"OK, But a Bit Pricey for What You Get"
The room was nothing special. The service was typical (except they have free valet service, if you’re into that). Room service breakfast was nice, but very expensive (a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit cost more than the steak dinner we had the night before). For the premium price they charge, it really should be better. We stayed in one of the standard […] rooms, the suites might be nicer. "Really...."
I began my visit on a poor note even before I showed up to the hotel. I booked the reservation because my boyfriend had a week leave before he serves our country in Afghanistan for a year. I made a reservation through this site and when my boy-friends dates for leave changed, I called the Hotel not to change anything but to extend my reservation for […] an additional night. Unfortunately the lady who answered the phone would not even let me explain this to her and instead told me she could not change anything about my reservation because I booked through a third party. At least let me explain what I want before telling me you cannot help me. The night I checked in, there seemed to be plenty of gentlemen in the lobby sitting in chairs but none of them could help me get my bags or box to my room. I explained to the front desk why this stay was important to me and my boyfriend, but for some reason this did not help in any way. The room was in a quiet location, but because I eventually extended our stay by calling again later in the week, housekeeping was not informed of our extension. They not only knocked on the door several times, but walked in on us, and eventually told us we needed to leave because check out time was noon. Not only did I get up and go down to the front desk to ensure this did not happen, but we told every housekeeper that came to the door we were not leaving and they still insisted we had to leave. The nerve to tell us we had to leave really made me mad. Makes me wonder not only does the front desk not talk to housekeeping but does housekeeping talk to housekeeping. This hotel had the opportunity to not only make this an amazing weekend for me and my boyfriend, but to make it the hotel where we share all of our important moments in life. All I can say is you failed by turning what could have been an amazingly romantic getaway into making us feel like we were an inconvenience to the hotel. "this place is not a high end hotel"
We stayed under the impression that they were 4 stars and we very surprised to find out that the staff has never heard of turn down service. In fact the people answering the phone were incompetent and borderline rude. Questioning why I needed more shampoo, really? 4 stars huh? Then the restaurant there, horizons is NOT FINE DINING. I had the perfect […] pair which was a filet with crab cakes. the filet was served with gravy on top that tasted like it came out of a can, the potatoes were raw. They were unable to make recommendations on their wine list...seriously a joke. This was not fine dining, it was a sad attempt. If this hotel and restaurant want to be a real high end hotel they need to first off fire their staff or train them to understand what fine dining is and what turn down service means which by the way they don't have that. They also do not have movies on demand like most hotels. They had basic cable and one hbo channel... just lame. The only good thing there was the spa which was their saving grace. I recommend stay somewhere else and take a drive to go there just for their spa, skip the rest. Les mer
"Everything butI the lighting"
All was great except 1 thing and that was the lighting in the room. With all the lights in the room on it still seemed Dim. Overall ... I would recommend it to anyone! Beware... it will make you set your standards high.
An accidental find. We were trying to find a hotel in Buffalo and couldn't find anything decent so tried Rochester just as we were approaching it and it sounded good so we tried it. We were on our way to Buffalo's Walden Galleria on our way back home to Toronto. The mall right near the hotel was a thousand times better than Walden Galleria. "From Rochester, but moving...."
We always wanted to stay at the Woodcliff, but being from Fairport and then Penfield, it seemed silly to spend a couple of nights there. We had that opportunity recently as we moved from Penfield to Virginia and needed to stay somewhere one night. We decided on the Woodcliff and were not disappointed! We hope to be able to spend a few days there later […] in the fall when we come back to Rochester to visit family and for my husband to do business. Loved, loved, loved the Woodcliff! Les mer
"Woodcliff Hotel Perinton NY"
I can't say enough about the friendliness and efficiency of the staff, especially the guest services and the restaurant and bar. Speaking of the restaurant, the food is amazing especially the duck and the fresh fish. Between the 9 hole golf course, spa, gym, pool and wonderful restaurant, this place can be a mini vacation.
"Woodcliff Hotel and Spa is a must in Upper New Yor"
We really enjoyed our stay. With the golf course attached to the hotel, you just went out the front door to play. The spa was very cost effective and superb service. We were only a couple of KM from great shopping and restaurents, alto you had to drive, there was a shuttle that we did not use. Overall a great experience.

"Not a 4-Star Hotel--Maybe a 2-Star: Caveat Emptor"
Woodcliff is not a 4-star hotel (although it likes to think that it is and advertises as such). If you reserve your room using hotels.com, the hotel treats you as a non-entity and second-class customer. Although your money may reserve a room, the hotel will not guarantee what type of room, number of beds, bed types, etc...so beware. I reserved a "Queen […] Deluxe" room, which was advertised to be a suite with two queen size beds. To my surprise, the hotel gave me a single king bed and a sofa. Since I was traveling with my family and had two teenage daughters, we needed the second bed. It took until 3:00 a.m. for the hotel staff to locate one roll-away bed, bed linens, and extra towels. Needless to say, we did not get much sleep that night. Broken desk lamp in the room. No ice machine on any floor. Drunk partiers congregate outside the hotel lobby door in the evenings. Very small shower (about the size of a small closet). The hotel has valet parking only--you must either wait considerable time for someone to bring your car to you or hike a considerable distance to get it yourself. The hotel is difficult to find--especially in the dark. I would not stay at this hotel again--even at a discounted price. Les mer

Although the Hotel was very nice and beds were amazing, it wasn't perfect. They placed us in a Handicap accessible room, which did not have a bathtub... and our floor did not have an ice machine. Other then that, it was a fine place to stay and get away for a night or two.

Very pleased with our stay for the Victor High School graduation. This was out third stay and should we need another hotel in the area, we will return.
"Pretty view, needs updating"
The hotel location is perfect and the view is nice. However, for the outward appearance, the expectation is a little more high-class than what you get. The bed was comfortable, but the decor and bathroom are a bit outdated.
This is a very busy hotel that caters to groups and conventions. The staff is very helpful but because the hotel is so busy, there can be delays in various types of service. Breakfast is free with only some rooms and is otherwise quite expensive. Because of the hotel's remote location, there are no alternatives other than the Starbuck's in the lobby […] where you can get a danish or bagel. Les mer
"Problem with our room at the Woodcliff"
We have stayed at the Woodcliff and always enjoyed it. To our dismay, we had a very bad situation this time. When we went to our room, a wet washcloth was on the sink counter, the bed had been slept in and the room had not been cleaned. We were so tired we set our things down and then quickly noticed the room had not been taken care of. We called the […] front desk and they moved us to another room (an upgraded room). However, it took almost 20 minutes for them to make the change and come up and get us. After the way the evening started, it was unacceptable for this change to take so much time. We will go back to the Woodcliff because we enjoy the hotel and the location. However, this visit was certainly not as pleasant as others have been. Hopefully, it was an aberration and our next visit will be more enjoyable. Les mer
Woodcliff is in a beautiful location, and the views from room looking over the surrounding countryside and golf course is very nice. The staff is simply great. I never came across a staff member who didn't have a ready smile and kind word, and all of them were very helpful. The restaurant and bar are very good, as is the food. The only quibble I have […] is that the room, although generally clean, didn't reflect the other qualities of the facility. The Hotel was fine, room was clean etc, the trouble is that we got there at 1:00 AM and left at 7:45 AM, so not much time to review or take advantage of any facilities.

"Fantastic stay"
We have three kids all under the age of 4. This can be difficult but this hotel was extremely helpful and accommodating to us. The pool was well maintained, a little too much cholorine. The valet service was fantastic. They helped us get all of our belongings up to the room and made sure we were completely settled before leaving. We would highly recommend […] this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Rochester, we will definately stay there again! Les mer

An oustanding hotel with excellent service. The taxi driver said that it was the best in Rochester and I have no reason not to believe that is true.

Overall, the room was fine and convenient for a local event we attended. Downsides- although we requested a room with a view and king size bed since we were staying for 3 nights, we had a view of the parking lot and two doubles. Hotel itself was great - very clean and classy. Food was a disappointment. Didn't have what we ordered, then pork was undercooked at dinner. Room service breakfast was overpriced for the actual items - english muffins were not toasted, and eggs that were requested over-medium came out extra hard! "Outstanding Hotel"
We only stayed one night while in town visiting family, but it was a wonderful experience. We were able to utilize both the indoor and outdoor pools and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable, and the room cooled quickly with the AC unit. The only problem we had was in the very beginning, we were assigned a particular room […] (with a really nice view overlooking the pool) and discovered that the room was already made up for someone else. When I brought this to our bellhop's attention, he immediately called down to the front desk and had our room changed. It was quickly resolved. We would definitely stay there again if we are in town. "Needs improvement"
There was construction near the outdoor swimming pool. This made the outdoor pool not useable. The air conditioner in the room had to be fixed as it was making a loud noise. The door handle to the bathroom was broken and had to be replaced. This hotel was surely not even a 3 star hotel. I have stayed in many 4 star hotels. This was not a 4 star hotel. Indoor […] pool was old and dirty. They were also setting up a tent for a wedding reception , and they started at 7:30 saturday morining waking many people up. Les mer
