Rooms are nice, staff is friendly. The area is very quiet, it's hard to find some conveniences such as stores, restraurants etc., especially on the weekend.

Room felt dirty, out of date. Barely slept because the lack of working AC. Non attentive staff, given multiple different excuses for lack of air. Highlight of the stay was La Musique Restaurant.

We love this hotel. Use it every time we come down to stay overnight for a baseball game. Short commute to the stadium and the staff is super friendly!

The hotel management were helpful and the room was facing the Main Street which made the stay more better. Location is walking distance from all the things one person would need.

The building itself has potential. It does look run down despite a sign saying it was newly renovated. Windows were not clean, dust throughout the hotel and especially the room. The neighborhood is not the best and because there is a lack of safe parking you are forced to pay $20 a night to have your vehicle parked behind the property. I was told there […] was validation for parking but when I checked out I was told that was incorrect and was forced to pay. For the price, even at a discounted rate, the cost was not justified. I can honestly say, I will not be staying at the Hotel St. Regis again and I will deter others as well. Les mer

I was in town for a quick break between trains. The hotel is a super-quick walk to the Amtrak station, which is why I picked it. The service was friendly, though I asked for a 5:00am wake-up call (to catch an early train) and the call didn't come until 5:30. Room was fine, coffee was good. The ambiance of the hotel is very good. It is close to the Amtrak Station but miles away from downtown and the Greyhound Depot. Neighbourhood is a mixture but good and not so good. It is just a street away from a frequent downtown bus service.

The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. The hotel was well kept and clean and the room was comfortable and close to the casinos we were visiting. Overall it was a great experience and I plan to stay there again when we visit Detroit.

This a a grand old hotel that has been renovated somewhat recently. Our room was nothing out of the ordinary but much nicer than the age of the hotel would lead you to believe. The windows are not that efficient but closing the blind keeps the sun, draft and noise at bay. The bathroom has been completely remodeled. It would have been nice to have a […] mini fridge in the room but ice was close by. iPod docking alarm clock and wifi worked fine as well. The restaurant didn't get a high score for breakfast. We were an hour waiting. It turns out that someone in the kitchen didn't show up for work that day. The waitress was doing everything as best she could but where was the management to solve the problem and explain it to the guests? Best part of our stay was the staff. Genuinely nice people, always polite and accommodating. I'd certainly stay here again but the food and bev team has some work to do before I'd eat here again. Les mer

Lobby and restaurant are beautiful. Rooms comfortable and updated, except for old tub and loose door. Quiet, safe, very close to main attractions downtown. Valet parking quick. Hotel is attached to New City Center w/Detroit Donuts and also attached via enclosed bridge to Cadillac bldg.

We stayed for one night to attend an event near by. The stay and everything about the hotel was just fine. Its close to Wayne State and the Motown Museum. The surrounding neighborhood does not offer many restaurants on the weekends. Overall the hotel has good quality of service. Thanks!

The location of this hotel is the only reason to stay here. It is so close to Henry Ford Hospital and it's offices. We checked in on New Years Day and found upon check in at 4:00 pm that the restuarant was closed until the next morning. We had to order pizza and have it delivered to our room or venture out to find a restuarant in downtown Detroit! Not […] what we two women had in mind. When we went up to our room we found one bed instead of the two queens which we had a reservation for. We had to call down and have our room changed,which was fine. The new rooms heating system was not working properly and we could not get the temperature below 72 degrees even with the heat turned off!!! It was a very warm night. The continental breakfast which was included with the room was very basic but worked. Again this could be a great hotel with someone to give it some TLC! Les mer

Hotel needs major renovation. Everything is old and worn out. Carpets, walls, even bed sheets are dirty. The staff, however, were friendly and helpful.

We don't travell much. We usually look for cheaper hotels. We are retired and on pension. I travel more than my wife, Have attended a few conventions in Toronto, London, St. Catharines, Midland, Niagara Falls, Windsor, Sarnia and in 2011, I was in Nashville. These hotels are usually at the high end, Royal York, Hilton, Marriott, Best Western, Holiday […] Inn Suites. Have also stayed at Super 8, Comfort Inn, and just plan run down hotels. All we are looking for in a room is something comfortable and clean. For the size, I found the staff very professional and curious, food in the restaurant excellent. My wife usually doesn't say too much about the food, but she said it was the best she ever had. Best sleep she has had for some time. He had a kidney removed 2-1/2 years ago and doesn't travel well or sleep because of the pain. Les mer

We arrived Detroit early in the morning. The lady in the front desk permitted an early check-in, which allowed us a better preparation for a busy day. The hotel is about 10 minutes away from city centre by bus. You can take bus 53 to city centre. The bus stop is only a minute away from the hotel. The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. I liked the total, it was really good value for money. The free breakfast from 6-8 am sucked really hard though. It is impossible to get around if you do not have a car in Detroit, so rent a car! Do even bother to walk around or take public, you might get mucked!

Convenient location close to Amtrak station (5 minutes walk) clean room, friendly and efficient staff, would book that hotel again.

What this Hotel has going for it's location (solid location in Detroit with great window views and other buildings interconnected to it. Do not mistake it for Starwood's St. Regis though... I was satisfied with this hotel experience. Check-in was simple and room was clean with comfy bed. Valet was efficient, I called ahead for them to pull my car to front and they even had engine running to heat up car on cold morning. Room service was also great.

I needed an inexpensive place to stay while in town for a family function. Having always loved the St.Regis as a child it seemed like the obvious choice. I booked the room and then read some pretty nerve-wracking reviews but decided to stick with my plan to stay. I'm so glad I did! Everyone was so helpful, from the front desk to Don, the valet. This is my second stay at Hotel St. Regis. I've been pleased each time that I've stayed here. The room is always in good condition, with up to date amenities. I think that the service was excellent, the people were very friendly and overall I enjoyed my experience. I do think that they should serve a better breakfast, especially for the price.

Rate was great for the area, only 10 minutes from downtown casino area, and has great food onsite with a CVS a half block away. My only beef with this place, and it's a personal issue, is valet only parking- if I'd have been in a rental I probably wouldn't have cared, but being in my own car I refuse to relinquish my car to anybody, even my wife! :p Other […] than that, it's clean, secure, and the police station is even a block away, so it's as safe as you can be in Detroit! ;) Les mer

I stayed for 4 days and enjoyed myself. The only down fall was that the only parking was Valet.

Staff was careless, rigid and helpless. I got a room with defective heater, it was working all the time with high speed fan. My room was very hot, and I asked to send maintenance to repair the heater and they just said ok we will send for six hours and after shift changed they change my room. There are no refreg.
