Hotellet lå sentralt til i Barcelona, rimelig pris og veldig god service. Hotellbetjeningen snakket bra engelsk, noe som ikke er vanlig i Barcelona. Rommet var av god størrelse og inneholdt alt man trenger for en weekendtur. Sengene er ganske harde, men for et par netter er dette ikke et problem. Hotellet ligger rett ved et metro stopp, noe som er veldig nyttig da man med metroen kommer frem til de fleste steder i Barcelona. Anbefales!

Hotellet ligger sentralt til i forstaden til Barcelona, med kort vei, 100 meter, til nærmeste buss-stopp. Turen til Barcelona tar omtrent 30 minutter. Undergrunnsbanen, med meget god kommunikasjon til Barcelona, kan nås etter omtrent 10 minutters gange. Du ankommer sentrum etter 20-30 minutter. Betjeningen på hotellet er hjelpsomme og tenker løsningsorientert, noe som medførte at forespørsler ble effektivt behandlet, til beste for oss. Vi hadde et trivelig opphold, og kommer gjerne tilbake til samme hotell.

Gamlebyen i Barcelona, Ciutat Vella, omfatter både Barri Gòtic og den verdensberømte promenadegaten Las Ramblas. "Helt OK"
Hvis man er interessert i å være nærmest mulig de andre turistene er dette et godt alternativt, ligger midt blant turistattraksjonene. Jeg har vært noen ganger i Barcelona og forbereder heller å bo litt i utkanten av det som er mest turistifisert - for å få en mest mulig ekte katalansk opplevelser. God frokost og små sjokolader på hodeputa hver kveld […] trekker opp. Bodde på enmannsrom - helt OK standard, utsikt mot bakgård. Snittalderen på de øvrige gjestene var relativt høy. Les mer
Hotellet lå veldig greit til. Nær serverdigheter og sentralt. Vi var veldig fornøyd med oppholdet der. Betjeningen var veldig hyggelig og serviceinnstilt. Vi spiste middag på hotellet siste dagen og maten kan anbefales.
Det eneste som var å sette fingeren på, var frokosten. Den var relativt dyr. På minussiden var den varme maten: vond, søt eggereøre, ikke så gode pølser. På plussiden var rikelig med variert frukt og nypresset appelsinsaft. Forøvrig var det et meget behagelig hotell. Mulighet for god middag på hotellet, selv om den også var noe dyr.

Hotelet er midt i blinke for de fleste. Når det gjelder shopping, Kataderalen i front av hotellet og Dali utstilling 200 m å gå fra hotelet .......... Bra plassert med god service, og hjelpsome staff..! Anbefalst sterkt...;0)

Hotel Colon ligger svært sentralt til, rett bak katedralen i Barcelona i det vakre gotisk kvarteret. Kun 5 minutter til La Rambla, mange shoppingmuligheter i området og kort vei til f.eks. Picassomuseet. Hyggelig kaffebarer i nærheten der en kan spise frokost, eks. " La Taverna el Bispe" eller amerikanske " Starbucks". "Gammel slitt storhetstid"
Hotellet har en gang vært grandiost og flott. I dag er det slitt og fremstår som gammeldags. Uten internet, ingen aviser tilgjengelig eller generell info omf.eks været som man regner på 4-stjerners hoteller.

Colon var et greit hotell å bo på. Det lå svært sentralt og det betyr mye.Hyggelig betjening og god service. Det er et eldre hotell og det var vi klar over på forhånd. Vi spiste frokost på hotellet et par dager.Frokosten på hotellet var god , men den var dyr. Derfor valgte vi noen dager å spise frokost på små hyggelige kafeer som lå like ved. "Besøkt hotellet to år på rad"
Vi kom til hotel Colon for andre året på rad, og visste på forhånd at dette er et veldig bra alterantiv. Hotellet har en helt perfekt beliggenhet med Cathedral de Barcelona like ved. God atmosfære, og trivelig å sette seg ved uteserveringen som hører til hotellet. Rolig beliggenhet samtidig som det er sentralt. Personalet på hotellet var svært serviceinnstillt […] og hyggelige. "Overhyped"
Hotel decor was very dated, carpet needed replaced--it was visibly worn in many areas--and the bed was very low to the ground. We staid at Grand Hotel Central, also in the Gothic area, and were much happier with our experience there. Granted, Hotel Colon was less expensive.
"The Hotel is in a good location"
I really enjoyed my stay at this Hotel. I had an early arrival and was allowed to check in. The Airport Bus stops about a 15 Minute walk from the Hotel and I used the Bus to get back to the Airport. The Bus leaves every 5 Min. in the morning. The Hop on Hop off Bus stops less than a 5 Min. walk away. My room was quiet. The Staff speaks English. The […] in room safe doesn't hold a regular Computer but there is an additional Safe in the Lobby that will handel the Computer. The free internet worked fine. The only thing I wish my room had was a more comfortable chair and the shower could be a little bigger and some more space to lay down the toiletries. I had one issue with the safe but it was quickly taken care of. I would recomment the Hotel and would stay there again. Les mer

What a wonderful hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and all spoke English. The hotel is in the middle of the best part of Barcelona -- walking distance to La Rambla, the port, Catalunya square, and more great tapas places than we could count. I definitely recommend it. One suggestion for light sleepers is to reserve a room on the non-Cathedral […] side of the hotel. While we had a beautiful view of the Cathedral from our room, the square on which the hotel and Cathedral are located can get pretty lively on weekend nights and we had people drinking and singing until 4 a.m. Definltey recommend this hotel. A beautiful hotel situated on the Barcelona Cathedral Plaza just blocks from Las Ramblas. Wonderful sidewalk cafe to enjoy a great lunch and people watch. Lots of activity and fun on the plaza all day and evening. Well situated for all sightseeing.

The hotel was in a perfect location to Las Rambles and Gothic center. If staying for a few day you'll enjoy the safe atmosphere. Great location, convenient for all the sights (the Barceona tour bus stops just beside it). Single room was surprisingly big, nicely decorated, quiet and clean. Staff were friendly and attentive. Can't fault it.

This hotel is right across from the cathedral in Catalunya Square. A really lovely hotel and spot. We couldn't get the air to work too well but did not ask for help. Price was great for an upscale hotel in a great spot. Would go back again;.

First stayed here about 45 years ago. Still a nice property and an ideal location. Front desk just a bit "cool" and too quick to give short answers to questions. Perhaps they were over worked. Would go back again. Would recommend The Colon.

"Excellent Position"
Great that hotel was situated in a square opposite a cathedral, without passing traffic. 5 min walk to The Ramblas, where life is a buzz! Can walk to Casa Batlo in half an hour. Service in hotel wonderful, very clean and efficient. Love the old world charm of rooms with french doors, shutters and our own balcony.

Very good hotel, friendly and helpful reception staff. I think it is the best location in Barcelona. Good varieties for breakfast. Decoration of the room is a bit tied, but it not much bother. Bathroom is big with supply of toiletries ( even toothbrush). All american movie are in Spanish. I would stay there again.

Wonderful, welcoming staff. Easy checkin. Greeted by doorman who helped with luggage. We were about an hour early for checkin but our balcony room was ready upon our return from lunch. On a previous trip we stayed at the other Colon property and it was very nice but this trip and stay at the Hotel Colon exceeded our expectations. We were there for 3 […] nights. I was in Barcelona for a conference near Plaza Espanol and choose to stay at Hotel Barcelona Colon near Plaza Catalunya. The location was within 3 metro stops from my conference site. The metro station was 5 minutes walk from hotel. The site was great for site seeing after conference time. The hotel is just opposite of the Catedral and provides a nice […] ambiance if you want to enjoy the activity of local and tourists. The Hotel Colon fronts a large and lively pedestrian plaza, across the way from the Cathedral and the old Roman fortress. It is very convenient to public transportation, and just a short walk to Las Rambles. It was a great place to stay!

This hotel was terrific-great location, very comfortable and a view of the cathedral. A bit old fashioned, but very comfortable and quiet. Parking was available nearby and so was the bus to the airport.

We loved the surrounding area and although it was in a busy plaza, it did not have the throngs of people we saw in some other areas. The tour bus stop was a block away (very convienient) It is a traditional luxury hotel. Very satisfied!

"Gently Worn Grandeur in Great Location"
Location was fantastic--we got to see traditional dancing with live music in the plaza late on Saturday afternoon plus the line up and start of the Corpus Christi parade on Sunday afternoon just because we were staying right on the Cathedral plaza. Our room was a bit worn, but charming, roomy and clean, The bed was very comfortable. Slept well, in spite […] of being right next to elevator. Staff at front desk was very helpful and responsive to any request. I don't remember if we had the option to get breakfast included. If you are offered that option, note that full breakfast bought in the hotel is 18 Euros. However, coffee alone (as much as you like) is only 2 Euros. Continental breakfast is probably somewhere between. After paying the full amount one day, we then went to plan B, buying coffee only, finding a breakfast sandwich at a nearby little hole-in-the wall and filling up on inexpensive fruit from the huge market on La Rambla, just a few minutes' walk away.
