Great location from touchdown to anywhere in town! Very friendly and helpful staff 24/7!

Very nice, little and quiet hotel in Kensington. Very good connections to every directions. Fully english breakfast was not very good.

The room size was small, but I have come to expect this is in large cities. Proximity of the hotel to the Underground was fantastic, and the route spans central London to Heathrow. The room was clean and comfortable. There was a small patio with table and chairs backing onto a lovely garden. I would stay in this hotel again.

New, updated rooms. Comfortable bed and píllows. Sheets super clean. A few things were a little dusty like the remote control and toiletry. Other than that the room was spotless, clean sheets and towls. The staff is nice. Super close to subway

if location is everything, this is the place. Room was tiny however and the TV channel choice was poor.

We were especially impressed by the helpfulness of a young member of staff who came to our room several times in his effort to find us the right remote for the television (removed by a previous guest). A genuinely nice young man.

Ideal for visits to Royal Albert Hall within 10-15mins walk. Room pleasant but very small, but for the short time there was ok for our stay.

The location across from the Gloucester Rd tube station is great, with direct access to three lines. South Kensington is a good neighborhood, though Cromwell Rd is a very busy street. Restaurants, groceries, drug store, etc all right there. Well-run hotel with a nice staff. Some rooms are very small; I basically had a single room with a double bed crammed […] in. Hints: 1) Don't buy hotel breakfast-- same thing at half price half a block away; 2) The Change Bureau next door has some of the best rates in town for changing cash. Les mer

Ideal location to tour Central London from without having to pay for much higher hotel rates. Underground tube station is conveniently close that it makes getting around a breeze. Only negative is size of attic room - we are only average size people but even this room size is quite a challenge.

Clean and chic, nice newly renovated bathrooms in some of the rooms with beautiful alessi interior, small bedroom and difficult corridor system, but all in all a nice hotel in a good area. Only 3 min walk to nearest underground station and 15 min ride to city centre.

Came back after a brilliant stay last year when it was just refurbished. Unfortunately the cleaning staff have stopped paying attention to detail. We found a used cotton bud on the floor, a clothes tag below the tea tray, a slice of lemon in the kettle and the tea bags weren't replenished. The maintenance didn't live up to our high expectations either […] as the basin was badly cracked. We didn't pay budget price or a lot of money for the room but I'll probably look for another place for the same amount next time. Staff were extremely friendly and the bedclothes were clean. We had a quiet room and a comfy bed but the pillows weren't very comfortable. Les mer

First of all: The staff was great. Always helpful, answering questions and even opening doors for us at times (we had our baby daughter with us and thus her strolly). The location was also great. Just 50-100 meters from the Cloucester Road tube station, making it easy to get to the innermost parts of London. The Natural History Museum is just a few […] hundred meters to the East and the gigantic Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens a kilometer or so to the North. (We even walked to Harrods one day.) There are plenty of restaurants nearby. We can recommend the "Black & Blue" steak restaurant a bit down Gloucester Road. We had read a lot of reviews of this hotel before we made our reservation. I would like to comment on three of the things that seemed to come again and again: * Small rooms. I can say that our room was big. I mean, really big. A big bed, a sofa and two chairs, a desk... and still a lot of room for our girl to run around. Sure, we had the executive variant, but the hotel does have larger rooms if you want to pay for it. And our bathroom was really, really nice. Both a tub and a shower, with very high class on everything. * Noisy street. Yes, it was obvious that the Cromwell Road is a very busy street, and almost 24/7. We had a room facing that street and although the windows were highly insulated, they didn't manage to stop the low frequency rumblings. Not entirely anyway. I'm not surprised either, since bass sounds are very hard to stop. If you are sensitive to noises at night, I suggest you book a room that's facing inwards instead. * Breakfast. Since almost all reviews said that the breakfast was expensive and not worth the money, we always had our breakfast elsewhere. There's a Starbucks and a Waitrose (grocery store) practically across the street. But it smelled really nice from the breakfast room (hot toast, mmm!) when we went by, so we really should have tried the hotel breakfast at least once. I stay in this hotel as it is very convenient for travel and a great location if you have to visit famous touristic places in London . Hotel quality and cleanliness is great .

I really enjoyed this property. It was so close to the tube and it was Picadillly Line which is the line from Heathrow. It was only 2.70 to take tube to airport. Loved that feature. Staff was very friendly. I was very impressed

I stayed 2 night for the weekend and it was a single room.First I knew it would be very small room from other's review.However it was way too small and wrost thing was there is no window and its feels like staying attic! Plus there wan't internet connection! Internet connection should be included however it was not. And I asked to receptionist and she […] just told me to come to lobby instead. We were put in the basement and we were not told that wifi could not be reached here. It was one of the reasons we had booked this hotel. The room was also very small and we found small black hairs on the soap dispenser in the shower-yuck.....

It was certainly a small room, but not unusably so, and I only needed a place to shower and sleep. One block from the Gloucester Road tube station (Picadilly, District, and Circle lines), walking distance to the Natural History Museum, and a nice neighborhood overall. Bathroom was in good shape, the carpet could have used a cleaning, and there were […] a lot of scuff marks on the wall, I'm assuming due to suitcases being hauled around in tight quarters, but I've definitely stayed in worse. The hotep is clean, quiet and convenient to much of central and west London. The staff are efficient but not overly welcoming. The room is comfortable and the space better than most hotels around. The bar area is not exactly convivial to sitting around in. I would recommend the hotel.

A friend and I recently stayed at the Great Western in London and can recommend the hotel to fellow travellers. The room was small but I'm sure most rooms in London are but for location, cleanliness and the friendly, helpful staff, the Great Western is a good choice.

Had a great room, larger than I thought it would be. The position is perfect, great area and so close to gloucester rd tube. When you are tired and just want to get to your hotel it is literally across the road. Supermarket in tube complex, easily accessible as well. Breakfast expensive tho so we didnt include it.

Near tube station, staff was very helpful, room was nice but small and the local was perfect for a tourists.

First stay here. Got a good price next to other hotels in the area. Have stayed at many others in area. This hotel is very good. Lobby not that exciting. Room was newly updated in a modern style, with free wi-fi and very nice. Only had a limited room service menu and only continental breakfast served in room. A minor complaint, and not noticeable if […] you are not interested in that. Had a double bed, and one mattress, obviously the one most used, since nearest to bathroom, etc. was saggy, but other mattress was like new. Otherwise, a fine place to stay. The hotel is in a good location, convenient to reach the tube station, grocery store and restuarants. The staffs are friendly. The room is clean, nice and newly renovated. Only issue was the size of the room is too small.

Our room/bath were small but had everything we needed. It was clean, and the bed was comfortable, a/c worked well, and it was remarkably quiet for its placement on a busy road. You can't beat the location across from the tube stop, and it is near many good museums and restaurants. Staff was most attentive, and larger rooms are available at an extra […] cost. Les mer

We were given a basement room which was very small. It does have a window positioned sideways in a small corner of the room which is of no use for natural light. The bed is very hard, the washbasin is cracked, one towel had a tear in it (this was changed). I felt we probably got this room as we booked and paid in advance. Ok hotel. Room was small. Location is great. Food and pubs along Gloucester and old brompton. Try Bella italia. Tube next door. If you don't care about the room size too much then it will do you fine.

The hotel staff is friendly and efficient, and the building was recently refurbished. The location in Kensington is convenient to sites like Kensington Garden, Royal Albert Hall and the Victoria and Albert. The Gloucester Road tube station is a block away, and there are shops, grocery stores and restaurants in very close proximity. Great location! My […] only two complaints are minor: the lift only goes to the 4th floor but there are 6 floors in the hotel. The bell staff is helpful with luggage. The other issue was that my room was so tiny I could barely move in it. The bathroom sink was too small to fill up the tea kettle, for instance. It was clean and well-decorated, but I must have bumped my head on the dormer window 10 times in one evening trying to navigate around the room. Les mer

This hotel had a good location, very near the tube and easy access to the centre of London. Only problem was that rooms were small and we were shown 3 rooms before we found one that we would consider a reasonable size. Would find it difficult to stay if for longer then a couple of days due to room size.

Very clean and comfortable accomodations for our overnight stay.

We were pleasantly surprised with our stay! The room decor and cleanliness was top notch. The surrounding area is wonderful with tons of amenities. Our room was next to the elevator, but we didn't hear it at all! So quiet. Right next to the tube, and on the piccadilly line, so it's easy to get everywhere, including Heathrow airport! Yes, this is England and as long-time travelers to Europe we know rooms are generally small, but the photographs on the hotel page are deceiving; the room (or should I say closet) we had for 2, on the 5th floor, was tiny; only one person could be standing in the room while the other had to either be in the bathroom or laying on the bed. The room was […] quite clean, and the bathroom, although again very tiny, was modern and also clean. There is no air conditioning in the room and the small window opening allows for only a small amount of fresh air; not ideal for travel during the warms summer months. One person would likely find the room sufficient, but it's simply far too small for two nearly six-foot tall adults. Les mer

We stayed for 2 nights on our way home to Australia. The hotel is in an excellent location in Kensington with the underground tube station (Gloucester Road) just across the road from the hotel. It was very easy and convenient to catch the train from Heathrow airport to the hotel. There are also many quality places to dine, cafe's and supermarkets within […] a very short walking distance. The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful which helped to make our stay even more pleasant. We stayed in many hotels while we were away and this hotel was probably number 1 with quality of service. The hotel itself was in very good condition and well maintained. The room we stayed in was quiet and clean. The only down side to our stay was the size of the room. We found the room very small and after 7 weeks we had quite a bit of luggage and there was not a lot of room to put it in. The ensuite was also very small but clean and modern. We would definitely stay here again as the location was excellent and the hotel was clean with friendly staff. Les mer

The hotel is conveniently located and clean, but that's it. The rooms are excruciatingly small with the bed only a knees space from the wall. You'll be lucky if your room has a window! Lastly we had a run in with the staff who charged us additional money because we couldn't get them off the phone to get downstairs fast enough to check out.

My room was just fine, but very small - normal by London standard unless you go to a higher price category. Tiny desk and chair could barely fit. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, wifi worked and staff was friendly...
