If you can get past the smell it an ok place to stay if necessary

Was ok...rooms are a bit outdated (tv's especially), and ours had really bad color, so was hard to watch. My eyes hurt after. Chair in the room was velour, and looked & smelled sort of off...needs an update!

This Days Inn location, hotel and staff are perfectly adequate. There are some minor maintenance issues with the property and the on-site restaurant is seriously greasy and sticky, but nothing unexpected at this price point. HOWEVER--we booked this hotel specifically for the Park & Fly option from DTW for a spring break trip. Customers who are utilizing […] this option SHOULD THINK TWICE about selecting this hotel for this purpose. The Days Inn shuttles your car to an off-site location (US Park) then (theoretically) returns your vehicle to the hotel to meet you when you fly back into DTW. Our unfortunate experience was that, when we returned from a long day of international traveling with tired and hurgry teenagers (& adults), our car keys were at the hotel, but our car was completely unaccounted for. Blake at the hotel front desk went above and beyond to attempt to locate our car, but the US Park staff was not responsive or really even concerned about our missing vehicle. They did not immediately return calls to Blake or respond to his repeated calls requesting a status update. Finally, over an hour later, a US Park staffer--I believe her name was Violet--credit where credit is due...:-)--stomped into the hotel lobby, tossed our key on the hotel front desk and left without a word, not even a simple "sorry for your trouble." Rude, rude, rude. I wish I had known before booking that this hotel was utilizing off-site, shuttled parking. In the future, I will intentionally patronize only hotels with actual on-site parking (where I don't hand off my keys to strangers and hope for the best). Or better yet, I'll simply skip the overnight accommodations and just self-park and keep my keys. At least then I can count on finding my car exactly where I left it. Managers, take note: Blake, the staffer at the Days Inn was courteous and professional throughout the experience. And it's possible I wasn't kind and courteous myself. (Sorry, Blake.) Check in took forever as there was one person working the desk and she was helping two other guests try and find towels. I waited almost 15 minutes just to get her to check me in. The room was HOT, noisy and we had two towels for four people.

We spent the night before flying out . It was clean, comfortable and was decently priced. Only regrets are that we forgot a phone charger, and when we returned it was not turned in to the desk.

I appreciated the closeness tothe airport and the shuttle to and from the airport. Also the car parking service was exceptional.

This hotel is NOT rated correctly. I do not recommend staying here unless there are no other options. The staff was nice, but the facility was terrible.

This hotel is directly across the street from the airport. That is the best and the worst of it. Extremely convienient with shuttle service every half hour. Breakfast from 5-9am, we didn't go. The beds were OK. The fan on the heater sounded like a plane taking off. It was clean and in good condition.

This was your basic hotel room. Nothing special, but for the price, it was a decent value.

The great thing about this hotel is the location, right outside the airport. They have a pretty descent grill and bar at the hotel. The staff was very friendly. The room was clean enough, so overall I do not have any issues with this hotel and would not mind staying there again on my next visit to Detroit.

While the room was clean and comfortable, the midnight manager was very rude. The shuttle service to the airport was fine. However on the return trip it took over half an hour for the shuttle to arrive, the driver was rude and didn't seem to have any idea there were people waiting. Polite staff, convenient location, adequate room, "on time" shuttle.

Be ready to change rooms. First stay was fine. Second stay not so much. Requested a upper room with less noise due to a late check in and very early check out. I was given a bottom level room at the front of the building. It was noisy. Some rooms are fine some are noisy and may have maintenance issues. All the lights in my room flickered like strobe […] lights whenever the fridge kicked on. Or a plane flew by. Not only annoying but kind of worrisome because it was electrical. First stay had someone remodeling a room next door until 8 at night but the room was fine and quiet after that. A convenient location for the airport that is better than others nearby. May try another hotel if I go back again. Whatever you do dont even stop at the Super 8 down the street. Good Luck Detroit ! Les mer

Convenient location close to the airport and rental cars. Good service. I did not find any problem. However, be aware that if you have problems to sleep with noise, you have the planes flying 24/7.

The general experience with this hotel was OK. It was clean with a convenient location and pretty nice staff. The only complaint I had was an airport pickup. The hotel shuttle buses are not marked properly so one doesn't know which bus to take. Always stay here when I fly out of DTW. Location is awesome, staff is great. Just watch out for all the other people flying that have no idea how to communicate with the staff. There are just a lot of things you can not control.

The room had a broken iron and no ironing board, but a quick call to the desk and they were delivered to our room. when a key card did not work, it was a pleasant response to give a new one.

The hotel is conveniently located near the rental car companies, so it was easy to find. Over-all, it was a great stay, good breakfast.

I had stayed at this property before so I didn't hesitate to book it again because of its close proximity to the airport and free airport shuttle. I was arriving one evening and flying out early the following morning, so it seemed perfect. Unfortunately, when I called the hotel to find out about the shuttle, I was not told to look for the white Hotel […] Connections shuttle. The last time I stayed here, they had their own shuttle and I was not aware that a change had been made. After 20 minutes, I called back and was told about Hotel Connections. While many of those shuttles had arrived and left, the one that arrived right after my second call had a flat tire. The driver said another would be along in 4 or 5 minutes, but it took more like a half hour. So, I was ready for a shuttle at 11pm, but didn't get to the hotel until after midnight. Since my flight out the next morning was at 5:45, this put me in a rather sour mood. I am unlikely to stay here again - and it is all because of the lousy shuttle service they have chosen to us. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Each and every staff person made certain to smile and make me feel welcome, like he or she appreciated my business. Will definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

Excellent hotel for stay over if flying from Detroit airport. Comfortable room, good breakfast, excellent shuttle to terminals.

It was convienent, close to the airport and car rental, and a good price. They take pets and were very nice at the counter as well as the rest of the staff. A maid saw that my hands were full so she was nice enough to open the door and hold it for me. The continental breakfast was good as well.

Staff was VERY friendly-- clerks, maids, everyone-- and that makes a big difference, I think. The hotel is older and it's an airport hotel, so of course it isn't the Ritz, but the room was clean, it wasn't too loud, and the bed was reasonably comfortable. I'd stay there again. The only problem I had was that the lobby, elevator, and hallways smelled […] like smoke-- but my room didn't, so that was fine. Les mer

We chose this hotel mainly because of it's location & it's free shuttle to the airport. We've stayed at other Days Inn & have never had a problem, so when we saw the great room rate & location, it was a no brainer for us. Everyone was polite, accommodating. The room was wonderful, especially the large King bed. We will most definitely stay there again […] when we fly out of Detroit Airport. Thank You!! Les mer

Excellent location for business or anyone passing by through Detroit. Very close to car rentals. Great Bar and restaurant. Decent breakfast included in the room price

The sinks and countertops may be plastic instead of marble, the rugs may be a little more like indoor-outdoor than pile or shag, the towels may be a little thinner, the furniture may be a little dated, the televisions may not be flat screens, but for the price, you can't beat the value. The hotel engages "Hotel Connections" Van Service, free of charge […] to its guests. The front desk help and the housekeeping staff are all friendly, helpful and accomodating (including supplying toilettries to guest who are caught without). The on-site bar/restaurant is reasonably priced and has enough selection to be serviceable (no room service, but they will pack-up your to-go order, placed by phone, for your pick-up and payment). There are in-room irons and boards, hairdryers, microwaves and refrigerators, somethings you may not find in better hotels, unless you pay the premium for a suite. TWO CAVEATS: 1) This hotel is directly beneath the south runway of DTW so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs! 2) If you get placed in Room 1228, immediately ask for another room. I stayed in 1228 and was "entertained" all evening/night (until 11:00 PM) by the rather boisterous conversation of the bar patrons stepping out to the back patio to catch a smoke and enjoy a beer. The patio was directly below my window (and preseumably the window of Room 1230). Les mer

The hotel is conveniently located 8 minutes away from the airport, but the rooms were not clean. My non-smoking room smelled like smoke and was not clean. I will not stay here again.

Stayed here while doing some local business. Room was clean and spacious. People were very nice. Breakfast was simple but very adquate. Nothing fancy, but absolutely perfect unless you are looking for a really big breakfast. Ate dinner here because I was tired; people friendly and the food was as good as any of the chain restaurants. Great value.

This Daysinn is better than other daysinns. Especially, breakfast is better than others. However, internet is too slow.

Hotel is in a very good location, very convinient and they give you a free shuttle service from Airport to hotel and back to Airport all you have to do is just call when you arrived takes no more than five minutes fefore they pick you up at the shuttle olnly area.
