Wow! Dette hotellet har alt man kan drømme om. Ligger midt i smørøyet, har et eksklusivt preg og er alikevel koselig. Anbefales på det sterkeste!

"OK hotel, declining area"
The hotel is clean, well staffed, and the restaurant and bar are very nice but the area around the place is problematic. The Highland Mall across the highway was dealt a fatal, lingering blow by the S&L collapse and finished off by the tech sector implosion. The surrounding area is feeling it. There is nothing within walking distance--when room service […] ends at 11 PM you have to leave the hotel for food or send for delivery. If you don't have a car, stay downtown. This is not the place for you. This area could come back as soon as Highland Mall is bulldozed and redeveloped but until then stay downtown. Les mer

Door to the bathroom would not close. Rub up against the frame. They need to check their rooms with routine maintenance.

Our room was right next to the elevators. The noise kept us up all night. The bed would vibrate against the wall every time an elevator passed by (there were three of them). The room was dated as well as the hotel. Parking was horrible at night!

It was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful, anything I called for it was delivered within 3-5 minutes and staff also called to make sure I received what I needed. The beds were comfortable, however they were rather small but I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel convineantlly located close to the downtown area as well as the Austin Airport. An added bonus was the free Breakfat Buffet included in the price of the room. BFront desk customer service was somewhat lacking but we had great customer service from the maiderde and the restaurant staff. We would definately stay again.

Old - needs to be updated.
Our floor was under renovation, but no noise, not a problem other than unfinished drywall in halls. This hotel does not offer complimentary breakfast, that was the only negative.

We were absoluetly delighted with every aspect of this hotel, from the rooms to the staff. I had read some reviews that were not very flattering concerning the staff so I went expecting to be disappointed. We were greated at the door by an unbelievably friendly, smiling, and warm employee!! At the front desk everyone was tremendous. Hotel is overpriced and the location is abyssimal. For the same price you usually get continental breakfast at other hotels. Not here.

The hotel staff was great. The room however needed some help. The tv volume would not lower all the way down so it was a lilttle loud for night time. The shower/tub needed maintenance. I travel for business. I always stay here when I am in Austin. Would recomend it to anyone that wants to stay in north Austin. Only a 5 minute drive up the freeway from downtown.

Hotel staff were very professional and friendly. Always felt welcome. Impressed by the pricing at the Resturant, very resenable for a hotel. Room was very clean and neat. Never heard any noise from other rooms, so seems built well for sound.

Overall great stay and convenient location to UT Austin. I ate at the Pappasittos about 5 min. walk and it was excellent. There is also a Pappadeaux a little closer. Do be wary of the now almost vacant Highland Mall though on the other side of I-95. All the big boxes are gone and now just a matter of time before it starts going down hill. Such a s […] hame. I thought I had booked the downtown Crowne Plaza so I was surprised that it was this location that is in a less than desirable neighborhood. The lobby and front staff were nice but the room was dirty in several places- shower, night stand side had who knows what on it and the electronics (TV, etc. were dated). For a supposedly upscale hotel, it was not. We found the rooms to be very small. Their minimal continental breakfast was $9.00. The location was easy to get to, but you would be just as well off at a super 8 with free breakfast.

i was disappointed in the air quality of the hotel and in particular the room. It seemed to be a smoking room at one time disguised for rental as a non smoking room. The bathroom toilet area was way too small. NO space between toilet and tub making it a very awkward space. Otherwise, the room was great, the food delicious, the service excellent.

This hotel did not live up to my expectations when compared to other Crown Plaza Hotels I have stayed in.
The hotel was fine, but i was dissappointed upon my arrival. I reserved a King bed room, and was TOLD (with no compassion what-so-ever) that i WILL be staying in a Double room. I think i would have been fine with that had the employee "sadly informed" us. She was very matter-of-fact and did not want to hear about my dissappointment in not getting what […] i reserved. I understand the hotel reserves the right to give you whatever room they want, but a little compasion would have eased our disappointment. Every other employee was pleasant during our stay. This is the first survey i have ever completed on my hotel room. I am not trying to get this employee in trouble, i just wanted to vent my frustration. Les mer

"So disappointed"
The hotel gives out the rooms on a first come first serve basis which I did not know. I had paid in advance for a double room with pull out sofa bed and only received a double room. One of my friends had to sleep on the floor the whole weekend. Then to top things off we had no hot water on our floor the whole weekend and the problem was never fixed. […] I am so dissapointed with how the hotel staff was so noncaring about how I was being treated. I use to Love staying at the Crowne Plaza but I will never stay there again. Les mer

I have been in customer service for over 29 years. I have been a pbx operator for a hotel and have trained and managed people...THIS, by far, WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE HAD EVER! From check in time to check out time, were major issues for me. This was my first visit to Austin. I was there for a couple of different events and because of the hotels […] multiple issues including staff training, I missed my last event! When we arrived at midnight, our double room wasn't ready. There were several guests in the lobby trying to check in when I arrived. 2 staff members at the front desk. The manager started yelling, she had no more rooms. At first, I was thinking, "oh no!” I thought I wouldn’t have a room but then she explained she was telling the other guest in the lobby so they would know she had no rooms. She had rooms but then she couldn't release the rooms which caused her to book me in a Jr. Suite which I thought was an upgrade until I realized it only had 1 double bed and a couch/bed. I originally had 2 doubles so now I have 1 bed and 1 couch...NOT GOOD. I called down to get bedding for the couch bed and they bring 1 blanket and 1 sheet. I ask for more bedding and was told that they have no more. I go in the bathroom, which was extremely small; the tub was so dingy I had to get in with my flip flops. I turned on the shower and the pipes start rattling loud, the water was barely warm so I rushed to get in and get out. The second day, I came back from one event at 3:30 to change clothes to go to my other event at 6 pm. I get to the room and my card was demagnetized due to where I put the card in my purse. I go to the front desk to get my key reactivated and the on-duty manager is training 2 employees. The on-duty manager is being rather rude and short with the new employees in giving directions, then she goes over to them and tells them to stop doing anything, she will handle. Again, there are several guests in the lobby and this behavior is displayed in front of ever Les mer
The people were very pleasant and helpful, but I have to give the room and comfort of the room a lower rating due to low water pressure and cooler than normal water. The room had a musty smell, as if someone had smoked in it and it was covered with perfumy sprays. The service itself was excellent.
