The hotel is anonymous in the front, but appeaers modern and fresh, with a nice roof terrace. Will definetely use it again

Hotellet er et veldig bra utgangspunkt for å oppleve Madrid. Alle større severdigheter ligger i hyggelig gangavstand - f.eks Plaza Mayor, Prado-museet, Reina Sofia, Puerta del Sol osv.

Et veldig fint hotell til en rimelig pris. Det ligger meget sentralt, og ble nå et av mine favoritthoteller i Madrid. Rommet er noe lite, men rent, moderne og trendy. Litt lytt på rommet, men ikke plagsomt. Shopping i samme gate, og i parallellgaten. Metrostasjonen (Callao) ligger rett over gaten for hotellet. Anbefales!

Great room and location near all downtown sites, WIFI still a problem , if they fix that they are good to go.

Very close to main sights of Madrid and many metro stations. Easy to walk to all sides of town, many food/drink options nearby. Rooms are a little small, shower is very small (I'm 6'2" and barely fit) but it's still a decent room. Very cool city view from the roof. Go walk the city for the day and come back here to crash. Although the Vincci Capitol is an iconic building in a perfect convienient location at the center of Madrid's Grand Via, the hotel is worn out and was very uncomfortable to us. The entire hotel building had the heat turned up way too high (despite the warm sunny weather outside), so we were sweating in our room all night long- even with the window open. […] The room thermostat was useless and the room never cooled down. The bed mattresses needed to be replaced and had a deep diviot from where people sat up in bed. The decor was tired, dated, and worn- everything seemed like it needed to be refurnished or replaced. On the upside, the Vincci Capitol is in the perfect location, was amazingly quiet inside, had a decent bathroom, and the city views can't be beat. Les mer

MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT USE THE INTERNET NEAR THE TV it is not free. There is a hidden jack behind the bed somewhere or so I am told that is free. Room is above size for the European countries I have been to, but small by American standards. Very modern, plenty of power jacks for the gadget people like me(2 iPads,2 iPhones, 2 laptops) and everything you […] might need in a room. Staff was very friendly, and generally helpful navigating the city. Had forgotten a internet cable so got one from the front desk and they said the jack is near the tv. What they did not say it that it was the 19e a day jack and not the free one. Not much noise from conjoined rooms or traffic. Was close to anything I needed in town and was more then was expected of a hotel overall. Les mer

Vincci Capitol is the perfect place for a first time visitor to Madrid looking for a nice place to stay at reasonable rates. It is a stone's throw from Callao metro station, centrally located, and safe. There are often a number of homeless people in the surrounding area but we never felt threatened. For being in such a busy area, the noise at night was minimal. Great central location (walkable from Gran Via and Calella metro). BUT hotels.com description somewhat deceiving.. yes there is a spa, but it costs 32 euros per person!! Also there ISNT free wifi as described. So it was very reasonable when we booked but literally you are paying for an admittedly nice room in a central location and no other perks. it was a nice surprise, located in gran via. price was half the price other hotels charge you in that area. it was an excellent choice. clean, newly renovated. very good choice.

Just spent a great weekend at the Vinci Capitol .good sized rooms but very warm good variety of food for breakfast lots of fresh fruit mostly adults would stay again

Good service, good location. But the hotel is in urgent need of maintenance! poor quality of TV, Channels change when you move in the room. Bad working air conditioning; the walls around the window are falling apart !. Holes in the walls. Sheets were itching all night. I stayed in Vincci Capitol with my boyfriend. We really enjoyed our stay and the room was very beautiful and roomy. I still have two complains. First is, that in our room we had two twin beds (we requested for one king size) and every night we woke up in the middle of the night because the beds had moved apart from each other. Even when you just tried […] to sit on it, it moved a couple of centimeters. That was rather annoying. Another thing that annoyed us was the hotel staff. Mostly they were very helpful and kind, but some of them were rude. We both are in our early twenties and it seemed to us that some of the staff was maybe even a bit offended by us "teens" being in a fancy hotel like theirs. It felt like they didn't take us seriously. Anyway I would recommend this hotel for everyone! You are able to walk everywhere and even the heart of Madrid, Puerta del Sol, is maybe 300 meters away! Very good restaurants nearby and lots of shopping. If you are annoyed by the noise coming from Gran Via, take a room with a window that's to the inner court. We had it that way and we didn't hear a thing! (except our neighbors - the inner walls are quite thin) Les mer

Across El Cayo subway station, the best spot if you want to be near Plaza Mayor, San Gines Churros. Other places....approx. 10 min. walking for San Miguel Market and 5 more min. to the Palace. Good hotel to stay, this time we had one of the rooms which are located parallel to La Gran Via. More spacious.

This location was great and the hotel blew me away with the looks and elegance. Everything, but one thing was awesome. That one thing that was disappointing was no wireless internet. There was wired internet but was useless with a tablet pc with no network cable input. For a hotel of this scale which to me seemed close to 5 stars, the wireless part […] really brought down the quality for me, especially because we relied on the internet to plan locations to visit and routes. Even the cheapo 3 star hotels I stayed in europe at had wireless internet. If I had a laptop, the hotel might have been better, but I would not have the comfort of a bed to relax and do work on a laptop. Les mer

If you like to spend your stay under the cover with your favorite hot blooded friend... this is your place. I had a superior(?) room, with a non working jacuzzi and a non working heating... well it worked but took 5-6 hours to get a little warm and since the housekeeping of course shuts it down... it will be cold again when you get back from shopping. Corridors […] and room were dark, together with the broken curtain (couldn't open OR close properly) and the dark furniture it feels even smaller than it might be. Small flatscreen tv and no hooks to hang your coat sets the finishing touch to this experience. You will spend most of your time on the town when booking here. Les mer

Great location, and staff was very helpful. By metro and great restaurants. Very clean and great bed only negetive was the air conditioning was not the best Still overall well worth the value.

Pros - can't get a more central location with all Madrid sights within an easy walk, sun terrace is amazing for catching some rays after a walk around the city, rooms were always well cleaned. Cons - We were not advised before our stay that we had building work going on right next to our room and only discovered this at 8.30 on the first morning of […] a 4 night stay. The lighting system in the room is rediculous and not able to just switch on the bathroom lights in the middle of the night. The bathroom was nice with a shower over the bath and a stand-alone waterfall shower but you cannot use this one as the door to this does not close and you end up flooding the floor (when we told the manager about this he said he was aware of this as it was a problem in many of the rooms but and advised us just to use the small shower over the bath). When we asked for extra towels to mop up the flood we had in our bathroom after the first shower they never came and we had to ask agin for this to be sorted. The lifts are extremely slow, which isn't very handy when on the 7th floor. The bed was not that comfortable. Personally would not stay here agin. Les mer

This hotel was modern almost to the point of being retro. It's on Gran Via which is a main street with lots of shopping. It's also conveniently located near a a metro stop and in walking distance to Plaza Mayor and Sol and even the Prado museum if youre willing to walk a little but father. Also the lights are really difficult to figure out and the bed lights don't do much. The beds were pretty firm but that's expected in Europe. It was fairly comfortable and convenient. Les mer

This hotel is ideally located in the centre of Madrid with easy access to all business, shopping and night-life. The rooms are a little small for the price, but in general a great base for exploring the City.

This hotel was on Gran Via, right next to Callao and near so many of the sights we wanted to see in Madrid. We walked to the Prado, the Palacio Real and the Plaza Mejor, the Plaza D'Espana and so many other places. Lots of cafes and wonderful places to eat were close by. The staff was helpful and a tourist information office and the Metro were less […] than 1/2 block away. We did not eat at the hotel because there were so many delightful places to explore nearby. Our room was spotlessly clean and everything worked well except the lighting. It was such a problem. Somehow this high-tech lighting system managed to keep the room in semi-darkness most of the time. The switches were maddening - we could not seem to simply turn a light on and off; lights in different parts of the room were linked together, so that if you turned on a light in the bathroom, a reading light over the bed illuminated. It was very frustrating. I could not figure it out and finally just gave up - hitting every switch until something worked that I needed. Other than this very exasperating lighting situation, it was a great hotel. Les mer

This was a very nice hotel with great views of the city. Very new, clean, and great staff. I would stay here again. No free breakfast or workout center though:(

Hotel was in great shape, next to metro stop, and also right in middle of shopping district. Great place to see alot of activity in evening. Highly recommend this hotel. Staff friendly, helpful. Rooms modernized. Nice air conditioning. Good tv with English, German, Spanish stations. English stations are news only. Bath had shower and bath, but watch […] out the shower door doesn't have a seal, so floor gets flooded - no big deal. that's what the extra towels are for - cleaning staff must get tired of it though. The hotel is not allowed to have irons in the rooms. What hotels.com does not tell you is that you have to pay around 6-7 EUR for each article that you need pressed. For a week long trip, that is over 100 USD. Second, due to the leaking shower that caused water damage to the cheap laminate wood floor, I cut my foot walking into the bathroom. This hotel is located next to everything you could want in Madrid. It's in Plaza Callao. Next to several metro stations. Next to all the shopping, sites, restaurants and night life. The facilies are very well kept. The rooms have nice decor and are very comfortable.

The hotel is located a 5 minute walk to shopping and Plaza Mayor. The area is ok - there are a lot of homeless people and prostitutes in Madrid and around the hotel but I think you'll find that in a lot in the busy areas. Hotel staff was friendly but some didn't speak english very well or even at all. Be careful with the internet - when we checked in […] we were told there was high speed internet in the room and they provided us with an ethernet cable. There was an ethernet setup near the tv which we thought was the connection we were suppose to use. When we tried accessing the internet we had to pay 17 Euros/day. After two days of paying for internet we double checked our reservation which said that the internet was free and spoke with reception. There's a plug in near the curtains that gives the free internet! The hotel refunded the two days of internet so there were no issues - overall would recommend this hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable, nice size and the location was good. Les mer

A business hotel in a great location. It is Madrid, so earplugs may be needed. Hotel somewhat tired and not maintained all that well. (a floor lamp in the room was clearly broken with the shade dangling but not looked too by the staff for the 2 days we were there. Also reading lights over the bed did not work.) Very pleased with the hotel overall. It's in a great location on Gran Via, right next to Callo metro station, and most of the tourist sights are within walking distance. Walking to Cheuca took about 10 mins! We had a "standard room" and the rooms were nicely decorated; modern and very clean. Very nice bathrooms. The bar has a lovely view of gran via […] and was nicely decorated. We also used the spa, which is amazing because you can hire it privately so that you can completely relax. My only complaint would be the lighting system... Each switch contained a number of buttons, and by the end of the stay I still wasn't sure how to use it. It was also very annoying for my partner, who was subjected to bright lights in the room every time I turned the bathroom light on in the middle of the night! Overall however, we had a great stay. close to the main streets with all the shops

I loved this hotel. The location was great and just in the heart of Madrid. Very Modern rooms and excellent service. Highly recommended. Also don't forget to check out the patios at 7th floor for views of central Madrid and the 9th for views of north of the city. Highly recommended hotel.

Good location and nice style but... The modern room styling was a good idea but poorly executed ie. the renovation work is very poorly done. The list of broken, unmaintained or poorly designed iems (eg. tiny shower that floods straight onto the floor, chipboard used which swells up with water, mirrored benchtop next to the sink which gets covered in […] soap/toothpaste splashes, etc) is huge. For a modern hotel, the place is falling apart. I won't be staying there again. Les mer

I just came back from Madrid and had a great time. The hotel is right at Plaza Callao of La Gran Via, and it couldn't be at a better location. The room we got was not really big, and even though we asked for a non smoking room, we could tell that the smell of smoke was there, but taking into consideration that unfortunately everyone and their cat smokes […] in Spain, we sort of expected that and were not tremendously surprised that he room smelled a bit. Great location adjacent to Metro and walking distance from most important sites. Some modern hi-tech features in the room where at the beginning a bit distracting, like the very modern light switches or the AC that was activated with the rooms card, or the save that worked with a coded card, but at the end it was a modern and comfortable place to stay. […] The room was very spacious and the bathroom was, for European standards, a large bathing suite with many extras. Make your reservation w/o hesitation – this is a Nice, modern – European style hotel. With a Very friendly, helpful staff. I have asked for a glass of ice and was given a whole flower vase of ice… Came in at 10 o’clock, asking for an early check in, they gave me a room as soon as it was available… ahead of regular time. It’s just the way they are – […] willing to do so much to please their customer. Our windows were looking at Grand Via; nevertheless, it was quite and comfortable inside… I saw a comment from some previous customer about noise, it’s not true. Center of madrid close to all metro stations and must see sights.

It is an OK hotel. Nothing spectacular. I reserved a NON smoking room and what was given to us??? a smoking room! horrible! and we had to stay there one night because "the hotel was full". that part was terrible...other than that...it was ok.

The hotel was a real find and true value for money. The location was perfect close to the buzz in Old Madrid and the Gran Via area.

When the cab brought us to this hotel we were worried because the neighborhood looked poor. But he had taken us to the back door by accident. This hotel is very nice and in the center of all the areas a tourist wants to see in Madrid. The Metro stop is less than a block away and so is Starabucks! Shopping is everywhere and the hop-on-hop-off bus is […] within a few blocks also. Brunch at this hotel is very good and the dining room quite elegant. The room and bath were very nice as well. Vincci Capitol was a nice standard hotel. It's nothing fancy nor with any outstanding amenities. However, if you're looking for a comfortable, nice, modern room in a hotel that's close to everything then this is definitely the place. I went to Madrid with a friend of mine for vacation, we had 2 double beds which was perfect. The bathroom was a great […] size also. What I really loved about Vincci Capitol was how close it was to everything. We basically walked into all the sites that we had planned to see. Les mer

The hotel is definitely a four star. It is centrally located in the Center of Madrid on Gran Via and surrounded by all the things we wanted to see in Madrid. The hotel staff was excellent and attentive to our wishes. We have already recommended this hotel to friends that are visiting Spain later this month. J&E from Somis

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Their English was very well. The metro was right outside the hotel, which made it very easy to get around the city. Our view from the hotel window was outstanding. I would stay again!!

We researched many of the hotels in Madrid and chose the Vincci based on the many good reviews we read and we were not disappointed. Not very good with our Spanish, the staff was very helpful and there was no difficulty in translation. Our room was excellent - clean and orderly with most of the comforts you would expect from a respectable hotel. The […] beds were a little stiff, but comfortable nonetheless and the room was a little warm during the day, but plenty cool in the evening. On the upper floors were two lookout points were you could get a wonderful evening view of Madrid. We were only in town for one day, so the location was excellent. There are many, many sites to see, great restaurants, and plenty of shopping only minutes away. We would definitely stay here again. Les mer
