Hotellet ligger svært sentralt både for shopping og for å få sett Chicago. Personalet der var superhyggelige, og rommene var helt nyoppusset. Vi hadde rom med parkering, og dette fungerte svært bra. Vi slet med å finne hotellet ut fra GPS, og når vi sjekket inn fikk vi høre at dette var et problem for mange av hotellets gjester (TIPS: Når GPS sier at du har kommet til oppgitt adresse, men du ikke ser hotellet, kjør da rett frem gjennom første lyskryss, så vil du se hotellet et lite stykke etter lyskrysset). Vi anbefaler gjerne dette hotellet for andre!

Flott hotell i Chicago, rett ved Magnificent Mile. Servicen var bra, og hotellet har fin beliggenhet. Kort vei å gå fra Clark/Lake station (blue line), som man kan ta fra O'hare flyplass. Midt i sentrum, kort vei til de fleste beliggenheter, mange busstopper og metrostasjoner rundt for den som ikke kan gå. Anbefales på det varmeste, men er ikke akkurat spesielt billig for den som er på et stramt budsjett.

Prisgunstig hotell i forhold til størrelse på rommene og beliggenhet. Alt som er viktig i byen ligger innenfor 15 minutters gange. Grei frokost inkludert i prisen, men den burde vart til 10.00 og ikke 09.30 på hverdager. Lage køer før maten ble fjernet. Vennlig og hjelpsom betjening, men noe mangelfullt renhold. Godt isolert og lite støy fra gatene og mellom rommene. Manglet safe på rommet til oppbevaring av verdisaker.

You get what you pay for. OK if you just need a place to crash. Not well maintained. Water quality was very hard. Ice machine was either broke or out of ice. I had to BUY ice.

"Good stay...late wake up call."
Everything was fine except the staff gave us a wake-up call over an hour late which is not the way one wants to start the day. We barely made our entry into the McCormick Center in Chicago on time.

Stayed here because the price was very reasonable, but the hotel is old, and is crying for a coat of paint, security locks on outside doors were broken, drain in bath tub was not working properly, it was a great location near food, and expressway, but everthing else fell flat......

Hotel personnel was very friendly, room was clean, you can tell they are doing minor repair in bathroom,, good location right off expressway and down street from mall

"Scary night, no sleep"
We were coming to Chicago for a day and didn't want to stay in city. I reserved a room online without reading the reviews (never do that again). We get to our room and it smells like smoke and mold. The bathroom light was as bright as a night light, there was something in the fridge on the shelves and it smelled sour, there was tobacco in the blankets […] and our smoke detector was detached from the wall and placed on the TV stand with no batteries. Not to mention the bomb on the door, a little black box was duct taped to the door. There was a huge white spot on the floor that looked like human skin and you could tell they tried to cover it up with the night stand. There was a spoon in the heater that smelt like it was burning and spiderwebs in all corners of the room. Needless to say, we got a different room. We felt bad about asking for a refund and while we were at dinner we read over the reviews. Our second room was ok and if it wasn't in this neighborhood it would have been alright to stay in. First off the trash outside of the hotel looked like it hadn't been taken out in months and there was trash all over the landscaping. I was standing outside smoking a cigarette and a lady of the night came up and talked to the two men staying in the room two doors down and went in. They had two 24 packs of beer and had been on the phone with her before arriving. All night there were noises and banging against the walls, it shook the room. I couldn't sleep at all. I was scared for my life. I'm not kidding. Oh, and people really are living here, sketchy people. We were so happy to get out of there alive. These reviews are 1000000% true. Les mer
"Somewhat modern, yet poorly maintained"
Ohh boy. Bathroom, freshly painted nice color but paint drips all over the wood floor. Battery missing out of the smoke detector. No iron, which i needed for a wake I attended,website said they have a iron/board.no alarm clock, couldnt call for a wake up call because the phone was also broken.I go down to the lobby for chips and drink, the machines […] arent taking bills , walk to my car for change. I get back and the pop machine wont take my change now,and im standing there with the smallest bag of ruffles known to man that cost me a $1.25. Snow came that day,about 6" and the parking lot was halfass plowed yet the stairs and sidewalks were scary. The front dest was very polite though. Les mer
The hotel was at a convenient location, however the it was poosrly maintained hotel. The elevator was accsible from outside and the doors did not have keys to enter into the hall way. So safety was concern to us.

Hotel missing basics like shampoo and conditioner bottles, bag to put in dirty clothes, iron, etc. But it was cheap compared to others and well, it was what I paid for -- and having the breakfast was good. Overall I would stay again for the price. Not a higher price though

"bad policy"
I had to pay for a room I could not use because of a booking error. The hotel would not let me change to the next night even though they had many open rooms (I called). My pleading with the manager did no good. I work as a janitor for a living and do not make much money. The management's unwillingness to work with me was an awful experience for me. "Hotel Needs Help"
Hotel is worn and needs a face lift. Maids need training on proper cleaning: hair in tub, in sink, on towels. They need to replace their hand towels. The building looks like it's falling apart. This place would be my last choice! Certainly not the Howard Johnson's that I used to know.

I reserved three rooms. One room was short of towels. The ac was not working properly. The hotel advertised free breakfast but the waffle machine was not working. One room the toliet did not work. I had to move another room. Then move back to the room after the toliet was fixed. I will never stay at this hotel again.

I was a firm believer that Howard Johnson's hotel brands were of top quality and service. But after my weekend stay at this location, I really have to re-think staying at another Howard Johnson again. The swimming pool was closed due to lack of maintenance.. I greatly enjoyed my stay here, the only "complaint" i had was that the vending machines were all sold out. My room was comfortable, staff were friendly. and it was easy to find. I would stay again.

This isn't a great hotel, for sure, but it isn't as bad as some online reviews make it out to be either. The staff I encountered was friendly and doing their best, but it needs renovation, the rooms could be cleaner and after the first night no one made up my room (though they did after the second night). I paid a low discount rate via Hotels.com so […] for the price, I couldn't reasonably expect more. I've stayed in far worse, but I've always stayed in many of the same class that were much better. The overall hotel expierence was average. The hallway to the main office was over the top hot. We booked this hotel over a month and a half from our trip with a request for a first floor room due to physical restraints, We ended up on the second floor. We also asked for a roll a way bed when we booked. When we arrived none were available but if one […] came free they would bring it up. There was baby puke all over the elevator floor. The room itself was very comfortable. The air conditioning worked and everything was clean. It was very very small room with an even smaller bathroom. But apparently they haven't done anything to them since. What a ("censored")(Bad Place) I'm sorry, but that really is the best way to put it. I travel for a living for more […] than a decade and have experienced a great deal of bad motels , but this place is in the top ten of ("censored")(Bad Places) First, upon arrival I entered the lobby. It just had that look...door hanging open-won't close. Bulletproff glass options for late night check ins...musty and low budget all around. They first assigned me to room 105. this is next to the maintainance mans workshop/general meyham area. Well, the airconditioner was actually taken apart and laying on the floor in pieces. So we rang up the front desk. They then gave us a key to 107 (still painfully, audiblly close to the hammer drilling and grinding Mr. Maintinance Man had in mind, later, while we were sleeping after working all night. Then it got bad. You see. of course, I had to pay for this pig in its entirety, up front, lest bad stuff happens to my credit card. My first thought was, wow what a long week. Just after getting settled in 107, and following a brief coma in the afternoon, I noticed a large amount of water on the floor. So I told the front desk, and to no ones supprise, they didn't care. The room had holes in the walls, old crack pipes laying about along with candy wrapers...apparently they never actually clean it. The water rose through the week, effectively closing down approx half of the space. The bed felt like a raft, left to drift in the gulfstream. Sure I'm sprucing this up for you, the readers amusement, but trust me...This room :("censored" (applied suction)!(was Bad)! All of the events are, unfortunately, true. I was expecting a non-smoking room, and the room REEKED of smoke. The walls and doors were dirty, and the smoke alarm was completely missing, just wires sticking out of the wall. The coffee machine was gross and dirty. The breakfast wasn't much and the breakfast area was not as clean as it could have been.

When I first arrived at this motel, I had to wait several minutes for their computer to boot up so that I could check in. Then, I was given keys to a room only to find out once I reached the third floor that the key did not work. Next, I was given a key to another room that was occupied. Finally, I was given key to a room that was not occupied. By […] the way, I paid for three nights;however, each evening when I arrive I would have to get the key reprogram for me to enter the room. The last straw was when I arrived back on the second night and the room was not cleaned. The sheets were removed, but the bed was not made. As this price in Chicago, the hotel is good. By the I-80, I-90 and I-294, it is very easy to go anywhere you want.

The carpet in the room was beyond dirty, the filth was horrible, poor cleaning service, one maid said she cleans between 8am & 10am. Tha continental breakfast was a joke. NEVER AGAIN PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!I
"Truck stop nightmare!"
This hotel was horrible. There were no towels in restroom. The room was very cramped and out dated. The door lock was very unsafe. It's July in Chicago and the room was stuff and smelled like smoke ( the bathroom floor had ashes in all the corners. I would NOT recommend this hotel!!!
