Thankfully, the manager that was on duty the day we checked out comped us one day's fee since the internet was down. Lastly, the valet parking which is the only option at this hotel (and $30+ a day) took forever. Once they lost our request to pick up our car and we ended up waiting 45 minutes. It always took longer than they told you. Needless to Les mer
