Vi var alt i alt fornøyde med hotellet. Det hadde fin beliggenhet i forhold til severdighetene, restauranter, Plakaområdet, offentlig kommunikasjon og shopping. Takterrassen med utsikt til Akropolis var flott. Frokosten var ok. Sengene på rommet var gode å sove i og rommet i seg selv så greit ut. Imidlertid var rommet vårt litt lite, en ekstra seng […] vi ikke hadde bestilt tok opp mye plass, vi hørte noe støy fra trafikken utenfor og badet var dårlig isolert mot lyder fra tilstøtende bad. Hotellet har glimrende beliggenhet i forhold til transport (Monastiraki stasjon), shopping (Ermou gaten og sidegater) og restauranter (i Plaka området). Det ligger bare noen hundre meter fra inngangen til Akropolis. Hotellet har en flott takterrasse med bar og uhindret utsikt mot Akropolis. Hotellrommene var ok, men badene var nokså små. Vårt rom […] var litt dårlig støyisolert mot gang. En god frokostbuffet var inkludert i vår rompris. Under den første frokosten kom en av hotellets ansatte uoppfordret rundt og ga nyttig informasjon, råd og tips ut fra hva vi ønsket å gjøre i Athen. Les mer

We spent 3 days in Athens and chose this hotel based on its location, which is perfect. Most sights we were to see are within a walking distance, including the Acropolis. It was also relatively inexpensive. Breakfast was great, and the staff was very friendly and service minded. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.

This was an excellent hotel. Diminutive rooms, but with everything we wanted. Fantastic having the lounge open for tea and coffee during the day, this is such a boon to the tired traveller. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely staff in the kitchen and housekeeping. Only slight annoyance was the wifi. Advertised as "free"on Trip Advisor, but in reality only one […] hour is free, and that's per stay, not per day. Puzzling, as we stayed four nights, and thought we deserved a bit more. One hour a day would be a good compromise, but unlimited, like most hotels now, would be better. But we loved this hotel, and would have extended our stay if the price hadn't gone up about 30% in the interim. Will book it again if possible, but might do it in one-day bookings, just so we get free wifi every day! Les mer

Great location. Reasonable price. Hotel staff friendly and glad to assist with directions, cab reservations, etc. Good buffet to start the day. Roof top patio with spectacular view of Acropolis and cityscape. Metro station is only a short walk. Plaka shopping at your doorstep. Highly recommend.

We stayed at 3 hotels in Athens and the Plaka is by far the best. The rate wasn't as cheap as the others but I know why. This is an above average hotel with a superior breakfast included. The breakfast alone is worth 10 Euros each. The location and view are amazing. This would be my fist choice in this price range.

Great location in the heart of Athens. Great roof deck view of the Acropolis...be sure to check it out. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were very satisfied with the hotel location, very close to the Plaka (market), Acropolis and other significant sights. We were able to walk everywhere. The picture on the website showing the Acropolis from the hotel roof is very accurate, and very stunning to see. The buffet breakfast was complete with hot and cold dishes including scrambled eggs, […] sausages or bacon, beans, cold salad and fruit, yogurt, cereals, coffee, tea, cappuccino, juice - everything we wanted. A very helpful local tour guide is available in the breakfast room each day to suggest walking routes, answer questions. The room was updated, very clean, however the bathroom was dated but still clean. We wold recommend the hotel and stay there again should we return to Athens. Very good value for the dollar. Les mer

Ideally situated, near Metro station on direct line to airport, within walking distance of Acropolis and Syntagma Square. The rooms are not large, but comfortable and spotlessly clean. The buffet breakfast is generous. Only niggles were the small lift and the free wi-fi being limited to 25 minutes per stay (not per day) with a 2 Euro per hour charge […] after that. The view from the roof of the Plaka (where there is lots of seating and a bar) is one of the world's greatest. The Acropolis cannot be see to better advantage from anywhere. The rooms are spartan, but immaculately clean and perfectly adequate. Breakfasts are good, with the world's best yoghurt. They close tomorrow (11/17/2011) for renovation and should […] be even better. If you want luxury, this is not your hotel. If you want the other things I have noted, this ought to be your choice. Normally my husband & I stay in hostels, but thought we would treat ourselves on this trip. The price was very reasonable & after staying at the Plaka I have to say it was so worth it! The rooms are very clean & very comfortable. Every morning there was a breakfast buffet that had a decent variety of different things to eat. Small European style 3 star hotel with a great location. Lovely breakfast room with ample breakfast. Only stayed one night as we were in transit. Excellent location for tourist sites but a bit inconspicous when trying to find it first time. Not cheap but worth it for convenience to attractions and transport systems when time is limited, (4 minute walk to monisteraki station with luggage) . Good facilities and pleasant helpful staff.

Very convenient location, especially if you are visiting Athens for a short while. The surrounding area has plenty of restaurants and the Acropolis is walkable from there. The hotel itself provides affordable no frills accommodation. Some staff was very helpful (a lady came around at breakfast armed with maps and advice, which was very useful) but the […] congierge service was of variable quality & helpfulness. Overall, would recommend the hotel on the basis that it is very good value for money in terms of location and price. Les mer

Small, wonderful hotel close to major sights in Athens. Certain amenities were wonderful such as free coffee and tea in the afternoon. Also, there was a small split of wine waiting upon our arrival. The rooftop garden offered a spectacular view of the Acropolis, especially at night with the lights.

We recently travelled to Athens, supposedly for 2 nights, en route to the Ionian coast. Unfortunately, due to my Husband's hospitalisation, my stay at the Plaka and the sister Hotel, Athens Central Square Hotel, was extended to 12 nights. This hotel is located close to the train stations and is also close to the acropolis and all of the sights that you will want to see to the south. Our rate included a full breakfast with some spectacular Greek yogurt that we will miss dearly. The rooms were clean and everything was perfect. I have only good things to say about Hotel Plaka. Our flight was delayed into Athens due to strikes. When we arrived at the hotel at 2:00 a.m., a staff member was ready at the front desk to help us. During the next two mornings, two different staff members in the breakfast room mapped out routes for us, gave us transportation instruction and recommended […] other sites to see. my friend and i read a few not very nice reviews of this hotel prior to making our booking but i am very glad this did not stop us making a booking at the hotel. it was lovely. not overly fancy but good value for money. clean and very central to the Plaka district of Athens. bathroom was on the small side but plenty of room to do hair and make up […] ect. a breath taking view of the Acropolus right out side the door and from the roof top bar. the reception staff were very friendly and the cleaning staff always seemed to be around the hotel cleaning something. Athens was my third last stop on a long holiday in Europe and the Plaka hotel was of a far higher standard than many of the other hotels i had stayed in, in Italy, Austria, London, Paris and Switzerland for around the same cost. i have recommended the hotel to a work mate who has since made a booking for later in the year. Great location, right in the heart of the Plaka district, very nice breakfast, I can recommend the yoghurt. Nice rooftop balcony, with a bar service that opens around 5.30pm. The rooms however were tiny, or at least the room we were in was, 501. We were only staying one night so decided we didn't need a flash hotel as we were about to be spoilt on a […] cruise ship, but wasn't expecting quiet so small. The bathroom in particular was tiny. Never been in one so small, seriously, my wardrobe at home is bigger. Must admit the location was good and it was reasonably priced so I guess you get what you pay for. I asked for an iron, but was told that the only iron they had was out and they would contact me when it was free, which they did, but only one iron for a hotel with 30+ rooms. Les mer

Excellent location ..the view on the top floor patio is unbelievable! Staff very nice..we had to leave for our ferry boat at 0600 am and they had the breakfast bar open for us Would recommend hotel to friends and family as well my husband and I would stay again if we should visit Athens again!

The service was excellent. There was interest shown in anything we requested and fulfilled: an Acropolis view, help in location of my wife's scooter so that it was easily accessible, request for charger for shaver and plug for scooter and finding of information about the lift at the Acropolis, even taking the time to copy information from the computer. […] Little things, but they were done without feeling that it was an imposition. We were asked if our room was satisfactory and we were comfortable. The female manager and her daughter took the time to say that if there was anything they could do, let them know, a warm gesture not usually found in many hotels. They even followed up on a wake-up call in case we missed it. The breakfast buffet was varied and quite adequate for a good start to the day. The level of high standards make this one hotel I would certainly recommend. Clean, comfortable and in an excellent location for The Plaka area of Athens. A pleasure. This hotel was booked on the internet without previous knowledge. A great find! Les mer

The price is right that the location is perfect!! As a solo traveller this hotel was the perfect place to stay in Athens!! The surrounding neighbourhood was safe with lots of convenient shops and restaurants whilst away for the noise. The staff was wonderful and extremely helpful. great hotel, close to all the sights, with a great choice of restaurants close by. We found the service was great, hotel staff were very helpful. Best of all was the rooftop bar for viewing the acropolis as it lit up at night. The breakfast that was included in the price was wonderful.

Plaka is a great hotel that is right in the middle of downtown Athens. One warning - the rooms are very small but that is pretty much the standard for European travel. The hotel is close to everything. Walking distance to the acropolis, the main square, kolonaki, shopping, etc. Also, there is a fabulous complimentary breakfast. This is a clean hotel with a great location in the Plaka area of Athens just a short walk from Monastriki Square and the metro station. The Plaka hotel is very well located, close to the tourist sights and very conveniently located for those arriving from the airport by train as it is located a very easy 5 min stroll,with case, from the nearest station. I also stayed At Royal Olympic, the Athens Gate and the Plaka at different times in the same month all for similar prices and would […] say that the Plaka rated third. The breakfast room is not that inviting compared to the other two hotels and while you can sit on the roof area it is underutilized at the Plaka, with no shade, while those at the other two hotels is better set up to enjoy the view over drinks, breakfast or dinner. Upon arrive the hotel, check in time only takes 3 mins and the staff in the front desk is absolutely helpful. In the room, we have 2 side big windows so that we would have the street view and nice sunset view. The room is small but very neat clean and tidy. Right in the middle of Plaka. This hotel also had comfy beds and a decent breakfast buffet. Recomended.

Rooms were very small; beds were not that comfortable; front desk personnel (upon arrival)could not speak English and were not very helpful. Great location for shopping and sight seeing. I suppose we got what we paid for - next time I'll go up to a $200 / room / night hotel and enjoy the experience a bit more.

Staff were wecloming, efficient and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic! Area is extremely convenient and I would stay there again. I had an uninterrupted view of the Acropolis from my bedroom - lit up at night; a sight to behold!

Close to all sites and great service

The location was perfect. Very close to Monastiraki station and the area around it was great, lots of good dining option. Right next to the Plaka district and short walk to the Acropolis. The view from the rooftop was absolutely gorgeous a must see. Unfortunately, there is no free wifi and 2 euro per hour is not bad, better than the internet cafe I […] went to. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Fantastic location: surrounded by shops, restaurants and just a 10-minute walk to the station. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially Tonya who did everything in her power to make our stay all the more pleasant. The breakfast was delicious and contained a varied selection.
