Hilton San Diego Del Mar - Del Mar

I've stayed at this property in the past so was familiar. The staff is extremely well trained and caters to one's every need.

We have stayed at this hotel before and we really like everything about it. They are very friendly and they will shuttle you to most of the restaurants in the area as well as the Del Mar Fairgrounds! If you feel like walking for breakfast, there is a Denny's right next door to this hotel. This is a great hotel!

Have stayed here before and enjoyed it, things change. Hotel was under going a remodel and the pool was closed. This was not mentioned on the website. We travel often with our dog, I was very surprised by the amount charged for a pet friendly hotel (very expensive compared to others). Parking fees-very expensive and was not disclosed to us until check […] in. Being close to the fair grounds I am sure that parking of non-paying clients can be of concern. Clients staying the night should not have to pay for parking (at least not the amount charged). People not staying in the hotel should pay for parking. Beds-Those are the smallest Queen size beds I have ever seen-seemed more like double beds. Cold water faucet at the restroom sink was loose-whole handle and pipe moved when you turned it on. Les mer

Everuthing was nice except for finding a random used comb under my pillows.... Strange! Tim was very nice. Was not happy with the vending machine holding $10 on my card for buying a water.

I was only disappointed in the fact that as a guest of the hotel I had to pay for parking.

I would not recommend this hotel until they undergo a renovation. The room had torn curtains, evidence of mold in the shower tile, a badly worn king sized mattress/box spring and poor maintenance. Upon arriving at the room, we also found that the bathtub would not drain properly and the light bulb over the tub was burned out -- two issues that I believe […] should have been reported by room service and fixed prior to releasing the room for guests. I especially appreciated the free wireless internet!

Hilton has been busy diluting their brand and this is no exception. Facilities were clean and well appointed with friendly staff the hotel is located next to I-5 which is very noisy all night long. Turning on the air conditioner made loud noises like an old Motel 6. I will be careful next time to check location before booking.

surprised to see the Del Mar hilton literally right off of the 5. Was hoping to have access to Del Mar village and the beach - not the case though not far from a driving standpoint. Probably a good place if you want to go to the track but otw, not the best.

Beautiful Christmas decorations! It was like a home away from home over the holiday.

We were there for Christmas andcannot were very suprised there isenjoy a awsome light show just across the roadbest at thethat racetrack.The room was better than expected! ! Very nice with a huge bathroom! !!! We had the southern California pass and was perfect location for zoo and Seaworld. A must stay!!!

Tired property. Worn carpets. Excessive surcharge per night for parking. Nasty looking swimming pool. A total disappointment. Worst hotel stay of the past 112 months. Avoid like the plague.

I have stayed here several times and every time I come back I notice an improvment, this trip I noticed the landscaping at the front of the hotel..the drive up area has been totally redone and looks awesome.Great helpful,attentive staff...what more could you ask for. Nice enough... but paying 17.00/day to park is stupid. The staff was nice but not super helpful. The location was great close to beach's tons of eateries.

The hotel was nice and location was very convenient to everything around it. The hotel provides a shuttle service to anywhere in a 5 mile radius which is extremely helpful. Negatives of the hotel were that the shower was not properly cleaned when we arrived and that both the shower and sink did not drain properly. The breakfast buffet was good. Overall, […] a good stay. PERFECT FOR A DAY AT THE RACES.! THE HOTEL PROVIDES SHUTTLE SERVICES TO AND FROM THE RACE TRACK.

Best place to stay in Del Mar hotel vans took us to dinner and the track and picked us up after each event. Will never stay anywhere else.

Everything about the hotel was terrific with the exception of the free shuttle service. We were taken over in time for the first race but waited until all the staff was leaving the track and still no shuttle so we took a cab back. Later we asked for the shuttle to take us to Jake's for dinner which was in an appropriate amount of time but we had to […] call twice to get the shuttle to pick us up after dinner. Will definitely stay there again but will not use the shuttle. It just spoiled what would have been an otherwise delightful stay. Les mer

The hotel was very clean and quiet. Could not hear the nearby freeway due to the unique double window, keeping all noise out. Housekeepers were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a true joy with a wide variety of choices. The hotel is located close to all San Diego attractions, airport, train station, beaches and the Del Mar Racetrack. I love the hotel and the location. Staff was great, room was great, no complaints on this hotel. Overall great experience!!!

The only complaint we have is the room we stayed in was on the dark side. The bathroom was small and somewhat aged.

Great pool, quiet and relaxing.

Very nice property and convenient location to Del Mar Racetrack. Very good selection of dinner items in the bar. Hotel will be undergoing an extensive renovation later this year. Sounds like it will be even better.

This is a beautiful hotel, in a great convenient location to get into San Diego. The rooms are beautiful and clean and the front desk was friendly and helpful. Our one complaint would be the bar. First of all, service was abysmal. Had to wait 15 minutes to be acknowledged. Asked 3 times from 3 different people for water. And most annoying of all, there […] was a soccer team staying in the hotel so the bar was crawling with 10 year olds raising cain. NO parents in sight, they were all outside drinking on the patio. There is NO reason a hotel of this caliber should allow unsupervised minors to run wild around a bar. Completely ruined any chance of relaxation. Between the lousy service and the kids, 3 drinks each were necessary and we still left feeling more frazzled than when we got there. Les mer

I just spent a couple of nights at the Hilton Del Mar and have to say I was very happy with my stay. I stayed in a Deluxe King that was very spacious, comfortable and clean. You walk the halls and everywhere you look you see yesterday's food in the hallway as room service never picked it up. Switches and handles were dirty and had to wipe them ourselves. 2 valet/ bellmen and we had to handlemour own bags. Lazy workers. Front desk no difference. This was fine hotel, but more suited toward conferences than the individual traveler. The staff was helpful, but rooms, pool, food and other amenities were mediocre. Our major complaint is that it is right across the street from where the South CA State fair is held from Jun 10 - Jul 4. As a result, the traffic around the hotel was horrible! It would […] have been a great location if we had been there for the fair, but were there for a wedding in downtown Del Mar. Had a wonderful stay...staff was super nice, breakfast buffet was wonderful, dinning staff extremely kind and helpful. Hotel is dog friendly, which was fun seeing ALL members of the family get to participate in vacation! The hotel was right off the freeway which made it easy to find. The only thing that would have been nice to know before booking, that the fair was going on. When I walked in the hotel the design was nice and you can tell it has been around for a while. I hope they update it soon. I did receive a complimentary upgrade to view the pool, which was nice! This was a very nice hotel, pleasant location, great breakfast. However, we weren't aware of a local fair happening across the street. The traffic for the fair made getting in and out of the hotel on our own atrocious. The hotel staff recommended we could use their free shuttle service within 5 miles of the hotel, which was very helpful. A three story hotel with motel-like parking. Self-parking was very expensive. My room was very large, clean and comfortable. The room did not have a refrigerator or microwave. The hotel is less than a half-mile from the freeway. The San Diego Fairgrounds and Del Mar Racetrack are about a ten minute walk away. They charge 17.00 per day for parking....understandable to control their parking lot as there is the race track is nearby, but it seemed like a rip-off and feel there should be advance warning. The breakfast buffet was very good and included in the price.

Our only surprise was having to pay for self parking at the hotel. Every thing else was great.

I recently attended a conference that was held at the Hilton in Del Mar, California. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The pool and jacuzzi were sparkling! There was a great shuttle service to all of the restaurants in the area. My only problem was the flow of the hotel. I did not feel the elements came together […] to guide me to the hotel's other amenities. I still can't remember the name of the restaurant or where it was located on the first floor. There was only one elevator coupled with a maze of turns to get to it. The was not enough flowers and flora inside the hotel. This is a great hotel for out of state visitors with children. Les mer

Very nice and quiet during Memorial Day weekend. About a mile to the center of Del Mar, but the hotel has a shuttle service that will take you there and bring you back. If you are going to the races or the fair this is the place to be!

The hotel was very clean and the service was great. My only complaint is the cost of parking and the lack of complimentary internet. In this day and age it seems ridiculous and just plain greedy to charge for access to the wireless internet. It was also about $17/day to self park the car. This hotel is not in a downtown location where parking is at […] a premium. They have a good sized lot and charging that much to park is absurd. Since it is not a downtown location, a car is a must to see sights in San Diego. When you pay for a hotel of this quality it would be nice to have more complimentary services. Les mer

After our stay at the Hilton we returned home to find out we were charged $50.00 for something we have no idea what it was for. I am not happy about it and I will try and call the hotel to find out the reason for the charge. Our bill was paid in full before we got there,so there should have not been and extra charges.
