Radisson Hotel Research Triangle Park - Durham

Well kept hotel. Location is great for RTP. Exterior of hotel could use some renovation. Rates are reasonable.

The food is average but the rooms are clean and very comfortable.

I walked into the hotel and was immediately shocked at how run down this hotel was: it looked as if there had not been any updates or renovations in decades! There was all sorts of tacky trinkets setting behing the reservations desk - the kind of trinkets you would see at an old lady's rummage sell. Plus, they were selling bread at the reservation desk. […] I was then taken to my room, and there was a hole, abount the size of a silver dollar in the top corner of my sheet. Plus, the sheet and comforter cover looked so wrinkles and dingy, and there was a filthy throw over the foot of the bed. So, I immediately went to get the manager. She came to the room, and simply pulled on the top border of the sheet, and it tore apart like tissue paper. I did appreciate the fact that she apologized to me, telling me that this sheet belonged in the trash, and she upgraded me to a very standard new room. The sheets in this second room was better, but it still did not feel clean. In this room. the stainless still toliet paper covers actually were dirty on top, but dirtier under, where the toliet paper roll set. Thank goodness I brought plenty of kleenexes. If a crisp, clean hotel is important to you....this is not the hotel for you, regardless how close it is to RTP. Les mer

I was hopping to have a less expensive option for dinner and breakfast. I was looking for a simple breakfast but the options were limited and expensive. I ended up paying $17+ for room service / breakfast. A coffe shope would have been be berfect!

I can't remember the girls name. I think Anita from Panama? She was very sweet.

Very nice staff, great rooms. Would look forward to staying here on future trips. Particularly pleased with the shuttle service and driver.

The only thing that was not comfortable was the small bathroom,but we made it work overall our stay was pleasant and I will recommend others to stay @ the Radisson.We will stay again on our next outting

Hotel was clean and nice, absolutely welcoming. The Best hotel in awhile..Will be back!

The only issue I had was the key would not work entering from the rear of hotel. The room key worked, but outside of that, it never worked. I had to come in through the main lobby.

Its a lovely hotel. The raddison hotel was set up for dinning and lounging. Because of its location you could look forward to a good night rest-low noise. Also the comfort was great because you were on a sleep rest bed.

I was expecting a better experience and a more up to date design and furnishings. The best parts of the hotel were the new fitness center and the waffle iron in the dining room that made great waffles. The room design seemed to be from the 80s. The fixtures were old and corroded. The bathtub was very stained and the caulking was moldy and cracked. […] The carpet looked gross. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was a sleep number bed, but I could not find a comfortable setting. Overall, I picked this place to save a few bucks. Shame on me for being cheap. I'd recommend you to spend a few extra bucks and stay at a place that was built or significantly upgraded in the last five years. Sorry for being so direct. Les mer

The location is off the main streets however the hotel staff has a shuttle that offers service to local areas. There was some construction/repair in the area. I felt very safe and would stay here again.

Room was clean. Beds were amazing! Great shower pressure. Well appointed. Very quiet. Only thing I don't recommend is the egg breakfast. Grits were instant and BAD. I would stay here again.

We ran into problems at this hotel. Finally at 11pm they called and woke us to find out if we wanted out bedding changed for no reason at all. When we went to the front desk to talk to the manager, she called all of her staff to the front and the security guard. It was not pleasant nor would we recommend this hotel to anybody. You need to reassess your rating of this hotel. It is old and in need of upgrading it's facilities. The rug in the room had a huge stain The bathroom is very small, old fixtures, tiles,grout and cigarette burns on the sides of the sink area. The refrigerator is kept on the floor despite adequate room to store it elsewhere. The hallways are very musty […] smelling that the odor seeps into the room. When I was at the mall, I bought a room spray from Yankee Candle to mask the smell. I have always been pleased with your ratings but this time- not so much and feel was terribly overcharged for this room. Forget the romance... Les mer

Staff was nice but unable to get any assistance with a problem in the room. Reported it to hotel staff and no maintenance person responded to fix the bed. A sleep number bed without any air is a hard bed to sleep on for the night! With the great number of hotels in the area I will try another hotel the next time that I travel to the Raliegh Area.

First, if you want to be close to Triangle Park - this is the place. If you want to be close to anything else, not so much. The hotel is in a very pretty setting (great for jogging!) But in the middle of nowhere. 20 minutes to dowtown. At least 10 minutes to any gas stations, restaurants, etc. The hotel setting is really strange - seems like it used […] to be a dorm or resort. Rooms arw in separate buildings like an apartment complex. The room was nice, clean, comfortable. The heat/ac didn't work and housekeeping came by at least 3 times a day to check on towels... it was a bit much. Comfortable bed, spacious room. No complaints there. I will say that I am SICK AND TIRED of Radisson having a published "eco policy" regarding towels and sheets that they BLATANTLY IGNORE, but that's a personal thing. Overall, the hotel was comfy, but for the price, I would not stay there again unless I specifically needed to spend all of my time in Res. Triangle Park. We bookwd a room 2 miles away for a friend. Her room was just as nice, she had free breakfast and her room was $25 night less expensive. Les mer

We were very impressed with this facility. We arrived late, and they picked up our party promptly at two different terminals of arrival, and they got us fixed up in the bar despite having already closed it down. The room was very roomy with nice fixtures in the bathroom. Excellent shower! We stayed here one night, then had to move to a Marriot in downtown […] because of a wedding, and wished we hadn't moved (though it was nice to be where the party was!). Location is a little hard to find but the hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable sleep number beds. If we fly into Raleigh Durham airport again we will stay at the Radisson. Rates were very reasonable.

The hotel has become our first choice for our annual trip to UNC. It is fairly close to our destination and provides a quality place to stay at a reasonable price. The Radisson has always been clean with comfortable rooms and a descent restaurant if needed. This year, we only had breakfast at the hotel, and it was a very good meal with numerous food […] choices. The only problem we had was a mistake at the front desk that assigned four other family members to the wrong building. Our room and the other two were supposed to be in the same building. Checking in at a different time, the other four members of our party were placed in a different building. It wasn't a big deal, but being the first to check-in, my wife was assured the three rooms would be together. Les mer

This is a very nice hotel. My room was very clean and ultra comfortable; loved the beds! Hotel staff excellent and very attentive. The hotel was tricky to find, even with my GPS, but it was worth it!

This hotel location was just right for our needs. Our only complaint was that the control for the Sleep Number Bed didn't work and we didn't know it until we went to bed late Saturday night. We were in a hurry Sunday and I didn't have the time to notify the front desk. The hotel wasn't at fault, I should have taken the time to let them know about the […] problem. I stayed here with my boyfriend during a weekend trip with friends for an event at Duke. The room itself was wonderful -- very clean, spacious, and comfortable -- but the location is kind of a pain. It's in the middle of an office park about a $30 cab ride to downtown Durham. We chose it because they were offering highly discounted rooms during our […] trip, but we didn't factor in the cost of transportation to and from the hotel. Upon reading the few negative reviews I'd read before going here, i was cautiously optimistic (as I am an optimist) as to how our 3 day stay would go. My husband and I both could not have been more pleased! The maid service was above and beyond with the care they took to put away my bedside things (ear plugs, glasses, etc) in the drawer of the bed table... […] folding my PJs nice and neat... laying out my brush, comb, toothbrush on a washcloth in the bathroom... leaving a complimentary bottle of water each day (we travel often and I've NEVER had that service!). We were impressed!! Also, the sleep number bed DID work and was very comfortable (which is saying a lot from me as I have a bad back), the refrigerator we requested (as it is not standard and therefore does not have a particular spot to place it) was on the floor but certainly was no problem to get in and out of, and was of no concern to what we put in it as it was appropriately sealed (as refrigerators should and tend to be). I'm sure if we had preferred it be placed up on the table that was in the room, the staff would have obliged us. There were no offending smells, the tub and bathroom overall was clean, including the shower curtain... and I absolutely LOVED all the mirrors around the bathroom and dressing area! There were 2 full length mirrors and I had no problem seeing what I was doing when fixing my hair - which is always a problem when staying in hotels. There was coffee and fruit in the lobby (which, by the way, was a very lovely lobby... with a rich marble decor), a wonderful breakfast buffet at a very good price (especailly considering all that was on it), easy access to the internet from our room, almost instantaneous service when we asked for something (such as the refrigerator and microwave - they almost beat us to the room!).. Bottom line, we had absolutely nothing to complain about. Staff was very nice... I couldn't have been more pleased and would definitely go back to this hotel next time w Les mer

The hotel needed some maintence, but we could have lived with that. What was most distressing was waking in the middle of the night to find a giant bug crawling across our heads. YUCK! To be totally fair, the desk staff promised to spray for bugs and we did not have a repeat "visitor" the second night of our stay.

The bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Nothing to complain.. will stay again.

The hotel is dated on the outside, but the inside is very nice. Rooms are good sized and well appointed. Staff is not particularly friendly or helpful. Generally a fine place to stay.

Was very satisfied. Nice and quiet. Rooms were nice. Only thing was Fridge did not work and didn't realize until it was too late. But everything thing else was great.

Our stay at ehe Raddison was awesome. We can wait to return.

arrived at midnight out the next morning at 6AM. had i had time i would have asked for my money back. old rooms and furnishings, hair in bathroom, sleep bed did not work, shower curtain black, furniture and permanent bed linens very dirty.

I would definitely stay in this hotel again. The staff was friendly the lady who checked me in made sure that I had adjoining rooms so that my family could all be together. When I asked for a microwave and refrigerator it was sent immediately. Loved the sleep number beds very comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The exercise room was […] one of the best I have seen in a hotel it is on a beautiful piece of property, the pool was well maintained and the cleaning staff very friendly and made sure there were lots of towels. Great location to the RTP. Nothing else in walking distance, unfortunately (I asked about groceries, they sent me to a Wal-Mart!!). Very comfortable, if not plush. All in all, a fine-enough hotel. The flaws were relatively small, just mildly irritating if you expect everything to be smooth: Internet sometimes didn't connect fluidly, shower leaked […] sometimes, alarm clock didn't work, lack of towels in the fitness room, cleaning crew tossed sweaty workout clothes into my suitcase with the clean ones. That sort of thing. Might have been more sensitive to those things because this wasn't a cheap room. But generally, it was satisfactory. Les mer

I have stayed at several Radisons before. The quality and service was usually quite high. This Durham Radisson was different. Clerk who checked me in was quite rude and refused to sell me a bottle of water. The hotel is laid out in a big rectangle, so you have to drive to your room in one of several old buildings. The only thing that was not good was the shower water temp. It flucuated from hot to cold very frequently. Not good but I did get clean :-)
