The woman at the front desk seemed confused, took about 15 minutes, and finally gave me my keys. Turns out she couldn't find the hotels.com booking, and instead of telling me that, just rebooked the room. I was charged by hotels.com and the hotel. I had to catch the double billing on my bank statement.

Staff were pleasant upon arrival. The actual rooms were huge with mini kitchenettes and large whirlpool tub in the bathroom. Although the rooms/hallways were cleaned there was an air of dirtiness due to the outdated decor and colour schemes.

Hotel was under construction. Didn't like waking up to power saws and sanders was no happy with the hotel at all

This place met my expectations. It is conveniently located near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and the room I stayed in was clean, odor-free, and well maintained. My only complaint was the noise-level. Early in the morning, it was a bit noisy due to construction/landscaping near the front entrance of the hotel, and at night, we could hear people's footsteps […] and doors slamming near our room. Overall, I would recommend this Comfort Inn to budget travelers. Les mer

We have stayed here each visit to Sanat Cruz for the past 12 years. This may be our last visit. Lots of work being done to upgrade the check in and breakfast area. I guess we have never stayed down stairs. Each time the water was turned on it made a screaching noise that woke me out of a sound sleep and didnt stop until they shut off the water. The […] beds were very worn and uncomfortable. They still served a breakfast while trying to remodel. The pool area is great since we travel with children. The homeless have really taken over in this area. Although the hotel is close to shopping and resturants, There were people doing drugs on the street two blocks from our room. I didn't feel safe walking and drove everywhere. Les mer

The motel conditions were very disappointing. The main office was under construction, so check-in and the free breakfast were located in small motel rooms. Check in took 30 minutes (which is 25 minutes longer than I expected). The HVAC unit and the hair dryer in our room were both broken when we checked in. The location was great, the motel was going thru renovations that was nice. Our room was newly remolded but the phone in the room nor the shower handle worked. The room smelled like freshly paint not ok when u have kids. Told manager on duty about these issues did not seem to care nor did he ever go to our room to check it like he said he would. Just painted room looked nice but the smell was awful. Had to run noisy ac fan all night. Otherwise ok for a quick overnight

Construction going on . Outside looks old and run down, however the room was really modern on the inside.

The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and we did stay in one of the recently redone rooms. Not really impressed. Breakfast offered was your typical sugar laden wheat choices. Our biggest complaint would have to be the glass block window in the room with no drapes and bright parking lot light that filled the room all night. Booked this hotel early for a good price. Location was convenient off Hwy 17 and a short drive to Beach Boardwalk. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Breakfast was fine but would have been nice if it included real sausage or eggs instead of the dry mock meat with potatoes.

do not expect a cheerful resort-style room, this is a traditional motel with dark rooms, old-fashioned air conditioning and "better don't look to closely" bed covers. Having said that, the bathroom was sparkling clean, the TV set and cable service good, and the service was excellent: good coffee and juices, good quality breakfast (did not sample the […] "fat" side of the buffet though), and plenty of complimentary copies of the WSJ Les mer

Geat location, very personable staff, lovely room, heated pool and hot tub. The bathtub drain did not work and the breakfast was a bit short on protein, otherwise a very good value and good service.

I think it was Randy or maybe Brandy really was great. We were booked in the wrong Comfort Inn but she made sure we were pleased. She assured us that breakfast would be there by 7am and just seemed to have our best on her mind. I had no other interaction but she was awesome for sure. Thanks,

Have stayed at this place several times over the years. Rooms have little fridge and microwave, and are clean and comfortable. Free wireless internet. Grounds well kept.

The worst and bad thing about this hotel is the free breakfast. Stay away from the gravy and sausage, it is NOT good. The only part of the service that was a small pain was the fact that your room keys have to be re-activated every morning. Everything else they served was exactly what it was supposed to be. Stayed here for sister's birthday, it was right off the freeway, not dumpy, and pretty comfortable. Obviously not the ritz, but a good 1 or 2 nighter for sure.

It was a clean place. The beds were hard though. It could have been priced a bit more reasonably. The hotel was very CLEAN and the staff ran the place well.

Decent hotel. Walls are thin and you can clearly hear people talking downstairs. Good enough for an overnight stay. Breakfast was okay.

The Comfort Inn in Santa Cruz is adequate. It's one of the cheaper hotels in the area, but it was clean and close to the building I had to go to the next morning. For one night, it was fine. No frills, but the breakfast in the morning was decent. All in all, I would rate it as "satisfactory."

clean and comfortable. A bit far away from downtown but Denny's and one local cafe nearby which is good enough for me. You could find fastfood close enough as well. Good deal considering performance over cost.

Clean, moderately priced, close to freeway, WONDERFUL con-breakfast, gracious hosts... Why would I pay double to be a little closer to the beach? This place is everything a pair of travelers need. Not the Ritz, but, if that's what you want you're probably not looking at this post anyway. Amenities are standard, but, again, clean and we left happy!

We weren't looking for anything fancy when we stayed here; just wanted a clean place to crash for the night. It satisfied that requirement. My one comment would be on the super slow check in we had. Probably waited for about 20-25 min for two people in front of us.

I like the price of this hotel and the staff. You get what you pay for but for people on a budget it's great. I would stay at this hotel again.

My dad and I just took a one day trip to santa cruz to sight see and hang out at the beach. This hotel is just minutes away from shopping, the beach and we were very happy about that. The room was clean and the continental breakfast had a huge selection of things to eat. The staff was friendly and the hotel was quiet during the night. I would stay here […] again for sure. Les mer

Very friendly staff, pool area was clean and well appointed. Only complaint was the 1/2 size pillows on the beds. Never have had these before and if never have them again would be fine with us. Overall a nice place to stay in a tourist town with lots of people comming and going.

It was not like the picture. Pool was heated and spa was hot but they we so small. Nowhere near enough parking for the amount of rooms. It's confusing to find. Breakfast was good though. My room when I arrived after 3 was not ready and was a disaster. Phone didn't work and was taped together. Bathtub didn't work and not good with 2 small children.

Great place and for the price even better! The lady when I checked in seemed not the nicest but we all have our bad days. The breakfast was pretty good, waffle maker, oatmeal, etc but plenty of choices. The room was nice too. I would definitely stay again.
