The hotel staff is super nice. The location is quiet and conveniently close to the light rail. The rooms look like they could use new carpet though. But the bathroom was remodeled, super clean and even the towels smelled nice and fresh and there were lots of them. The only thing I didn't like was that the shower head was too low. for 3 digits plus per night I'd have expected more. this is a Motel, not a Hotel - Doors on the outside. :-( bad form. really seedy neighborhood... wish I'd have know about the "other 3 star" hotel about 1/4 mile away that I could see. was a better brand, and looked to be MUCH cleaner.

Layout is more "motel" than "hotel". People walking outside the room could be heard clearly inside (I thought maybe the window was open). Minimally maintained, peeling wallpaper, notes stapled to the wall in the bathroom.

Badly maintained, bugs in the rooms. Carpets are stained and the workout room is a joke. Wireless Internet access is sporadic and varies throughout the day. Dining room is next to bar area which is very loud. Swim in the pool at your own risk !

I had to change rooms 3 times. two rooms were missing light shades, 1 smelled like smoke, one did not have a working phone or power. Then need to knock this place down an start over. Hotels.com took care of everything and made it right. the Clarion group did nothing. I changed hotels.

The room was clean and the staff was helpful. Free breakfast is always good and the bar was a good place to unwind after a day of work.

At this time I would not recommend this hotel to anyone nor would I return. I probably would not visit another Clarion. I left an article of clothing behind and contacted the hotel the day after to confirm. Melissa from the hotel confirmed the item was there and let me know I needed to speak to the manager to get my item returned. I have placed several […] calls to the manager, Steven, and so far have not heard a word back. This is poor customer service. Les mer

The Hotel is nice and clean, the grounds are very well maintained, it is a great location to everything, all the freeways local resturants and shopping. This Hotel is the best value in the San Jose area Price best for your money in the entire area

All of the rooms have motion detector lights, which I found annoying, especially since we were in a handicap room. The lights went off on me in the shower a couple times, and if you plug your cellphone in on the plugs on the desk lamp they will stop charging if the light goes off. The main draw for this hotel was the free breakfast buffet. Waffles, […] french toast, pancakes, sausage, eggs, potatoes, yogurt and cereal every morning with choice of toast or bagels. Free coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning was also nice. It was a little sad that we only got two tickets for breakfast per room, instead of the number of guests we had in a room, but we just ate there until we were out of tickets and then had breakfast down the street the last couple days. Bedding was nice. Thin down duvet with at least four super squishy down pillows on each bed. It wasn't a five star hotel, but it was pretty clean and comfortable overall. Les mer

We were only there overnight for an early flight in the morning, shuttle service was great, they were right there. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. I would recomend this room to anyone.

My husband and I stayed at the Clarion before an early morning flight. It's close to th airport which is convenient. The pictures showed a nice looking bed with a comfy white bedspread....modern enough. I hate staying at places with polyester bedspreads with mosaic designs on them and thought I was escaping that motif. Unfortunately the bedspread was […] the only modern design in the room. The Hotel was more like a refurbished Motel 6. The bedspread changed but the curtains still showed remnants of the 1970s. The curtains did not keep out the bright light shining in the walkway all night either. The T.V. was also decades old and the rest of the decor matched. I felt like there should have been a coin operated bed vibrator on the night stand. I give this place two stars for the location being close to the airport and having savvy advertising skills. The hotel was good, suitable for my needs. onsite food was good, and the bar was lively.

Clarion Hotel San Jose Airport is a clean ok hotel. The city closed the pools to all the hotel in San Jose do to the small amount of rain (I was told) so I did not get to use the great looking pool. The bar at the hotel was fun with live music.

The included breakfast buffet saved my company time and this place is close to the airport. Clean comfortable rooms and friendly staff. I will keep coming back to this place!

Great value hotel - small and unassuming, but nicely appointed room. Free wi-fi and hot breakfast included an an already reasonable rate. Convenient location for SJC travelers and business visitors.

very nice room and very clean hotel, also has a restaurant bar inside the lobby of the hotel, the food at the restaurant is awesome and the staff is very friendly. The only problem is has no stores, restaurants or shopping centers close by, but it's indeed very close to the airport. Overall is a very nice place for the price...

We had a nice room, but when we first booked the room I asked 2 make sure that the room had a micowave & refrigerator since I was traveling with 2 infants that needed juice & milk refrigerated...we arrived everything seemed fine until we arrived into our room; there was no refrigerator & no microwave, couldn't call the front desk because the phone had […] no dial tone, they brought us the micro, but forgot about our refrig. 2 hrs later we got our refrigerator...everything ended off great. The location is great - minutes from the airport and hotel staff regularly pick up guests there. The rooms are ok. But hotel corridor floors are filthy - grimy and sticky. The configuration is such that there's no escaping noisy, unruly guests in the hallways at night. - and no staff to help carry bags if you want to move. Clothing merchant was permitted tol set up shop - complete with hanging dresses right in the lobby doorway, sol you had to crawl around it to get to your room. The worst was the food - ie., complementary buffet breakfast that's included and greasy appetizers at bar.Pancakes are like cardboard and literally convex. Toaster malfunctioned and burned bagel on one sife and left other half uncooked.. Fake, cold scramblebled eggs fell into tiny pieces.Then staff upbraids you if you leave uneaten, lousy food on your plate. With the exception of one desk clerk who was great,staff generally was unhelpful and rude. Insufficient complimentary newpapers.Then literally no one is if charge on the weekends to hear concerns. f ree 24-hiour coffee is nice. Les mer

Conveniently located to San Jose Airport with shuttle service.

Older hotel that has been refurbished. In pretty good condition inside the room. The design of the hotel is the old 2 level motel design. The walkways, stairs and approaches to the motel rooms are dated and not refurbished. Reasonable price for accommodations.

The staff at the Hotel was very nice. Lobby was clean. The Hotel Store didn't have any Advil and was very limited in what it carried. My biggest concern was that the hotel is more like a Motel, all the rooms doors are exposed to the outdoors so there is no security except your hotel door.

I would never stay again. Poorly lit rooms hard to get to and everything in the room was 15 years old. I think sj state is using part of the motel for dorms. I'd stay anywhere else if I had to fly out of sjc again

We found it kind of hard to find at night. It's right next to another hotel with a similar name with a rather small sign outside. We like the little touches of real glasses and ceramic mugs. Two queen beds were unexpected and rather lavish. Breakfast was more than adequate. Quite a good buy.

In town for one night for a concert at the HP Pavillion. The Clarion was exactly what I was looking for. Clean, comfortable, not out of my way, and a delicious complimentary breakfast.

Clarion, San Jose, enter the 21st Century. I sat in the lobby for 2 hours, until 1:30, because, yes, rooms had been cleaned, but, no, how could they possibly know which rooms had been cleaned until they were given The List. They knew I was sitting there waiting, and even after they had The List they didn't notify me. Someone there needs to go to hotel […] management school. Les mer

The Clarion was amazing. I found it with ease and was very impressed with it when I first drove up. I was checked into my hotel within 15 minutes and up in my room. They dont have a elevator and my bags were heavy. Being a 5'5 petite girl the two gentle men at the front desk were more than happy to bring them up for me and they did no questions asked. […] Continental breakfast in the morning was DELICIOUS and so was room service. The pool was ALWAYS sparkling crystal blue. Though the towels were a bit small for my taste other than that the pool was perfect. The hotel is literally in the middle of EVERY attraction you could need to go to in San Jose. I went to the Museums, Raging Waters, The Winchester Mystery House, and a local spa and never drove more than 4 miles. Downtown San Jose is within 3 miles as well. It's the perfect hotel to stay at if you want some luxury, class, relaxation, and quiet during your vacation. As well as if you want something that's close to EVERYTHING you need to do in San Jose. Room was clean & comfortable. The front desk service wasn't great, the guy didn't tell me where my room was so I had to go find it on my own.

The room was at the end of a walkway. Noisy people in the hallways. Curtains did not cover side of windows so you could see in. Above the door there is a metal accordian like window opening and it lets in all the noise. Front desk does not answer their phone. On last day there, in the morning, there was a bug in the bathroom.

The location of this hotel is very close to SJC, the room is adequate (although showing some age) and the breakfast was sufficient. However, the Wifi connection in the room was TERRIBLE - very slow & unstable. Our room was just 10 feet from the office, so I can only imagine how much worse it would have been in a room further from the office.

Decent older hotel, the rooms were clean and the pool was nice. There is a restaurant in the hotel for dinner and you get a voucher for breakfast, which is OK, not great. The desk clerk asked me if I wanted a parking lot or pool view. I opted for the pool view. The room I was given faced a solid blank wall. Some pool view! Also, other guests were very noisy outside my room at all hours of the night and early morning.

It wasn't all that comfortable and it wasn't that clean either. The matteres is horrible. For breaktfast you only get 2 free breakfast and for kids under 12 get in free.

This was one of the worst hotel experiences I've had in awhile. We paid a nice amount for a room that was not particularly nice and was treated poorly by management because we purchased our room online, as if we should not receive the same service as other customers. The hotel was loud at night until late, and our new clean towels in the room were wet! […] Although the breakfast selection was good, the hotel did not seem to have enough help, as food and plates were left all over the dining area with dirty tables. We had to wait awhile to actually eat as new food was being prepared after we cleaned off our own area to sit down. The young lady at the front desk was repeatedly rude and we had to call her manager.. we would NOT recommend this hotel at all. Looks nice but its not!!!! Les mer
