Really quiet hotel in the backyard of the backyard of the middle of Rome. Not even seen on Google streetview. Short walking distance to all tourist traps. Will be back soon.

Hadde et fint opphold i Roma. Hotellet lå i nærheten av alt. Hadde Via Nationale rett ved, noe som var positivt og negativt mht støy. Vi var en familie på 4, og fikk et dobbeltrom med to ekstrasenger i. Rommet var lite, og trangt. Aircondition virket ikke særlig, og da det var mye støy fra trafikk var det uholdbart å ha vinduet oppe. Det ble temmelig […] varmt i rommet på natta. Ellers var det rent og servicen var god. Frokostbuffeten var enkel, men grei nok. Fin utsikt fra frokostrommet. Personalet var veldig behjelpelig med alt. Les mer

Rommet var klamt - luktet mugg/gammelt, hadde fuktige og slitte vegger og slitt vegg til vegg teppe på gulvet. Badet har ikke vært pusset opp/vedlikeholdt på en stund så det ut til. Det var ikke varmt vann i dusjen. Vi ba om dobbeltseng i bestillingen, men fikk to enkeltsenger plassert sammen, greit nok det. AC viften bråkte forferdelig og viftene var […] urene. Hotellet har to pluss-sider; koselig frokostsal i øverste etasje med utsikt over nabolaget, og beliggenheten er ypperlig ift gangavstand til de aller fleste severdighetene. Les mer

Svært fornøyd med oppholdet, svært hyggelig betjening på hotellet og stor god frokost. Vi gikk til Coloseum 10 min, Trevi fontenen 10 min, Spansketrappen 10 min og Vatikanet 40 min langs små koselige gater i gamlebyen.

Hotellet ligger veldig fint til med gangavstand til det meste av severdigheter i Roma. Dette var mitt andre opphold på hotellet, kommer gjerne igjen. Hyggelig betjening. God frokost.

Flott hotell med stille og rolig beliggenhet midt i "smørøyet" av Roma. Colosseum ligger bare 10 minutters gange fra hotellet, Trevi-fontenen ca. 8 minutter, Spansketrappen ca. 1o minutter osv. Av severdighetene vi besøkte, så lå Vatikanet lengst unna, ca. 45-50 minutters gange. Hotellet anbefales på det sterkeste.

Lite hotell som ligger veldig sentralt plassert med de fleste av Romas severdigheter i gangavstand. Hyggelig frokostsal i øverste etasje med litt utsikt.. Veldig god service - hyggelig personale. Rommet var greit men slitt, og kunne trengt litt vedlikehold. Men renholdet var veldig bra, og det er det viktigste. Et hotell som vi veldig gjerne benytter […] ved neste anledning. Les mer

Hotellet er rent og pent. Frokosten serveres i toppetasjen med utsikt over Romas tak. Fantastisk i morgensolen. Bakveggen er dekket av et gammelt og flott veggmaleri. Hotellet ligget rett ved enden av Via Nazionale og du bruker 5 minutter på å gå til Trevi fontenen 10 minutter til Phanteon og alle handelgater og sentrum med Spansketrappen er også bare […] 5 - 15 minutters gange. Et trivelig hotell med god beliggenhet. Det er rent og pent her og absolutt et rimelig, men meget godt alternativ vi kan anbefale. Les mer

5 minutter til Trevifontenen/Colosseum og 8 til Panthenon. Helt grei frokost. Rent rom. Her betaler du for er beliggenheten, ikke comfor. Vi hadde et familierom, 2 voksne og 2 barn over 13. Rommet var meget trangt, men det gikk greit for en natt.

Et lite hotell som ligger 5 min. gange fra Trevifontenen, og ellers i nær avstand til de største attraksjonene i Roma. Veldig hyggelig betjening, og utrolig hjelpsomme. Rommene er ok., ikke så store, men har det en trenger. Vi hadde rom ut mot en trapp og nedenfor var det bilgate. Quiet Location som de reklamerer med var det ikke på vår side av hotellet. During our five night stay, we were happy with this hotel because the staff was, overall, quite friendly and helpful and the location is unbeatable. The breakfast buffet was very good and is served on a rooftop location with nice views. We would recommend that you insist on a room above the ground floor. As noted in other reviews of this hotel, some […] rooms on the ground floor are simply in an unacceptable condition. To their credit, the staff was responsive to our complaints when we were placed in one. The hotel would be well served to convert these rooms into an expanded public space, since the lobby is of limited dimensions and it is difficult to imagine an American guest finding such a room acceptable for the price. That said, this is, overall, a great hotel that offers many of Rome's most attractive destinations within walking distance. A lovely restaurant is situated across the courtyard from the hotel, and another that features very acceptable pasta dishes and pizza for reasonable prices is only five steps further away. Highly recommended, if you get an acceptable room. Les mer

Best of the best, great hotel, wonderful staff and the perfect location for seeing Rome in all it's glory. Room and view was excellent, comfortable. Great breakfast would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the eternal city, definitely would stay there again

Everything was wonderful. The room was spacious the breakfast was more than substancial, cleanliness was great all in all I would stay there over and over again except for the front desk day (clerk) he had sticky fingers. He was not to be trusted....

Super little hotel, great staff and very friendly! Excellent location for getting to all the main attractions in the city. Nice and quite to sleep in and the breakfast was enough to keep us going for the day. Would absolutley recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Rome! :-)

Fantastic location for a sightseeing visit to Rome, with a decent spread at breakfast. Unfortunately the hotel was very dated and noisy. The staff were friendly and helpful, however the bar never seemed to be open. On check-out we felt the lack of drink pricing clarity had left us with a 20euro bill for two drinks at the bar. The hotel is rated as 4star […] by expedia, however I would say that 2-3 is more accurate. Despite the hotel sign saying 3star outside, the rome city tax is priced as 3euro pppn not the 2euro it should be for 3 star hotels. Having said that, we did enjoy our stay in rome greatly, and the location of the hotel was perfect. The old style of the hotel was not to our taste (as a young couple). Les mer

This hotel was an absolute disgrace!! We had booked it over the internet (a big mistake) thinking that we were booking a quality four star hotel and instead got a totally substandard dirty hovel of a hotel. We picked up the key and were directed to the first floor next to a room with a yapping dog!! We immediately realised that this hotel was going […] to be poor. We went downstairs to complain and were then directed to another room on the same cramped floor just a few doors away. We could still hear the yapping dog, the door to the room didnt fit properly, the room was no more than the size of a shoebox, dark, dank and extremely dirty. We were so disappointed. There was no tea or coffee making facilities no fridge. The bathrooms was small and smelt of bad drains, there were a few unappealing soaps on the small old sink unit. No separate shower just a shower head that didnt work properly. Tepid water. The rooms was below standard and reminiscent of dirty budget hostel. The whole hotel felt run down and in disrepair. Totally disappointing, would not recommend this hotel at all. If you are thinking of booking this dont!! Not worth the money a complete rip-off. We paid way too much and dirty beyond belief. Air conditioner in our room was being worked on when we arrived. We were offered a free drink while we waited a few minutes. We were offered a smaller room or a room at another hotel or we could wait till later to see if it was fixed in the original room. When we returned, the air conditioner had been fixed. Rooms a little small but then again we didn't […] go to Rome to spend a great deal of time in the hotel room. The shower door was missing making it a little awkward to take a shower. The hotel is tucked away on a quiet street. The location is close to all major attractions and shopping. We were very pleased with the breakfast selection. I had read mixed reviews about his hotel before booking it. Upon arrival I thought that I had made a mistake in booking it as there was an electrical problem when we arrived which meant we couldnt check in. The staff however were very friendly and explained that if they couldnt resolve the problem then they would accomodate in a sister hotel however […] the problem was resolved. Our room was plesant enough but not to a 4* standard but the friendliness of the staff made up for this. The location of the Hotel is good and there are enough bars and resteaurants in the area. There is a small resteaurant accross from the hotel which has excellent food but is quite expensive. Les mer

Nice, quaint little hotel, on a cul-de-sac, so don't have all the traffic noise of main streets. Great location, close to many main sites, easy access to and from. Rooms and esp. bathroom a bit small, but manageable. Would stay there again (although not necessarily cheap these days given the dollar to the euro.).

We loved our stay at Hotel Bolivar. The location is excellent, being a block off a major street meant easy access to sites without the noise of the busy street. It is tucked away in a little cul-de-sac with a fantastic little restaurant across the street. The room was a little small but very comfortable, the breakfast was great with scrambled and hard […] boiled eggs, bacon, etc. We would definitely return to this hotel again. A small hotel tucked away within easy walking to Trevi fountain and most other sites. If you are lucky to have a room on top floor they have small patios attached that make the room very appealing.

Teh Hotel Bolivar is located very centrally in Rome. It is on a very quiet street - really a dead end. teh rooms are very small, even by European standards. But, it was fairly clean, though it could use some updating. The staff at the front desk was helpful in recommending local restaurants.

Having looked at lots of photos of this hotel I was anticipating a room that would be of a good standard. The room we were given was ok ... functionable at best. We soon realised that all the rooms on the first floor were not of the same standard as the rooms on the other floors and that are room was probably just a standard room and the others superior. […] When we were booking we were not given a choice. The actual location of the hotel is fabulous; near to all the main sites and it is in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. The breakfast room on the roof terrace is lovely and there is plenty of choice and enough to enjoy a good breakfast. All in all, the hotel is good and I would recommend it as long as you get booked into one of the superior rooms. Les mer

We booked the hotel with two other sets of friends so we could be in the same hotel. The hotel had some issues with power on one of the floors so they could not accommodate all of us. One of the couples were given the grossest room I've ever seen (think seedy no-tell-motel complete with stains) while two of the other rooms were re-booked into another […] hotel over a mile away. The hotel we were re-booked to was still under renovation and did not have a working elevator which might not have been bad if we were not on the 5th floor. The point of booking was to be in the neighborhood together to make meeting up for meals and tours easier. Overall, it wasn't a great experience and was very inconvenient. There was no attempt to contact us early in the day so we could make other arrangements or to move our entire group. I realize there are things beyond the hotel's control, but a little effort and an apology would have been nice. Les mer

First time in Rome I was apprehensive and when the cab pulled up in an alley and the driver said thats it, i felt ill but this quaint lttle hotel was so warm and inviting it was a joy to stay there, from the conceirge to the house maid and the brakfast lady they were brilliant the breakfast was great sittting on the roof top breakfast room surrounded […] by history was such a thrill. The hotel was well situated and appointed, but difficult to initially find as it is located on a sidestreet. But it's location within a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum and near the bus lines make it an ideal location to explore Rome. It is only a short stroll from the Trevi fountain. The concierge services were exceptional. Requests were responded […] to within minutes. The staff were extemely helpful in providing directions and assisting in arranging airport transportation. Their suggestions saved my party time and money during our trip. They were also very willing to store our luggage after check out until we were ready to depart for the airport. The buffet breakfast provided by the hotel offered a wide variety of beverages and an extensive selection ot breakfast items. All of the offerings were attractively presented and tasty. The buffet location, on the top floor of the hotel, provided an attractive and relaxing location to enjoy breakfast and start the day.. The only thing lacking was washcloths. But this seems to be the norm rather than an exception in 4 star European hotels. Les mer

The room itself, while we were barely in it, was a little outdated and had an old room smell to it. The service was prompt and friendly but there's a hole in the middle of the foyer that I nearly broke my ankle on. The hotel is on a quiet block and is only a stone's throw away from Piazza Venezia and a 10 minute walk to the colosseum. Hotel Bolivar was a very comfortable and relaxing hotel in the heart of Rome. It was a bit difficult to locate at first as we walked from the subway station, but being tucked away in its off the street location is what made the hotel very relaxing as there was no street noise at all. All of the must see things in Rome were within walking distance. Just […] around the corner was a nice Irish Pub that had many different draft beers and was also very relaxing (Corks Inn & Pub). The room was comfortable, with good air conditioning. Bathroom had a tub and shower, but was a little tight, otherwise all was good. Breakfast was on the top floor and had a good view. Although a little confusing to find at first, the hotel was really well situated - between ancient Roman sights Trevi fountain. It was quaint and small with very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good up in the dining room on the 3rd floor. The rooms were small, but clean and air-conditioned, and the bed was comfortable. nice hotel and near to bus for sight seeing. flloors were linoleum rather than carpeting which i saw were said to be soiled in previous comments. hotel is clean good breakfast.. staff very helpful. elevator available also.

The hotel would have been difficult to find without booking the airport shuttle, which is considerably cheaper than any other method of reaching the hotel. the hotel was clean and beautifully decorated with marble and gold everywhere Our bedroom was beautiful and on the ground floor because of my bad knee. The bathroom was more than adequate though […] the plumbing left a bit to be desired. The location was superb for access to the colloseum and the Trevi Fountain and the open topped tour busses pick up just around the corner. The tour busses run every day from 9 till 9 and take a different route on sundays So if you buy a 48hour ticket and include sunday you will get the best value. Overall a great trip but not reccomended for anyone with duff knees of feet. You finish up crippled. Les mer

Great hotel, location, rooms. Exceeded expectations. If coming by taxi have a printout of location as some cabs have trouble finding the place (despite it being only 100 yards off a busy street). Location good as walk to Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Colliseum, etc...
